Wallace's orders echoed by Brown's orders, both coming at the same time practically, buzzed into every man and womans headset
STRIKE FORCE! RIGHT FLANK! RIGHT FLANK!
Weapons tight!!! WEAPONS TIGHT!
The weapons tight order was repeated three more times by Wallace and the Right flank + Weapons tight order was echoed all along the convoy again and again by each N.C.O, the seriousness of the situation having been kicked to a whole new level. It was clear they had firepower on their side. They had manpower. The qualitative vs quantitative argument that could be argued until the end of time because both sides work, it is merely a question of a balance of the two. It looked like their opponents might have the superior balance, though. The Stryker A.P.C's could not even be guaranteed safe from their fire. As such, following the weapons tight order, they held fire since they were not being fired upon technically although being rammed, and let themselves be nudged off to the side although the convoys undivided attention and weapons-aim was not riveted upon the newcomers. As things went over, Wallace said very, very loudly inside the Humvee
What the f**k!? How the f**K can they know our mission? F**king bulls**t lies, this was a sneak attack! F**king leaks?
As the man continued on, Wallace repeated again under his breath
What the f**K?
Great gift? What the hell is this guy talking about, Muslim extremist dialogue is one thing, this thing was WAY way more out of this world. A Sci-fi flick where a great gift from the "gods" was actually alien technology entered his mind and he pondered what the "great gift" was. Things just got weirder. Brown in his command Humvee whispered as he stared at the man addressing the convoy and his command Humvee in particular
Trace the signal trace the signal trace the signal. Hit record hit record hit record.
One of the operators inside the command Humvee, in the back, was already hitting record before brown said so, him not having an angle of firing at the newcomers as it was, and as such, started tracing the signal with Chief Master Sergeant Taylor who had already dropped his MP-5/10 already from the start and was working his radio from the start of the transmission. That transmission by now had every man in a mood like Wallace, things just too bizarre and to Sci-fi-ish. Every man who was still thinking straight and hadn't fallen asleep during the Briefing, hell, even Wallace, realized--- since when were there American forces in the city? Prepositioned? C.I.A? Maybe.. Maybe this was their 100% verified accurate source? Maybe? Then things got even weirder... A TENTACLE? Anything seemed possible at this moment. Wallace snapped out of things enough to order the driver and then bellow into his radio
HIT THE F**KING PEDAL! FOLLOW THOSE F**KER'S, THEY MUST KNOW SOMETHING! MIKEY! AIM AT THAT... what is that?
What was this, spider man 3? The sand man? Wallace inside, felt very out of his comfort zone... and he was having a hard time not using ratta-tatta cuss words, although his tone luckily concealed his feelings by remaining cold, disciplined, and forcefully-commanding.

"Jesus H..." Mikey muttered, letting up on the trigger of his gun. He had never seen anything like that, and he had to admit, he was scared. He hadnt been frightened in the least when the gunfire erupted or when the choppers were shot down. Just angry and paniced that he wouldnt see home again. But this. This struck a chord of terror deep in his heart.
The screaming in his headset, the order to fire, snapped him back to the world, and he did what he could. The bullets tore forth from the barrels of the chaingun, tearing into the huge thing that had popped up from the sand. Very few of his shots missed the thing, which was as big as around as a humvee, but the large rounds seemed to be doing nothing. At least to him. This was far from his area of expertise.
As he held the trigger down, he silently found himself wishing Raphael had seen fit to keep him on base and scrub every bathroom there with a toothbrush.

