Louise felt a sense of safety hit her. They was protected for a while, what with the smoke now showing. She finished boarding the windows and doors and began to feel relaxed again. Louise stood in the kitchen and crossed her arms. She grabbed for her guns and realised that one was now empty. Louise did not have any other bullets with her. I didn't think i'd need them this much. she told herself. Louise three left in one of her guns. "We can only use this gun when we really need to." she said to Amanda as she placed the gun on the kitchen counter.
Louise grabbed a blanket from the kitchen floor and walked to the living room with it. She placed it over her mother to keep her covered up. Louise began to think of the smell - she didn't smell yet, but she soon would. It wouldn't matter though, the smell of decay was already high around London. Louise grabbed the remote for the TV and switched it on. All the channels had a frosty image. Louise wasn't suprised by this, she knew that the whole of London had fallen apart because of the outbreak. Louise placed the remote control on the side of the couch and left the news channel on - maybe we'll get something soon?.
Louise turned to Amanda and spoke "How did the outbreak start in Raccoon City?"

After watching Louise go into the kitchen, she saw her checking her guns. One of them was empty, and who knew how many rounds were left in the other one. The balance was obviously shifted when Amanda took one of them to fend off the creature that attacked, she blamed herself for the lack of ammunition, but it was for a good cause. Amanda looked at the TV, and saw that the News Station was just at its stay tuned screen, nothing was being broadcasted. As she sat down, Louise asked how the outbreak in Raccoon City started. In all honesty, this was somewhat of a mystery to her of how it was actually caused, but from what she could dig up...
"So ive heard, the initial outbreak started all the way back in 1998, believe it or not. The obvious rumors of people being attacked out in the Arklay Forest, just outside of the city, quickly caught the attention of STARS team. They sent in one of there teams to check it out, but they never came back, so they sent in another. The truth hasnt really been exposed, more like neglected, and the people really heard only the information they wanted to here. Then after all those zombies started walking the streets, the people started to get a bit wild, they didnt know what to do or who to trust. In about that amount of time, the whole city was overrun by these zombies..." Amanda was getting into the story, she never had to tell it to anyone before.
"...Of course, that was just what ive heard, and I was too young at the time to understand exactly what was going on, so I cant get into that much detail. But, then they started putting up walls, and sending in people to deal with the outbreak. These people seemed confidently aware of what was going on, which gave me the idea that someone, somewhere, knows something. Not long after that, the town was bombed, more then likely by the same people who wanted to cover up this incident. But rain shower enveloped the flames, and the town was pretty safe, all accept for the destruction and zombies. But I was able to survive through it all, surprisingly enough..." But I didnt do it alone, Amanda spoke lightly.
"...There were other survivers, I could sit here and list them off, everything I knew about them. Logan, he was always the hard one. Looking after his sister Lisa was his only concern, but he kept us alive. Lisa was friend with Raine, they both seemed to be very good people, and they were always kind to me. A little girl my age, Rey. It was sure nice having a friend to talk to, she kept me from growing up too fast. There was another man, he was apparently Reys father, or at least thats what I thought anyway. Joey! That was his name! Who could forget him? He was the one who led the group, the foundation of us all. Probably one of the nicest guys ive ever met..." Amanda started to get sad, holding back a tear.
"...We all separated after Raccoon City was rebuilt, years after the outbreak. Everyone went back to there normal lives, everyone except me, anyway. Kind of ironic, dont you think? I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad. The dreams in which im dying, are the best ive ever had. The nightmare brought us together, and we forgot all about the horror, it was just us together, like a family. But when we all separated, what did we have? Sure the city was back to normal, but we certainly werent. Nothing could ever make things normal again... Im sorry!" Amanda started to cry, it was hard to avoid it. She walked out of the living room, and sat in the hallway, her back against the wall. She just had to get it in her head straight. Things hadnt changed, and they never will.

