"Clearly your training with the sling was more than enough..." Rey trailed off, stepped toward the infected corpse that was now in two pieces. She looked down at it, and had a flash of memory from years bac, though not able to pinpoint the time. Then she removed her knife, she drove it into the lone head, ending the vocal sounds completely, and movement. "...Ive seen people carry them around. The heads. Not just as trophies, but they scared away people, and masked the smell from the dead."
Rey could admit that Natalie didnt need any training, she could use it fine if she had to. The biggest difference would have been hitting a living target, but there was no way should teach her those techniques in one sitting, and definitely didnt have the time to do it, so Rey made a decision. "Keep the bow, I can make another one when I have to. I dont plan on needing it, I do well enough with my knives." She finished, hiding the fact that she was too impatient to train, or rather had her mind focused on their meeting coming up. At the same time, Rey had seen the people here had been crafting weapons, and knew that if she was persuasive enough, she could get her hands on something shed been wanting for a long time coming.
"We should probably get to the bridge, see what this guy wants exactly. Maybe he will show up early and we can get this out of the way even quicker." Rey knew Natalie would be on board with getting the ball rolling. With that, she left the bow, quiver, and the various different arrows that Natalie would no doubt ask about another time if she didnt figure them out for herself. Some we obvious, other not so much, but each had a purpose.

"Alright, but when we get the chance, I want you to show me everything you know. I'm sure you know some tricks that will help me be a better shot, and hunter."
Natalie followed Rey back to the bridge, keeping an eye out for any more infected. For the immediate moment they were safe, although that meant little when the living were more dangerous than the dead. She wasn't sure what the town leader wanted them to do, but their bodies were definitely off of the menu. While she was sure that the man had figured it out, she was still going to stay on guard in case the man tried anything he would soon regret.
"There he is. Just play nice, okay? Please, we don't want an angry town coming after us. And we might need to come through this area again. Never know, right?"

Shaking her head, Rey didn't agree to not burn any bridges. If anybody was going to make any stupid decisions, it was going to be this man and his community. So long as he did, she wouldn't have a reason to end whatever they have going here. "Ladies, how nice of you to join me. Its a clear night, too. Did you ever just look at the stars? They ca-" Stone was about to finish, but couldn't. Rey had her hand around his throat, and was ready to rip it out. She looked around while he gagged, not seeing anyone come to his aid. They were all alone. She could trust him now.
But before she let go, she spoke. "Just tell us what you need. Agreed?" His body slumped back to his feet, and Stone gagged for a moment before smiling. It was creepy, but given the amount of muscle on the man, and the obviously past, he was used to pain. "Those people that got taken from us by one of your kind. We want to know how...." He caughed up one more time, spitting onto the ground at Reys feet. "Few of em still show up from time to time. We have to put them down. We tried converting them back, but talking to them didn't do anything. Its like there's a different person inside. They were loyal men, loyal to me. I wanna know how they could turn like they did, and be brainwashed."
It was a little suspicious now that Stone was talking about brainwashing, when Rey was subject to it. It made sense, given Rey might have looked like the sort of people that were taken from the community. Her skin was rough and black in some areas. Clearly she wasn't human, so it wasn't too hard to think maybe she had the answers. Or knew how to find them. They interesting part was that she did. "Give Natalie whatever she wants, and we have a deal." Stone listened to the inhuman, then turned his attention to the other one, waiting to hear what she was going to ask for.

"We need supplies. Food, water tablets, blankets, spare clothes, some new boots, and materials for arrows. We also want a detailed map of the area. I want to know what is out there and what we can expect to run into."
Natalie knew Rey would have little in the way of what she would need. She wasn't as lucky though, and knew that other than time to polish rocks for her sling she was going to need a few items for their trip. She didn't like the idea of people being abducted and brainwashed. This was something that affected any community in the area, and had to be stopped.
"Oh, one more thing. There's a community to the northwest. I want a message delivered there. I'll write it down, and you have some take it that way. Now let's go inside and talk some more about these people that were taken. We'll do what we can to help."

Just as predicted, Natalie was on point, not leaving out a single thing on her mental list. While all of these thing would be great survival hear, they were things that Rey didn't think of anymore. Hearing the list made her feel like no matter how strong she got with her mutations, part of her got weak, the natural survival instinct. It all came back to her though, and Rey nodded, not needing to add anything else. Arrows would be good, especially ones that weren't just built out in the open.
"Your asking for a lot, girl. Especially as pay for a job that isn't even done yet." Stone brought up the fact he was doing all of this out of trust, and he meant what he said, but for the time, it would just be his bartering ways trying to haggle her down without saying no. "This isn't a request, this is a demand. Either you give us what we need, or we move on. But when we do that, and soon as shes not around," Rey gestured toward Natalie. "Ill come back here myself, and rip this place apart with my bare hands."
Stone backed away, looking between the two women, and finally walked away toward the storage area. "My men and I will get it together now. We'll have a truck ready for you." He spoke with an assuring tone of voice. Rey knew he was intimidated, but they needed to make sure they get what Natalie was asking for. Normally, Rey would have taken it all and wouldn't worry about their petty problems, but this was different. She was interested. Natalie was sticking with her for the long run, and Rey wanted to figure out what attacked the place. "Thats a lot of stuff. You seem to know what you're getting yourself into."

