When they arrived at the hospital, it was just as Jonathan had remembered it being the last time he'd been in Raccoon City - abandoned and as dead on the outside and in as those walking the streets. Anything worth taking inside would have likely been taken in the first weeks following the outbreak and he saw no reason to waste time blundering around inside such a dilapidated building for things that weren't there. Nevertheless, he had agreed to go along with their decision and wasn't going to go back on his word after having walked all the way there.
He moved right up the steps, carelessly about what could be waiting inside for them but came to find the lobby empty of anything save for clutter, dusk and old newspaper clippings from 1998. He could remember the day of the outbreak like it had happened the day before, though was certain neither of the two young women in his company had that luxury which was for the best. If they'd seen him then, they'd know he wasn't who he claimed to be. He took a look around the lobby, then listened as Nova told July to leave she and him alone for a moment.
He arched a brow before watching July leave, then turned toward Nova, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall, "Sending her away? You must be very confident in her abilites to defend herself, but also doubt her ability to handle our conversation. Why? Or better yet: what, do you want to ask me?"

Nova watched as July moved away. She had no doubt she could handle the conversation. She was only worried about what could possibly happen, and though July had the ability to protect herself from a lot of things in the city she doubted she could against two individuals who weren't quite human. An if she was to go into her Feral state she really didn't want July in the area. She sighed a bit before turning to look at this deciver. The question was; was he really like her or something else. She knew there were others out there like her, but besides the lab she never really faced one on the streets. As she eyed him she couldn't help but be surprised at how casual this seemed to him. She shook her head in thought for a moment as she weighed her options, but it was better to get the truth now then wait on him and she knew what that was going to tell him about her.
"July can handle herself," she finally spoke up as she turned to look in the direction that July went. "She could handle this conversation. It's the possible outcome that I worry about with her," she turned back to look at him. "She seems more level headed in these situations than any adult would be," she pointed out. She paused as the sound of gunfire echoed above them. She listened intently to see if July was in trouble, but after she heard her soft foot steps once more she was satisfied to continue. "No, sir or who ever you are. We have one slight problem here. You are trouble that I can see, but the question is to this little group that you come across are you good trouble or are you the type to stab us in the back the first chance you get. As I see it you've already lied to us once, and the second thing you're hidding a dark secret from July." She paused for a moment as she heard July come down the stairs and sighed a bit. She was hoping that the girl would be gone longer, but was also a bit surprised to find that she could search so quickly. "What are you?"

Going down stairs was one of the easiest things that July had ever had to do. All she ever needed to do was slide down the banisters or jump down multiple sets at a time. This was not one of those times. Had a normal person ran after her, thinking she had (and probably did) steal something of there's, she could easily outrun them. Unfortunately, she had barely been able to get away from the frog-monster, which was still right on her heels. Even worse was the fact that the frog had not gone after the crazy man with the knife. They were trying to kill her and if she did not find a way to get rid of them, they would succeed.
She nearly tripped going down the stairs, which should have been near impossible since the clothes she was wearing actually fit for once. By the time she landed on the first floor, she had finally stopped tripping over her own feet. Unfortunately, now she had to worry about things all over the floor that had been spilt by someone or something. The floors were dirty with spots of blood, dirt, and other items found all over the hospital. July had no time to figure out where to go next because in a split second, the frog jumped from behind her to right in front of her. Had she not stumbled backward and fallen on her behind, she probably would have had her face slashed. The man was still laughing, but walking down the stairs slowly. Great, the monster goes after me, but ignores the bigger guy. July thought to herself as she quickly turned to her knees, jumped to her feet and began to run in the opposite direction of the Hunter.
As she ran, she pushed chairs behind her to buy her some time, but the monster either ran through it or jumped over it completely. Suddenly, there was a gurney in her way. While she did not have time to jump over it, she did have time to slide under it, something Jana taught her, though it wasn't something she had completely mastered at her young age. It was just enough for her to gain a little distance between her and the monster. However, she needed to hide in a little room, one that was nearby and hopefully unoccupied. July didn't care which room it was so long as she was safe enough. She grabbed the first room to her left.
The room was unlocked and clean enough. There was no blood, but it looked as if it was ransacked and the bed clean and inviting to the eye of a tired person. This was no time to sleep and she knew she had to escape quickly, but there were no windows on the door for her to see if the monster was outside of the door and the door was too thick for her to hear. Thankfully, there was a hole in the wall connecting to the next room just small enough for a person her size. She took it and crawled through the hole and entered a room identical to the one she just left.
July quietly opened the door and peeked outside. She was on the other side of the gurney and the monster going down the hallway. This was her one chance to run. As soon as she took five steps, her foot accidentally kicked a chair and caught the Hunter's attention. It turned and began to move towards her. Oh $h!t, oh $h!t, oh $h!t. July cursed as she continued to run towards the lobby and Nova and the man. She hated asking for help, but this time she was actually quite scared and needed it. She entered the lobby and ran towards Nova. Hopefully she gave them enough time to chat.