Louise watched as the emotion took a hold of Amanda. This girl, this survivor had had a hard life. During her story she retreated to the hallway to get some time alone. Louise decided that it was best to leave her for the time being - she needed to be alone to gather herself together. Louise sighed and flicked through the channels. As Louise flicked through the frosted channels she caught a gimpse of a man sat at a desk. Louise flicked back and leaned forward with a hint of delight in her stomach. It was a news channel and the man was old-ish looking. He sat behind a desk holding a clipboard and reading from it.
"...the area is sectioned off, i repeat, the area is sectioned off. Do not enter the airport under any circumstances as it is now over run with these...ghouls. The safes place to go now is the shelters which are located in the north side of London. Please make your way to them as soon as possible. This is the first and only news bulletin you will be receiving, throughout the night it will be repeated..."[/i]
Louise listened carefully and shouted into the hallway "Amanda? I think you'd better take a look at this." As Amanda entered the room she glanced at the TV too.
"...we know very little about the situation right now, all we know is that a disease of some sort is turning the victim's into a trance-like state which makes the victim attack the living. Further more, the victim attacks the human for living flesh. We've had reports from scientists around the world claiming that the state is caused by a deadly virus which has sweaped the work lately. An unknown source has informed us that...and i'm sorry to be saying this people...it really is quite strange. But an unknown source is claiming t-that...the dead are returning to life to eat the living. How this has happened is unknown..."[/i]
As the pair watched the TV a clattering came from the back of the house, thuds began banging against the boarded windows. More zombies?. Louise got to her feet, her gaze totally on the kitchen.

Amanda knew she shouldnt live like this, but its not like she had a choice. She survived this once, and she do it again. Remembering that first glance of a helicopter, able to take them to a safer place while everything was taken care of by professionals. It wouldnt happen anytime soon, the best of the best were either lost or dead in the world. There were no more heros in this world, the only heros were on TV. And even that isnt true because there is no TV. The heros are the people who make themselves stand out from everyone else, but nobody was making a different this time around. Everything was sacrificed last outbreak, and theres nothing left now.
Amandas thoughts came to a halt when she heard Louise call her to, telling her she should come in the room. Amanda slowely got up off the floor, and paced into the living room, catching the the main part about survivers should go north. Places like those existed in Raccoon City, but they never lasted longer then a week, not before there was a slip up which caused the whole safe zone to go haywire. She would like to avoid those spots if she could, doing something productive was always her way to go. Be it escorting survivers, collecting supplise, or even holeing up in a place to see how long you could last before needing to move. It wasnt a game to her, but by now, it seemed like it. "Mmm, I have an idea... Where do 'you' want to go, Louise?"

Louise's gaze fell off the back of the house to Amanda. Louise stared at Amanda for a short time. Where could we go?. Louise spoke to Amanda "What do you mean? We can't go to the shelter can we? I'd rather wait until morning.". Louise felt a rush of fright running through her, imagine battling those creatures at night? It would be hell on earth - what a thing to think. Louise decided in her mind that daylight would seem more safe than darkness.
THUD! THUD!. The boarded window was being banged on, like someone was knocking to come in, Louise knew that it was one of the zombies and decided to shut it out of her mind. They can't break in, not with all the protection. As Louise remained in thought her stomach began growling at her. Louise hadn't eaten since she had a snack on the plane to London. She got to her feet and retreated to the kitchen. The bang's on the window were now louder. Louise opened the fridge and saw it well stocked up. Lots of food for her and Amanda to eat. Louise shouted through to Amanda "You hungry?". Louise opened a cupboard and saw bread there, she picked the bread up and began to butter it. She later added some ham. Louise wondered if it was safe to eat something which may of been there for a while - but it tasted so nice that she hardly noticed.

Amanda took back what she thought, waiting until daylight is better. Being caught in the streets in the night would be a certain downfall, as the zombies would have the upper hand. Besides, they were safer inside the house with all the barricades put up. Amanda was pretty hungery, she hasnt eaten all. Walking into the kitchen to see what Louise had, she was eating bread and butter with ham. She couldnt tell how long the food had been there for, but the fridge was still running, so it would stay good for a week or so. Taking a few slices of bread, she did the same thing that Louise did, ham and butter. She had two of these sandwiches, and it did her for the night. She was pretty small, and it didnt take much to fill her anyways.
Opening up the fridge, she took out the first thing she saw, a pitcher of water. After grabbing two gasses, she lay them on the counter, and filled them both with water. Passing the first glass to Louise, she smiled. "Its certainly not a Burger and a coke, but whatever fills the hole, right?" Amanda chuckled, and then gulped down the glass of water, the lay the glass back on the counter. Hunger supressed, mouth was wet, she was ready for the next step... A good night sleep. She wandered back into the hallway, and then looked upstairs. She remembered a few doors that were closed, and wondered which bedroom was good to sleep in. "So... Where will I be crashing? If your short on bed, I dont mind the couch. Im pretty used to it.."

