[Vince Myers enters]Vince awoke to a good sized room, his stomach was in pain but a large gauze wrap covered his bullet wound. Vince did not know where he was, he figured a hosptial, but the place was unrecognizable. He sat up from the bed and tried to stand. As he stood, he clenched his stomach, the gauze was fresh so much blood hadn't covered it. He was burdened with a limp as he made his way to the large window. He was high up, definately the fifth or fourth floor, as he peered out and gazed upon the large city before him. It appeared to be in Las Vegas, he could see the Airport that Anthony worked at from the high up view. A nurse entered the room and rushed over to him.
"Sir! You shouldn't be out of bed, your injuries are very serious!" The young woman was very frantic. Vince, very nonchalantly, turned to the beautiful young woman.
"I'll be okay, Miss.""Sir, you should really get some rest, your injuries are not fully healed!" The Nurse's name tag read Jessica.
"I'll be fine, Miss. Do you know where my friend Anthony Martin is?" Vince started to regain his normal self.
"Uhm, yes, he's upstairs in the Critical's hallway." Vince reverted to himself for a moment as he gave the young woman a charming wink.
"Thanks, beautiful." Vince walked away with a smile as the young woman blushed, he headed out the door and towards the stairs.
Arriving at Anthony's room, Vince was content, he had to check on his friend. The room was blocked by a Guard, he looked at Vince.
"No visitors, Sir." The Guard tried to scare Vince into leaving with his large frame and gaze. Vince looked at the Guard, then to the floor as he chuckled, he returned his eyes to the Guard.
"That man is my close friend, you let me in that fu*king room, now." The Guard stared down Vince with amazement, the Guard was large, Vince stood with powerful confidence.
"Listen you little sh*t, I said no vis..." Before the Guard could finish his sentence, Vince punched him in the face, sending him straight to the floor. The Guard was out cold as Vince entered Anthony's room. Anthony appeared to be writhing in pain as Vince approached his bed; Anthony was sitting up.
"Anthony?" Anthony spun around to Vince with a painfully mustered smile on his face.
"Vince! What's up, man?" He seemed to try and play off like he was not in pain.
"You okay man?" Vince moved forward, still clutching his gunshot wound. Anthony looked his normal self, his left arm was in a sling and a large gauze wrap covered his shoulder and torso.
"Yeah I'm go... good man, how's that gunshot feel?" Anthony twitched in pain during his sentence, a small piece of his skin appeared to be black just outside the gauze.
"It's a little sore, you sure you're all right?" Anthony nodded as the door was quickly shoved open, a younger man jumped in from the doorway.
"Dad?" The young man stood at around 5 feet 9 inches, he appeared to be in his early 20's, he had black hair and appeared to be lightweight. Anthony looked to the young man and smiled.
"John! How've you been, son?" Anthony, still trying to play off that he wasn't in pain, looked slightly happy to see his son. Vince now recognized the young man and connected him with the small boy Vince met when he was 13.
"Hey John, remember me?" John kept a puzzled look as he answer both of the men.
"I've been good, Dad; and I don't think I remember you, sorry." John was searching for an answer as he directed his attention to his Father; Anthony looked to Vince.
"Vince he was only three when he met you." John searched the two men for answers as Anthony cringed in pain.
"Dad!?" "Ant!?" The two yelled out to Anthony as he went into cardiac arrest and fell to the floor. Doctors poured in the room as Security Guards threw Vince and John against the wall. John pushed the Guard off of him.
"Get off! He's my Father!" Vince assisted John's struggle.
"Let him go! He's Anthony's son!" The Guards payed no attention to their words as they shoved them out of the room.
The Guards handcuffed Vince and sat John down next to him, unhandcuffed, as they kept Guard around them. John looked to Vince, then to the Guards, and finally back to Vince.
"Vince, was it? What is going on with my Father? What happened to him?" Vince looked to John with a saddened face.
"I asked your Father to send a Chopper to Raccoon City, he came with it, as we tried to escape a Tyrant stabbed him in his shoulder." John's face grew pale, he acknowledged something Vince had missed as he frantically began asking him questions.
"You were in the room before me, did my Father twitch? Was his skin discolored? Did he seem weird?" Vince looked to John, he had just described his Father as he was before he entered the room.
"Yeah, he had all of that." John stood up, he was shaking, he turned to the Guard next to him, punched him out and then the one next to him; the others tackled him as Vince stood and kicked the Guards off of him. John stood up and grabbed the keys off of one of the Guards, sounds were heard through the door. John took the handcuffs off of Vince as John ran to kick in the locked door. He let out a scream as he kicked but failed to break the door down, the noises grew louder as screams arose.
"C'mon kid, use a little anger." Vince's expression grew dark as he kicked the door off it's hinges into the lit up room. Tentacle-like appendages threw the Doctors about the room, Anthony's body was the source as Vince realized what John had realized earlier. John ran into the room as Vince ran for him.
