"Alright. So we can wait. And hey, if we get the chance, I'm gonna make a grab for that rifle. If I can get t back for you I will. You seemed pretty upset when you heard the radio. Either that or you were really attached to those boots."
Cindy watched as a few of the undead tried to make it through the barricade, but were unable to break through. They were too few, and restrained enough to be containable. She hoped when the shooting started there wouldn't be too many deaths. She wanted a distraction not a massacre.

Sarah shook her head. "Sorry Cindy, but it isn't worth it. I appreciate that you want to get my gun back, but for every second we delay, we wind up being caught. As the shots are being fired, we need to be sneaking out the back of the hotel. And that reminds me, we need to get upstairs to tie off the sheets together. Also, if anyone sees us, then they have to die. We can't let those guys know that we are still alive. Let's go."
Sarah motioned for the stairs that led back up to their collection of stuff and the sheets. With no cameras working in the area, Sarah didn't even pretend to be a zombie. She quickly bound up the stairs and made for their room. Once there, she packed up her backpack and put the two radios on the bed. Then she began to knot and double knot the sheets and bed spreads together. They had to test them and then measure them as well.
All of that took about an hour to get done. After that, Sarah used the bathroom, topped off their water bottles and canteens and was set to go with the radios. Sarah looked at her watch. Only 30 minutes left.
"Okay, in 30 minutes, I'm going to put radios end to end and turn up the volume. It should produce and ear splitting scream of feedback. It will attract the undead to the open door and cause all the people listening to the radio to grab their heads and cover their ears. Hopefully with all of that, we should be able to get to the truck and get it started in the gunfight and get out of town."

"That is going to make a whole of noise. That'll draw just about everyone around the hotel to the front door. That could get messy really fast."
Cindy pulled on the makeshift rope, checking their knotwork and ensuring they weren't going to take a very short, but very painful fall when they made their escape. It seemed like it would hold, and if her math was right, neither of them weighed enough to worry about the material tearing.
"Okay, tie the other end to the bed. It's bolted into the floor so it isn't going anywhere. Probably the most stabled piece of furniture in here."

Sarah did as she was told, taking the end of the sheet and tying it to the lower bed frame of the bed. She knotted it a few times and pulled on it with all her might. The bed didn't budge and the knots held. With a bit if luck, they shouldn't fall to their demise on a dumpster.
"I know how you feel, but this is something that they created, not us. If they hadn't of had this crazy dream of sending people through a maze of undead and wanted every girl to service the town, then it would have never come to this."
With their escape plan in place, Sarah began to gear up. They had just a few minutes before that door was opened. Sarah wished that she had more time to look around, but there just wasn't any time. Instead she turned on the radio to listen.
G1: Okay, where is the Chief?
G2: He'll be here. But there really is no point, right? I mean, what are the chances that the Asian chick is still alive?
G1: Let it go man, I know she was supposed to be yours, but we saw her get a chunk tore out of her neck.
G2: I know man, I was looking forward to breaking her in. We need more women... these others are starting to get a little trashed up, if you know what I mean.
G1: When we only have 5 women servicing 20 guys, they're going to wear out.
G2: Well, it looks like it is time. Let's go ahead and open the door.
G1: We still got about 5 minutes. You want to do this without the Chief?
G2: Nothing is there anyway. We might as well save him the time.
There was the sound of a creak and a rattle as the chain was removed from the door and it was opened. There was a startled gasp.
G1: What the f...
Sarah put both radios end to end with the volume as loud as she could get it and the pressed the send button on one of them.
The feedback loop grew louder and louder exponentially through all the radios until the only sound that could be heard was the ear splitting, sound deafening mechanical shriek.
The undead, being right by the door was drawn to the sound and the men and they quickly overpowered the two men and started to feast.
"That is our cue", said Sarah, popping the wooden board off the window. She flung their makeshift rope out the window and saw it fall to the ground.
"I'll go first, to test it, but we need to hurry."
As if to punctuate the point, screams, yells and shot could be heard around at the front of the building as 30 zombie spread out in search of food.

"And...now it's time to go!"
Cindy bundled up their makeshift bedsheet rope, and let Sarah remove the boards from the window. She stuck her head out, didn't see anything, and then tossed the bedsheets out, seeing them end right before the trash bin. Good, she had calculated it correctly. Stepping back, she motioned for Sarah to go first as planned.
"After you!"

Sarah grabbed the sheets and began to lower herself down. At the point that she put her full weight on their rope, it stretched a bit as the knots were drawn tighter together. Sarah's eyes went wide for a moment, but when she didn't fall, she gathered herself and wrapped her foot around the sheet and began to lower herself down.
The descent wasn't all smooth as there was nothing to hold the end at the bottom and several times Sarah banged up against the wall of the hotel. But little by little, she was able to inch her way down. She was so focused on not dying that she really didn't hear what was going on with around the front.
== Around the Front ==
G3: Contacts, we've got contacts. Looks like 30 of them man. Stupid ass Carl and Jimmy. Looks like they opened the door early. Need immediate back up at the front of the hotel.
CHIEF: Copy that. All men rendezvous at the entrance. We have hostiles and possibly two men down. Shoot to kill the undead.
The Chief shook his head. Five minutes later and the team would have been there and this wouldn't have happened. No doubt Carl and Jimmy were wanting to see if the women were dead. Now they had two more zombies for the undead... if they didn't have to shoot them first.
From all over the small town, men drove or ran to the hotel, guns in hand. They were so concerned about the undead at the front, that they didn't even see a small pastel sheet hanging out the window.

Cindy began climbing down. The activity at the front was a great distraction. She touched the garbage bin and rolled off, coming down in her feet in a graceful roll she never knew she could do.
"Come on, let's go."
She began moving to the truck, her senses on high alert as she kept an eye out for anyone moving their way. It looked like all the action was at the front.
As they neared the truck, a stumbling figure came around the corner. One of the guards had been badly mauled, and was bitten and scratched all over. He reached out to them, a look of panic and pleading on his face before he fell. She was going to simply leaved him until she noticed what was on his back.
"I've got it!"
She ran to the fallen man, his arms trying to grasp into her as she pulled the rifle strap from around his shoulder. She held it above her head in a silent sign of victory and ran back to the truck as Sarah was starting it up.

"What are you...?", started Sarah, as she saw Cindy turn and run to the dying man. She couldn't see what was going on, but she saw Cindy take something off the man and hold it up. It was a rifle that Sarah would have recognized anywhere... her grandfathers.
"I could just kiss you", she said, as Cindy got into the truck. She fired up the truck and put it in gear. Instead of screeching out of the parking lot and drawing attention to themselves, she slowly and quietly exited the parking lot, heading South, away from the town and the Le Sade Plantation.
Sarah looked down at the gas tank and frowned. "We only have half a tank. We will need to stop before we leave town. Let's find one of the gas stations on the outskirts. With luck, maybe it will be abandoned as people rushed to the hotel."
Sarah knew it was a longshot, but without gas, this truck would only get them to the wilderness.

"We can only hope right?"
Cindy buckled up, and tucked the rifle behind her in the cab of the truck. She wanted to sink down in her seat, but felt that would be silly. If they were spotted, they were spotted. It wouldn't make any difference if she was crouched low or not.
As they drove by, some of the zombies were making their way out of the building and into the center of town. She felt bad about the people that would more than likely die, but she had to remind herself of the fate she would have been subjected to at their hands. That made her eyes glisten, but no tears came down her face. Not for these people.
