Cam grabbed the ladder and held it still.
"I'll hold it from down here to steady it and you can climb up. Then I'll come up last. That way...."
Cam cut off his sentence, jerking his head to look toward the doors.
"Do you hear that?", he asked Will. "It sounds like the chirping of a smoke detector who's battery needs to be replaced. Just like my Aunt Yaya's house. Man she never changed that thing. We'd spend a few weeks each summer there and I swear I'd hear that chirping for the next 3 months in my mind. Nearly drove me crazy. I almost mailed her $2.87 so that she could go buy a battery. But then I would have to also ship her a step ladder. She lived in Houston and that explained alot. Well, anyway, up you go!"

Will glanced up at the little ways where Bill had been, looking down at the two from high up. She'd ingored Cam's rant since she used to do the exact same thing, she was short, no way she'd be able to change the damn battery without Kevin. Of course Kevin was so used to it by then, it melded into the background.
Grasping onto the rope ladder she stuck one foot on it, then stopped, frowning.
"I can't climb up first! I'm wearing a dress...you can go, I'll follow you," she told Cameron, rubbing the back of her neck as a faint flush appeared on her cheeks. It was pretty awkward.
((Ha-ha. Next person to mention the smoke alarm and my height gets decked. D8< ))

Cam's face turned bright red just a second before Will mentioned as he realized that she had on a skirt and though it was be the most memorable climb for him, it would be pretty awkward for her.
"Oh, yeah, sorry, chivalry and all."
He grabbed the ladder and gave her a weak smile, but his face was still flush. Then he began to climb up the rope ladder. It swayed back and forth as he climbed but he managed to make it up to the top of the elevator. Looking up, he saw that the elevator was stuck between floors and that Bill was standing in the open doorway above them, and it was only about 5 feet up. Behind him stood a couple... Mrs. Yates who he had met that morning and a man that could only be Will's father. His arms were crossed but the look on his face was of concern. He did look the part of an overprotective father.
Cam climbed up to the door and crawled through. By now, his white suit was ruined. It had dust and dirt streaked all through it and he figured his face and hair did too. Grease and oil from the roof of the elevator covered him. Still, he smiled. It was good to be out of that tiny box... and they had gotten to know Bill a little better.
"Mrs. Yates, it is good to see you again, though the circumstances are less than optimal. At least this one didn't have a dianoga and wasn't a trash compactor because I don't have an R2 unit to open the doors."
Again, what was it about pretty women that made Cam's mouth turn to mush. Why couldn't he just keep quiet. I am sooo Michael Scott from the Office, he thought.
"Will you can come up now."

*Bill peering down into the elevator shaft as Cam was making his exit. Will seemed to be struggling on the thought of climbing a ladder while she was wearing a dress. Bill noticed the white suit of Cam's had collected dirt and dust to the point to where it was highly noticeable. Bill peeled his eyes to the white shirt he had on, to see it was minimally dirty. After watching the two, Bill decided to pull himself out of the doorway so that Cam can pull himself out. Bill turned his eyes to the side, to see the Father of Will. Appearing to be conceit, and worried at the same time. He was standing like a statue with his arms crossed. Bill turned his body, and began to speak to him.*
• Bill: "Your daughter, has a guardian now. Once her and Cameron get back, theres some matters to be discussed. I'll leave that to her."
*Bill kept a serious facial expression during that statement. Wills' Father appeared to be heavily concerned now because he dropped his arms, and tucked them into his pockets as he turned his head away. Bill looked back down, to see Cam has made it to the doorway. Bill sticks his hand out, to aid Cam.*

Will grasped onto the rope and began ascending the rope ladder as quickly but carefully as possible. Half way up, she heard Bill exchaning words with her father, mentioning something about their unannounced trip, which made Mr.Yates begin to question what was going on. Upon reaching the top of the ladder, she'd frowned at her father's disapproving scowl as he looked down at her, reaching down to grasp her arms and carefully pull her up from the shaft.
"Just where are you off to? With strangers, no less?" he asked, sternly.
Will frowned and felt her body tense. Her shoulders went up a bit and she bowed her head like a scared child.
"I-I'm going into Raccoon City...to find Kevin. I--"
"No, you're not. You're staying here in Las Vegas where it's safe. Where we can protect you. Honey, Kevin's gone. You know he's dead."
"HE'S ALIVE! He texted me! Kevin texted me, about an hour ago. He doesn't want me going either, but I told him I was gonna no matter the circumstance. He'd come for me if I were in the same position!" she argued.
Mr. Yates shot a glare at Cameron and Mr.Brewer. Bill's title and stature hadn't scared him one bit.
"Did one of you put this nonsense in her head? Just who the hell are you and what do you plan on doing if my only child gets killed or infected? Huh?! She's not your daughter." he griped.
"Honey, please, don't make a scene," Mrs. Yates pleaded.
"Don't pull them in this, they're trying to help me," Will said, angrily.

