"You doin' okay back there Jimmy?" Rich asked as they drove back the way they came along the interstate.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he responded. "I think I gotta change the bandages though. I'll do that later."
"What about you Aryn, doin' alright?" he asked his daughter.
Aryn had her head down and her hood up. Her hands were stuffed in her jacket pockets to keep warmer. "Yeah..." she said lowly, sniffling.
"What's the matter baby? What's wrong?" he asked, stealing glances at her, but mostly keeping his eyes on the road.
"I don't want to go back to Vegas," she said, her voice cracking.
"Aww come on sweety, Vegas ain't so bad. They got slot machines, craps, Texas Hold 'em, which they'll have to rename Texas Holden once I'm through with them, heheh," he joked, trying to cheer her up.
"My real mom and dad are gonna take me away, I know it," she said, rubbing at her eyes. "And then I can't see you guys no more and I can't see Eli anymore or Jake or Chase..." she cried.
Anna looked down at her daughter and frowned, reaching her arm over to grab her and pull her closer to her. "I won't let them take you away, Aryn....I'll make sure you see your friend and our friends again too, I promise you, honey," she told her, her own voice cracking while she held onto the little girl.
"You're our daughter, no one's gonna take you away from us, just like no one's gonna take Jimmy away," Rich told her, trying his best to comfort her.
"Well that and no one wants me anyway," Jimmy mused from the back. "I mean, my existing family did sorta abandon me," he continued, chuckling a little.
"See Aryn, no one wants Jimmy, just like no one wants you, except us," Rich joked, smiling and rubbing his daughter's hood off her head.
Both Anna and Aryn began to laugh a little. "It's like how no one cares about your father, no one. They just forgot they had a son and brother...but he has us. And we have eachother," Anna told her.
"Except your mother has a family that loves her, which makes her a loser, right guys?"
"All in favor of throwing the loser into one of those chasms? Say aye," Jimmy called out.
"Aye."
"We can't throw her out. She's my love cup, and I'm not done with her yet," Rich said, smiling and holding his wife's chin.

Allison had spent the passed five or six minutes quietly to herself. Being stuck in a small car with Roger and Li was awkward. She felt like she had to watch everything she said when talking to Roger....which was beginning to irritate her. That, plus the stress of what lied in the city, had been bothering her. She was sure the massive worm, if that's what it was, was gone but that didn't mean there couldn't be more or something worse.
"I really hate this," she finally said, leaning her head in her hand against the door.
"Hate what?" Roger asked looking over at her, then back at the road, then back at her.
"I hate that everything I've tried to do since the crash has been...futile," she responded, looking out at the dense fog.
"I'd say you've been making progress," Roger told her, hoping to cheer her up.
"Right..." she trailed off, sighing.
"I suppose now isn't the best time to mention that I'd gotten in touch with Tricell HQ, is it?" Li mentioned from the back. Allison perked up a little although she'd also felt the muscles in her shoulders and neck twitch.
"What'd they have to say?" she asked.
"Well, they've marked us rogue. Apparently, they knew about the SPD incident and how you changed their orders to suit your needs." he went on to say.
Crowley leaned back in her seat again and felt a small grin come along. Of course they were upset, they hated not being listened to. They responded to it as well as a 2 year old having their toy ripped away from them.
"Well I suppose that means that someone there had reported my actions. Wonder who the traitor was..." she said, still looking out the window. "Couldn't have been the captain, I disposed of him when I was through with him," she went on to say, trying to figure out who could've been the other mole. As she did, she'd looked over at Roger for a moment. Talking about this infront of him had made her feel somewhat guilty.
"Well, Mr. Gahn and Miss. Farlund were apparently forced to take the rap for it. I doubt they were them, though," Li commented, thinking back to his physically painful time with the two. "They also seem to blame you for the Trinity Disaster," Li added.
Allison looked back out the window. "I had nothing to do with Trinity being attacked by those psychopathic monsters," she said, offended. "I admit, I could have stopped them if I tried, I'll take fault for that, but I did not initiate it," she said, almost sadly.
Li looked at her and felt a frown spread across his own face. "I know you didn't. I tried to explain that to them too but they went on to suggest that you were witholding information from me, taking advantage of my loyalty to you," he told her, expectantly.
Allison immediately turned around in her seat to look at him. "I would never abuse your or Russo, or Daryl or Irving's trust," she said, her voice raising. After a brief moment of silence, she'd felt her face heat up with anger and her ears began to sting. Sitting back in the seat again, she'd looked forward and out the windshield.
"I guess that's not entirely true..." she said, lowly. "I told Daryl he'd be safe and his family would be safe and that I'd allow him to leave..."
"He betrayed us, you made sure it wouldn't happen again. You did the right thing," Li went on to say.
"He did betray us, but he was still an old friend. And what did I do? I sent Scott out to kill him soon after he left. His wife was also killed and probably his daughters."
"You didn't order him to kill them, though. Tricell did."
"I should have stopped it."
"Stop tormenting yourself with this. You did your job."
"He was one of my best friends."
After that, there'd been another long stretch of silence. Allison sunk down in her seat and looked down at her hands. She'd removed her gloves from them placed them on her lap, looking down at the bruised up palms. "My hands are covered in everyone else's blood and it will never change. It will never wash away," she said.
"My father's blood, the multiple men and women I've killed to complete a job, Daryl, his family, other people's families, Russo and Irving...it's all here."

