Raccoon City's only power plant, the R.C.N.P. The Raccoon City Nuclear Plant; this power plant provides energy to Raccoon City and outlying cities as well. Being a connected series of plants, this massive structure stretches nearly two football fields wide. Some people praise the technology as a low-cost, low-emission alternative to fossil fuels, while others stress the negative impact of nuclear waste and accidents such as Three Mile Island and Chernobyl. The power plant is a life saver for the city's massive fuel cost over the years. There is an electrical building on the south side of the outlying plant which is conviently connected to the Raccoon City Sewer System as well as the city itself from a series of pump buildings and various side streets.

[Rebecca and Louis enter from the Shopright Super Center]
Rebecca was certainly surprised when she was offered a lift, and despite not having anywhere she needed to be, she got in. His driving scared her a bit though, she felt she was probably more at risk of death in the car than out of it. She rubbed the cut on her shoulder sorely. Well, if I can survive one car accident, I can probably make it through another. She thought dryly, looking out the window for a moment.
This all reminded her so much of when she was little. She was allowed a gun then, too, and she spent the majority of her time in the backseat with her Uncle at the wheel. She glanced lazily at today's chauffeur. This was... kinda awkward. She had no idea who he was. Well... that should be expected. It is the 'apocalypse'. She thought sarcastically before opening her mouth.
"So... uh... who're you..?" She asked somewhat quietly and awkwardly as she looked her gun over, rubbing at some scratches and smudges with her shirt. She glanced lazily at out the window once more, wondering why they were driving to the Power Plant, of all places.

Along the drive, Louis thought about what went on not three days earlier, if leaving Rey in the hands of Chrysil was the right idea or not. Too late to turn back now, he could only try to justify it inside his own mind. Amanda probably lead the on some chase for Joey or something stupid, he didn't care if the man was dead or alive. Sure, it would be a downer, but life goes on, right? Louis would be happy if he didn't have seem him again, or his friends. Right now, all he wanted was to be left alone, and finish somethings hes started. It may not make all the difference in the world, but it would be enough to set himself in the right frame of mind. Making sure that Raccoon City still had enough power to at least make contact with the outside easier, it would be mutually beneficial.
Out of all the bad things Louis has done in his lifetime, he always bad up for it by doing what he believed were favors for people. It wasn't just giving this young girl a lift, it was where he was headed to would make a difference. But really, he couldn't leave her all by herself, she looked to be still in her teens. As she asked the question, Louis didn't really know how to respond, her voice catching him off guard. Easing on the gas, he jammed the E brake, and slid to a stop on the streets outside of the facility. Not feeling like he was ignoring her, Louis got out, and opened up the car door for her. "Louis..." Shutting it after she jumped out, he held open the drivers door, and then looked at her once again. "...Go find you family, kid."

Rebecca stepped out of the car, adjusting the strap on her shoulder before looking up at the man. "Well Louis, I'm Rebecca." She started off with a calm tone, despite fiddling with her hands. Before continuing she pulled her lips into a sardonic smile. "Oh of course. My family. If you could tell me where they are, I'd be real thankful. 'Cause from what I gather, they're all pretty dang dead. Like, little-tiny-wormies-crawling-out-the-eye-sockets dead." She said bitterly, her tone contradicting her expression.
She continued the smile for a moment, just to the point where it made things awkward. Not feeling bad for making things even weirder, he'd brought it up. She stood there, still smiling, before adjusting the strap on her bag again. "So, uh... What're you doing at the power plant? Doesn't seem like a prime location to survive an outbreak."

Well that certainly was a way to think possitive, Louis was a little shocked at the girls words. Perhaps it was just her talking, and not her brain. Sometimes death was a hard concept to grasp, especially having your parents killed. Its something that no teenager should have to go through, but its almost natural now. Closing the car door, Louis pocketed the keys, and then turned to face the direction of the building. "Im not trying to survive, that part comes naturally. The heart to the power in Raccoon City, this Facility. We cut the power, lights out for everyone. We make sure its on full capacity, you can get the chance to keep the emergency lights running everywhere..."
It wasnt in his intrest to help anybody intentionally, but he had to make sure the emergency power was still generating around the city. It would make his own traval easier, and survival rate higher as well. Deep inside, he had another goal, that wouldnt dare surface. Something drove him, and hes yet to realize exactly what it was. As he began to walk toward the facility away from the car, Louis turned to Rebecca, speaking out without his grim voice. "...Unless you wanna help me out, you shouldve just taken off in the car, princess."

