Jack looked around almost odd. She didn't hurt anymore, and her body looked perfictly fine. Yet her heart hurt more than ever. She didn't want to die, but she knew she had to. It was the only way to save her mother, and she prayed hard that Mikey would be free too. She looked behind her almost expecting to see him there. It hurt more when all she seen was white. Jack looked at her mother. So happy that she was free. She smiled lightly even over the pain she felt. She reached out and took her hand. "What happens now?" she asked lightly as she looked her mother over, and her hand held on tightly. It was another fear. Here she finally had her mother and she was scared she was going to be taken away. "What happens to Mikey? Is he going to be safe . . . will he go back home?" she asked lightly as she looked down at the ground. "He has done so much for me . . . even became my very first real friend. Even though he knew what I could do, and he stuck with me threw all of this . . . Will he be safe to go home?" she asked again.

"You'll have to see for yourself." Alyssa said cryptically. She smiled at Jack once more, and gripped her hand tighter. Jack suddenly felt the air leave her lungs, felt herself suffocating as her mother looked on. Once again, her world went black.
-------------------------
Mikey came to, the first thing that he saw was Jack. Blood flowed freely, pooling on the ground and spreading out. He tried to sit up, tried to go to her, but found he couldnt. His body wouldnt respond. He felt himself turn to his back, and saw Claudia standing over him.
"You've caused me as much trouble as she, and you'll meet the same fate." She said, the wooden peice of wood freeing itself from Jack's body. He looked over at Jack, sorrow filling his heart, when he noticed it. As Claudia prepared to kill him, he saw something. Black fog, coming from Jack's body. From the hole in her chest. It branched out like veins in a body, filling the air.
Mikey couldnt help but smirk. "Go for it." He said with a smile. "You'll get yours either way." He laughed. Claudia smiled as well, thinking his words were empty.
"I dont think so." She said, her hand raised, the pole winding back to deliver the killing blow. The fog wrapping around it and Claudia's hand. She looked back to see the fog, in time for the strings of black smoke to solidify, turning to deadly barbed wire. Claudia screamed out as the barbs dug into her flesh, holding her in place as other wire started to appear and wrap around her.
-------------------------
Jack opened her eyes, gasping and coughing for air as if she had just come out of a pool after nearly drowning. She looked around, saw the burning building, saw Claudia being tortured, saw Mikey on the ground, and saw the burned and scarred for of her mother standing among the fire, barbed wire snaking its way from between her bandages. She looked over to Jack and smiled, waving her hand and sending the debris piled on Jack accross the room.

Jack laid there for a moment. Looking around the room almost dazed as to what was going on. The debri was no longer on her, and she was no longer dead. Jack felt a bit lost as to what was going on. Her hand drifted to her chest. The blood still stained her close, but the hole was gone as it it never even happened. Yet she still felt tired and weak. That didn't stop her from crawling over to Mikey. She didn't even wait for him to completely sit up before she was wrapping her arms around him in a big hug. She looked over him to her mother. She smiled lightly before looking to Claudia, and smiled even bigger. The woman was getting exactly what she had deserved. Looking back to her mother she smiled. "Thank you . . . for everything," she said lightly.

Alyssa smiled at Jack. She started to say something, but the words were cut off by a cracking sound that came from above. They looked up to see the cealing start to collapse. It started to fall, embers floating in the air, as Alyssa raised her hand.
The peice of the roof stopped in mid air, the fire around them as well. Time seemed to freeze as she looked at Jack and Mikey. "Run." She said calmly. Mikey, finding he could move again, rolled to his side and stood up. He stumbled a bit, a pain in most of his body from being thrown against the wall. He grabbed Jack's arm and helped her to her feet, pulling her along to the door. It was all well and good that they had done what they had come to do, and it was slightly strange that Jack was alive again, but those were thoughts to be pondered at another time.
Alyssa smiled again at Jack as she was pulled along, mouthing the words 'I love you' as Jack lost sight of her when Mikey pulled her around the corner. He didnt stop until they got out into the main yard of the church, away from the building, nearly to the sidewalk outside of the main gate. As if he had been fighting it for the entire time, Mikey collapsed and laid on the ground panting.