"Hey, just being practical. We could be gone for a bit, and I don't want to be talking about how nice it would be if we had the items we needed instead of just having them. Besides, if we don't use it we can always give it back. They look like they're stocked enough to spare this."
Natalie was getting to be better at this whole hero thing. Well, that is what she thought she was at this point. She didn't know what they were going to find when they got to where these people had been taken to, but if there was anyone they could save she was going to make sure they did everything they could for them.
"Gonna help me polish rocks once we get everything? We have some time to kill before we head out."

"Polish rocks? Oh thats right, your sling." Rey notice what Natalie was referring to. She her wasnt a fan of it, but since Natalie could kill with it effectively, it made it a worthy tool. Rey had been using primitive tools for awhile, and knew how to make a lot of them. The ones that would be made given the location they were in, and what wasnt always easily and readily available. While a bow was obviously superior, the sling had its advantages that werent lost to either of them. The ammunition was a lot easier to produce. Rey wouldnt ever possibly be able to argue against it, no matter how much she thought about it. So without saying anything else, she grabbed one from Natalie, and began checking for anything that would put impede the level of friction needed to use the stones more effectively.
The pair of them had did this within sight of the truck Stone was preparing for them. Every now and then, Rey seen people coming and going, and with all of the supplies Natalie asked for, included a pair of boots. It wasnt what she personally needed, but Rey would take them, mostly just because they did provide a firmer foot placement on uneven ground. But still, she polished the rocks, getting a good handful of them ready and in the satchel that Natalie carried with her. Before long, Stone came back, seemingly with everything packed up. "Thats everything, and a little more, for good measure. When should we expect to hear from you again?"
Rey looked at him, then the truck, and finally to Natalie. "Dont answer him, just check and make sure we have what we need, and get in the drivers seat." She ordered, in a stern voice. Stone took note of this, and turned to walk away, but Rey turned him around with one hand. "We'll be back when were back, and you can be sure we will. You should be hoping its with good news, because if it turns out a waste of our time, youll be hoping we died."

Natalie looked over her shoulder as she made her way to the truck, obeying the other woman's command without question. She wondered if it was the virus' influence, or if she was just getting used to the other woman being in charge. Maybe it was a combination of both.
She looked in the back of the truck, seeing that everything they had requested was there. It didn't look like anyone was trying anything funny, not to her eyes anyways. She got in the driver's seat, resting her hands on the wheel as she waited to see what was going to happen net. Hopefully nothing more than Rey coming and getting into the vehicle as well. She didn't want anymore violence, she simply wanted to help this settlement get their people back. Maybe she could keep Rey from hurting anyone they didn't need to along the way.

Stone didnt say anything else. He knew that Rey was bad news, but the fact she was willing to help them out like this made her not so scary. She couldnt have been doing this for the supplies, because no doubt she couldve just taken what she wanted. It just made sense to have a super out looking for traces of BOW, something about it made sense.
When the truck pulled onto the highway once again, Rey leaned back in the seat, watching Natalie. She could drive well. Little to her knowledge however, Rey didnt know how to drive. After years of not being behind the wheel, it just didnt come back to her. Cars were always noisy, and she preferred to be on foot. Or in an aircraft, if she needed to make a lot of distance in a shot amount of time. "If this is what I think it is, shouldnt be too far away. They dont get very far..." her sentence trailed. Natalie would probably ask what they were actually looking for, and how Rey knew, or at least suspected, but they had more than enough time on their hands to deal with it properly.

"So, what are we looking for? You seem to have some idea of what could be causing this, and what we should be expecting."
Natalie drove around some road obstacles, and bumped a lone zombie off to the side, its head bouncing off of the fender before it went down. She didn't look to see if it got back up, for the immediate moment her attention was on the road and whatever the BOW could tell her. She didn't want to go into the situation blindly, and anything the woman could tell her would be both helpful and welcome.

"Not sure, exactly," she started to reply, looking at the roadside for anything that resembled blood. "but im sure its whats been taking over the people at the complex. Same thing that I use to control people, sort of. Im not the only one. Im looking for any signs they were on this road. I can usually tell from the blood, so just keep driving, and ill let you know when I see something." Rey finished, eyes darting back to the opposite side of the highway. Not far ahead of them had been a turnoff leading to another town, but most of it was overgrown, so it was hard to see the edge of the road. Rey could sense a vibration coming close, but she wasnt able to tell how close until it was too late. Another truck came barreling out from around the bend, crashing into them. Natalie was instantly flung away, bouncing a few times before landing in the ditch, while Rey had been pinned between the wheel and imploded car door, steel nearly crush her ribcage. If Rey knew they were this close, she would have been more careful, even let Natalie know what was really happening. They could sense her too, an unfortunate side effect. She knew what was coming. Rey seen Natalie try and get back up to her feet, but before it was clear whether or not she was able to, a bust of gunfire erupted. Her world went black as two of the bullets hit her head, enevitably piercing her brain. Two men grabbed the motionless body, and pulled her from the wreckage, into the woods. The third, whom had a disfigured arm and neck almost completely snapped sideways walked over to Natalie, pointing a gun at her. "Dont be afraid. She cant hurt you anymore."[To be continued...]