Louise placed the plates in the sink - her mother would've killed her if the place was messy. Outbreak or no outbreak. Louise followed Amanda to the hallway and listened to her. "Okay, you can sleep in the master bedroom, and i'll sleep in my old bedroom". It seemed weird, but Louise felt more secure in her own bedroom. She thought that it would be okay for Amanda to sleep in a double bed anyway.
Louise walked slowly upstairs and entered her room. She fixed her bed and found her old night dress on the side. She pulled it down and changed into it. Louise then reached for another and walked down the hallway to her parent's room. She knocked and entered. "I have this, it's a night dress for you to wear." Louise placed it down on the bed and smiled. She then turned and walked back to her room. Louise got into her bed and began thinking about the horror that had become her life. Louise tried to drift off to sleep...but was still concerned about the banging on the boarded windows. Louise got to her feet and opened the curtains to her bedroom slightly, she glanced out the window and saw that the hordes of zombies were now gathering around the back of the house. Louise became quite disturbed with this, she could hear the banging downstairs...and yet she still felt safe - why?. 10 of those things would bang down the boards and get in easily - yet there were about 40 of them outside. Louise got back in bed and turned to the right. She shut her eyes and kept them closed until she drifted off into a deep sleep.

[Im trying something new...]Amanda took the bed cloths from Louise, as they both entered their own rooms. She closed the door behind her, but left it open just a little bit incase she needed to get out quickly. The bed was pretty large for someone her size, but it was certainly comfourtable, and she wasnt going to complain. The bed cloths looked very good and warm, but Amanda would just sleep in her oun cloths. If anything happened through the night, she wouldnt want to be fumbling around the room, tripping over her shirt and jeans. After placing everyone on her on the table to the right of the bed, she lay down above the blankets, letting her neck rest on the pillow. Amanda reached to the table, and grabbed her iPod, placing the ear buds on, and turning to a random playlist... ca.youtube.com/watch?v=sHxm710AAI0Amanda soon passed into a sleep, as the iPod powered off automatically after the first song.

Louise turned over to her right and was blinded by the shining light which came through the large window. At least one thing remained normal, day and night. Louise looked for a clock and realised that she never had one in her room. She got out of bed and saw that the zombies had gone. I wonder what drew them away?. Louise headed to the bathroom for a shower, even a cold shower felt fine right now.
After her shower, Louise changed into her normal gear and walked downstairs. She entered the living room and saw that the TV was switched on. "Forgot to turn it off! Damn!" muttered Louise. She grabbed the control and switched it off. Louise headed to the kitchen and searched around for cereal. It was tradition in Louise's eye's to eat cereal in the morning and night - yet she couldn't see any. Louise sat down and became unsettled by the fact that she could not have any cereal. It hit Louise that she didn't need money to buy cereal, it really was easy to just go to the shops. It was all free! Louise decided that she was going to head to the corner shop. If i see anything...i'll blast them! she told herself.
Louise decided not to wake Amanda and decided to just leave. She ran upstairs and looked outside at the front - it was empty, the zombies seemed to have gone somewhere else. Louise ran back downstairs and removed the boards from the front of the door. She shut the door behind her and placed a board in front of the handle to prevent any unwanted visitors. Louise held a knife in her hand and moved down the street to the shop.
[[O.O.C: I'll post about Louise in the shop after Amanda's post.]]

"Louise? Come in, whats wrong?" Amanda awoke to the banging at her door, as she called out to Louise. But she just banged at the door, not stopping. Thats when Amanda knew something was wrong. She jumped up off the bed, and walked towards the door. Turning the knob to open it up, she quickly stepped backwards when an infected burst into the room. There was about six more behind it, from both sides of the hallway. There was no way out of the room, they had it blocked off, and the window was too high up to jump out of. Amanda ran to her cleaver knife, and picked it up, holding it in the air as the first zombie came closer. She stabbed it in the face as it grabbed her arm, and two more rushed in and bit down on her neck...
Amanda screamed out in pain, but realized she was sitting on the bed in Louise' house, it was just a nightmare. She jumped up, this time grabbing a knife prior, and then kicked open the door. There was no zombies, nothing. But she still walked to Louise' room, and looked inside. Nobody was even in there, and the bed was made. Amanda walked down into the living room, and sat on the couch, flicking the TV on with the remote. It was already on the broadcasting station, but she was willing to bet that it was the same message on repeat. She was confedent that Louise just slipped out for a bit, but still, the thought crossed her kind that it was soemething worse. "At least leave a note..."

