Jack stood there and watched as Mikey woke up on the other side of the mirror. She sighed with relief knowing that there was a way out of this world. Shaking her head a bit she looked around the room, before reaching out toward the mirror. Her hand gripping the bear tightly almost absently fearful that it would be taken away from her when she woke up. She didn't know why she wanted to keep it so much. It was from someone claiming to be her mother, but she never even knew her real mother. She shook her head as her hand touched the mirror.
The faint dismal darkness taking her once more. The feeling of her body falling. Jack's eyes shot open as she laid there staring off toward the wall. She didn't move, almost like not wanting to get out of bed. Her hand gripping tightly the furry arm of the bear. She looked up at the bear and smiled lightly as she climbed to her knees. She held it out in front of her and examined it closely. "Looks like we can take things out of that world and bring it to ours," she said lightly as she looked over to Mikey. "Are you okay?" she asked lightly as she climbed to her feet.

"I'm fine..." He said, sitting up and coughing once. "...but I sure do wish that we could pick a dimenshion and stick with it." He added. Standing up and stretching his back out, he heard her comment about being able to keep things they grabbed in the mirror world and checked to see if the gun he had taken was still there. Sure enough, it was ticked in his wasitband where he left it. Getting an idea, he walked to the desk and looked at it. The drawer was open, and there was no gun. Most curiously, he found the tip of a small blade inside the drawer. "Apparantly, what we do there also effects this world."
He looked around the security room, for some kind of clue. As soon as they had gone through the looking glass, as it were, they had been given a very linier path to where to go next. Common sense told him that someone or something was guiding them, and thus would have a new clue for them. A small note on the desk provided it.
"Hey, come look at this." He said, picking it up and looking it over. He started to read it aloud.
"When it seems like all hope is lost and you have nowhere to go, just remember that a loving mother is always there to guide the way." He read. He scratched his head and looked around at Jack, then looked back to the note. He dropped it on the desk and sighed. "Now what the fu*k is that supposed to mean?!" He snapped.

Jack looked up at Mikey and then back down to the note. She still held the bear in her off hand almost completely forgetting that she had it. Looking down to the bear she set it down on the desk and picked up the note. She pulled the other one out of her coat pocket and held it up to Mikey. "Kinda like this," she said pointing out the phrase about the mirrors. "I never knew my mother or father. Always told that they were killed in a horrible accident, and that I was the only one to survive. The orphanage told me that none of my family wanted me so I was stuck there." She sighed a bit as she stuck the notes together, and pocked them again.
"I don't really remember much of my childhood, but I knew that I was always picked on. I was called a freak and a witch. I couldn't really control my powers all to well, and what made matters worse was they were small and hardly noticeable. The more I grew up the more I learned to control them. Until I was adopted. Always drugged up and forced to repeat day in and day out that I was normal that I had no powers. Soon enough I began to believe it, and they stopped all together," she explained. Jack held the bear tightly in her hands as she looked down at it. She sighed heavily, before looking back at the mirror that reflected their own images.
"I've been having nightmares for the past two years. Nightmares like these, and my powers started coming back out. I got into a fight with my adopted parents about them, and decided to take a long vacation. I stopped here for that break, but I guess I didn't get it." She sighed as she turned toward the door. Shaking her head a bit before she walked toward it. "Something tells me that this is going to get worse, and fast," she explained as she pushed open the door. "Lets keep looking for that exit."

"Sounds like a plan..." Mikey said, still thinking about Jack's story. What did it mean? She was in an orphanage, and her mother was now making herself known to the woman. What did it mean?
He shook the thoughts from his head and held her .45 in his hand. He wondered if he should give it back to her, but he figured she wouldnt have given it to him if she had planned on using it for herself. And with the moves she had been pulling... Still, he knew she needed something. He walked to the door and put his ear to it, listening for anything that might be outside.
"We need to find you a weapon of some kind." He said matter-o-factly. "Whats your preference?" He asked, opening the door after hearing nothing outside.