Jack looked on as the church burned. Tears streaming down her face as she watched knowing well enough that she was watching her mother die. Her heart breaking as she hit her knees. Her hands drifted to her face as she leaned forward resting her head on the concrete, and she started crying. She cried loud and hard as her hands drifted from her face to wrap around herself. Grabbing her arms as she continued to cry. She had found her mother, and now she had lost her again. She would never get to experience what it was like to have a real mother. To have a mother who cared for her. She had only gotten to experience the mother who would sacrifice herself to save her child, and it hurt more than dying ever did.

Mikey looked over at Jack on the ground, feeling sorry for her. The best thing in her life, snatched away from her in an instant. He looked away for a moment, trying to think of a way to help her, to take away the pain.
"Jack..." He said limply. He took in a breath and reached over to put his hand on her shoulder. "Jack." He said, more resolute. "If theres one thing this place means, its that death isnt final. You really think this would have went on if death was the end of the line? Your mom was killed in the 60's, and 40 years later, you were able to see her, touch her, talk to her. You'll see her again." Mikey said, something he believed from the bottom of his heart.

Jack looked up at Mikey with tears streaming down her face. She then turned to look at the burning building. She smiled lightly at the site. Even if she never seen her mother again, at least she was free from this place. At least she was able to do something good in her life. Jack looked back to Mikey and with his help she was able to stand. She stumbled slightly still feeling weak in the knees. Her hand drifting to her chest as she looked down. Her close showed the blood and resembled the death, but her physical body did no such thing. It didn't even look like she had even been stabbed. She looked at Mikey and smiled lightly. "Thank you," she said as she rested against him. "Now to get out of here. Lets try the roads again." Laughing slightly. "There's probably going to be a long walk ahead of us."

"Probably shouldnt count on hitchhiking either..." Mikey said with a smirk, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a cigarette. He lit it up, and took a deep breath of the smoke. As if his promise that he would quit if they made it out of this alive came back to kick him in the ass and remind him, he started to cough uncontrollably. The cigarette dropped from his mouth, and he spit the taste from his mouth.
"Oh god... All right, all right. Damn..." He said, talking to no one in particular, as if someone had done it on purpose from another world just to mess with him. He reached into his pocket and grabbed the half full pack, tossing it to the ground and started walking.
Sure enough, when they got to one of the roads that had been demolished and led to a pit of nothingness below, they found that it was intact again. They kept walking, slowly starting to notice changes in the scenery. The once near pristine condition of the town slowly started to rot away. What was left looked more... right. Burned buildings, trash littering the streets, sometimes the shell of an old car that was totally destroyed was in the middle of the street. The fog soon seemed to lift, and they were greeted with the harsh glare of the sun over their heads, the fresh smell of garbage and general unkeeping surrounding them.
"Never thought I'd be happy to smell that..." Mikey said. He was looking foreward to going back and pushing a mop around a floor for eight hours a day...

Jack smiled lightly as Mikey threw the cigarette's down. "They always said smoking was bad for your health," she said with a slight laugh. She looked back toward the town. Her heart still hurt, but she smiled despite it. Her mother was free, and that was all that mattered anymore to her. She looked back at Mikey as they came to the 'Now Leaving Silent Hill' sign. She turned back to look upon the town once more. "Everything is in it's place now," she said as she looked back to Mikey. "I hope it stays that way. At least for mother's sake," she said as she turned toward Mikey. "Remember where I parked my bike?" she asked with a laugh. Shaking her head as they started walking again. "You know I've been planning on moving. My collage courses were quite dull, and I've lost a bit of intrest in them. Got any idea on where I should got?"