She didn't seem to really notice his shock in response to her words, it was something she'd gotten used to years ago. People weren't usually okay with things that she said, and she never really knew what was the right thing to say in any given situation. It was one of the many perks of social awkwardness and Rebecca tried not to let it get to her. And besides, she'd accepted death already. Her parents had been dead a long time anyhow.
"Wow, Saint Louis, that's mighty kind of you. Keeping the city safe-well as safe as safe is nowadays-by letting the light shine in. Hallelujah!" She waved her hands in mock praise before stepping after him. Having nowhere else to be, nothing else to be doing, there was no harm in helping him get some power to the city. In fact, it'd give her something to do with her hands, which she could always use.
"Well I would take the car, but, y'know, there're kind of zombies out there and I'm in no kinda rush. So what can I do to help?"

Louis and Rebecca had been walking to the facility fence, seeing that there it was a tall structure that made passing a little more difficult. There were no easy routes in further, and the locked on the swinging portion were designed not to let just anybody inside. So, it looks as if they had to go over the fence, maybe unlock the gate from that side so it would make getting out easier. "Alright, well for starters, ill give you a boost over and you can unlock the gate for me..." Louis hated to rely on other people, but there wasnt any other way inside. Unless they were to completely plow the fence down, and risk losing a vehicle.
Crouching down with his against the metal, Louis folder his hands, locking fingers into place so he had enough leverage to hoist the girl to the top. It wasnt that she looked heavy, but it was a lot of weight to be putting on your hands. Grunting several times, he gave Rebecca a boost up, and watched as she climbed over, landing on the other side. Stranding up straight, Louis walked over to the gate, and then saw a control device. "Dont think you know the code, so here, use this." He thought twice about really tossing over his combat knife, but there was something about this girl that he liked. She wasnt a scared, emotionally wrecked individual who he could easily assume would be. Rebecca caught the knife in his sheath, as Louis nodded.

Rebecca landed lightly on the other side of the fence. Brushing off her knees and standing up straight, she turned around in time to catch the knife. "Gotcha, chief." She said, giving him a two fingered salute before tossing his knife back. "But I'd rather use my own." She grinned, pulling a sturdy hunting knife out of her bag and heading over to the control device.
Huffing some hair out of her face, she studied it for a few moments. "... hmm..." She squinted before delicately inserting the knife into the key card slot. She ran it up and down the slot, waiting to feel something, and when she did she jerked it. The light turned green, it worked. She turned back, tossing her knife in the air and catching it by the handle, putting it back into her bag. "All clear!"

Louis didnt let her see it, but he was impressed by the young girl carrying around her own knife, and being able to use it in this kind of situation. There werent many people he liked to be around, but she was definitely jumped up to near top spot on his list. After getting the gate open, Louis walked in, making sure to still retain a fairly low profile. The infected could hear well enough that too much noise would give away their position, it was prefered that they go in and out without making any contact at all. But if it was nessicary, he wouldnt have to worry about the girl too much. "Good work, try not to get too over confident with that thing, though. Stick with your nine mil handgun, that shotgun of yours on your back would be useless for you."
Not using an offensive tone, it was evidentally too big for Rebecca to be using, based on her size. Louis moved past her, and then opened up the doors into the power plant. Immediately, he aimed his SMG around with one hand, checking for signs of any infected. Once the coast was clear, he waved in Rebecca, and then rushed for the stairs to the higher overlook. Balancing himself on the railing, Louis looked over and down, seeing it was a good 8 foot drop. Vaulting himself over, he held on using his hands and feet, preparing to jump off. "Spot me until its clear, okay?" Without waiting for a reply, Louis dropped down, rolling onto his side before stopping into a crouch.
Instantly, he aimed his gun around, it was darker in this part of the plant. Seeing a flashlight spotlight its way down around the room, it gave Louis a good illuminated room. Seeing a metal door on the paralelle side, he seen that it could be used to get into the room. But it was locked from somewhere else, making this a little trickier. A small vent on the bottem of the door caught his attenton, as Louis got onto his back and gave it a good kick with the heel of his boot to smash it off. Hearing Rebecca coming down the metal steps now, Louis spoke through the vent toward her. "Think you can fit?"

