The general idea was to go up the stairs from the newly opened door and get the hell out of here. Seemed like a good idea. As they made their way there, they could hear the sounds of the barricade breaking away and someone taking some shots at the things that broke through. Samuel almost went back to help, but he didn't. He wouldn't admit it out loud, but he was scared s***less. He just wanted to get out of here.
They got to the booze storage area, and onto the shelves that lined the walls. With some help from him, being the tallest, everyone was able to make it up to them. When Keira called for help, Samuel moved past her and bent his knees to get a grip on the shutter. He grunted as he pulled up, the shutter's motor whining from the effort before it started to move.
"Go." He said to the others. They were all quite a bit smaller than him, he would move it up a bit further and come in soon.

Criss hung back with Sam, watching the survivors run through the grate. With the sound of the barricade being taken down, she didn't exactly want to lose anyone. She hated to admit it, but she was terrified...she'd seen and done some pretty horrible things but this was a complete nightmare. Those things, those, people...no, those things were relentless and smelled of rot and decay. They were dead but they weren't.
The woman kept her hands on her knife, knowing that if worse came to worse, it wouldn't protect her from anything, much less those...ghouls. She wanted to be the first one out of the bar but seeing Sam look the way he did, like he was trying to be strong but at the same time wanted to p*ss himself, she'd went against better judgement and stood behind him.
Once the other survivors were in, she'd walked through, gesturing at Sam to hurry up. "Alright, that's everyone, did a head count, now let's get the flying f*ck out of here!" she told him, jogging up the steps and running through the door the others had gone through. Here, they found themselves on the rooftops.
The sounds of sirens were still ablaze through the cold, rainy, air. It also seemed like the black birds hanging around the place had taken an eerie interest in the civilians. Criss walked behind the group, staring up at a string of them, that also stared back. Their beady eyes and heads tilted and gleamed at them, as if they were some sort of prey.
"I don't like the looks of those things..." she told Keira, nodding her head up at them.

Keira followed Criss and Sam, as well as the rest of the survivors who made it through, out under the shutters and up to the roof. Rain continued to poor down on the city, and darkness engulfed the streets.
Keira peered over the edge of the roof top-- there were at least a dozen of the creatures roaming around in front of the bar. The streets were filled with more of them than Keira had thought. The situation was unexplainable. Had these people gone crazy? Were they sick? It was almost too much to bear.
Keira hadn't noticed the sudden large number of crows that were surrounding the area, until Criss pointed them out. It seemed odd that they would be just sitting about on a stormy night, in the pouring rain. Something seemed to be wrong with them. Just as Keira had finished this thought, a flash of lightening had illuminated the area briefly, and it became apparent that the crows' eyes were almost blood red. As the lightning flashed, the murder of crows erupted into the sky, and began circling the roof tops; more specifically, the civilians.
"What the hell..." Keira hushed to Criss, looking up to the sky.
Suddenly, someone on the roof had let out a yelp, and was soon set upon by several of the crows. The birds, black as night, began to peck at the flesh of the struggling woman, as other people backed away from her in fear. It didn't take long before the other several dozen crows began to join in. Soon, nearly every person on the roof had been set upon by one or more of the evil birds.
Keira swatted away one as it swooped for her, and immediately began protecting her head with her arms.
"The roof!" Keira yelled out to the crowd, which was now filled with chaos and struggles. "Leap to the roof of the apartment complex!" she attempted to raise her voice.
She proceeded to grab Criss and Sam by the arm, then gestured toward the edge of the roof of the bar, which was close enough to the roof of the apartment complex to allow a person to vault over relatively easily. However, the ledge would likely be slippery in the rain, and they would have to be extremely careful. They no longer had any choice, they had to get away from the crows before they were pecked to death.

Samuel kept his eyes toward the sky as soon as they got to the roof, eyeing the birds as they circled the group. It only took a slight noise, not even anything they had done, to kick the flock of birds into a frenzy. Before any of them could do anything, they were descending upon them.
Samuel knew that if he tried to shoot at any of them, it would just be a waste of rounds. Even if he could manage to make a hit every single shot, there were too many. He would run out of ammo. So he did something that seemed like the next best thing.
Tucking the revolver into his belt, he took off his jacket and held it up in front of him as a sort of shield. When a bird flew down and tried to attack, he snatched it out of the air with the coat and swung, impacting it with the ground. He heard a sickening crunch, and the bunch of cloth stopped moving.
He opened his jacket back up and kept it open to catch another, making his way to the edge.
“Come on, come on!” He yelled to the others, seeing the girl be pecked down to nothing but bones in seconds by the swarm of carnivores.

Criss had her hood up over her head, which saved her the trouble of covering it and allowed her the advantage to swing her arms at them. Keira and Sam had been yelling at the group to hurry up while Criss was lagging behind them shooing away crows. By the time she'd taken to climbing up a giant step to reach the level of the apartments, she had been running forward to the edge, ready to vault over the small gap between both buildings.
Her foot, however, slipped up and sent her scrambling forward, barely catching the ledge of the apartment building, the rest of her body slamming painfully into it's side. She'd immediately stuck the tips of her toes up against the wall in an attempt to pull herself up, but her fingers felt like they were slipping.
"Christ! Urgh, someone pull me up! Please!" she cried out, struggling to hold on.
