The wide open forest is a lush place of greenery, trees, wildlife, and undead. They wander aimlessly through here, looking for food, and often settling on any wild animal they can catch. Be careful. They aren’t the only thing around that can kill you here.

The dense jungle canopy was a sight to behold for the soldiers on board the Katsakas as they arrived within South America. Brezhnev looked down from his helicopter and marveled at the beauty of the area. The beauty died a little once the cries of the undead rose above the roar of the helicopter blades.
"Comrades," Brezhnev said over the radio as he looked down onto the scene below. "Below us lies the jungles of South America. Below us roams the infected bodies of man and beast. Be on your guard, Comrades. We are approaching the LZ.....prepare to disembark."

The silence of the forest was shattered as the helicopters flew over top the canopy. Yet, the men creeping through the foliage remained ever vigalent. About twenty men dressed in OD green BDUs spread across a distance of twenty-five yards heading in the same direction as the helicopters above. One of the men stood out from the rest however. His posture and his overall presence gave him the unmistakable look of a leader.
The man wore a black balacava underneath the worn green cap on top of his head. He let out a smile underneath his face mask as the choppers flew over head. After months of waiting help had finally arrived. Marcos Cordova had no time for a celebration however and his men knew it too. The jungle, like the sky above them, was seeing a flutter of activity. Several zombies who hadn't had the privalege of walking crawled across the jungle floor while others less decomposed ran, chasing the helicopters as they flew in too the distance.
Marcos raised his hand and pulled it down in one swift motion and in one second the jungle floor came alive with gunfire. Marcos's men, some using World War 2 weapons raided from an old depot, unleahsed a hailstorm of lead into the creatures. No zombie could out run the carnage that was being unleashed. Marcos let out another hidden smile...everything was about to change.

The helicopter's arrived at the small clearing that they had chosen as their LZ. One by one the four helicopters landed. The men pilled out, carrying crates and packs off as quickly and safely as possible. Brezhnev aided in the effort by carrying a weapon's crate marked AK74U with a fellow Union soldier. After the men had disembarked from the copters, the birds flew back to their nests.
"Comrades, spread out." Brezhnev ordered as the copters flew away. "Set up a perimeter. Our allies should be around here somewhere."
In the jungle's dense forest, Brezhnev heard the crackle of gun fire.
"Much closer than I thought..." Brezhnev remarked, as his men moved to create a safe zone for themselves. Brezhnev shouldered his AN94 and moved with three of his Spetsnaz troopers into the jungle. They hadn't moved but a few yards into the area when:
"Contact, Comrade General." one of his men said, holding up his hand stopping their movements. Brezhnev could make out two bodies moving slowly.
"Take aim." Brezhnev ordered to his men. The two Spetsnaz soldiers aimed with their weapons and fired two quick bursts from their rifles, dropping the targets.

As the sound of gunfire disipitated in their area the sound of more gunfire erupted ahead of them. They were only a few yards away from the landing zone. Marcos could make out the silouettes of helicopters and men moving around through openingings in the dense forest. Marcos waved his men forward, taking out any surviving zombies on the way towards the landing zone. Only few remained and were easily dispatched. But that would usually change during the night. Fighting in the jungle at night was something no one wanted to do. The undead had a tendancy of crawling through the underbrush and taking a bite out of your leg among other things, something that made Marcos very eager to get back before nightfall.
After about fifty more yards of walking, Marcos and his men broke through the treeline in to the large field. Needless to say he was impressed. Men worked in unision too unload the helicopters and it seemed like they were already starting to set up a tight perimeter. As they stood around in awe in the open field they were taken notice of and about four Union soldiers ran towards them their weapons at the ready.
"Wait, were here to see Brezhnev." Marcos said quickily.

As Brezhnev and his men continued to clean the area, his radio began to beep softly at his hip.
"Red Fox." he said into the radio.
"Sir, we have men here at the LZ looking for you." the operator replied.
"We do....okay, I am on my way." Brezhnev said, as he placed the radio back in it's slot.
"Comrades, continue with clearing the area....anything that doesn't speak, kill it." Brezhnev ordered, as he returned to the LZ, leaving the operation in the hands of his men.
Brezhnev reentered the camp and saw the men who the operator had reported. He stared at the men for a moment and saw that they were obviously from the native land.
"At ease, Comrades." Brezhnev said to the Union soldiers who had their weapons on the men who had entered the camp.
"Are you men the ones that sent us the message, for I am a man from the great East, seeking shelter." Brezhnev said to the men.

Marcos stepped forward from the band of guerrilla freedom fighters to stand in front of the great leader that they had been waiting for. Marcos let his Thompson hang from his neck as he used one hand to remove his cap and the other to remove his facemask. The removal of the mask showed the face of a man who had experienced horrible things on the battlefield. A large scar ran down the right side of his face starting from his hairline down to his jaw.
The mans face was of a soldier. His shaggy overgrown beard ran around with small pieces of things tangeled in his beard with could be desribed as small twigs. His blood shot green eyes were those of a man who had not slept in days and his brown greasy hair stuck to his scalp like a helmet.
"I am the one that has requested your help General," Marcos said extending his hand to Brezhnev. "I cannot express our gratitude for your arrival. My men have began to lost hope. Several have already deserted but many still have remained loyal to the cause. I'm afraid to say though that we are on our last limb. But, we can discuss more of this later at the compound. I'm afraid I have yet to introduce myself. I am Commander Marcos Cordova, commander of the People's Liberation Army."