Summers tried again on the radio "This is Staff Sergeant Summers to convoy over." He waited a moment and shook his head, "Just find a way out of here, we need to get to that convoy" He said to Salazar.
They had driven down some streets but Summers knew they were no where close to being near the convoy. They headed North, maybe they would find something there. Suddenly, they drove up on a small compound on the outskirts of the city. As they pulled in, their engine started smoking. s***. Bergamo, check that out, I'm going to go see if anyone is here." Summers ordered. All of the Marines got out of the Humvee. Two of them kept watch for Bergamo, who was a mechanic, and the other four went with Summers. Bergamo went to work on the engine and Summers' team went and searched the compound.
They moved into a room and saw three men sitting in chairs at a small table playing cards. Summers and his team moved into the room with their weapons pointed at the men, just in case. But there were no weapons for these men. Summers ordered the team to lower their weapons and he stepped forward.
"Do you speak english?" He asked. One of the men nodded "Me", he said with an accent. Summers spoke again "Our...Car...Broke down and we need some water, would you happen to have any nearby?" The man nodded and pointed toward the door "Outside. Near gate, there hose. Just turn off when you done."
Summers smiled and nodded. He and his team left the bunker and headed back outside. "Bergamo, use that hose. And hurry, I want to get out of here." Bergamo went over and got the hose and sprayed the engine down. He closed the hood and got back into the Humvee. Everyone else did the same and they started to drive off. Summers would try again "Convoy, come in, do you copy, over"
{{I'm going to say this happened within a 45 minute to an hour time period}}

OOC: Trying to think of what to post, will advance the storyline once I feel I've figured out what to do in this situation since this character is one of Jayme's not of my design at all.

Vanessa stared blankly at the beast in front of the humvee, her eyes wide open and her jaw dropped in absolute fear. Her mind couldn't comprehend what she was seeing, and because of it, she simply froze. Unable to look away, unable to think. Her mind seeing something it never dreamed of seeing, something that shouldn't exist, something she couldn't comprehend. This thing was completely alien to her, and she was scared of it. She avoided panic though, to the best of her minds ability to judge what was going on, she still remained generally calm. She wanted to scream, to make this nightmare end, but knew any attempts like that would be met with futile failure.
She had her M16A4 ready, but the large gun on the gun port seemed to do nothing, her 5.56NATO FMJ rounds wouldn't even scratch that thing, if the large mounted weapons could do nothing. "Where the hell is the TOW!?" She shouted, her mind relaying the words but her heart not understanding what was going on.

OOC: still at a loss of how this situation was really supposed to play out, I'm kind of weaseling my way through... Jones hold on till after this engagement before they pick up your radio transmission
The a long line of sand, although just dust clouds, fall down following the bark of the GAU-19, hardly seeming effected. That was, at least for the moment. If the thing stayed still for a long time, they might be able to wear it down. But no, even as the dust fell more was gathering and the damage was being repaired rapidly, and it wasn't staying still. Justin stared, his eyes wide as the tentacle moved and struck out in front of the vehicle like a stone wall--- no, stone branch---- that they would run straight into, probably shearing off the entire top of the Humvee including the passengers upper bodies, depending on how hardened it was. The driver though, was put on the lead vehicle for a reason, and got paid to be a driver for a reason, albiet s**t pay. The Humvee swerved hard, left, veering off the road with the drivers behind it veering off with it as well maintaining convoy-formation. They didn't have as much a problem with that veering as they did--- the right of the Humvee grinded as it impacted and dragged along against the side of the tentacle, specks of sand working their way inbetween the nooks and cranny of the Humvee doors as the Humvee sheered off a pickup trucks worth of sand battering up against it. The windows cracked from the hardness but didn't break, the doors dented, and the Humvee's side was more damaged then the tentacle was. It was like... Justin barked out
ENGINEER! FIRE YOUR AT4 AST AT THAT THING! SET IT TO BLOW A WALL! T.OW'S! CONCENTRATE FIRE! MIKEY! GET DOWN!
Justin didn't want that thing taking any easy pickings and swiping off the top gunner of his Humvee. Radio chatter became Frenzied as everyone opened fire on the tentacle that they were dodging, the T.O.W's and MK19's opening fire immediately. When a T.O.W hit, a boulders worth of sand fell apart and collapsed. More sand began to gather to it though, but not recovering nearly as fast when the .50 BMG bullets had hit it. The 40mm grenades were not as impressive, but their constant wave of fire chipped it apart bit by bit. The first tentacle began to collapse and Justin was able to breath again, but then... another tentacle darted out and took the place of the other one. The mild but apparent sand storm around them though made it hard for them to figure out where the town was...
Just drive!
The driver growls
I AM I AM!
They had to just hope that if they kept going forward away from the tentacles they would enter the town, although hopefully not by slamming into a building....

