Edward, at first, ignored the girl speaking to him. She said her name was Gabriella, names were something that wouldnt help them survive in this kind of situation. However, it would be rude not to tell her his name at this point. Dropping his attention from searching around for his journal, Edward turned to the young woman and spoke directly. "Yes, my journal... Its more important... Then..." Upon seeing Gabriellas face clearly, Edwards eyes grew wide. He was embarrest by being around her, he was never that good with the opposite sex, even though she was obviously younger then he was. "...M-m-my n-names Edward... My journal, I have to find it. I know its around here somewhere."
Spinning around to continue his search, Edward tried not to think about her too much, and focused on finding the small book. Pulling out a flashlight now, he shown it around some of the broken benches and knocked over tables, anywhere it could have maybe fallen under when he was here last. He was serious about finding it. Even though it may not mean a lot to Gabriella, this was the only thing that held the knowledge of what happened over the final days of Raccoon City, before his investigation. A part of him wanted to open up to the girl, he wanted to get it off his chest. She knew as much about him as he did. "I had an... Accident, cant remember anything prior to about thirteen days before the outbreak began. In the journal, I wrote down part of my investigation, or thats what it looks like. I dont even really know who I am..."

"Well let me help you find it. Do you remember anything about yourself at all?Friends?Family?" she questioned before looking for the Journal. "So Edward, did you have a family before the outbreak?" she questioned while searching through a pile of random items.

Edward was grateful for the questions, maybe it would help him remember if he were to jog his memory. Thinking strongly about any friends that he had, just the helicopter pilot which took him over the city before the outbreak. But his name was a blank, and whether he survived or not was another story. Family, on the other hand, he knew there was nobody else left in his family. Ever since he became obsessed with his work, his family never really paid much attention to his existence. Nor did he to theirs, it was just a blank for him on any other note. They were probably all gone by now, anyways. Thinking about what Gabriella asked, he wanted to answer truthfully and for what he actually knew about himself.
"My last name is Barnaby. Apparently, I was investigating the Arklay Mountain area before the outbreak, hearing there were some rumors of reoccurring events. Turns out most of that was true, but it turned my eyes away from the real answer inside Raccoon City. I found myself near a crashed helicopter, fire was extinguished from the heavy rain, and found myself being chased by wild dogs. Which, of course from common knowledge, were infected with the virus that was spread around since 1998. Not much was known about it in the first place, but it did find its way back into Raccoon City. My only guess is that the remainder of the world suffered the same fate, am I right? Of course I am, something like this is impossible to keep under wraps. Unless of course..."
Looking at Gabriella during his conversation made him stop dead in his sentence, and mumble before looking away. Edward was rambling on and on, probably none of which was of any interest to this girl. He continued to search for his Journal, hoping that maybe she could find it. With the two of them looking, it wouldn't be that hard of a goal, and then maybe he could remember more. He liked being able to answer Gabriella's questions, it made him feel more comfortable with her tagging along. Looking back toward the girl, staring deeply into her eyes with his better judgment, Edward scratched his chin and questioned. "...How old are you? You dont look a day over nineteen, thats for sure. Your size, your... Maturity..."

Gabriella became confused why he would want to know about her age, "Well I just turned 18 last month. Why did you want to know?" she questioned

Edward saw the confused face, and he was a little embarrest by it. Maybe he was a bit out of line when he asked, it wasnt like it was any of his business. But finding a young person in the middle of the outbreak was something that he didnt find everyday. The majority of them were far to defenseless to even make it a far as she did, but Gabriella carried around that gun with courage. "Your still so young, and you know how to use that Glock 17 on your side?"
Turning around to keep looking, he kind of grinned to himself. Of course she knew how to use it, she wouldnt be alive this long if she didnt. It was 9mm, so they would be able to share ammunition if they opportunity arose. Edward hoped that it wouldnt, but that was one of the perks being in a group, teamwork. Still he hasnt put him on her trust list, but he himself had no reason not to trust her, she was only young.
"I got it!" Finally, he spotted the fine red cover under a pile of debris, booting it off as snatch the journal into his hands. Edward opened it up to the first page, and flipped through quickly to where he last read. "Here we go, the 14th of last month. And I heard as it were, the noise of thunder. One of the four beasts saying 'come and see'. And I say, behold, a white horse. And the name that set on it was 'death'. And hell followed with it." As he was reading out loud, there was a crash from one of the small panels on the entrance door. Pocketing the journal, Edward kept it tucked away securely, and pulled out his own handgun. "What do we-!... We should-!... Lets get out of here!"

"What do we-!...We should-!...Lets get out of here!"
"I agree! But to where? Thoughs things are probally all around the church!" she replied before taking out pistol and started to shoot at the zombies coming in through the doors. "Through that window!Quickly kneel downneath and I'll lift you up!" she yelled at Edward before running to the window and waiting for him. She continued to fire off her pistol at the incoming Zombies before noticing a pack of Cerebus walking in the door...