Back in the SUV, Aryn had been moving around alot, bumping her elbow into both her parent's ribs occasionally before finally hopping into the back seat with Jimmy. "Nnrgh, Jimmy gimme a hand," she said, stuck on the top of the seat.
Jimmy grabbed under her arms and pulled her over. "You're gettin' too heavy to throw around."
"Your face is getting heavy," she griped.
"Your mom's getting---" he began.
"Hey!" she snapped from the front seat.
"I meant her real mom, mom."
"Oh, cool. Carry on."
"Your mom's getting heavy!" Rich blurted out before Jimmy got a chance.
"Probably. I haven't seen 'er since I was four or something," Aryn said, agreeing.
"Oh hey, the lovebirds are pulling over. Guess someone needs to take a leak," Rich mentioned, seeing the car ahead of them pull into a gas station. "Guess if we're going through the city it'd be smart to make sure we don't run out of gas and end up stranded like last time."
"Last time? Last time you ran through a buncha zombies and our door was falling off...or did fall off, I can't remember. We ran through a fence too...The car was f*cked beyond repair," Anna said, undoing her seatbelt.
"Hey, that clunker got us through a lot before nearly exploding. Jimmy, Aryn, keep the car safe, will ya?" Rich told them, unbuckling and climbing out into the cold.
"Alright. If anything happens, I'll scream and p*ss myself," Jimmy mentioned, grabbing his rifle. "Aryn'll do the same but not as good as me."
"I'm sure," Rich said before slamming the door closed.
Aryn rolled down the window and stuck her head out to look at her dad. "If there's any soda in there, bring some for me!"
"Will do!" he shouted back, seeing the little girl roll up the window quickly to keep the cold air out.
Anna had followed beside him and looked back at the other car. Li was standing outside of it, leaning against his door.
"I think Rogers and Crowleys are in there...prolly tryin' to do a quicky while Li's not there to be a c*ckblock," she joked.
"Well they're gonna have to wait, cuz I don't want to have to wait out here while they're shacking up," Rich said trudging his way into the station.
When they'd both gotten into the station, they'd been pleasantly surprised to see the entire place intact.
"Well look at that, a box of Slim Jims, mine! I called it! It's all mine!" she shouted, grabbing the two boxes under her arms.
Rich however walked over to the register. With a crack of the crowbar, and an audible cha-ching, he began putting away handfuls of cash. "How do you turn the gas on at certain pumps? I've never worked at a gas station before..."
Anna had taken a bite out of a recently opened slim jim and walked over to him. "I dunno, we shoulda asked Jimmy, he's worked at one of these before, remember? This is good..want some?" she asked, placing it infront of his face.
He took a bite out of it before saying, "Alright, lets go get Jimbo."

