-Antarctic Biological Research and Development-
The ABRAM labs are located just 150 miles from the South Pole. Its purpose is to retrace the origins of the T-Virus and pick up its original purpose as a positive medical breakthrough. The facility is mostly beneath the surface except for a few bio-domes that poke through the snow. Beneath the surface the facility is a maze of activity. Dozens of labs and medical facilities are developing and testing new treatments for various diseases and conditions.

(TEAM ENTERS ABRAM LAB AIRSPACE)
The sky was completely white as the cabin continued to buck and shake. It had been a long flight and the temperature had dropped well below zero. They each were now well covered in winter gear as the chopper landed on the helipad. Slowly the hatch opened and they all stepped out. The only thing they could see was the flashing becon at the communication tower.
"Let's head ou...' Suddenly there was a gun shot and Alex hit the ground. Taking out his rifle he looked through the scope and spotted the source. Out of the blinding snow came a security guard in a t-shirt no less and covered in leeches firing off a pistol. Soon more followed, some with guns others with various melee weapons in hand. Some walking, others trying to dash at them, all covered with the slithering creatures. He then could sense the fear of his sister nearby. "Be sure not to shoot at the com-station." He yelled out.

Mia was sleeping soundly in the corner of the communication room. It had been a while since the power had gone out, and the temprature in the place had quickly dropped after that. She had spent the past couple of hours helping a few of the others try to find clothing so they could stay warm. Ever since the power had gone out she had prayed that the other survivors were doing okay. She stirred at the sound of gunfire. Sitting up she looked around the room expecting them to have broken in, but it wasn't them. They were safe for now, but she didn't know for how long.
Shivering slightly she rubbed her shoulders as she stood up. The windows were whited out from the wind blowing the snow around. She knew that it would only get worse, because the last she checked the weather was going to get much worse. She plastered her face to the window, but still couldn't see anything. She groaned a bit followed by an awful cough. She looked around to see if she had woken anyone yet, and smiled when they were still asleep. Only four in the room including her, but she knew there were more around the facility.
She glanced back out the window and smiled lightly. "Alex," she whispered slightly as she pulled her knees to her chest. She rested her head on her knees and closed her eyes. Please hurry she told herself.

Upon the gunshots being fired, Jim immediately hunkered, down, his instincts taking over as they had countless times before in this situation. He quickly assessed the situation given the layout, of the area, as well as the extreme remoteness of the location and knew what to do he called out in a very calm and confident voice that cut through the din of the weather.
"Wayneright, Inman check your targets and engage those hostiles. Remember we're on a rescue mission, non lethal force first. See what slows em down. You," he said gruffly pointing towards Trenton, "Give me some smoke to cover the chopper and our asses out here. Then cover the rear side of the landing port. We have almost zero visibility gentlemen and I don't like uninvited dinner guests."
He then reached over to his comm device attached to his left shoulder speaking quickly into it while banging on the side of the chopper. Then with his right hand he brought his M4 around to a ready position while crouching down and surveying the area for any means of cover.
"Kill the lights and get this goddamn bird back in the air until we secure the perimeter. I don't want to have to walk all the way back to Florida!"
That said, he pulled out a small pair of binoculars, attempting to get a better look at the leech infested workers, They showed relative intelligence being able to use firearms, but obviously lacked any higher reasoning ability coming out into the cold with no protection against the environment. He did a quick sweep of the area counting how many were obviously infected and deducting it from the total number of known potential victims. He reminded himself they were still on a rescue mission and until they had more information, anyone they killed could turn out to be someone they could have saved.