"Do you commonly make misplaced assertions," he asked while maintaining a calm demeanor leaned against the wall, his eyes simply regarding her with a cold expression as if there was no feeling whatsoever left in the man behind them. Unshakable and uncaring. Soul-less and not even acknowledging the gunfire as July had. "If I were planning to stab you in the back, do you believe I'd be so stupid as to reveal that to you? That would be counter-productive to that hypothetical plan, I'd say.Perhaps I was less than honest with you, and you saw that, good job. That doesn't mean I'm going to open up to you now." Jonathan arched a brow, making certain to not give away any information as to his identity or what he was up to, managing to keep his answers very vague at the best and open to any sort of interpretation the young woman could manage to come up with. Uncrossing his arms and stepping off the wall, he spoke up again. "Suffice to say this arrangement to travel together is nothing more than convenience. You two are better off with the other pair of eyes and I'm better off with two others - it's symbiotic at best."
"Now...rather than twenty questions, is there any other way you wish to waste valuable time and risk the life of your friend? Or should I search for a deck of cards and intact bottle of whiskey," he smirked and turned, walking to the other side of the wrecked lobby, looking down at some of the long dead then turned back to her, "I don't care who or what you are. It's irrelevant to the situation or to me personally; the same goes for you. What and who I am doesn't concern you. There's no reason for me to stab you in the back or even help you. Yet here I am. Funny how things work isn't it?" At that given moment, in came the other girl making Jonathan look toward the door, the look on her face evident of issue upstairs as if the gunfire hadn't made that much clear to both of them in the lobby.
He sighed, able to see the trouble following the girl and glanced at July, "Brilliant..."

Nova couldn't help but let out a sigh. This conversation could have gone one of two ways, and to be honest it was this way that she didn't want. It may not have verified anything as to what he was. Though one thing struck a chord with her. The way he acted reminded her so much of her keeper, and in a way it sent chills down her back. She looked down at her hands and gripped them in fist as she thought of the final betrayal before she was left to die in that lab. The footsteps brought her back to reality as she looked up at the so called ‘Will' as he headed for the door. She eyed the door as the sound of soft footsteps moving quickly followed by louder ones echoed to her ears. It was evident that July was being chased, but she seemed to have some lead way on the creature. The scent was growing stronger the closer they grew, and it was starting to get easier to tell what it was. "Hunter," she moaned before Jonathan opened the door and July came running through.
At July moved toward her the creature followed quickly behind. As it reached the door frame it seemed stuck on one target, and that was July; it leapt through the air toward the girl. Nova sighed heavily as she knew that this couldn’t be avoided. She just hoped that she could end this quickly before her Feral took over. July was just too close for that to happen right now. She quickly moved to meet July, and intercept the monster. Her hands gripping the wrist as the creature came down. The claws made it hard to grab the hands, and that was a self-correcting measure when that happened before. Though back then she had someone to tell her how to fight these creatures he just stood back and let her find out on her own. She felt the dizzying vertigo that started the process to her feral state. Though it didn’t help her current situation, and instead she had to fight for her footing again as the creature pushed her back.
Nova shook her head and let go of the Hunter’s right hand. As it swiped at her she shifted and grabbed it’s other arm with her other hand. With the extra leverage she was able to throw the creature across the lobby. As soon as she let go of the creature she staggered slightly. Her hand instantly going to cover her eyes. The burning sensation could only tell her what was happening to her eyes. “July,” she growled slightly as she fought the phase she knew she couldn’t win. “Run from this room, and don’t look back.” She bit her lip as she struggled, but was losing. An then the growl of the Hunter caused her head to snap up. Her eyes had shifted to blood red, and she grinned as the Hunter was moving toward her. She moved forward to meet the creature, and as it moved to attack she gripped its arm. Shifting slightly she threw the creature directly at the wall beside Jonathan. As the creature contacted the wall she was already beside the creature, and driving her fist into its chest and knocking it through the door.