Louise had managed to get to the shop safely so far. Not a zombie in sight. She raised her knife and walked slowly to the front door of the shop. It was smashed, the glass sparkled on the floor. Louise heard her the glass crunch underneath her boots as she walked slowly up to the front door.
She reached for the handle and yanked it open. Louise pointed her knife forward as she entered the store. The smell of warm milk and decay came over Louise - it was a smell she long wanted to forget. Louise glanced around at the tiny trashed shop. It was completely destroyed. A shadow of it's former self. Louise saw a can of soup on the floor, she crouched down and picked it up, still pointing her knife in the air. She grabbed the can and got a good grip - she launched it through the air to the other end of the shop. Louise ducked down. No movement. The shop was empty. Louise walked towards the right of the shop and searched for the cereal, she saw one box of chocolate drops on the floor - it had been stood on. Louise reached for her favourites, Corn Flakes. She grabbed them and held them under her arm. Louise saw a paper on the floor and picked it up. She opened it up and saw the heading Attack in London!. Louise looked at a small picture in the corner, it showed a woman in a hospital bed, she was missing half of her face - her tore flesh revealed the blood coloured bone underneath.
As Louise read the paper a foot appeared at the bottom of the stairs in the back. It's boot was ripped and revealed a large toe. It shambled towards Louise - her unknowingly reading the paper. As the person't great big hand touched Louise's should she jumped out of her skin. Louise fell back into one of the shelves. It fell forward and landed on her and the man. Louise saw the man's eye's, he was a zombie. As Louise decided to kill the man, she grabbed for her knife. It was gone. Louise looked around and began feeling for the it underneath the shelf. Louise saw it just a small distance away and went to grab it. As she reached, she felt the hands of the man touch her legs. Louise reached for the knife, as she nearly got it, something caught her attention, she looked at the doorway and saw 2 - no - 3 zombies shambling into the shop. This is it girl, she told herself. You've survived all this time and now you've finally let yourself down by dying now. And what for? Over some cereal?! It's almost childish. And what about Amanda? The poor girl is on her own now...proberly worried sick about you. And i bet - SNAP OUT OF IT!.
Louise regained focus and reached one last time for her knife. She finally got it and whirled around stabbing the man in the head. The blood trickled from her head and the sight made Louise feel sick. As she continued to stab the man again, she felt yet another hand touch her. She removed the knife from the dead man and pushed the shelf away from her. She pushed the other zombie away and stuck the knife in it's head. As it fell to the floor, Louise punched the third zombie and began kicking it. She pushed it away and it fell through the broken glass door onto the corner of the street. Louise then pulled the knife from the 2nd zombies head and walked outside and stabbed the 3rd with it in the head too. Louise suddenly began to fill up - what had she become? The three men she'd just killed...yes - men, they could've had families. They could've had children. And yet she was treating them like some other virus which needed to be killed. Louise returned to the shop and saw that her cereal had now burst over the shop. She grabbed the paper and reached for another box. It wasn't corn flakes - it was suga puffs. "They'll have to do".
Louise ran out of the shop and picked up the knife from the zombies head. She ran down the street until she reached her home. She removed the board and entered the house, boarding it back up from the inside. She turned to see Amanda watching her. "Hope you like cereal!"

Amanda sat on the couch, listening to the TV, the same thing over and over again. But then suddonly, something different was broadcasted...
"...Ok, were here live in the broadcasting studio. Um, can we get the camera over here? Great, now everyone can see this. This. This creature, we found it dead on the streets. Notice the large claws, and the gorilla like body. These creatures seem to be much, much faster then the undead, and a lot stonger too. Oh, what? No sh*t Mike, dont you think I know thatAHHHH! Holy s-Theres another one, nooooo!" The screen went black, and then heavy breathing could be heard. A loud bang seemed to fill the room, as Amanda looked out in the living room, it was Louise.
Amanda heard the door open, she instantly got up from the couch and ran to the door. Louise was standing there with a box of cereal, hoping she liked it. Right about now, anything was good, its been honestly too long since shes had a nice bowl of cereal. As Amanda walked into the kitchen behind Louise, she got out two dishes, and set them on the table. She went ahead and grabbed the milk from the fridge aswell, smelling the top of it to make sure it was still good. It was two days over expiry date, yet it still smelled perfect. As she lay it on table aswell, Louise went ahead and did up the cereal for them both. But some caught Amandas attention. She walked over to the counter, and picked up the bloody knife. "What the hell happened?"