After a few shots of his own he talked into his mic. "Little problem with that non-lethal order." He mentioned. Through the scope he spotted a woman in a hospital gown swinging an IV stand who now had no-head thanks to him and was still approaching. "Zed rules seem to be out the window." He said taking out Another lady and a kid who seemed unconcerned that they had been decapitated. "Headshots arn't working." With that in mind he started taking out legs dropping a number to there knees. Whether it worked or not had yet to be seen. "Permission to engage lethally towards this first wave and experiment on a surviving infected to see if they can be saved. If we die the living victems have no chance what-so ever,"

Trenton dropped down beside the colonel, opened his bag and pulled out his rifle. "Small arms isn't gonna hurt that bird, doesn't look like these things are really aiming either, I'm sorry sir but I can't waste the smoke." Trenton said as he fired a shot once every second. He wasn't sure where to aim at first as his first target was ruled out but a shot in each kneecap and one in the assumed dominant shoulder seemed to remove most of the infected combat ability.
Trenton glanced at the light and back to his target, an inefected in full winter clothing. He wouldn't have even known the man was infected if it wasn't for him running with what looked like an ice pick. "s***, does anyone have thermal? These things have got to have a weakness somewhere!" Trenton shouted before firing three shots in rapid succesion, one in the shoulder and the other two in the opposite leg.

"Roger." Hitting a button on his helmet brought up a number of signals hat stood out like christmass. "I'm counting 17 incoming." He then zoomed in on one of the infected. What he saw he didn't understand. There were a number of large lumps on many areas on their skin. From each bump there was a long stalk and veigns working into the body. Spotting a part in the gut where the stalks combined he aimed and fired. Like that the infected went down.
"If you have thermal those leeches have stalks crawling through their bodies. Shoot where the stalks meet. Must be some kinda...I don't know." He then opened fire again letting the snow fly up from the gun then fall down to cover him. "However, I wasn't detecting any heartbeat." He then looked at the beacon trying to keep himself from running towards the cabin. "If you don't have thermal aim for the center of the ribcage or in the gut. They mostly seem to meet up there." With the new information at hand it was hard to take aim as some were dashing at them. Normal zeds walked. "If you can't do that get the limbs, Just shred them up best you can."

The blast of a shotgun rings over Trenton's own gunshots, agent Inman dispatching those that manged to get close enough to him to use the shotgun. At first the ACU clad agent was aiming for non lethal shots, but having seen the toughness, and heard Waynright's observation, of these new BOWs he quickly figured that they might be beyond saving, however he still attempted to only kill those that were a direct danger, seeing as it was a standing order from the colonel. As he ejects his last shell another one armed with a butcher knife charges at him, the agent quickly knocks the man back with a buttstroke and plants his boot against his chest, shoving him away.
"Now theres a reason why I use a shotgun, cause you never know what your gonna find, so instead of worrying about where to hit em, you just end up hitting em every d*mn where" he says as he finishes loading the last shell into the tubular magazine.

Trenton's first clip runs dry. As he reaches for the second clip he is blindsided by a T infected. "Alex!" he shouts as he draws his USP compact and fires four shots into the stomach of the former doctor. "I think they're surrounding us!" Trenton slaps the second clip into the H&K91 and makes a mental note to reload his sidearm as soon as he has a chance. Trenton presses forward to Alex's side and taps his shoulder. "I'm on your back." Trenton says facing the opposite direction as Alex, making sure his duffle bag didn't hit Alex or hinder his movement. Trenton continues to fire for shins and shoulders, thinking that disabling them enough for their team to pull through would be enough.

Alex ran out and tossed aside the empty clip and took aim again. "This is taking to long. We can't keep going like this." Looking around he saw snow and nothing much else. "No cover." He had given up on killing them now and stuck to taking out the legs to slow them down. Suddenly his weapon jammed and he started working on it. As he did he noticed the mountain to the west. They were pretty close to. "I have an idea...but your not going to like it." He then began opening fire. "We could retreat to the mountain. If we can cause an avalanche we can bury them in snow." Taking down two security guards he looked over at Jim. "What do you think our chances are?"