July ran behind Nova without looking back although she heard it running behind her. Then the noises somewhat stopped. She turned around and saw Nova grabbing onto the hand of the Hunter. As she watched Nova, July looked into her gun and noticed it was half emptied, but it was enough to possibly take care of the monster that had chased her without taking even a little swing at the crazy man with the knife (wherever he was right now) with some help from Nova and Jonathan.
When Nova let go of one of the Hunter's arms, July raised her gun, ready to fire if necessary. There was no way she was willing to die by a mutated animal. She already avoided the dogs and she would be damned if her life was taken away by some huge frog.
Then, to her surprise, Nova grabbed the Hunter with her free hand and threw the creature against the wall. This did not surprise the teenager. Back in Collins, when there was a free day, the stronger members would often prove their strength. There was one time when Icepick was able to pick up the extremely fat Chunks and throw him against a dumpster across the street. He was drunk and a little high on meth at the time, but it was still quite impressive.
Then came the order, “July, run from this room, and don’t look back.” July chose to ignore it. Her next words were, "Forget it. I'm not going to leave." Her gun was aimed at the Hunter whenever and wherever it moved, but she still had not fired a shot. She continually watched Nova during the fight while aiming at the monster. The more intense it got, the more she was impressed and the less she was somewhat frightened by the threat of the Hunter. She was just as impressed when Nova's hand went through the Hunter's chest. She was currently near the top of the list of toughest people she knew.
Then, more sounds came from down the hall followed by giggling. The person making the noises came into the room and seemed unfazed by the surroundings. He walked towards the group still swinging "Maria" and beginning to hum some unknown tune. July let out an annoyed sigh. When the hell was the man going to leave her alone and when was some monster going to get a hold of him?

Jonathan didn't so much as lift a finger to aid in the fight and simply walked over to the nearest wall and rested against it as he had just moments before, crossing his arms and watching the situation unfold as the Hunter came into the lobby. During his time with Umbrella, he was aware of the failings on Dr. Marcus' team's efforts to create an amphibious hunter, but could recall that the project was picked up by a European division ten years later; MA-124, or "Frogger", was transported to the Raccoon City Facility shortly before the outbreak of 1998. How such a creature managed to survive so long with dwindling food supplies and even less water of the years amazed Jonathan at how resilient the species turned out to be.
The man's eyes watched for a few moments, seeing what Nova was truly capable of forcing him to arch his brow with a hint of a grin. It suddenly all made sense to him as to how she was able to realize he wasn't quite human so quickly - she wasn't either. Still, he didn't feel the need to slam his fist through a steel doorway or jet across the room in a blur of black to prove anything. Instead, he simply sidestepped when the Hunter Y came toward him and slammed into the wall beside him before Nova made short work of it.
Jonathan finally stood off the wall, and narrowed his eyes at the young girl, "You really need to learn when to listen. If you aren't even going to fire that bloody thing, why hold it up?" He moved in front of her, reached into his coat, drew his handgun and took aim at the newcomer with the knife, walking toward him and firing rounds off repeatedly toward him with every step. While he didn't hit his head, he did manage to land six bullets into the man's chest bringing him to the ground and the knife fell to the dirty floor with a cling. Jonathan closed the distance and looked down at the man without the slightest thread of emotion, took aim between his eyes and squeezed off a finishing shot. "The doctor is out." His muse was a knock on the white coat which he wore covered in blood before he turned, holstered his weapon and made his way back toward July.
"Sorry," he began, "he wasn't a friend of yours, was he? Best keep an eye on him - may not be dead. If not, you're welcome to shoot him. Now... onto the Hunter..." he turned to Nova then stepped over to where she'd sent the hunter, "There has to be a water supply or possibly burst pipes beneath this hospital for that particular designation of Hunter to be in here."