Further in the gas station, Allison had been passing through the back fridges, looking at the stock. She wasn't really looking for anything in particular, she just wanted to get out of the stuffy car and collect herself. Stopping infront of a door, she'd pulled it open and took out a soda.
Uncapping it, she'd heard the crack and the hiss of the seal breaking then releasing the air inside. Taking a swig of it, she'd looked back down at the bottle. She hadn't had a Big Red in such a long time, she'd forgotten how good it was.
"You okay, Allison?" Roger asked, coming up beside her.
The merc had looked up from the label and looked over at him. "I'm fine...just fine..." she muttered.
"Fine as a porcupine, it looked like you were having a breakdown," he told her, putting a hand on a fridge handle.
Allison sighed inwardly and pulled her bag off of her back, opening it up and going for a few more drinks for the road. She wasn't sure what to say to Roger.
"It just feels like no matter what I do or what I say or where I go...everything I've done before this week, will continue to follow me. I never expected it to end so abruptly..or maybe I did..." she started, sadly. "I've found myself wishing Li never came back, even if it meant he was dead," she told him.
"He's my best, childhood, friend...and I wish he was dead..." she said.
"Well, hopefully you won't have to worry about this much longer. When we get your mother, hit the road, you'll have a chance to start over. You'll be a whole 'nother woman."
"Will I be? I'll always be Allison Crowley behind closed doors. The ruthless mercenary that destroyed people's lives, including her friends and her mother's," she said, wandering away from the fridge section to an aisle. Changing her name, her hair color and some clothes would never change who she was and who she always will be.

"Alright, gas should be heading to pumps three and one," Rich said after starting the pumps up.
"Sweet, let's get some snacks! Oh my God, Porkrinds! I love Porkrinds!" she said, grabbing at the rack and dumping a couple bags in her bag. "Pickles! I love pickles! Shut up, Rich," she said, grabbing a pack for herself and Aryn.
"I promised Aryn a soda, I'm sure she won't mind variety," Rich said grabbing a few liters of various colas.
"I need me some Pepsi and Pibb in my life," his wife said, wandering over to the back fridges.
"Chips, more jerky's always good, some chocolates, gotta hit all the major food groups right?" Rich muttered, grabbing at all kinds of snacks.
"I'm not sure whether we're the best parents or the worse,"Anna called out. "Oh hey, Crowleys, Rogers, Rich got the pumps working," she said.
"Didn't really need to know about your husband's E-D," the merc said, with a little humor.
"You're terrible," Anna chuckled.
"Hey girls, do you guys need these?" Rich asked holding up a package of Tampax.
"No, but that reminds me, Aryn might. Why don't you go ask her?" Anna joked.
"Oh God no, she needs her period like I need an ulcer, and Jimmy another gunshot wound. Come to think of it, if she gets hers, that'll probably follow," Rich said cringing. "I know Miss Tough Mercenary over there will probably be needing a few packages of these though," Rich called out, throwing a few box over the aisles.
After a few seconds, there'd been the sound of spitting and one of the boxes had been thrown back. "Funny," she said from the other side.
"I think it's a bit too late for that," Anna mentioned, grinning. "Actually, ya know what...I should probably get something from here while I'm here and need to pee..." she ranted on, scratching at her forehead.
"Whatcha need?" Rich asked, piling away some shaving razors while they had the chance.
"Just some stuff, hey, can you go ask Aryn if she needs to use the bathroom? That way we won't have to pull over."
"I don't want to ask my daughter to use a gas station bathroom. These things were hellish before the apocalypse, there's probably a portal to hell in there now," Rich said, cringing. "A portal to hell formed from a thin layer of pee, and thick layer of turdfitti shaped in some satanic image. Uggh..."
"Gross, Rich," she said, grimacing. "Alright, well, I can take her out back. Can ya go get her, please?" she asked again.
"Alright," he said, stepping out from behind the aisles with a large amount of miscellaneous products packed away in hand baskets.

