Casamir was more than a little surprised to see Bill actually approach him, and tried to scare the MMA fighter off with a slight press of the knife against the woman's throat. She had long since stopped screaming, and now just whimpered, tears in her eyes. Now, most people might feel ashamed for making a random young woman cry, but Wraith didn't care for tears. After all, who had helped him in his time of pain and grief so many years ago? No one, so he owed nobody any compassion.
He watched Brewer raise the sword, and realized that the man was testing him. Ah, if only Brewer knew who he was dealing with, Casamir used silently, he might not be doing that. He listened carefully to Brewer's little proposal, trying to pick out his intentions from body language and tone. Oldest trick in the book, make your opponent feel in control, only to overpower them. Wraith wasn't going to fall for that, so he offered a counter-proposal.
"How about this," he began, speaking nonchalantly from behind the mask, "you walk over to the glass, wave off the military, and then I'll relax my grip on her. Put away the sword, and I'll let her scamper off somewhere to hide. Fail to do either in the next six minutes, and she dies while I find another human shield. After that, then we'll enter the elevator, and I'll put my knife away then if you promise to keep your sword put away."
He mockingly stroked the woman's cheek, making her shiver. "You wouldn't want this poor woman to get hurt, would you? I mean, after all, it would look bad for your image as a celebrity. Or is that not in a champion MMA fighter's agenda?"

*This was the moment Bill realized things are only going to get worse before they get better. He turned his attention to the military personnel, and he's able to tell they're growing impatient. Also noticing the fact that they seem to be formulating some sort of plan to infiltrate and apprehend the assailant. As much as he hated the thought, he started to think he would in fact have to play hero here, and put the man down himself. He knew that the military wouldn't listen to him if he actually tried to wave them off.
Bill kept his eyes off of the man, and proceeded to move forward. Shifting his direction, to where he's walking toward the entrance of the lobby. The mercenary turning his frame as Bill walks by, ready for anything Bill may try to cast on him. Bill walks by, turning his head slightly to look to him from the corner of his eye. He turned his head further, to look the woman in the eyes. Seeing the fear that's flowing through her as the knife is pressed against her throat.
Bill was slowly walking, purposely delaying his travel to the lobby entrance, as he gazes to the people that are far behind the assailant. Noticing that one of them are wielding a glass bottle, a wine bottle if you will. Bill nods his head to the man as they suddenly make eye contact. The assailant is aware of this, and turns his frame to see what Bill nodded at. The man thrashed the glass bottle onto the floor. The noise of the shattering glass made the assailant's body flinch, especially as he was already in the simulation of turning. During that second, Bill swung his leafsword, and launches it directly toward his left leg. Before the assailant realizes, he has a blade impaling his shin, by just an inch or two.
A shriek is heard emitting from underneath his mask, as he begins to press the knife to the womans throat. This time, he intended to slit her throat, but was stopped when Bill has already managed to get in close proximity, and grab his arm to prevent him from doing so. Once Bill had gripped the forearm of the man, he had his hands gripped on it in a way that causes the his grasp of the knife to soften. Thus the woman falls down to her knees, and Bill proceeds to perform the disarming action as he lunged his body forward, flipping his body to where his back is facing him, and ramming his elbow down on the mans wrist as Bill grabs the knife.
While Bill is doing this, the military outside suddenly rush in, as Bill was about to finish the man off with his infamous spinning back elbow after disarming him, the military personnel that rushed in, yelled for them to freeze and aimed their guns to the two. Bill was able to stop his elbow strike in time, and swiftly maneuvers away from the assailant as the military officers lock their aim on the mercenary.*

== Cameron and Rissa enter Vegas, heading for the Flamingo Hotel ==
The old red Ford Truck rattled as Cameron turned the wheel. Up ahead, the Flamingo Hotel took of most of the view from the cab of the truck. Cameron was here just a few weeks ago, but with all that went down, it seemed like an eternity ago.
Cameron also kept looking over at Rissa. This must be so different to her. She grew up on a compound in the middle of nowhere and now she was in the sinful metropolis that was Las Vegas. This was probably more people than she was used to and with more "liberal" attitudes toward almost everything.
Still, Cameron was working on a plan to help her ease into her new life. That's why he picked one of the hotels that was off the strip and not very populated. He would ease her into society. Also, and he wouldn't tell this to Rissa, but he was putting off the wedding for her sake. Cameron wanted to marry her, but he also wanted her to see what else was out there before settling with him.
He pulled up under the covered drive that led to the front door and put the truck in park. He turned to Rissa. "Wait right here and I'll get us a room."
He kissed her on the lips and then jumped out of the truck, heading into the hotel.
What she didn't know was that he had money and was getting the honeymoon suite at the very top.

Rissa sat in the truck cab and took in the giant buildings around them. People actually lived here? How did they make everything so big? She felt like her head was spinning as she tried to imagine so many people living in all of the rooms.
She wondered what the inside looked like, and how big everyone's homes were. There would be so many new people to meet, so many new exciting things to see. Was this Cameron's world? Was this normal for him? She wanted to be a part of this. A part of what he considered normal.
She didn't realize she had curled into a ball around her seatbelt as she took in the very big world around her. It was truly awe inspiring

Cameron waited at the front desk. The man behind the desk finished up his paperwork and then looked over at Cameron.
"May I help you?" he asked looking Cameron over. Cameron realized that he was wearing fatigues and his boots were muddy.
"Yes", said Cameron. "I would like to have your honeymoon suite for 2 weeks."
The desk clerk snorted. "That is $300.00 a night, $500.00 if you want the full concierge service. That brings the total to $7000.00" The clerk began to turn as if to walk away when Cameron pulled out a stack of hundreds.
"I hope cash will be find", he said, counting out Seven thousand dollars in cash. The clerk seemed to change his attitude in an instant. "Very good, sir. Is there anything else that I can help you with?"
Cameron motioned to the truck outside. "I need a very large luggage carrier."
"Right away sir."
Moments later, after getting the keys to the honeymoon suite on the top floor, Cameron came back out to the truck. He went to the passenger side door and opened it. When he saw her cuddled around her seat belt, she became worried.
"Are you okay?"