Nick unslung one of his AT-4's and quickly programmed the warhead to bust through a wall, not bring down a building. He slung it over his shoulder and opened the window and aimed the AT-4 at the tentacle. "Get clear of the back, im firing in 3...2...1... FIRING!" Nick fired the weapon, the advanced system nullifying the backblast and sent the AST warhead heading dead towards the thing. Nick had been silently praying to whoever was feeling helpful that the shot would hit the target, having led the moving target and ducked back into the Humvee, bringing the window back into place and putting the AT-4 away, and unslung his AA-12 and waited for the explosion that would signal that the missle went off.

The 2nd tentacle was pretty much done for. The call had been a good one. The rocket soared and then slammed into the wall-hard tentacle, and just like the rocket was designed to do, was blasted apart wide open. The Tentacle in fact, had been so effected, the tentacle fell apart into two pieces from the rocket's blast. The tentacle sections fell down to the ground, essentially useless. The convoy was clear for the moment and was still speeding up. By the time the tentacles reemerged and were attacking a fresh, the Strykers were already passing by. The tentacles couldn't keep up, and the delay caused by the 2nd tentacle having been disabled gave them a chance to escape. The convoy soon within minutes found their way to and almost as if on a switch, exited the sand storm and drove into the nearest open town street entrance. The radio transmissions crept in right as they passed through the static-causing sand storm
The radio operator in Brown's command humvee responded
this is Hotel 2-2-7, I read you. Requesting call sign and sit rep, over.
(Just say your call sign is... Kilo 1-4-4 or something)

Mikey had ducked and covered his head when told to do so. As much as that tentical had scared him, he knew full well the destructive power of the small rockets fired by the AT-4's. The force from the blast would have been plently to rupture his ear drums. When he counted out five seconds, the time it would take for the force and any kind of debris to clear itself of the hummvee, he stood back up to man the gun.
As he did, they cleared the sandstorm and pulled into the streets of a town. He didnt know if this was the one that they were going to or a random place they had just happened upon, but he was happy that they had gotten away unscathed. He kept his hands on the gun in case any more normal hostiles came after them. He would be happy to deal with normal people with normal guns after what had happened.

(Hey, TheGunny - is Camelia in the same convoy as Wallace? I'm trying to get my character back, but I'm sort of unsure what the current situation is... what exactly is going on? Sorry for all the questions).

Its fine. Yeah, your in the same convoy. You are in the front vehicle with them, the rear seat to the right behind Wallace and next to Naomi's character, but in front of Gunman's character who is sitting on the outside in the back with the bunker breaching equipment. Pretty much, you went through everything that happened amongst the characters except for some of Jayme's characters and Jones' who are in another Humvee. Your character was actually on the same side that those vehicles rammed into, and that the sand tentacle grazed against the Humvee on. We just got through the initial ambush, some choppers got shot down, the unknown vehicles slamming up against our humvees and forcing them off the road to say (See the dialogue that took place), before we had the fight with the sand storm tentacle thing I weaseled away from. We're now entering the actual town

Summers looked a bit surprised when he heard the other voice on the radio. "This is Kilo 1-4-4. We were separated from the convoy and had some engine trouble. A compound was found and we fixed the problem. We aren't quite sure how to get back to the group." Summers replied. As the Humvee continued moving, Salazar slowed down a bit. Johnsen, on the .50, called out. "Sergeant, I can see a town, and it looks like a convoy is heading {{Insert Direction Here}}. We're not too far."