When Rich had left the aisle, Anna had wandered over into the very aisle and started grabbing an armful of boxes. She'd looked down at them and sighed. She'd been feeling a little weird lately, increased appetite, a little nausea, cravings and constant emotional breakdowns. All the same symptoms she had when she first found out Lucy was in her immediate future.
As she grabbed them, she'd rounded the corner and nearly bumped into Crowley. The merc looked down at the multiple tests in her arms and then looked back up at her with a raised brow.
"Worried?" she asked.
"Very...uh, you should uh..." she began, looking around to make sure Roger wasn't about either.
"Yeah, yeah, I know," Allison cut her off, walking down the aisle. Anna nodded a bit and hurried out the station. When she did, Aryn had been running upto her, smiling.
"I don't hafta pee, but I'll keep ya company," she said.
"You really should try to go, though, while we're here," she told her, trying to adjust the boxes away from her daughter. Aryn, trying to sneak a peek at them, frowned. "What're those?"
"They're... period related stuff, it's gross," she suddenly said.
"Ewww...alright, nasty," Aryn choked out, sticking her tongue out.
Back in the store, Allison had grabbed what she needed and packed it away before heading toward the door. Stopping there, she'd pushed it open slightly and looked back. "I'm going to fill up the car, I'll be outside if you need me, Roger," she told him.
"Well I can just put this in the car, I'll come with you," he said following her out the door with his own basket of supplies.
"Alright," she said, smiling at him a little as she crossed the parking lot to the pumps. She'd looked over at the car and frowned, not really prepared to continue another long car ride.
"You know, when we get the chance, we should probably have a talk about, erm, things." she told him.
"What kind of things?"
"Family planning, sorts of things," she said, feeling her face flush.
"Ahh, those kind of things," Roger said, his face reddening as well.
Allison managed to crack a smile though at the idea of being a mother. "Yep, those sorts of things..."

With the gas tanks filled, bladders emptied, and food and other essentials packed away, the two vehicles headed off onto the road once more.
"Lets see what's on the radio," Rich said turning it on. Static permeated the vehicle before he shut it back off. "Well, nice to know the boys in blue are doing okay," he joked.
There'd been a short awkward silence afterwards.
"It's quiet..." Jimmy suddenly muttered.
"There anything in the glove compartment?" Rich asked, looking over at it. "Maybe some unread mail, or some candy wrappers?"
"Huh? Oh, uh..." Anna murmured, reaching over and pulling on the little handle to find it locked. "It's locked..." she said, lowly.
"We got a crowbar, Jimmy hand your mother the crowbar."
"Dad, what the hell is with you and breaking into locked things? It's like, like some sort of instinct for you," Jimmy chuckled, handing over the crowbar.
"When you've broken into as many things as I have son, it comes to you like breathing," he said, departing his wisdom.
"Yes...yes I understand now..." Jimmy said.
"Mom's pregnant!" Aryn suddenly blurted out before slapping her hands over her mouth and staring wide-eyed at her mother.
There was a pause. The vehicle became quiet save for the sounds of the wheels, engine, and heater.
"Anna?" Rich suddenly said.
Popping open the glove compartment, she'd smiled nervously. "Oh look at that, got it open. I don't see anything in it, just papers and...uh...what the hell...?" she said, pulling out something taped beneath the top side. "And what looks like a little grass."
"Anna, you've got a baby in you. My baby."
Anna had been looking down at the dime bag, fumbling with it in her hands. "Yep, we're going to be parents. Again," she said, a little shyly.
Rich reached his arm out and grabbed his wife's shoulder, pulling her towards him and laying her head on his chest. He was at a loss for words, which rarely happened, but this was a happy loss.
"I was waiting to tell you when we got to Vegas but I guess that ain't happenin' anymore, thank you very much, Aryn," Anna said, leaning against her husband.
"Hey! I should be angry, I'm the baby of the family and now that thing is going to be the baby of this family and you're all going to forget about me! That's how it was with Lucy and that's how it's gonna be with him or her!" she whined, pouting.
Jimmy reached over, flicking her in the ear. "Stop bein' a brat, brat,"
"You're face is a brat..." she muttered, upset.
"Aryn, shush, this is a good thing," Rich said, rubbing his wife's shoulders and holding her close and tight.
"Pfft...we need a baby like Jimmy needs a dirty magazine and ten minutes alone."
"I need that very much, actually."
"Why...? Jake didn't explain that joke to me!"
After awhile in the car Aryn had been looking out the window, wondering how all of her old friends from Trinity were...how Eli was. She hadn't seen him since the SPD incident. As she thought about it, she'd suddenly seen something swoop by in the sky. It was huge with massive wings and a long neck.
"Woah! I think I saw a dragon!" she suddenly yelped.
"Aryn, you could not have seen a dragon, they don't exist anymore," Rich told her.
"I swear! It was ginormous! It had a long neck and big wings and it looked scary!" she tried, looking around outside for it.
"You ever see anything like that Anna?" Rich asked, looking down at her.
"A giant bird? Not that I know of..." she said, a little uneasy. "Man, birds usually mean nests and if what she saw was an enormous bird..."
"Hopefully it was just a trick of the light, or a plane or something," Rich said, getting nervous as well.