Rissa smiled up at Cameron, uncurling herself from the seatbelt and stepping out of the truck. Everything seemed so...impossibly large.
"I'm okay. Just...taking everything in. Is this...is this your compound? Your community?"

Cameron held out his hand for Rissa to take. He seemed to struggle to answer the question. "It is difficult to explain. Think of it as a community of strangers. People here know some of the people here, but no one knows everyone. We have several forces that maintain security and police the bad people. People here are free to come and go as they please, and free to work where they want and interact with who they please. So we are a community, but loosely tied together."
Cameron grabbed the large luggage cart and began to unload the truck and pile it on the cart. Cameron, while he liked the truck, wasn't sure it was the best vehicle for them. He would be getting a new vehicle soon.
"We were able to get the honeymoon suite on the top floor for a few weeks. Then we can find more permanent housing."

"So, we are just staying for a while and then finding another Home? Do people not always live here? So strange..."
Rissa smiled up at her husband and hugged him, moving to help load the items from the back of the truck. Though it was only temporary housing, she was still going to make him as comfortable as possible in their living quarters. She would ensure it was clean, his meals were hot, and she was as attentive to him as possible.
"I am a very lucky girl to have found you Cameron."

"No, I'm lucky to have found you", responded Cameron. As they finished unloading the truck, he began to push cart towards hotel. As he reached the door, a Valet approached Cameron. Not wanting to leave Rissa alone in the hotel room, he tossed the Valet the keys and handed him $10.00. The man nodded and turned back to the truck, while Cameron pushed the cart and led Rissa into the hotel.
He was really looking at Rissa the entire way. If he had been paying attention, he would have noticed that the man who caught the keys, his shirt sleeve had raised up and there were branded circles on his arms, marking him as one of the Branded.
Unfortunately, he didn't and they entered the hotel. Cameron went to the elevator and slide the key card for the top floor into the elevator and then pushed the button for the honeymoon suite. The elevator doors closed and it rose to the top. As the doors opened, it opened into a small foyer that led to a door. Cameron again slide the key into the door and opened it into the suite.
The room was huge with two couches, a large TB, dining table, computer station and a kitchen. There was a door off to the left that led to the bedroom and the bathroom. Cameron pushed the cart to the side... they would be emptying that later. He turned and smiled at Rissa. "Welcome home... for now."
After the Valet parked the truck, he went to the phone and made a phone call.
"This is Philip at the Flamingo. Yeah, they're here. Like you said, I get to pick my bride. I want her and I get all of his belongings when I kill him, right? Yeah, the truck is disabled. I'll wait for you to arrive."

Rissa stopped and stared at the room, seeming to take in the large space and marveling at all of the different...things she had never seen before. The view was amazing outside, as if they weee gods looking down on the rest of the world. It was almost dizzying how high up they were, and she had to ste away from the window before vertigo set in.
"This is amazing. I will make sure the room is kept clean. Where is he kitchen? I will make us dinner, and I will make sure you are relaxed. The drive here was long. I'm sure you need...to be relaxed."

Cameron turned to Rissa. He grabbed her hand and led her to the couch. "Honey, this is going to be hard to understand and maybe I need to hear more about this 'religion' that you grew up in, but you are not here to serve me. If this is to work, we are a team... equals. I will be serving you just as much as you serve me. I don't want a servant. I want a wife... a wife that has hobbies, interests and things that she likes to do."
Cameron looked her in the eyes. "I want to know more about you... the good and the bad. Tell me, what do you like to do? What hobbies interest you?"

Rissa smiled, her eyes looking into his instead of st his feet or...other parts of him. She was a little lost for words at first. She had things she liked to do. Things she wanted to learn how to do. He seemed to want her to explore these options, and she was more than happy to do so. It would make him happy to see her happy. She could live with that.
"I love drawing. I'm terrible at it, but I love doing it. And I love cooking. I love making new things and knowing my food pleases people. And dancing. I used to dance when ever I got the chance. There wasn't a lot of music though."

Cameron was happy. She was finally opening up... not being the locked up bride of a cult member. He smiled. "Great, we can start exploring those options. His face became serious for a moment. "and I was serious about my offer. I will love to have you as my wife, but if you want to explore and see if someone else is meant for you, I understand. I want you to be with me because you want to be with me, not because I'm the only choice available to you."

Rissa nodded, but held up her hand, the late ring dangling at a funny angle on her slim finger.
"I'm yours. Always. I..I don't want another man. I want to please you, to be only yours. You saved my life, spared me from being married to Rick. No other man compares to you."
She looked down at her hands in her lap, and then up at him. Had she done something wrong? Did he not want her?

Cameron's smile broadened. He had hoped she would say that, but Cameron wasn't the type of person to force someone to be with him if they didn't want to be. He leaned over and kissed her again and drew her close.
"Then let's celebrate. Would you rather go out on the town and explore, or stay here and order room service?"
Cameron was already planning their week. They would get settled and then go shopping for food and clothes, something just right for a wedding. Then they would hit that little white chapel to get married. Man, how did that survive all the devastation, he didn't know. Then it was on to find a little house or condo that was out of the way to settle down and make their life. Cameron quickly realized that he would also have to find a job to support them before his money ran out.