*Bill looked on as Will and Father engaged in a conversation. Observing to see that her Father disproves of her presence in Raccoon City. Noticing that her Father, began to remind him of Tony, his Father. Remembering the times of when he had spent with his family. Realizing that his Father wasn't as protective to him as Will's Father is for her, but it still came to his mind. As the two continued their argument, Bill had stepped aside, approaching the corner of the hallway. Leaning against it by placing his palm on the wall, to brace himself. With his free hand, he slides the palm down his face after coming to thinking of the possibilities of him finding his family. Although he thought that the chances are slim, he just wanted to not think about it because he believes they were dead already, due to the fact that they weren't in contact for so many years. After overhearing the exchanged words between Will and her Father, Bill had thrust himself off the wall, and paced over to but in on the conversation.*
Bill Brewer: "Sir, you may not know who I'am, or what I'am capable of, but your daughter does. That is the reason why she asked me to come with her in the first place. She fully understands what I can do, and Cameron is an insurance policy. I guarantee you that Will, will go unharmed. As for some other things, I understand why Will wishes to go there, it's love. Love is the most important thing a person can have, it's somethin' I didn't really have, and you're tryin' to take that away from her. Being a Father is hard, I must say. But I know that a Father would do anything to ensure his daughter is happy. Will, is happy with her love, Kevin. Love, is what's gonna drive this mission. I personally don't think you're gonna convince her otherwise. Whether your like it or not, Will is gonna find a way to Raccoon, and I'll help her because I have potential to save people, not hide here in Vegas. I'am destined to restore the world, and you best believe that I'am gonna do it. First, Reuniting Will and Kevin is gonna be my first mission. I'am a Crusader, sir. Your daughter has the Crusader lookin' after her, she's not going unprepared, or unprotected, that I promise you."
*Bill had spent a few minutes of giving this speech in essence to persuade Will's dad. Although he knows that Will didn't ask him to come, he asked her, but he stretched the truth for her benefit. Bill had nodded to Will as her Father was looking at her, going to allow her to speak her mind now.*

Cam stood off to the side and dusted himself off. His family had always been on the quiet side and he had never heard his dad so much as raise his voice at his mom. This was a different dynamic and it made him uncomfortable.
Uncomfortable usually meant that he would engage his mouth while his brain shrieked for him to shut up.
"So, you're looking nice tonight Mrs. Y. If this whole thing doesn't work out... come see me. That reminds me of this one time... at band camp."
The look from Mr. Yates was palpatable... Yeah, he thought, Palpatable. Just like Emperor Palpatine. Cam pictured him in black with a cape saying. "Will.... I am your father!"
He knew that he didn't have any say with her dad... but her mom seemed to think he was nice.
"Mrs. Y, we'll take care of her. I'm not going through any city that is bigger than a town. We are going to skirt around it. Our destination is Raccoon City Airport. It is protected by almost an entire division of military personnel, law enforcement and security companies. The agent I talked to said that it was as safe as the Vegas Airport."
Cam left out that this agent was an insurance agent.
"From there, we will try to get ahold of Kevin and see where he is. Then it is just a quick jaunt in, grab the guy and they can be all smoochies as we drive back to the airport. By that time they should have another flight from Raccoon City to Vegas, they both of them will be back."
As Cam laid out his plan, he grew a little sad... and a little jealous. She was going to get someone she loved... he was going to pick up a check because the last person he loved had died.

Will looked from her mother to her father for acceptance. Her mother smiled at Cameron befor grasping onto her husband's arm gently and smiling up at him. That forced him to looked back at her for a moment, confused.
"Hon, I think Willamina will be just fine. If you were in our daughter's shoes, you'd come for me....and I'd definitely come for you," she told her husband as sincerely as possible. Mr.Yates frowned a little thus creating a long awkward silence.
"Please...dad..." Will began.
"Alright. I'm giving you a month. If you're not back 31 days from now, I'll go to Raccoon myself and get you," he told her before shooting an intimidating glare at Cameron.
"And you."
Without hesitance, Will hugged onto her father tightly. "Thank you, dad! I promise we'll be back before then, promise!"
Mrs. Yates smiled an glanced at her watch. "Oooh our reservations...gone. What now?" she asked.
"Pizza," Will responded, pulling her cellphone out. It was settled. They'd eat, get packed, leave first thing at sunrise.