"Well gee, thanks for the compliment St. Louis." She said, following him into the power plant, letting him lead. He was right, she wasn't fond of using that shotgun, the recoil was too much for her petite frame.
She did as she was told, following him around and doing her best to help. As she padded down the metal steps she stopped, looking at the vent. "Waitwaitwait... you want me to go through there?" She asked bluntly, raising an eyebrow. "Honest? That seems so... secret-agent-y." She shrugged after a moment. "I could probably fit."

Saint Louis, the name was the pinnacle of irony, if there ever was one. He was far from a saint, but bridged the came between the former and a sinner. His past haunted him every waking moment, but things are gonna change now for the better. "Of course you can fit, come on..." Without waiting up, Louis marched back down the hall, and into the larger complex area. This is where all the controls were, a lot of the power was run by computer terminals and large mainframes. But it seemed a little more complicated than that once he started looking around. The flashing screens and silent alarms were a good indication that there was a surge in the power supply, and he wanted to find it.
As Rebecca caught up with him, Louis turned around and spoke. "You any good with technology? Cant say id ever put my trust in electronics. See what you can do, alright?" Louis heard a door smash open down the hallway, and jumped right into action. Now holding his SMG with both hands, he aimed it toward the darkness. The dim light was giving him barely enough light to navigate, but if anything got closer, he would be able to catch it before it caused any problems. A loud moan drove out past him, warning that there was an infected in the shadow. Backing away, he finally saw it enter the reddish glow of the room, as he aimed the SMG toward its head. With a tap of the trigger, his drilled a shot into his eye socket, dropping it to the ground. Sure, it was an automatic weapon, but bullets didnt come easy. "Any luck in finding out where the problem is? Or should we go search for the source on our own?"

"Electronics..? Can't say I am but I do love a good puzzle.." Rebecca stationed herself in front of the display and started to work, tapping buttons at a furious speed, attempting to figure this thing out. She flinched heavily when the door crashed open, but trusted him to take care of it. This puzzle was complicated and it was making her stubborn.
She flinched again when he fired shots, but it was followed by relief. Good.... he got it. She clicked a few more buttons on the control panel and everything seemed to fall into place. "Almost..." A few more button pressed and the site was located. "Got it!" She looked over at him. "You know where this is?"

Louis heard the girl finally get some decent idea of where the problem was coming from, and he ran back to see what she was looking at. From the camera, it seemed that it was in the basement area, the sub-mainframe was down. "Were going down, its gonna be dark. Mind keeping that flashlight out for us?" Louis knew she would have to of they were going to even navigate down there, it was dark enough without any real lights. However, this would mean wherever that infected came from is where they were going, it lead down to the basement. Holding his SMG tightly with on hand, Louis went for the door, stepping over the body and away from the blood that seeped across the floor. Kicking open the door fully, it smash off its hinges, giving them an idea of what it was like down there before actually hitting the stairs.
"I dont know how used to the pitch darkness you are, but stick close, and keep your eyes wide open for your surroundings." Making their way down the steps, Louis could hear the faint clanking sound two levels below them something was walking down there, and it wasnt a survivor. Based on the footsteps, it seemed to be more then one of them. One of the had to take the lead, and warn the other about how many were exactly. Louis being the one down the steps first, motioned for Rebecca to stick back while he went on downward. He saw through the narrow light, about six of them, all spread out and seemingly not noticing the two survivors' presence. Louis walked across the bottom floor, and opened up the door into a control room, then whispered to Rebecca to follow. "Hurry, theyll know were here soon."
On a side mental note, Louis wondered why the hell he was bothering with the girl. He could survive on his own just as well without her hanging around, it only messed with his morality of being a human, one old enough to know that leaving a teenage girl in the middle of all this alone would be a dumb move. It didnt make him a better person to think about just letting her be, but it wouldnt do himself any worse to let her tag along. There was something about her that put him in a different mindset, something that would make more sense as time went on. Maybe it was an old memory that he was too afraid to bring up again in his mind, maybe it was just the company that let him know there were other people alive and willing to stay that way for as long as it takes.
Once the door was closed, Louis made sure it was locked. Even better, the infected hadnt began to bang on the door, they did the move all too quietly. Checking the room over, he realized it was only a small section of the control portion of the this level. This room was sectioned off from the rest, meaning that door was the only way in. Reassuring that they were alone in here, Louis put his gun away, strapping it back inside his jacket. He looked at the black screens of the four computer terminals along the wall, seeing a facing icon bouncing around. RCNP. "Well, least we know these work. Thats a good sign that were close to the source. I really imagined a job where I rewired something, not stare at a ninety watt bulb, pecking at keys like a lab rat..."