Looking at the infected start to come in through the doorway, Edward was a little shocked at the number. They were so condensed coming through the small opening, and most of the sound was drowned out by the shuffling and moaning. The dogs were starting to enter now, walking toward them both. He looked over at Gabriella, and quickly reacted. "Alright!" Edward didnt like the idea of boosting him up, but it would take even more muscle to hoist her through the window once he was above.
Quickly placing a foot in her hands, he felt the tight grip around his heel, she was ready for this. Doing a silent countdown with his momentum, at the last second, he was pushed up onto the window frame. Instantly, he dropped onto his chest, and then held his arm down, extending it as far as he could. "Grab on, ill pull you up!" Edward had confedence in his strength, but once they were up, they would have to make a plan before getting on the ground.

Gabriella looked at the door, noticing the Infected coming in. The Cerebus started to charge at the two humans for their flesh. Gabriella grabbed a hold of Edwards hand and let him pull her up. "Thanks...." she said to him. "So now what?" she questioned looking at the Cerebus Pack attempting to jump up but failing. She looked down on the other side of the window, there was no Infected near and there was a Dumpster down below. Gabriella jumped down and pulled out pistol before falling off the dumpster and onto the ground.

Edward was breathing heavily after pulled Gabriella up onto the ledge. It wasnt that she was heavy, but it was extreme physical power that drained him of some of his energy. Seeing the dogs, he could help by flinch when they attempted to score a meal, snapping their jaws ferociously. Edward looked around, hearing Gabriellas question, and saw there was a clean path to the streets. But before moving in himself, she had jumped down the steep drop, losing her balance and hit the ground. Edward new it was a big drop, but was well prepared for it.
Turning around, he placed his hands on the ledge, and then slide his feet off. Holding himself up, he swung his body against the side of the church, and then pushed off onto the ground with a roll. Quickly getting to his feet, Edward reached out and hand, assisting Gabriella. "We dont have much time before theyre onto us, we should head for the streets!" With that, Edward helped his new partner to her feet, and then the two of them ran off in the direction of the streets outside the church courtyard.

Gabriella got onto her feet with Edwards help, she then pulled out her pistol and started to run through the alley out into the street. The Street was empty, all the infected were at the front door of the Church or inside.

(Unit 09 enters the area) Unit 09 slowly walks toward the church while looking around at its surroundings. It was only few hours ago that Unit 09 had found its self laying unconscious on the ground. It wasn't sure what had happen, its umbrella commands and memory of what happen. Unit 09 only could remember how to defend its self with its basic instincts.
There where infected scattered around the building and some of them notice Unit 09. A few of them started shambling toward the B.O.W. Unit 09 turned toward the infected heading toward it. One of the zombies reached out at Unit 09 but the B.O.W. gave a swift punch to its face which went straight threw the zombies head and out the other head, splattering the others behind with blood. Unit 09 grabbed the body of the zombie it just killed and tossed it at the others.
Unit 09 looked at the roof of the church and decided to get a better look from up on top. It tore into the church wall as it climbed up the building. It finally reached the top of the roof and glanced around to see if there was anyone. It only could see infected around but noticed a few infected going down a alley as if they where chasing something, maybe survivors. Unit 09 leaped off the church landing on a few infected and headed off down the alley. (Unit 09 has left the church and is on move.)