*The scene continued on, with everyone attempting to persuade Will's father to approve of her deployment to Raccoon City. After Bill's speech, it seems that had rendered him speechless. Bill stepped back a bit whenever Will dove in to embrace her father to get out of the picture. Showing her gratitude, Bill didn't show much of anything, he just spectated. Hearing Will suggest pizza, and seeing her pull out a cell phone. Bill get's a curious look on his face after spotting Will dialing numbers on the cellphone. Everyone had initiated to depart somewhere else, not sure where, but when Bill noticed her parents going away, he approached her.*
Bill Brewer: "Ay, why did'ncha use that when we were in the elevator?"
*Bill asking such an obvious question because he knew that if she had that cellphone, that she simply could've contacted someone the moment they were trapped. Yet, she didn't. That had Bill curious, and that's why he asked.*

Will looked at Bill and stuck her phone toward the elevator shaft. Upon doing so, every single bar of reception had disappeared. She'd brought the phone back toward her and three reappeared. Smiling a bit she'd returned to dialing a number. "Reception," she simply said.
"By the way, thanks, Mr. Brewer. You helped me out alot more than you'll ever know. I'm glad you're coming with us. Cam and I aren't enough to hold off the dangers of Raccoon...trust me," she told the man.

*At the sight of no reception, Bill felt absolutely dumbfounded. For not knowing much about cellphones in general. Then hearing Will thanking him for aiding her in that scene. Raccoon City being mentioned, and Bill cocked a smirk.*
Bill Brewer: "Dangers of Raccoon, huh. Sounds intriguing."
*He doesn't know much about Raccoon City right now, but, he soon will. Since he is going to visit, he's going to get to know the place real well. As far as their objective, he didn't know what Kevin looked like, and what he was like, etc. Bill looked ahead to see Will walking away. Bill paced forward to catch up with her.*
Bill Brewer: "Tell me about Kevin.""

Cam was dumbfounded and silent under Mr. Yates' stare. Then he felt relieved that he had agreed to let them go. From what he knew of Will, they would have gone anyway, but it was nice that they didn't have to hide it from her parents.
"If you don't mind, I would like to go and change a bit. Something like insulation fell down the back of my shirt and it is itching like crazy. Shall we meet downstairs in twenty minutes? And don't worry, I'm going to take the stairs."
Cam turned to head for the staircase. We would only have to go up another 3 floors to get to his floor.

Will waved Cam off. After calling for the pizza she, her parents and Bill tarted for her hotel room when he asked about Kevin. She smiled faintly and a light blush appeared on her cheeks.
"Uhh, well, he's my fiance. He went into Raccoon for a case, he's a lawyer. I begged him not to go...I man, I was there when the viral outbreak had first started back in 1998. He was certain it wouldn't happen again but..." she trailed off, shoulders slouching.
"When are you three leaving, sweetheart?" came her mother's delicate voice.
"Uh, around 5 am maybe 6. We'll have to get to bed pretty early after we eat," sh told her mother before glancing back at Bill.
"That reminds me, do you have a weapon?"

*Bill had acquired a minor sense of who Kevin is, and what type of guy he is. Although when hearing he's a lawyer, he got the feeling that Kevin may be strict on certain circumstances, like how most lawyers are. He wasn't going to judge Kevin because it's a guy he hasn't met. Looking straight ahead, to see Mr.s Yates speaking to Will.
After their conversation, that's when Bill heard Will speaking to him. Turning his head to his side to give eye contact. To his surprised, she asked him a question he never saw coming. For a moment, he began to look back at some of the collections he has in his room. But, he doesn't speak that.*
Bill: "Girl I'amma weapon..."
*Bill let's off a chuckle, hoping she would as well. Although she didn't, he continued to chuckle. Him being a weapon was true, however, apparently she didn't want to risk. Coming to s stop after his laughter, and then looking back down to her with a straight face.*
Bill: "Okay, yeah I have plenty of weapons in my room. And I know how to use 'em."