"Think you left it about 30 miles that way." Mikey said, pointing in the general direction of the town they had come from. "We came in the truck, and I'm betting it's nowhere to be found now..." He said. They'd taken it in the other world, so it was probably in his neighbors driveway.
"Actually, I've been thinking of moving away too. This place gets pretty lonely sometimes." He said, refering to his studio apartment. "Dont make much sense getting rid of that dojo." He said, remembering her telling him about it. "I keep things clean, I can hold down a job. Got a room open?" He asked her with a grin.

Jack looked at Mikey and smiled. "Yep, I have a spare room you can have," she said as they continued to walk. The trees seeming to widen out onto the highway. "Well first things first when we get back. Need to go grocery shopping," she said with a laugh. Shaking her head as she turned around to look down the road they came from. She stopped for a moment and sighed a bit. "I guess something did come out of this vacation," she said lightly as she turned to look at Mikey. She smiled lightly as she looked at him. In turn starting back down the road. "I wonder if my motorcycle is at the mall or your home," she said with a slight grin.

"You know..." Mikey said. "I really dont know." He said as he walked down the road. "I would say my house, but... Hard to tell." He said. They had walked about a mile so far, and he had to say he wasnt tired. The thought that they were back to normal, for good this time, was keeping him energized. Normally, he would have thought a 30 or so mile walk to be unbearable. Now, after everything, he was thinking it was a small price to pay for going home.
"How is that dojo anyway?" He asked. He'd heard her mention it a few times, but nothing about what kind of condition it was in.

"It's pretty good. I managed to get a grant with the help of my former instructors. Had it built in this nice area," she said as she looked around. "Small two lane road up threw a bunch of trees. Several paths threw the woods that I make the students run from time to time. There's also a small bath house with a sana in it, and a gym. Not to mention wooded off in the back is a rather decent size zen guarden for meditation. It's a two story building. My home is on the top. Three bedrooms and two bath, not including the bath house. An one of the rooms has been turned into my office. There's a nice kitchen, living room, and dinning room there," she explained.
She laughed a bit. "It was half a grant and half a gift from my previous instructors. Nice place, but and what I pay for the rest of it is rather cheep from how big it is. But man is it still costly," she laughed a bit. "Though I guess that's because I don't really charge people all to much for the dojo, and I let some slide." Shaking her head she looked down at the ground. "Not to mention at the top of the road we managed to talk the bus station into making it one of the stops. Makes it quite convienet for the students. I thought about making it a gym. Because the equipment in the gym is pretty nice, and the area is rather large. Not to mention the bathhouse is nice as well." She put her finger to her chin and taped it a bit. "What would you say about that? It would bring in more money, and I could probably get you a good check with that. . . Hmm . . ."

"Sounds like a nice place." Mikey said. "Paycheck is always nice, but room and board is expensive these days. I think working around the place, cleaning this or that would about cover it." He said. In fact he knew that wouldnt. He'd have to find more to do to help her out.
"You know, if you need something done around there... Well, shop class was the only one I passed." He said. He left out the part that if she actually needed something that he could do, the materials would be more expensive than anything else. At least he had some tools.
"Hey... I just thought of something..." He said. "How would we move? I sure as hell aint riding on the back of your bike again." He said with a laugh.

Jack laughed slightly as she looked at Mikey. "I have a truck sitting at home, but it doesn't do us much good there," she said with a laugh. "You can probably have it when we get back. I can always use my bike." She paused for a moment in thought before sighing. "I can call my teacher, and have him and his son pick it up. They can meet us at your place. He has a truck too, so we could probably hit everything in one shot," she pointed out. Looking around the street as she looked behind them again. She sighed a bit before hanging her head. "We get to a town, and I can get a pay phone. Call them, and then have them pick us up. Hopefully were not to far away. At least a couple hours. So we may have to hit up a hotel for the night," she pointed out.