The Union helicopters landed in the front of the Church. The soldiers rushed off of the helicopter with their gear and equipment as Tupolov and three soldiers entered into the church. The soldiers marvelled at the expansiveness of the building and the bareness of it. Tupolov held his Kalishnakov at eye level as they moved towards the back area.
"Help! Help us!" a gorup of voices screamed below them. The cries were followed by the moan of the undead. Tupolov and his men went down towards the basement to investigate.
Downstairs, Tupolov and his men found that the basement door was bombarded by a group of about nine zombies.
"Away from the door!" Tupolov shouted in English as he and his men took aim with their rifles and dropped the undead citizens. The soldiers went down the stairs and opened the door.
Inside the room there were two men, a woman, a child, and a radio array. Tupolov took his rifle and pointed it at the people.
"Upstairs, please." he said to the people in English.
"What is this?" one of the men asked. Tupolov fired his rifle into the air.
"Upstairs!" the Russian barked. Slowly, the people fearfully complied. With the civilians away from the radio, he took over the communications. The Russain tuned into the Union's frequecny and sent out a broadcast.
"Bravo to Alpha, location Omega, Five Hotels, Five Hotels. Nine Zulus down, Nine Zulus Doen." Tupolov spoke slowly into the radio, repeating the code pharses twice.
"Acknowledged." the voice of their Commander breathed. Brezhnev was indeed in the city.
"ETA?" Tupolov asked into the radio.
"Ten." ************* Brezhnev and his men moved towards the church, seeing two Union sentries moving outside the building. Brezhnev laughed inside his head at the sight of his comrades. Tupolov was a great soldier, a great leader....and within landing in the city, he had decided to take refuge with his men in a church.
The sentries snapped salutes as Brezhnev and his men entered into the church. Inside, three more Union regulars stood at various windows while Tupolov stared at a group of civilians who cowered in fear on the floor.
"Comrade." Brezhnev said to Tupolov.
"I answered your call, Comrade General.' Tupolov said softly, as he continued to stare at the family.
"Of course you did....you are a good soldier, loyal, lethal..." Brezhnev replied, as his Spetsnaz took positions around more of the windows.
'What shall be done with these?" Tupolov asked, refering to the civilians. Brezhnev moved towards the family and looked down at them.
"My friends..." Brezhnev said in english to the family cowering before him. "It is a nasty business, but I love war and all of it's aspects. I love defensive lines. I love sieges, charges, I love mop-up operations, and retreats.
"Wars across prairies, in streets, in trenches, in grasslands, in frozen tundras, through deserts, on the sea, in the air, I love every act of war that can occur upon this earth." Brezhnev took a breath as he aimed his rifle. "And you know what else I love...."
The Russian opened fire on the cowering family, emptying the entire remainder of his magazine into the corpses he created. The Union soldiers all looked at their commander as he finished killing the civilians. Brezhnev looked at his men and smiled.
"Comrades....what do we want? Do you wish for further war as I do? Do you wish for a merciless, bloody war? A war whose fury is built with iron, and lightning, and fire? Do you ask for war to sweep in like a tempest, leaving not even ravens to scavenge, from this Earth!?" Brezhnev screamed at the men. The soldiers raised their rifles above their heads and shouted in unison.
"Ours is right! Ours is right!" the men answered in the same fevor that their leader had spoke.
"Very well." Brezhnev answered, as he laughed. "Then the war against our enemies is what you shall have. We are a clenched fist, ready to strike down all who oppose us, with our might. But.. After enduring over half a century wallowing in the darkness, for us, a simple "ordinary" war will no longer be sufficient. We need a MASSIVE war! A war beyond any other that man's history has never known!
"First, we capture or kill the Umbrella criminals! We kill any Americans that get in our way. Then....with the knowlegde of the scum at our hands, we create Comrades, we create...no perfect, the science of the devils will be ours!
"We shall send the world a message my Comrades, we shall let them know that we will not be forgotten, we wil not be destoryed! Our cause is noble! The Restoration of Russia is a go!"

Allen drove down the streets in his truck. every so often he would switch gears as he increased his speed. the loud hum of his disel engine revved throughout the streets. there would be the occasional thud and blood splatter. Allen turned on the windshield wippers and had the blood cleaned of of it. Allen continued driving and soon reached the church and cut the engine. allen then grabbed his shotgun and caucked it and locked the doors. the church parking lot was deserted.

The loud sound of the backhoe Caleb had taken from the construction site could be heard a good ten seconds before the vehicle finally came in sight. Eventually he was able to maneuver it into the parking lot as well, but it was awkward. Caleb wasn't used to this type of machine, and it showed.
"That is the last time I take a job where equipment isn't given ahead of time... I had to used nearly a whole clip to get this thing out of there," he quietly complained to himself, reloading his gun with a fresh clip. As soon as he saw the other man he let out a small sigh of relief.
"Sorry I'm late, had to find a way past a horde of those things back a few blocks. Took a while to get back on track." The small smile he had on turned into a look of surprise when he noticed the truck. "Looks like you went straight through all of them."
Caleb shook his head a little. He hated drawing attention to himself in these types of situations, but what's done is done. He looked around completely this time, and did a few double takes. He was late, yet there was only one other man here. "My contact told me there were supposed to be at least five other guys here, any idea where the hell they are?"

Caleb wasn't sure how to respond to that. All those other guys were eaten? This was not a good start. And this guy... being so casual about it. "Jesus Christ... that's terri--"
The zombie caught his attention a second after Allen's, and he quickly drew his pistols. However, the zombie's head disintegrated before he could even get a shot off. That was overkill if he had ever seen it.
'I like this guy' Jacen said quietly in the back of Caleb's mind. He didn't even bother telling his other personality to shut up.
"I'm Caleb," he said eventually, and wondered if Allen heard it before he had climbed into the truck. Quickly Caleb turned back into the monstrous vehicle he had come in on himself and followed as carefully as he could. Didn't want this thing getting caught in one of the holes his ally had just warned him about.