Louise made the two some cereal and reached for spoons. She placed them in the bowls and sat at the table. She handed Amanda a bowl. "Well i was hungry and decided to get some cereal. When i went to the shop it was empty. I grabbed a box, but i saw a paper on the floor. I picked it up and checked out the heading..." Louise got the paper and handed it to Amanda. "It's talking about the "attacks" in London and that. Anyway, three zombies appeared and i killed them.".
As Louise began eating her cereal she banged her hand on the table in temper. "They wasn't just zombies. They were people. People that could well of lived next door to me once, looked after me when i was a baby. One of them was the shop owner, he had a wife and 4 children. And now he's just classed as a zombie. " Louise reached for a tissue and began wiping away her tears. "I don't want to be me anymore" she sobbed. "I want to be a normal person, who lives in a world which people stay around forever, not to have to kill them when i turn 21." Louise had finally opened up, this feeling, this fear that she'd bottled up since she saw her mother dead was finally coming out, all to the ears of a 18 year old girl. Louise didn't want to put all the pressure on her, but she had to let it out. "And this! This cereal stuff is all a cover up - it's me....trying to keep hold of that little hint of reality. Me trying to convince myself that i can just go to the shop and nothing will happen. But it did! I was so close to being killed. This place that i used to call my home...it's dead...and i may as well be too!"
Louise got to her feet and ran into the kitchen. She held her head down as the warm tears trickled down her cheeks. The pressure had got to her - Louise began to think deeply about her childhood and how she wished she could go back and change this from ever happening.

Amanda sat down with Louise, as they began to eat there cereal. She was curious as to why the knife was bloody, meaning there was an attack. The knife was covered in it, must have been pretty violent, from what she could tell. But then Louise told her how emotional hard it was, and she just let loose. Amanda looked over her shoulder as she ran out of the room crying, and felt it was best to just let her come to a conclusion herself. As much as she wanted to rush in and help, she could do that, she knew herself thats its something to be one on her own. Amanda knew first hand what it was like to think that way, she went through the same feelings, and it wasnt easy to deal with her emotions.
After she finished up her cereal, Amanda slowely walked into the kitchen with both dishes, passing Louise, and placed her empty bowl in the sink. She layed the other full bowl on the counter, and then tapped Louise on the arm. "Its ok... Ive been in the same boat as before... Sorry if it sounds cold of me, but if you want, I can take you gun for you..." Amanda knew this was a bold move, taking the responsibility, but she already knew all about that. She learnt it at a young age, younger then she wouldve wanted to. But it kept her alive all these years, no complaining.

This was getting ridiculous! Pete had no idea how long he'd been trying to catch up with Harrison. It had been a good while, whatever the time was. They'd entered a residential district now and he was chasing him down a street. Harrison had slowed to a slight jog whereas Pete was even slower. He could deal with the equipment he was carrying, but his knee was now starting to kill him literally. Harrison swerved suddenly and took off down a side alley. Pete followed, he was breathing heavily but he was dead set on catching Harrison.
Harrison exited the alley, however he was getting sloppy. He caught his foot on a bin, there was a loud clang as he hit it before he staggered and tried to regain his footing. Pete came out of the alley and dived at Harrison in a last fleeting attempt to catch the traitor. The dive was true and Pete tackled the man around his middle and the pair of them thudded to the pavement. Harrison tried to aim his weapon but Pete was fueled. He wrestled with Harrison and managed to force the slide back and eject the magazine. He slammed a punch into Harrison's face and dragged the man to his feet. Shoving him hard against a car which was parked directly next to where they struggled, Pete drew his sidearm and pressed it into Harrison's neck.
"Seems the tables have been reversed" he snarled. "You got one last chance, surrender and tell us who your working for" Harrison didn't reply he just elbowed Pete in the ribs. The blow was cushioned by his body armour however, so with force Pete flung him toward the house they were next to. Harrison staggered and brought himself up to his full height. "Have it your way" Pete said calmly, before pulling the trigger. The single round hit Harrison in his chest and he slumped backward. Pete lowered the pistol and holstered it. Turning around he picked up the case that had been flung aside in the fight and placed it on the car roof. He opened up the case and glanced around him, he could hear moans but couldn't actually see anything. Glancing down quickly he removed the papers from the case. Folding them up he put them in the admin pouch on his belt before hearing something. A moan which was quite loud. His eyes flicked upward and saw further down the street a number of zombies flailing about. Hurriedly he raised his weapon and aimed at them, he wasn't going to waste ammo. Backing up slightly, he cast a quick eye back. Retreating up the steps of the house. He reached the door and quietly tried the handle.