Jack shook her head at the mention of a weapon. "No weapons for me," she spoke lightly as she looked around the hall. "I'm better off with my skills. Lousy at guns. Do have a hand in swords though," she pointed out as she noticed something odd. There was a faint mist that seemed to be surrounding what would usually have been the front of the mall, but they both new that it was impossible. No matter how many times they were at the front of the mall they weren't. She looked up at Mikey and shook her head. "Guess we best check it out," she said as she followed in tow behind him.
The further they moved into he mist the thicker it seemed to get. Soon enough they couldn't see two feet in front of them. It was only then that Jack heard the familiar sound. The motor reeving up as the high whirling sound echoed threw the mist. She pushed Mikey forward as she stumbled back. A faint glimpse of the blade from the chainsaw just inches from her face. Jack heard the chain saw move and the sound came high as she ducked under and raced forward. She gripped Mikey's arm, only to pull him close to make sure it was him, and pulled him out forward.
She couldn't see what she was running two or what obstacles laid in their path, but all she knew was they had to move. Soon enough they ran smack dab into the glass windows of the front building. Pulling Mikey along with windows with one hand, she searched for a door with the other and listened to the sound of the chainsaw with her ears. Soon enough she found the door and pushed it open. Stumbling out into a fairly misty parking lot, but one they could see much better. "Where's your car?" she asked as he pointed to a bike locked against the side of the building. "Not, good. I'm getting my bike and your coming with."
Jack took off direction of her bike with Mikey in toe, pulling out her keys as she did. When she reached the bike she threw the keys in the ignition and turned on the bike. Throwing her helmet to Mikey as she turned to him. "Yes put it on, and no arguments. I may be able to ride two, but I'm not risking your life either," she said as she waited for him to put it on. She in turn zipping up her jacket. She pulled her bike out and waited for Mikey to climb on. The extra weight dropping the bike just a bit. Once everything was secure she took off as fast as she could. Quickly getting the bike up, and soon enough realizing that the gate doors were open allowing them free access to the street. An once more they seemed to be back on the road. Jack sighed with relief as she looked back, but nothing was behind them.

Mikey shot backwards glances every time he dared, looking to see if by some sort of fu*ked up joke the monster was standing back there right before it suddenly blinked into existance right on the back fender of the bike. He was very releived to see that it wasnt so, but he kept looking. And while he did this, he kept a deathgrip on Jack.
She probably figured it even if he wouldnt be the first to admit it, but he was scared sh*tless. Being on the back of her bike was, in his opinion, worse than being back at the mall. He'd always been afraid of things like this, anything from being on the back of a friends bike to riding a roller coaster ride. It all scared him to no end.
He started to recognise the street they were on as his own, and lifted the visor to yell at Jack. "Pull over right here!" He yelled pointing at a driveway about 20 feet from them. He felt his heart leap into his throat and she turned and nearly, at least it seemed to him, scraped the side of them along the cement. When she brought it to a stop, he tried to back off, but couldnt. He then tried to get off to the side, only to lose his footing and fall roughly to the ground.
He laid on the ground for a moment letting his heart slow before he sat up and looked up to her. "I aint doing that again!" He said, refering more to the ride than the dismount. He stood up and stretched his back a bit before handing her back her helmet and motioning to the house. "Come on in, make yourself at home." He said, thinking they were in the clear and free of the mall madness.

Jack pulled the keys out of the bike as she set the kickstand down. She propped the helmet on the mirror as she looked around. No raining ash, no Stael air, and no dark mist. Lights were on in surroundings homes and it made her feel good that they were free of that hellish nightmare. Maybe Mikey would let her use his shower. She could use a good hot shower after all that had happened. Climbing off her bike she quickly followed after Mikey, and waited for him to open the door. An yet to both of them it was like they were standing ready for something to jump out at them when he did.
Yet nothing came. She sighed with relief as she shook her head. Unzipping her jacket she removed it as she stepped inside. "Nice home," she said as she looked around before setting her jacket on the side of a chair. She removed her gloves and tossed them on her jacket as she did. Turning back to the door she locked it and dead bolted the door along with the chain. "For security measures," she said with a half baked laugh. "Still jumpy," she pointed out as she looked around the room. "Care if I use your shower. I really need to clean up, and maybe wash my cloths if possible?" she asked as she looked up at him.

"Ya sure, its back there." He said, pointing to one of the two doors in the place. It was a studio apartment, very small but quite comfortable for only him. And affordable, which was all he had looked for when he had searched for a place to move away from home. As soon as he got to the couch that folded out into his bed, he just about collapsed onto it. He'd never felt so tired in his life.
"Theres towles and junk in the bathroom, and you can put your cloths in the little washer there." He said, refering to the one that was only big enough to about wash an outfit worth of cloths at one time. "I can find you something if you want." He said, falling over to the side and laying on the couch. Now that he was lying down, he didnt feel sleepy at all. He ached quite a bit, and lying here felt good, but he was no longer ready to pass out where he sat.
As he layed, he felt something poke him in the side. He reached under and pulled out one of the pistols he'd been carrying. He sighed a bit, as if the chunk of metal in his hand was the sole reminder that the happenings hadnt been some sort of crazy dream as he wished it had been. He threw the thoughts from his mind, not caring to remember what had happened, and slid the Glock underneath the couch where he kept those kinds of things. He'd lock it up later.
He felt the weird feeling in his stomach that he knew meant he was hungry, and took a look at the clock. He mouthed the word "wow" when he saw that he had first gone off to work about 15 hours ago. "Time flies when your having fun..." He couldnt help but mutter, and stood up to go and see what he could find in the kitchen.