As the two vehicles neared the city, suburbia began to spring up around them. Corner liquor stores, wedding gown rentals, barbers, and video stores rose up as they left behind winding homes and sidewalks. Soon they reached the center of town, with it's tall buildings and labyrinthian streets.
"I still don't see any infected..." Allison mentioned, nervously.
"While I'd like to say that here in Kansas we're raised well enough to escape a zombie plague before it hits, I don't think that's the case here," Roger said, seeing eviscerated carcass lay on the opposite lane.
"Whatever made the chasms, might've...well no..." she trailed off, trying to figure out where the infected might've gone. "So...how much longer until we reach the other airport?" she asked.
"Well we gotta find the chasm first, then we run the length of it 'till we find the end. If there isn't one, then we find a way across. A slightly tipped over building, or a crane would work. Hell, if we can find a car transport, make ourselves a bridge over the smallest part," Roger suggested.
"Well, hopefully it won't lead to any of that and we'll find the end of it...but if we don't, then, well, I guess it's worth a shot," Allison said, looking out the window.

As they drove the carcasses they saw painted a bleak picture of what had occurred. SWAT vans lay empty, rear doors ajar alongside ruined barricades laid out over streets paved in dried blood and gore. Civilians, police, and a few bundles of dead soldiers lay about. It would be tempting to stop and see what they could scavenge, but it was safer to keep inside and moving than to risk a possible spare clip or rifle.
Roger, Allison, and Li felt a loud rumbling beneath their vehicle, then heard a louder crack before suddenly being jolted forward as the road under their car collapse and caved in. The trio held on to whatever they could, but just as everything started it stopped.
The family behind them had a better view of the action from where they were. Seemed like the road just caved in a bit, causing the small four-door's front end to dip into a newly formed pothole.
"Holy sh*t!" Anna yelped, grabbing onto the dashboard and leaning forward to look at the car. "Christ, are they alright?" she asked aloud.
Inisde the car, Roger's and Crowley's airbags went off giving them a softer landing than Li who had fallen onto the front seats and held on to keep from rolling over onto the dash.
"Phew, well damn, didn't expect that!" Roger said, pushing the inflated safety device out of his face.
Allison pushed her own airbag out of her face and grunted. "f**k.." she said, looking back at Li and then at Roger. "You alright?"
"Yeah I'm alright, how ya doin' back there Li?"
"Fine, fine. I think I have whip-lash though," the merc said, rubbing at his sore neck.
"Next time, wear a seatbelt," Allison told him, chuckling.
Roger unbuckled his and tried to pop the door open. It caught on some debris, so he shielded his face and busted the window open. After crawling out about halfway, he propped himself onto a bit of rubble and looked back at the damage.
"Well we might be able to get it out. Not sure if it'll run through..." he murmured. Looking up he saw that the Holden's SUV was safe and sound, just stopped a little ways behind them. "We're fine!" he called out, waving a hand about.

Anna poked her head out from the passenger's side of the truck when she'd seen Roger coming out from their car window. Everything was apparently okay, minus their car.
" Man! That was friggin' close!" she shouted out, waving an arm back. As she did, she'd looked back in to assure her family everything as alright.
"They're fine, better get our asses out and go help them get the car out of that---" she was suddenly cut off as the ground began quaking under their stopped car, looking over at the cause of it, there'd been a giant snake darting toward them with it's mouth wide open. Before she could say another word, she'd ducked away into the vehicle as the SUV had been partially covered by it's mouth and pushed sideways along the road.
"Oh sh*t!" Rich screamed as their vehicle scraped along the side of the road. His head turned immediately to look at the beast, but he could only see the inside of it's large gaping maw. "F*ck! Anna, Jimmy, shoot it!" he shouted.
Aryn had been screaming her head off, expletives and the like, trying to reach for her now fallen .32 on the car floor. Jimmy was grimacing at the sudden jerk of the car that ached his wound. "Argh! Alright, on it!" he said, rolling his window down and taking shots at it with his rifle.
Anna had been reaching for her shotgun, she had five frag rounds that'd come in handy, but seeing as how they were still partially in it's mouth, it'd be too dangerous to set them off now. Instead, she'd used one of the other drums and pulled back the trigger. Rapid shots fired through it's mouth, tearing into the slimy interior.
"F*ck! F*ck! F*CK! F*CK!" she yelled.