Jim, looked back to the mountainside, and then towards the layout of the are. The options began to be very limited as this was quickly turning from a rescue mission into a sweep and clear one. The infected continued to lumber forward at a relentless pace.
"We need to be able to secure that Comm tower to establish an up link to HQ. An avalanche could prevent that, and these hostiles are not slowed down in the least by the cold. Aim for the kneecaps and make your way towards the facility, an avalanche is an uncontrolled factor and the cold doesn't seem to bother them one bit."
Taking careful and steady aim, Jim began firing of single shots at a time, the 5.56 rounds impacting the infected in the kneecap area and then exiting in various random parts of their bodies due to it's tumbling effect. The strategy seemed to be the best they had without more intel as those infected that were disabled in this manner had a difficult time crawling throw the deep, drifting snow.
"Make for the facility, Wayneright on point. They're everywhere boys we need to move."
He popped off a few more well placed rounds, causing two more to stumble and fall. before he began backpedaling towards the others. He spoke back towards the men as he linked up with Alex and Trenton, taking up a position facing one of the open flanks as Trenton had the rear and Alex had point.
"Tight formation men one weapon at each direction off of point move as one. Short controlled fire, conserve ammunition." He then quickly relayed a radio command to the chopper pilot who lifted off with two infected who were wounded and had crawled to it and were clinging to the landing rails, "Big Bird remain in radio contact, will advise when perimeter is secured, over."
He then placed a quick hand on Trenton's shoulder pointing towards the two infected latched onto the chopper.
"Take them out!"
He then wheeled back to the left just in time to see what once was a young woman in a lab coat bearing down on him with outstretched hands grasping at anything they could seize and tear apart. Jim ducked back and lowered his shoulder as her hand barely missed catching hold of his outfit. He stood back up abruptly and launched a vicious front kick into her mid section that sent her sprawling backward into the cold snow. He then let of a single quick shot which all but obliterated her left ankle, hampering her efforts to get back up as the group began to move by.

Inman takes his position in between the colonel and Trenton, his shotgun raises and shouldered, taking shots at those coming to close. He sends two more infected people into the snow with his shotgun blasts, now having forgone non lethal, it was easier to go for center mass with his shotgun.
"Come on lets outa this sh*t!" he shouts out as a bullet flies past his head, the group getting closer to the Comm tower.

Taking shots trying to conserve ammo he was the only one to have the ability to hit the weak points. "These bullets arn't going to cut it." He then hit the mic and patched into the chopper. "David. We need an ammo drop of box K7. It contains specialized rounds. Try to drop them near the com station if you can." Incoming he got confirmation as he reached the com staion. "Jim, Trenton, get into the building. Inman, join me on the rooftop to keep these creatures at bay until we get the drop. It has hollow-point and incidiary ammo and we're going to need it." Finding a ladder he climbed it to the top of the building. Once there he provided covering fire while the others took the tactical retreat. "Bollo, access grid." He spoke into the mic. Soon a transparent map of the outer complex popped infront of him. "Team, a maintanance tunnle runs from the com station into the facility. That's our ticket."

(OOC: Hope this is ok. Jazz said I could enter. This is my first time RPing so if I did anything wrong just tell me and I'll fix it.)
"God Damn It" Bruce shouted as he opened the door to his office which was situated in a room in the communication tower. He had barely managed to get away from those things. Initially security had been successful in getting the survivors to the safe rooms, but the leeches just constantly seemed to multiply. Someone must have infiltrated the facility messed with one of the experiments. There was no way this could have been an accident.
Everyone had panicked including his own men regretfully. The majority of those outside of the safe rooms had been infected or separated. He had managed to to get about a third of the scientists and patients into the safe rooms scattered around the facility. The rest were either hiding or being controlled by leeches. Security had been taken down to only a handful of men scattered around (including himself) just trying to survive. They had tried to radio for help from headquarters, but they were cut off half way through so there was no way of knowing when they'd come.
Bruce went to the security monitors sitting on the desk in his office. However, since they weren't working they were useless. "Well what now?" he said. Well he might as well check on the other survivors.
*Bruce is in ABRAM Labs in his office he is about to leave to check on Mia in next room*

Trenton nodded and opened the door to the comm station. "We'll open the roof hatch when we're up there." Trenton said over comm as he motioned for the colonel to get inside. Trenton runs up the stairs and kicks the door to the main comm room open. "No hostiles. At least none in the open. Colonel, can you close the door on your way in, I'm gonna start working on the comm box here. Sooner we can talk to people in the main facility the better." Trenton reports over comm before setting his rifle down and reloading his sidearm. Once his pistol is loaded Trenton gives the room another once over and gets to work stripping the cover off the computer connected to the Communications Antenna on the roof.
