Yes I do actually. Animation/Concept art is the career I have my arrow pointed at. Animation and Zombies pretty much sums me up to a tee. I've animated a few times, just super simple scribbley expression kinda things though.

Awesome! I aspire to become an animator myself, it's a bS industry though and as rough as guts to hold onto without any support. I mostly dawdle with Flash most of the time, but currently it's becoming ever more evident that I seriously need some training in Photoshop to help me out in my drawings.

Aha! Photoshop is my forte, friend! I'm three years self taught, but I still need training. Flash confuses me, all my animating is done in Photoshop, if at all. Photoshizzle isn't that tough, I could find you some really good drawing/lining/coloring tutorials if you'd like.

Please?
Just to add to the calamity, it's Photoshop Elements 7.0 which I heard is crap, but I got it free with my drawing tablet. I have used the... normal(?) Photoshop though, and I hate the user interface with a god damn passion. It's so not user friendly.
Self taught in Flash too ^.^ Been going at it since I can remember. It's dangerously simple in my opinion, and honestly if you dig animation it wouldn't take a lift of a finger to get things rolling in Flash. It's very much the pinnacle program all developers use, asides from Toon Boom. I actually do most of my drawing and colouring in there, although sketches I do with SketchBookExpress; saves paper and has the ctrl+z ability.

I would be dead without ctrl+z. The greatest button combination in history.
Really? I'll have to give it another shot then I guess. I use Photoshop CS4, and I've never had a hard time with the user interface.
(I'll find some tutorials and PM you the links)

How do you just, y'know, draw though? Moreover how do layers even work? Layers seem to make sense in Flash, but in Photoshop it's like: When I use the eraser to scrub out a silly line that made its way in there, and there's something else on the layer below that, it seems to cover it in white! So I'm not actually erasing, I'm painting over the imagine on top with white. It seriously just annoys the hell out of me, all honesty I only spend a minute before giving up again, but Adobe could actually do moreover with cleaning up their program and keeping things simple.

You have the layer transparency locked, I think. Try going to the layer that you're trying to erase and clicking the little button that looks like a linoleum tile next to the word "lock" on the layers minimenu.
That should solve that.
It's not erasing white, it's filling it in with your secondary color, which actually can come in handy.
(These buttons might not be the same exactly cause I'm using CS4)
