Preston glanced back to see that more zombies had arrived. The odds weren't that good, the corridor behind them was overflowing with zombies. That was the way back to his car. Preston had never been in the school before so he had no clue where to go or how to get to the Impala. "Well, my Impala is parked outside but we'd have to back track and as you can see that's not gunna happen." Preston shouted as he picked up his speed.

"Outside!?" Libbys voice was rushed, and her cheeks were flushed with a rosey red colour. She didn't know the structure of this High School, but she figured it had windows.. And she was flexible. The thoughts ran through her head, and they sounded stupid but she decided it was the only way she and Preston wouldn't end up as zombie food.
Grabbing his wrist, Libby fired a few shots and pulled Preston into a small classroom on their left. Picking up a stool, Libby hit hard at the window, the glass shattering and littering the floor in tiny little shards. "We gotta jump." She said, her eyes full of emotion. "Sorry." Libby knew she could make the jump, it wasn't a long way down, luckily, and it would require some running while they were out. Bending her legs, Libby jumped into the air and fell gracefully onto the ground below, she heard the moans get louder and looked anxiously at Preston, hoping he was about to jump.
Libby looked to her right and a couple of zombies were slowly hobbling towards her. "NOW!" She yelled up to Preston, her gun ready and waiting for the worst.

Preston watched as Libby jumped out the window, he took a deep breath and ran toward it. He dived out the window and landed with a roll. Preston got to his feet and motioned for her to follow. He fired his pistol once more trying to clear a path. "That's my car right there!" Preston shouted as he fire another shot. He opened the driver side door and unlocked the Passenger side. Preston stuck the key into the ignition and turned it. The Impala roared to life once more.

Libby dived into the passengers side and slammed the door shut as the car roared to life. Pushing herself up from a laying position, Libby examined the car she was sitting in. It was gorgeous, she absolutely adored muscle cars.
Trailing a finger across the dashboard, she let out a little smile, before turning to see the zombies were now getting further away. "Thank you." She said, simply, turning to face her new friend. "I never thought I'd get out there, I'd done well to have hidden so long.." Her thoughts trailed off as she looked into the distance.

Preston leaned back and put his car in gear. The Impala purred as it ran over the zombies in front of it. You could hear the bones crunch as the back tire pulled away. It was good to be out of the reach of the zombies and the horrors of the outside. Preston glanced over to Libby as she began to talk. After she finished he finally spoke. "What were you doing there by yourself? Well anyways, your in safe hands now" Preston said smiling.

Libby balled both of her fists into balls and slid them between her thighs to keep warm. "Keeping alive, I guess." Libbys voice was timid, and she almost sounded shy. She'd appreciated the help but now she wasn't sure what to do. She had never really spent any time with men, it was as much a new experience to her as being in a zombie apocolypse was.
"Where are we headed?" Libby tilted her head to look at Preston, before pulling her knees up, and hugging them into her chest.

"I'm heading to my parent's house. I need to find them. If you want to go somewhere, I would be glad to take you where you need to go." Preston said as he looked back to the road. He gave Libby enough time to answer before he shifted gears. He glanced down to the fuel gauge and frowned. The Impala was ruining out of gas, another thirty minutes and they would be out of gas.

Libby's face became sad and she hugged her knees harder. "I don't have anywhere to go.." She frowned and looked out the passenger window, trying to hold the tears back that began to swell. She really didn't have anyone else, she had no purpose anymore, she was only really interested in staying alive, to prove to herself that she could.
"So, if you want some company, I guess you got some." Libby continued to look out the passenger window. There wasn't much around here, it was pretty dead and boring.

Preston looked over to Libby, whom looked like she was bout to cry. He felt sympathy for her. Preston placed his hand on her shoulder and smiled. " Hey, don't cry. I like company, if you don't mind I have a question. What did you do before this hell on earth?" Preston asked as he reached into the glove compartment. He found a pack of cigarettes that he hadn't opened. He opened the pack and pulled one out. Preston slid one into his mouth and lit it. After he took a long drag, he rolled down the window. The smoke rolled out of the window. "Sorry, if you don't like smoke."

Libby took a deep breath and composed herself, shifting herself to a more comfortable position. "I was a successful Aerobics Instructor." She said, smiling. "I had my own studio, it was that very studio that kept me alive for so long.." Her voice trailed off and she turned to Preston. "What about you? Any secrets I should know about?" Libby didn't mind the smoke, but didn't smoke herself, she allowed the smoke to escape out the window and watched as it did so.
