Polly had the same deer in the headlight look that she had when they had first broached the subject of sex. She wasn't used to anyone being as forward about it in the community, and she was still trying to get used to the woman doing so. She had to close her eyes and stop the butterflies in her stomach before she responded, not able to look the woman in the eye as she spoke.
"I didn't, I mean...not with anyone else. Ever, I swear!"

Katya chuckled, "oh don't worry, I believe you. I actually broke your hymen that night. you probably don't remember, you were screaming in ecstasy at the time." Katya ground her cupping hand against polly's clothed sex, and she moaned, involuntarily leaning into her hand as a result. then, katya brought her other hand up and grabbed a fistful of polly's hair at the base of her skull and manoeuvred her to look her in the eye, gaining a slight yelp of pain, followed by another moan.
"What I'm asking is if you ever pleasured yourself."

Polly was about to respond, when she heard something moving through the trees. Whatever it was really wasn't making an attempt to be stealthy, and it seemed to be heading their way. It may have been attracted by her yelp of pain, or just the sounds of other people in general. She wasn't sure if it was one of the infected, or something else that called the woods home.
"Something's there. Off to the left."
She tried to keep her voice low, but the fear in it came through, and she looked slightly panicked while still being held in such an erotic fashion by the other woman.

Katya scowled. she didn't like the interruption. she too had heard and seen the movement. "you're still going to tell me Polly." she told her, letting her go and bringing out her pistol.
she tracked the motion with her periphery vision, and brought her pistol up.
then a blood-curdling roar sounded as what looked to be a virus mutated bear charged out of the undergrowth straight at them. Katya pushed polly away as she moved, aiming and firing her sig sauer .45 at the bears eyes and mouth. it was difficult seeing as the bear was moving fast up and down. thankfully though it headed towards her instead of at polly, just as she had hoped. reaching a pickup, she hopped into the trailer bed and switched to her 12 gauge shotgun, which she had loaded previously with 2 flat-nose slugs and the rest in 00 buckshot. aiming, she shot the bear twice in the head with the slug rounds before the bear slammed into the pickup. thankfully the slugs had penetrated the brain cavity, otherwise Katya might have been bear food.
she breathed hard from the adrenaline. she saw polly by the pickup and grinned. "glad I loaded the slug rounds."

Polly was out of breath, and glad that she had used the bathroom earlier. She was certain if she hadn't then she would have wet herself in terror. She has rarely seen mutated animals, and while Katya was reloading and congratulating herself on the kill, she poked at the now very dead animal at their feet. She got close to it, holding her nose at the smell, and found herself oddly entranced by the way its huge form was still intact even after the infection had killed and reanimated it.
"We need to go. Everything must have heard those shots. Didn't you say this place was dangerous?"

"this world is dangerous. overly worrying about it will kill you quicker than you think. the constant worry will burn you out."
after unloading the buckshot and loading more slug rounds she got out of the truck and started walking along the road. "so...back to my question."

Polly sighed as they walked, her nervousness both at answering the question and of the increasingly hostile world around her making her look at her feet, hopping from one to the other like a child as she tried to decide how to answer. The woman clearly wasn't going to let the matter drop, and if it was helping her open up to her, then she decided it wasn't as embarrassing a question as she initially thought it was. She could be an adult and answer it, couldn't she?
"I...almost every night, okay? Sometimes more than once."

"I thought that might be the case. for a virgin you were surprisingly reactive to stimuli, which made it all the more interesting and fun." Katya was horny at the moment, plain and simple. it was a common reaction from the adrenaline during and after combat. right now all she wanted to do was jump polly's bones, but she had more self control than that.
"see, that wasn't so hard now was it. perhaps ill reward you later."

Polly blushed as the woman spoke almost clinically about her reaction to the other woman's actions last night. It made her wonder, and before she could stop herself, she spoke out.
"How many virgins have you had?"
She slapped her good hand over her mouth, her eyes going wide as she tried to figure out a way to backtrack from the conversation she was finding herself in. She'd never asked anything so scandalous before in her life, and now she was speaking to her...lover like this. That was the right word, lover. She could blame the environment, or the circumstances she had found herself and the other woman in but at the end she was the one who had kissed the woman back. She had agreed and enjoyed everything that had transpired that night. She wasn't in denial anymore, the woman was hers, and she was Katya's.

Katya stopped and turned to face polly, one eyebrow raised quizzically. "Are you Jealous?" Polly blushed and sputtered a bit before Katya grinned, went over to her, and claimed her mouth with her tongue. they stayed that way for maybe 10 seconds, before katya broke the kiss off, her hands at polly's lower back and stoking her hair. "If you must know I have 'had' around 5 virgins, more non-virgins." She kissed her again, stroking her hand down polly's back till she was rubbing and squeezing her perfect butt cheeks. she broke the kiss again, grinning at polly's breathlessness. "Do you have any other questions?"

Polly's face burned as she tried to think of anything to say, witty or otherwise. Nothing was processing at the moment, so her brain just shut down and she smiled with her silly half-smile she did when she was content or happy. She knew she was supposed to say something, so she uttered.
"Wow."
That was certainly nothing worthy of trying to make into a song or story, but it was all she could muster at the time. She must have been a sight, grinning like an idiot with a beautiful, dangerous woman holding her. At this rate they were never going to get home, and strangely enough she really didn't care.

Katya held polly close just gazing into her eyes, and grinned when she just said 'wow'.
"your pretty wow yourself." she said before kissing polly again, a short one this time, they had to keep moving. releasing her apparent lover, she held out her hand to hold.
polly took her hand with her uninjured hand and they continued down the road.
"so, whats your home like?"

"My home."
Polly tried to think of how to describe her families' farm. Was there a way to explain how she loved running through the fields just before planting, or lying on the roof and watching the stars at night? Sneaking some of the distilled whiskey from down the road when her parents were away?
"It's all I've ever known really. That and spending a little time in the city, helping scavenge what we could use back home. Nothing too big, just equipment, clothes and any medicine we can find that is still usable."
She realized she didn't answer the question, and ran a hand through her hair as she tried to think of a way to explain her home to someone that was always on the road.
"It's peaceful. People work with each other, help each other survive and grow. We work hard, but what we have, we either trade or give to the people around us. No one is hungry, or has to worry about finding a place to sleep. We're too organized to worry about raiders, and too well-fortified to worry about the dead that fill the countryside. It's...I guess the safest place you could find."

"no place is truly safe polly, and the universe has a nasty habit of proving the point to those who forget that only constant vigilance and preparation is the only way to survive."
Katya wasn't being pessimistic, just realistic. and the point was a good one, the world only respected prepared and vigilant people.
"so, what's there to do there? what do you do to while away the time, have fun, give the finger to this world?"

"I guess it's safer than being out in the open like this. With people around, we can watch each other's backs if nothing else. Safety in numbers."
Polly didn't spend a lot of time outside of the walls. She supposed Katya knew all of the dangers that could be found in the rest of the world that they now found themselves in. She had only run into the occasional dead straggler, ones that still had functioning eyes and ears and could hear the sounds of their small community. She always felt a little sick when she killed one, her nerves giving out.
"Other than firepit meetings, some of the games the children play, and of course old man Wilkerson makes the local whiskey. He gets everything he needs from our farm, so we usually get the first batch. There isn't a lot to do, now that I think about it. Maybe that was why I always volunteered for the runs, or when I wanted to go on the trade route trips. I always wanted to see the rest of the area, meet new people, see new things."