Jack nodded slightly as she headed off to the room. She sighed a bit as she shut the door behind her and rested against the door. Closing her eyes as she just stood there for a bit. Finally calming down enough to realize that they were free she started stripping her cloths and threw them in the washer. It wouldn't take to long for them to wash since it was just one outfit. Not to mention she wanted to take a nice hot shower and then relax in a warm bath. So in between they could be drying as well. She climbed into the shower letting the water run over her. Finally content enough she washed up, and climbed out.
Putting the plug in the tub she let it fill full of water as she threw her cloths in the dryer. Stopping for a moment she looked into the mirror almost a bit hesitant on doing so, but once she seen a normal reflexion she smiled. Climbing into the tub she just slid down into the hot water, and closed her eyes. She let out a sigh of relief as she just relaxed in the water. Letting it wash away all her pains. What seemed like hours and after a long beep of her cloths being done. She climbed out of the tub and pulled her cloths out. Getting dressed she moved over to the door. Though she didn't know what she was going to do after this. She didn't want to go home yet.

Mikey couldnt decide what to eat. Everything looked like a gormet meal in paper bags, cardboard boxes, or plastic bowls. He finally decided that he was going to get something to drink first.
He cracked open a can of coke and drank about half of it before he stopped for a breath, then finished it before tossing it into a trash can half filled with other cans. He opened the fridge back up and closed his eyes to pick something, grabbing a pizza box with half a pepperoni pizza in it and tossing it onto the cheap folding card table with two chairs in the kitchen. The table saw less use as a place to eat and more use as a place for the weekly card game he hosted and cheated at with a few people from the block. Turned 20 dollars in 100 every week.
He heard the shower start up, and figured she'd be a while. After that, she'd want a long shower. He was glad he'd gotten the water heater fixed.
As he sat at the table and enjoyed a peice of pizza, he read a boke he'd left on the counter. "Hannibal" by Thomas Harris. He'd always liked those movies as a kid, and just recently found the set of books at a garage sale. This was the last one, and he was more than half way done.
He continued to read in peace until he heard the door open.

Jack ran her fingers threw her hair providing an artificial brush. She looked around the studio as she moved to an open area. Seeing Mikey sitting at a table eating she smiled lightly. "Hannibal, quite an interesting read, and even better move," she said as she walked over to him and sat down in the free chair. She looked up at him and smiled. "This is quite a nice place," she said as she relaxed in the chair and tilted her head back as she closed her eyes. "It feels good to just sit down and not have to worry about running for you life."
She could already feel herself falling asleep as she laid back a bit in the chair. Her mind already drifting into the darkness of her mind. Then an image she had never seen crossed her dreams. A dark face with a wicked smile. One that caused her to nearly jump as she sat up. She looked around the room before letting off a sigh of relief. Shaking her head she put her hand up to her face and rubbed her eyes. "I think I've already gone insane," she spoke lightly as she shook her head. "Though at least in that place I didn't have any nightmares when I closed my eyes." That was granted they were living the nightmares. She looked up and around the room before sighing a bit. "I should get out of your hair," she said as she stood up stretching her arms.
She looked back at Mikey with a smile. "Thank you for all your help, and for saving my life quite a few time in that hell," she said as she walked to her coat. "Though I don't know what's going to happen now. Your job was there? I don't even know what's going to happen to use now, but I know I don't need to pull you around anymore." She looked back to him with a smile. "Thanks again for all your help, oh and keep the gun. Don't care to much for them," she said with a smile.

"Your nuts." Mikey said, having been reading but still listening to everything Jack said. He had just finished the chapter he was on, and placed the folded up peice of paper he used as a book mark in the book before shutting it and setting it on the table.
"The book is always better than the movie." He quiped, folding his arms at his chest and leaning back in his chair. "You dont have to leave. Trust me, I dont get many visitors and I have fewer friends. Haveing someone around for the hell of it is always nice. Especially someone as cool as you." He said, slightly sad at the fact that she may be leaving and that he'd never see her again. She was, in a way, the best friend he'd ever had. The small group of people he used to hang out with in school were all gone, having gone off to college or just moved away. Meanwhile, he was still here.
Suddenly, a loud banging on the door could be heard. Mikey looked over at it and raised his eyebrows. He wasnt expecting anyone, and someone coming over unexpected never seemed to happen.
"Hang on." He said, standing up and walking over to the door. He had no peep hole or any other way to see out of the door, so he simply opened it up. No one was there. "Fu*king kids..." He said, trying to explain away something that had never happened before. He swung the door closed, and again some knocking was heard. He whipped the door open, and looked all around outside. But, the only thing that was there was a small package. Written on it was a name.
Jaqualine.
Mikey stared at it for a moment, almost trying to convince himself that he was seeing things or that by some cosmic event someone was playing a joke on someone else named Jaqualine and had just happened to place it on the wrong doorstep on the worst possible day in history. He was unaware that he was quietly wispering the word "no" under his breath over and over again like a mantra that would make it all go away.
After almost a minute of looking at it, Mikey picked it up gingerly, half expecting it to explode. No, that would have been to easy. Wearing a very serious and fearful look, he turned to Jack and held up the package, his hand shaking slightly.