(( sorry about the late post. Got really sick))
Nova panted slightly as she stepped back from the creature. None of these pathetic humans would run from her . . . no that wasn't right. She shook her head as her hands gripped her head. It wasn't right the threat was dealth with, and she still had the urge to attack the others. This had to have been why her keeper left her to die. She hated this feeling . . . the urge to kill everything she seen. She hated to kill, and was forced to kill even now after being freed. Staggering back away from the creature she had to fight with herself. This was different now. She no longer had a keeper to order her to do things or run or nock her out when this state took over. No she was alone now with one that all she could hope she could do was get off a shot that would stop her, and even then Nova didn't know if that was possible. All she could do was fight it. Even worse she hated the weakened state it put her in afterwords, but at this moment she was welcoming it. They said the soft side of her was her flaw, but she believed that her Feral side was her flaw. They couldn't control her in her Feral state and she couldn't help but smile at the thought of her slaughtering so many workers before she was freed. An then there was the memory that allowed her feral state to take over.
Her hand dropped from her head as she looked at the man standing beside her. He wasn't human and would possess the biggest threat. She looked back at July who refused to run from the room. She wasn't a threat, but the weapon was. A good shot could end this quickly, and from what she had seen there was a great possibility that she could land that shot. At this moment she had to get the weapon away from July and then deal with the man. Nova turned toward July, and as she did she could still feel something trying to hold her back. She shook her head as she made her way to July only to stop mid step. Her hand drifted to her head as her next step was a stagger. Then there was this flaw in her Feral state. She couldn't maintain it too long. Feral always drained her, and even quicker now that she really didn't have any energy to begin with.
Nova's next step put her on the ground as she hit hard. She breathed heavily as the blood red color drained from her eyes allowing the dull gray color return. She closed her eyes, and tried to pull the hood further over her head. It could never be one or the other. It always had to be both. She couldn't forget about herself and remain in the Feral state and slaughter everything without worry. She couldn't remain in this state where she could help anyone she wanted without worrying. She had to be both. Cursing herself she couldn't believe how close she had come to taking an innocent life, and it wasn't Jonathan she was thinking about. He had to much blood on his hands and she could tell that from his personality alone. Nova drew her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, but as she laid there Jonathan's earlier thought about the water supply was answered. She opened her eyes at the sound she was hearing. She sighed a bit as she covered her head with her hands. "Water," she spoke lightly. "Water system run beneth this facility." She shook her head a bit. "I can hear the running water."