Rebecca turned and scrunched her nose at the man. "Down? You mean like the basement?" A basement at a Nuclear Power Plant in the middle of a zombie outbreak in the dark. Wonderful. She bent down and picked up the flashlight, smacking it against her palm a few times to ensure it didn't flicker out. "If you say so St. Louis." She mumbled, and she was about to ask where exactly the basement was when she heard the door come off it's hinges. "Oh no... Seriously?" Where the zombie came from. The dark scary basement. In the middle of an outbreak. "This is starting to get mad cliche, guy."
Rebecca sighed, but followed him, keeping the flashlight steady in one hand and her handgun ready in the other. The steps creaked some under their weight, and the sound was an eerie addition to the shuffling of the undead below. She looked around, counting six. Six undead she had to walk through. A 50/50 chance of being noticed and everything going bad quickly. Taking a breath, she stepped lightly to the other side, wondering how he could stay so calm in this situation. It's not like she was panicked or anything, the walking dead was a sight she was used to, but the idea that at any second you were a hair away from death was still unnerving.
She didn't relax even a bit until she was certain that that door was locked. After he was finished she checked it once, then checked it a second time just in case. Secure.. secure enough at least. She breathed a sigh of relief and walked farther into the room, shining the flashlight around curiously. "I've always wondered exactly how these places work. I mean, I know from reading and stuff, but I've never been inside. I missed the usual grade school trip cause, y'know, zombies." Her tone had a bit too much normalcy for the topic, and it made the comment a bit uncomfortable. She turned the light to him as he put his gun away and made that comment.
"I really imagined a job where I rewired something, not stare at a ninety watt bulb, pecking at keys like a lab rat..."
Rebecca looked at him curiously. "So what did you do before all this happened, stranger?"

Louis glanced back at Rebecca as she asked the question. It was really interesting, nobody has ever asked him that question before. It was always "got some ammo?" or "why the hell are you here?", sometimes more often the latter. However, he was prepared to answer the question, it would just take some brain skill, that was such a long time ago. His life had changed in the blink of an eye, it seems. Trying not to think about it too hard, he just brought out the truth. If you couldnt trust someone with an answer when the world was on the brink of destruction, you never could again. "Well..." He got ready to talk, poking at some of the keys next to one of the mainframes.
"I worked in mechanical repair, from 1990-1998. Eight years of expirience with tools of the trade, made a good career out of it. Then, once the outbreak happened, I did what every man did. That was fight for himself, fight to survive as long as they could. Maybe it was a better idea that I didnt survive, because the mute point in history was the aftermath. For the eight years after that, my skills have quickly honed to taking out a moving target with a gun. The repair trade quickly vanished, I moved onto something im not quite proud of, but a professional gun for hire get me alive. Who, you might ask? Greedy businessmen, unjust lawyers, con artists, the whole nine yards. Especially when they were working for what was left of Umbr-"
Thats when Louis stopped, those words didnt come out of his mouth. They were irellivant, things were too messed up to even considor what they done. He knew the exact reasons for his choices, and that was locate his old pal Joey. But, anybody that knew him was familier with how well that turned out. Louis didnt want to talk about it anymore, his life meant nothing anymore, he was just a man ready to kill anybody that stood in his way. He never thought of himself as the good guy, not back then, and not now in the present. "Thats my story, and I plan on sticking with it. How about you, princess? Its not hard to tell youve learned things a teenage girl like yourself shouldnt have to learn."