"Commander Marcos Cordova, I am General Mikhail Brezhnev, leader of the Union of Patriotic Forces, and we bring for you reinforcements," Brezhnev said, as he looked at some of the weapons that Marcos' men were carrying, "and gifts of some of the finest weaponry that the Socialist Paradise can offer."
Brezhnev men continued to move about, creating a safe perimeter around them as the men spoke.
"You have a compound out here....good, that will be sufficient for us now." Brezhnev said as he looked over to one of the officers helping with the weapons crates. "We move out in five, Comrade. Spread the word."
"Of course, Comrade General." the officer replied.
"Lead on to this compound. We have much to discuss."

"Lead on to this compound. We have much to discuss." Brezhnev said.
Marcos slid his face mask back over his head as well as his hat and turned to look into the jungle. The Russian's men would have a hard time moving the equipment for about a mile in to the jungle until it opened up to the trails. But lucky for them Marcos had a few transport trucks waiting for them there to carry the weapons the rest of the way. Brezhnev had already taken two giant headaches off Marcos upon arriving. The much needed weapons and the even more needed reinforcements were what Marcos's men needed the most.
"Your men will have about a half mile of hard walking into the jungle until they reach our transport trucks which will take us the rest of the way into town," Marcos said starting to walk towards the edge of the jungle. "Tell your men to be weary of the jungle floor. I've lost many men to hidden demons. Come friend, the trucks are a mile in to the jungle. Let us get moving."

Brezhnev nodded as he turned his attention back to his men.
"Comrades, we are moving out. Every stay together!" he ordered. "Step where the men ahead of you step. Those of you not carrying weapons cases, be vigilant! The jungle has hidden enemies and dangers."
With that said, Brezhnev signaled for his men to move out. The soldiers carrying the weapons cases were escorted by those not. Brezhnev could see the uneasiness in their eyes, being in a strange, new place. The closest these men had come to land like this was Africa, and then they fought mainly in the Savannah.
"Contact!" A Spetsnaz trooper shouted, as he brought up his rifle. A rustling in the canopy casused the men in Brezhnev's troop to stop, drop the cases and raise their weapons for...three monkeys.
"Monkeys.." Brezhnev growled, as he shot one of the monkeys in the head, causing the other two to rush back into the jungle.
"Keep sharp." Brezhnev growled, as they continued on.

Marcos stepped over a downed log and walked at a steady pace through the jungle. He could make out the trucks through the thick foliage about seventy yards away. Several men stood guard around them, prepared for any undead that may attack the transports. Marcos pulled his radio from his belt and put it up to his face.
"Enrique, send any men you can spare into the jungle to help carry the supplies, it'll be getting dark soon." There was a brief pause before a 'yes' came from the radio and about ten men could be seen marching through the jungle to aid the men's progress.
"The jungle is a dangerous place in the night," Marcos said to Brezhnev as he turned to the falling sun. "We learned that the hard way a couple of months ago. But it's not just the undead that seem to multiply in numbers in the night. The last attachment we sent out into the jungle at night a few months ago sent back word of some strange creatures with long tongues leaping through the trees, stalking them."
Marcos remembered the grizzly screams of his men during the last few seconds of their lives. The feeling of helplessness was unbearable. All he could do was listen to the radio until it was silent.
"It's best we get back as soon as possible friend." Marcos said as they neared the trucks.

"Of course." Brezhnev replied, as the South American's men helped with the weapons cases. Brezhnev's men quickened their pace as the sun's golden rays began to fade over the horizon. Around them the sounds of the jungle began to die down. Brezhnev began to feel the uneasiness that his men had undoubtedly felt when they landed.
As the group continued towards the trucks, a long and loud roar resounded throughout the jungle. The Russians stopped in their tracks at the resounding cry, looking around themselves for it's source.
"Steady men!" Brezhnev snarled, as he held his rifle firmly in his hands. "Get to the trucks as quickly as you can!"
The Russians continued on their path towards the trucks. Brezhnev quickened his own pace. He did npt want to meet what had caused that soul rattling call.

Marcos stopped in his tracks when he heard the roar echoeing through the jungle. The same that came out of one of his soldiers months before right before they met their demise. Marcos waved Brezhnev towards the vehicle parked in front of all the flatbed and transportation trucks, a old rusted truck complete with a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on the back. One man stood on the back mounting the machine gun while two sat up front leaving two vacant seats in the back.
"Come friend," Marcos said to Brezhnev as another roar echoed through the jungle. "Let us get out of here before those demon bastards reach us." Marcos said climbing into the back of the jeep. Around them, the men began pulling the last of the crates onto the flatbed trucks and began to get on the trucks to escape the jungle. Just as the trucks began to start up and move down the road, the tops of the trees began shaking in the distance before stopping and the tree next to it started shaking. This pattern continued in their direction until Marcos saw it in the corner of his eye and grabbed his radio.
"Watch the trees!!" he yelled into his radio to his men. "There attacking from above!"

Brezhnev aimed his rifle to the trees,, as did the Spetsnaz in the truck with him. They kept their weapons trained on the tree line as the trucks moved down the pathway. As Brezhnev aimed his rifle, he could hear in his mind the voice of a dead soldier.
Side by side, you and I knew no fear. In the air or on land, we were great warriors. Now look at you, you and your men fearful....they said you were the bravest men ever when you liberated the Ukraine.....you are quite laughable now....Comrade.
Brezhnev growled in his throat as he continued to watch for the creatures, no, Demons in the treeline. He then saw the quick jumping figure in the trees. It moved faster than he could see or it could have been the fact that the trees were obstucting his view, distracting his view.
"Short, controlled bursts!" Brezhnev ordered his men. The soldiers complied and began to fire at the creature.