July rolled her eyes at Jonathan when he insulted her aiming her gun at the monster while it was still alive. Had he been aware that she was already starting to get a little low on bullets, she would have made a smart-mouthed remark at him, but she let it slide for this time. Then came the killing of the crazy man. As soon as the bullets stopped shooting, July started to walk to the body. He stopped moving and "Maria" lay by his body. July didn't even need to touch the body to know he was dead. "Sorry. He wasn't a friend of yours was he?" July turned her head towards Jonathan after he asked that question and said in a monotone voice, "I needed him alive." She reached down, grabbed the bloodied Maria, and placed "her" in the packs she carried.
She took this time to also dig though his pockets in case he had something else of use. There wasn't too much: a $50 bill, a lighter, a pack of cigarettes, and a key that could go to anywhere. The cigarettes meant nothing to her, but she could use the money and maybe the lighter so she packed those away along with Maria. Because she had no idea where the key went to, she left it on top of his body. The man's identity would probably remain a mystery forever and he would never be able to tell her the whereabouts or past of "Dr. Caden."
As she was doing that, she listened to the short conversation about the Hunter and the water. She couldn't hear the water running, but if Nova said there was and this one branch of Hunter was wandering around like Jonathan insinuated, there would probably be more. "Wait, so there are more of those 'Hunters' or whatever the hell they are? I ain't sure I got enough bullets to take care of 'em." She asked in surprise. She wanted this to be a one-time thing like that one time when she met up with a very rabid dog on the streets. She saw it once and didn't want to see it again.
July then took notice of Nova. Something about her told July that Nova was possibly someone that could be trusted, especially since she had not tried to get into the past or business of the teenager. She was also starting to look somewhat fatigued, which probably meant that she was not stronger than some of the people she associated with. Maybe she needed to sit down for a few minutes or something. So far, the lobby was safe unless a zombie or another Hunter came out but eventually the small group would have to leave either through the front door or through the underground waterway, which was hopefully not the sewers.
"We ain't going after them things are we?" she asked once again in her emotionless voice. She didn't mind too much so long as Nova did most of the work getting rid of the monsters.

"What a shame," he mused with an apathetic shrug, "even dead men have their uses, my dear. What use you could have had for a madman eludes me entirely, but to each their own." He watched as she went through the man's belongings, turning back to the hole and listening to the water that Nova heard below. It was definitely a water system likely running through the ruins of the old labs in the hospital basement levels and overflowing from the sewer entrance which led to Birkin's old lab - which is where he needed to go for what he came to Raccoon for. He had no doubt that getting the two girls to go along with heading to ground zero for the 1998 outbreak would be a difficult task, though if all else failed, he knew he could go alone.
"That's not all that's underneath this hospital," he stated turning from the hole and walking back toward the center of the room, "the basement levels may hold interest to you given your past, though it's likely cleaned out of anything important. You can also follow the sewer to more Raccoon relics of its dark past should you so desire." He spotted the cigarettes and he furrowed his brows for a moment, then shook his head slightly, pulling his own pack and lighter out; he stuck one into his mouth and lit it, enjoying it for a moment. He listened to July's question then glanced back to Nova with a sneer.
"Though it seems your friend here doesn't wish to go. It's probably for the best. One Frogger nearly killed her. Even with your skills, you can't guarantee her safety in a place where they've nested." Jonathan looked back at July and walked back over to the body of the insane man, having spotted the key from across the room that she'd just laid on him. "But... as I've said, this is a matter of convenience. The choice you make will be the one I follow." He wanted to add a 'for now' but didn't see how it would have done anything to help matters. He knew the enhanced human was suspicious of him and the other girl hadn't liked him from the start. Despite all of that, he had to keep them both alive until the time came when he got what he wanted and no longer had use of them; it was the general scheme of things.
He knelt by the body of the man, looking him over, not recognizing him as someone he'd seen before either from the hospital nor Umbrella and was likely just someone who'd lost their mind following the wake of the outbreak and the ensuing death of everything else. Some people couldn't cope. Then again, he may have been a new doctor or intern to the hospital that Jonathan hadn't got the chance to meet before things went to hell. He took another drag from his cigarette and went to flick the ashes, making sure to sweep his hand across the top of the man, taking the key and standing back up, muttering to the corpse. "Who are you...?" He slid the key into his pocket then turned back to the women, waiting for their next move.