"Oh sh*t, outta the car!" Roger shouted, climbing and pulling his way out onto the road. Allison and Li followed after, both mercenaries climbing up to the road with their weapons drawn.
"It's a snake," Li said, watching the scene unfold before them.
"No sh*t," Allison snarked, trying to figure out what to do. "We've gotta help them."
Roger pulled out his sidearm and started firing into the snake's scaley hide. The low caliber did little to the creature, but he felt like he had to do something.
The snake however was having more difficulty eating this strange metal meal than it previously thought. The pain it was causing it's throat was excruciating, but only made it bite down harder than before.
Anna had been shoving her recently engaged airbag out of her face it having went off right when she was reloading. "F*ck this! I'm gonna try to get it in the f*cking brain!" she said, climbing out of the window with her weapon.
"Anna, get back in here!" Rich yelled grabbing onto her. As he grabbed at her, the SUV came to a sudden stop as it crashed into the side of a building. Broken glass and crushed metal all mixed with the sound of screaming. The roof of the vehicle began to cave as the support gave way to the snake's crushing jaw.

Anna had been pulled back into the vehicle when it suddenly crashed, leaving her shoulders and arms flailing and bashing into the door's window pane. She had mere seconds to collect herself, climb back out and start pointing the shotgun upwards, she'd squinted her eyes and began unleashing a hellish fury of shrapnel rounds into the roof of it's mouth.
Meanwhile, the other three had been taking as many shots as they could at the snake as it made off with the Holdens. When forced to reload, Crowley had been patting herself down for another clip and swore.
"I left my ammo bag in the car, hold on a second," she told Roger and Li before trying to get back to the car.
As soon as she was back inside the car, a loud hissing noise came from a building nearby. Li and Roger turned their attention towards it in time to see another giant snake slither it's way out of a large hole in the skyscaper and start their way.
"Allison, another one comin' our way!" Roger shouted jumping down into the pothole and firing at it.
Li had taken off in the opposite direction, avoiding the snake's path and attention. He didn't want to leave them with it alone, but it was his best chance to snipe at it and end it before it could take a bite at them.
Crowley had been grabbing her bag and rifle out of the front seat when she'd heard Roger's yelling. He'd jumped back into the hole with her and started taking shots at what appeared to be another snake. Li wasn't with him.
She'd quickly got around the car and started firing at the monster while it wrapped itself around the pothole, in a vain attempt to constrict the vehicle in it.
"Guess we're lucky the snake's an idiot!" she called out.

"Maybe not, it's got us boxed in!" Roger shouted as he clicked the trigger on his now empty handgun. "I'm out!"
Allison looked over at him momentarily while she loaded another clip in her assault rifle. She'd reached for her handgun from her back holster and handed it to him.
"Here, you can use this!" she told him.
"Alright thanks," Roger said, taking it and immediately putting it to good use.
Meanwhile, Li had been climbing up the grill of a cargo truck, making his way uptop. He'd unfastened the sniper rifle from his back and set up the collapsible bipod. Getting down on his belly, he'd peeked through his scope and took careful aim of the giant snake curling up around the pothole Crowley and Roger were in.
All the while the Holden's were no help, as they were busy trying to dislodge themselves from the crushed suburban and the now viscerally lobotomized anaconda attached to it.
Jimmy, at this point, had been glad that his mother was such a good problem solver. Especially when a shotgun was placed in her hands. He'd have been more terrified of the matter at hand if it weren't for the excruciating pain in his gut. Aryn, on the other hand, had been ducking low between the seats, whimpering and cowering. She was deathly afraid of whether or not her mother was dead and if they were gonna be next.
"Anna, you alright? Kids?" Rich called out, pushing the roof upwards a bit. It was stuck a bit under the snake's jaw, but it wasn't pressing down anymore.