Jack was half curious as to the fear in Mikey's eyes. The tremble in his hands. It was almost as if he had seen a ghost for the first time in his life. He held out a package in his hands as if he was handing it to her, but she didn't understand why. No one knew she was here and she sure as hell didn't sign up for any sweep stakes and used his address for the delivery point. Tilting her head in confusion as he didn't move only stood there holding the package out to her. Stepping up rather slowly she looked at the 'To:' name on the package and just stood there. Her eyes growing wide as she didn't understand.
Her mind went blank as she started at the package. It wasn't until her helmet hit the ground that she was forced to come to reality, but it wasn't reality. With trembling hands of her own she took the package from Mikey, and walked with it to the card table. Setting it down she started at it for the longest time. "This . . . this isn't right . . . this can't be right," she mumbled under her breath as she closed her eyes and sighed heavily. Finally giving in she started pulling the brown paper from the box and threw it on the ground knowing that she would pick it up later.
In a way she was hoping everything was a sick joke. That some how it was a horrible coincidence that two people head the same name. Yet no matter how many times she wanted to deny it, she knew that deep down inside this was true. That they weren't out of hell just yet. Her hand reached up as she started pulling the tape back. The lips of the top moving slightly to keep a shadow over the items inside. Swallowing hard she opened the top and looked inside.

Inside the small box was a locket. Small and gold, it held a picture of a small girl in a school uniform. The girl looked a bit like Jack, if she were about ten years younger. There was also a small note, written on the back of what looked like a peice torn off of a map. The note said "Come home" and the map was of the greater West Virginia area. A city was circled in red. A city that wasnt far from the town they were in now.
The city circled in red was one that many of the locals knew. Or more, knew of. Knew the horror stories about it, and knew the real ones.
The city that was circled was named Silent Hill.
Mikey still stood in the living room, the door still wide open. He looked over at Jack, not quite as panicked as before, but still frightened. Even more so, he was angry. They had just gotten free of that hell hole, and now they were being thrust back into it.
He turned to slam the door in anger, only to see the outside. It was no longer the twighlight hour with the sun glimmering over the mountains and the shadows growing larger as the night came closer. No, not it seemed like daytime on a very cloudy and dreary day. A fog hung in the air that was much to light to be fog, and snow fell from the sky that wafted around in a way that didnt look right for snow.
The outside world had gone back to the way it had been when they had been in that parking lot.
"Jack..." Mikey muttered, disbelief in his voice at something so drastic happening in the five seconds he had his back turned. "We're...we're back..." He whispered, a sense of defeat and hopelessness in his voice.

Jack didn't look up at Mikey when he called her name. She sighed heavily as she closed her eyes. "I know," she spoke lightly as she pocketed the note. She reached up and put the locked around her neck, and then hid it behind her shirt. She looked back at Mikey as he stood at the door. "Gather your things, and get your weapons," she said as she walked outside. She left her helmet were it laid mostly for the fact that she knew she wasn't going to be taking her bike. From the way Mikey held onto her she could tell that he was scared, and she wasn't going to put him threw it. Plus it was going to be a bit longer ride.
Looking over she seen a old gray pick up truck. Grinning a bit she looked back at Mikey. "Were not taking my bike. Just come over to your neighbors house," she said as she walked across the yard. She opened the door to the truck and looked around for a hidden set of keys. "Yeah right," she told herself knowing for a fact that they wouldn't be there. Reaching under the dash she pulled out the wires and cut two in half. Using them to touch together she could hear the engineer trying to start. After a few attempts it was finally running.
She climbed in and shut the door waiting on Mikey to come. She wasn't going to leave him behind, mostly for the fact that this wasn't his home. At least not his home and the real world. She looked back at him as he climbed into the truck and shut the door. "Hope you brought your guns," she said as she back out of the drive way. Turning on the lights she sighed heavily. "The orphanage I lived in was close to Silent Hill. I don't really understand what is going on, but our best bet is that town," she said as she took off down the street.