Nova sat up and wrapped her arms around her. She watched Jonathan and his reaction to the man that had been chasing July. She sighed a bit as she looked down at the ground. She needed time to rest and gather up her strength, but in a place like this without her Keeper she knew that she wouldn't get it. She looked up at July and thought about what Jonathan had said. Sure she knew what else could be down there, and from the looks of it this man did as well. She had a feeling that July probably wouldn't have any problem down there, but until she gathered her strength back she was usless to them. She sighed a bit cursing herself. If she could only stay out of the feral state she would do so much better, and she wouldn't have to deal with these weak stages after words.
She looked up at the man. He knew what she was, and there was no use hiding the one major flaw because they both had seen it. Though if she didn't speak up they might ignor it, and that could cause problems later on. Nova sighed a bit. "I wouldn't mind to venture down there into the hidden labs," she pointed out as she looked at the man. "They could hold many secrets that I seek, but . . . " she trailed off as she looked at July. "When I enter what they call a feral state I lose all control. That's why I asked you to run. I attack anything and everything in the area. Usually my fits last longer than what you seen, but thankfully I was already tired." She turned to look down at the ground for a moment. "I have no doubt that even with those creatures down there July could survive. In fact I think she would probably have a better chance than we would if we got swarmed. The issue at hand is me." She looked up at Jonathan. "As you can see when I come out of that state it drains my energy. Right now I am usless to help either of you until I can build up my strength."
Using both her hands to push her up out of the floor she staggered slightly before gaining her footing. She turned to look at July. "I did not mean to hide this issue from you, but I was hoping that I could control it." She sighed a bit before. "Though I knew I would never be able to it's still a hope in side of me that I still can. July the labs below. I will leave you to decide on that. I have no problems going, but I ask that you allow me to rest for a bit longer so I wont be a burdon on the two of you."

"I ain't got any use for being here anymore since the idiot killed the guy I needed alive." July responded to Reaper while pointing at Jonathan. She would let this go eventually. One way or another, she was going to get the information she needed. Finding out who "Dr. Caden" was was only the first part of the information. "I guess we gotta wait a little longer. I ain't got enough ammo to deal with those damn frogs alone." she added.
July walked to the other side of the lobby and over to a shelf on the wall that held brochures and month-old magazines. Most of the magazines she didn't understand, but one did. It was titled something like "Cosmo" or "Compu" which Jana and Cherice read when they took it from one of the magazine stands back in Collins. A few times one of them read an article they thought would mean something to her, but in actuality she thought it was useless to her. When the hell would she ever have the time to care what she looked like or what she should be doing to make herself like other females. The other magazines at the hospital didn't spark her interest. The covers had too many words she didn't understand.
She turned towards the brochures and started looking at some of the pictures in there. She didn't fully understand some of them, but she enjoyed looking at the insides of a pregnant woman, the eye, and the skeleton. She was also interested on pictures of how to cover a wound take care of a broken bone, but it was weird how the brochure did the tasks differently than her family did. It could probably be of some good use for later on.
July's stomach then began to rumble and her throat felt parched. It just dawned on her: she hadn't eaten anything in a few hours and a candy bar can only last a person so long. Thankfully, there were two vending machines against an opposite wall: one with drinks and the other with food. Normally, when she went to the machines, she would normally break the machines to get what she wanted without paying anything. Unfortunately, this caused a lot of noise and would not do any good in a situation where zombies and monsters could pop up at any moment. However, she had another idea that would work. She walked up to the machines, dug into her packs, and pulled out her lock pick. Her first target was the food vending machine. It took nearly five minutes of fiddling around with the picks before she unlocked the doors and opened up the machine. She then turned to the drink vending machine and did the same thing.
July reached into the food vending machine and pulled out a granola bar. She wasn't too sure what was inside of it, but she felt like chocolate was probably not a good idea to eat when on the run even though she could use some more fat on her body. She grabbed a blue can labeled "Pepsi" out of the drink machine and opened it. Before drinking, she turned to Jonathan and Nova and asked, "You want a drink before we head out? I don't cost nothing."