Anna had been covered in Snake blood and saliva, when she'd pulled herself back into the SUV, her side of the vehicle wasn't as bad as the side her son and husband were on. She'd struggled to move around under the dented in roof, but she managed.
"I'm fine, I think it's dead," she said, brushing herself off. "Kids?" she tried, looking around the seat.
"I'm...okay...ah...just...just having some issues," Jimmy told them, clenching his side. Aryn had still been between the seat, laying on her belly with her arms over her head. She was trembling violently.
"Aryn, honey, it's alright, it's dead," Anna tried, feeling sorry for her.
"Yeah, still weighs a ton though," Rich said, grabbing his crowbar off the floor. "If you can hold the roof up a bit, I think I can slide out the windshield and pry it's carcass off."
"Alright," Anna responded, pushing her shoulders and hands into the roof and trying to prop it up. "Urgh...might wanna...hurry," she told him. Rich kicked and shoved his way through the scattering of broken glass onto the hood of the suburban. He then carefully stood up, wary of getting his hands messed up by the glass.
"Sh*t, those other f*ckers got a snake on 'em too!" he yelled as he jammed the crowbar under the snake's fang and pried it up a bit. "Dammit this thing's wedge tight!"
"F*ckin' eh....Aryn, help me push the roof up!" Anna told her. "We have to help your father if we want to get out," she told her.
Aryn reluctantly looked up at the sinking roof and frowned. She'd wiped at her eyes a little and got up, climbing onto the seat and pushed her hands into it, trying to apply as much strength as she could. As she did, Jimmy had sucked back the aching and pushed his own shoulders and weight into it.
"Jimmy cut it out! You're going to strain yourself!" Anna called, concerned.
"I'm fine...just keep...pushing..." he told his mother through gritted teeth.
"God dammit, Jimmy!"

With the whole of his family pushing the snake's jaw back, Rich was able to get enough leverage to start shoving it off.
As he pushed it's head sideways, towards the rear of the SUV, one of it's fangs tore a gash across the metal roof as well as making a horrible sound.
Aryn screamed, a little more than terrified at the noise and the giant fang cutting through the roof. The three of them had moved aside from it, covering their ears in an desperate attempt to mute it.
"Sonuva b*tch!" Anna swore.
"Sh*t that's annoying!" Rich swore as well, before getting the bulk of the snake's upper maw off the roof. It crush the back of the vehicle a bit, and was on an angle, but that was the best he could do given the circumstances.
"Alright, I'll get the roof while you get the kids out of there," Rich told his wife as he started lifting the front of the roof up. It raised up higher than expected, with the metal connecting it to the rest of the chassis broken apart.
Anna had reached her arms out, grabbing at her daughter and pulling her upto the front seat. Helping her upto the dashboard, she'd pushed her out onto the crushed hood where she'd hopped off and ran out to her father's side.
"Alright, Jimmy, you next, c'mon," she said, reaching over to help her teenage son move across. He'd grimaced and flopped over, trying his best not to strain his side anymore than he already had. Anna could clearly make out the faint splotch of blood where his bandaging was.
"Come on, sweety...c'mon," she said softly, helping him climb out of the broken windshield window. As he did, she'd grabbed as many of the bags as she could, tossing them out with little effort before climbing out herself. When she'd gotten out onto the street, she'd grabbed at both her kids and held onto them tightly.
"Are you all okay?" Rich asked taking a knee by them and looking the three of them over.
Aryn nodded and frowned. "Yeah, I'm okay, just...just got somethin' in my eye is all," she said, rubbing at her eye. "Wait, oh no! My thirty-two!" she suddenly yelped, trying to climb back into the totalled truck.
"Good to know she's gonna be fine, how ya feelin'?"
"Fine, fine, I'm okay. One hundred percent," he said, zipping his hoodie up to cover his wound. "What about...what about you guys?" he asked, wincing.
"Nothin' your old man can't handle, Anna?"