"Dad! Dad!" Vince ran forward and grabbed John, pulling him back.
"You can't go in there! That's not your Father! It'll kill you!" John struggled as Vince held him back and tried to pull him out of the room. Anthony's body rose as he looked at Vince, Anthony's gaze was horrifying, sending a chill down Vince's spine. The people most close to him were gone and he had accepted that, but Vince froze at the sight of his best friend's body being controlled by a monster. Anthony lifted his arm and pointed at John.
"Vi...nce! Get... my son... out... of here!!" Vince pulled John out of the door as he watched a flap of mutated skin take over Anthony's lower half.
Back in the hallway Vince pulled John to the nearby alarm, he elbowed the glass and flipped the switch, sending the place into panic. Doctors flooded out of the rooms as large metal doors closed down the windows and the stairways. Vince threw John into the nearby elevator with the Doctors.
"Vince! Wait! Let me help you!" The elevator door began to close as John's hand stopped it. Vince looked to John, he had to respect Anthony's wishes.
"Your Father didn't want you to see him like this, I have to respect his wish, I owe him that." Vince pushed John into the elevator and attempted a smile. The elevator closed as Vince looked right, then left down the hall. The nurse who had attended him earlier, Jessica, was stuck in this hallway as well. Vince ran to her side as she was down on the floor.
"Hello, Beautiful, what are you doing up here!?" Vince picked her up as he managed his flirtatious ways even in danger; the frail woman looked up to Vince.
"I came looking for you." She blushed as she handed him his Pack, with his Mutilator shotgun attached.
"Thought you might need that." Vince smiled as he latched the Pack and shouldered his Mutilator shotgun.
"Thanks, I am going to need this." He cocked his gun then signaled Jessica to follow him.
The hallway was closed down, but it wrapped around the building, the door to Anthony's room was demolished as a large blood trail led out the door and down the hall. Vince ran with Jessica right behind him, he reached a hole in once of the metal containment walls that blocked stairwell access. The trail led up, Vince followed it to the last floor before the roof. He stopped and looked down to the frightened young woman next to him.
"Listen Jess, wait here for me, I'll signal you up when it's clear." She looked to him in despair as she grabbed his arm and pulled him close.
"Please don't leave me alone!" Vince didn't want to leave her side, but Anthony was too dangerous for her to be around.
"I'll be right back, trust me; and my name's Vince." She looked more relieved to know his name and genuinely did trust him, so she nodded as he walked up the stairs and out the door.
The roof had a cold breeze which attempted to fling Vince around, it was dark and appeared to be around midnight. The mutated body of Anthony was near the edge of the building as Vince ran up to him.
"Anthony!" A tentacle flung itself at Vince as he dove out of the way. The mutant turned around, enabling Anthony to be seen.
"Vince...kill...me..." Anthony screamed in pain as the mutated body closed in on his original body. Vince looked to Anthony as he aimed his shotgun for the mutants tentacle-like legs.
"Lo..ook... after... my son..." Anthony's final wish escaped his dying mouth as Vince fired his whole round into the two legs that held up the mutant, and one into Anthony's head. The monster fell back as it tried to grab on, it slipped off the edge and fell to it's demise. Anthony was another person close to Vince that he was forced to kill. Vince fell to his knees once again and as fog dispersed from his mouth from the cold weather, Vince spoke to Anthony.
"I will, Ant, I will." Jessica, who had watched the whole thing happen, ran out onto the rooftop and caressed Vince.
"Was he close to you?" Vince nodded as a nonchalant expression covered his face. He looked to the beautiful woman as she looked back at him.
"He... was the closest thing, to a Father... I've ever had." Jessica moved her hands from around his side to his face as she gazed into his eyes.
"I'm so sorry..." He looked at her as she moved closer to his face and kissed him, he acknowledged this as it snapped him back to reality. He returned the kiss, they got up and walked back to the stairwell. They walked down to the ground floor, she held her arm around his back and on his stomach as he held his arm around her shoulders and the other clenching his gunshot wound; which he had reopened.
They reached the lobby at which point a group of Quarantine Guards rushed them outside for T-Virus checks and examinations. Vince kept his blase expression as he walked out with Jessica, only smiling to her, they reached the group of Scientists and Doctors that John Martin was with. Vince looked to John with a saddened expression,
"Your Father was a good man, John. I knew him for a long time, since you were a child." John looked to the man with respect, as he would have looked to his father, just with more of a friendly touch.
"Did... my Father have any last words?" Surprised that John would ask such a question, Vince was relieved that he could say it formally.
"Actually, Yes, he wanted me to look after you now."John smiled to Vince as he was introduced Jessica. Vince, John, and Jessica came together as they left the Hospital and headed out.
