Crack!
Quicksilver released the dog’s neck and let the body crumble to the ground, having caught it in midair as it jumped at him and tried to take a chunk out of him. He showed it what a mistake that had been with an inhuman finesse that he portrayed with a frightening amount of ease.
He took a look around and confirmed what his ears had already told him, that the dogs who had stayed behind from the rest of the pack to make him a snack were all dead. Funny how they had tried to eat him. He wondered if he seemed more human than monster, or if they were hungry enough to eat anything at this point. He reasoned that he wasn’t rotting to the bone, so he must have been more appetizing than a zombie, but not quite as good as a human. Which is why most of them passed him up.
He could hear the sounds of a fight up ahead, the flapping of wings. Birds… His distant cousins, by genetic tampering. He hated the little f**kers, but at least it didn’t take much to kill them.
He followed the sounds of the fighting, staying invisible and keeping an eye out for the people who he had spied earlier. They were fighting off the birds, as he saw. He got there just in time to watch an explosion clear out a lot of them. It seemed to scare off the rest. Now… Where were the dogs? Stalking the prey, it seemed. They had gone quiet, he couldn’t hear them anymore.
Scratch that.
They poured out of alleys and side streets, ambushing the two people who would make a nice meal. Before one of them could reach the people, he uncloaked himself and jumped through the air, landing on one and feeling bones crack under his weight. Digging his knife into its skull, he yanked it out and watched blood pour from the wound. Well, time to see how they reacted to their guardian angel…

"I warned you about overkill, lass," Eric said, moving from under the car. He'd pushed himself over onto his belly before hoisting himself up and onto his feet. From there, it was only a small moment of peace when dogs had come running from the dark alleys. Eric swore before jumping atop the hood of the same car and crawling up to the roof of it.
"F*ckin eh!" he shouted when out came a massive...thing. Whatever it was, it completely smashed one of the dogs and ripped through another's skull in a matter of seconds. It was unbelievable, was it actually protecting them or did it just want to claim it's meal for it's own?
Either way, it was killing the mongrels and one of them was bouncing on it's back legs, barking and scartching at the side of the car. He adjusted his aim and shot off a round at it's muzzle.
It's head jerked back as it whined and went limp on the street. "Right in the mug!" he barked before shooting strays off at three running dogs. Only one of them got nailed twice in the side, but the bastards were determined.

Lilith was still and pain but knew she had to get out of that open space. She pulled her body off the ground and fell onto her hands and knee's. One of her hands placed on her side as she winced in pain. Lilith had one of her eyes closed as a reaction and attempted to stand up again. The sound of tapping against the ground could be heard a few feet from her. Lilith turned her head almost immediately and was taken by surprise. " A dog! " She fell back as a nervous reaction and landed on her bottom. Her eyes opened wide and she could feel her heart about to burst. Was this her time to die?
Liliths fear was interrupted as a man jumped out from who knows where and stabbed it in the head, brutally mutilating it. She held her eyes tight and turned her body in Erics direction. Her only thought was to get to higher ground and away from anymore possible dangers. Lilith turned her head around for a moment to get a better look at the creature. He looked man like but he wasn't. What was he? She shook her head from side to side and started crawling towards Eric yet again. Her only thought now was survival.
Lilith inched closer to Eric and looked up to see him on a car. She frustratingly tried to stand and limp over to his way again. Her ankle was still strained and slowed her down quite a bit. Lilith turned her head forward as the sudden sound of tapping could be heard again. " Oh please no! " She was given the surprise of a lifetime. Her heart pumped increasingly again as she met face to face with another zombie dog.
The zombie dog instantly lunged for Lilith's face and neck with his ferocious jaws. She fell on the ground, with her back against the cobblestone and the canine deformity in between her legs. Her reflex's were quick as she held up her bow just in time and caught its razor edges in its mouth. " Eric some help please! " Lilith screamed this at the top of her lungs as the creature continued to bite and attempt to chew through her razor edge frame. She kept the diseased mutt in place but the falling droplets of coagulated zombie dog blood splattering on her chest and neck, was making it a little hard to keep him at bay for much long. Her grip was starting to slip and she would be devoured any minute.

(He’s actually only five feet tall, a hundred pounds. For the record.)
Quicksilver stood his ground, knees bent and ready to move in any direction as the situation called. The pack mentality of the dogs shone through as they split up to conquer the obstacles around them. Mainly, the man on top of the car and himself. The woman was no longer a problem to them, one of them would be feasting on her shortly. So they thought.
One jumped at Quicksilver, it’s jaws aiming for his neck. He ducked down and leaned to the side, letting it miss him by a few inches before he grabbed it by the sides of its head and jerked. It’s body weight kept going, it’s neck immobilized. A sharp snap sounded as it broke it’s own neck.
He eyed the woman in her losing battle against the dog, bringing his arm back and waiting for a second. In his eyes, time seemed to slow down. It didn’t slow, but his perception of it sped up. He could see and react in an instant, an inhuman instant. Adjusting his elbow just an inch, he jerked his arm in an arc and let go of the Kunai in his hand at the apex, watching the knife sail through the air in slow motion and bury itself into the dog’s cranium. It went limp and fell onto the woman, but he had other things to worry about. Mainly…
He shot his leg out behind him and caught a dog in the chest, throwing it off balance and making it land in a heap on the ground. He reached to his right side, withdrawing the machete from the upside down sheath on his back and sunk it into the body of the canine, slashing against the ground with a few sparks and disemboweling it. It still tried to get up, slipping on its own blood and entrails, ended when Quicksilver jabbed the long blade into the side of its face. He took a look around. Again, all seemed clear… But they had fooled him once.

Eric had stood atop the car and took a gander at the dog and crow corpses scattered along the street with the undead ones. Just his luck, he was stuck with a pyscho sleeper and a mutant, something or other... He'd cleared his throat and walked down the steep windowshield onto the hood. Stopping there, he sighed and grasped Lilith's arm before jumping down onto the street to help her stand straight.
"Calm down, you're not gonna die from injury to the leg, kid," he told her before locking eyes with whatever the hell that thing was before him. It surely wasn't human, but then, it did help them to not die...
"Can you speak, English, boyo? Better yet, do you speak, human?" he asked, gesturing toward it.

Quicksilver was satisfied that the monsters around were all dead, the ones still alive either waiting an extended amount of time to attack or high tailing it away from the meal that proved to be too much for them. That or they had put all their eggs in one basket and all died.
Putting the thought out of his head, he looked back to the corpse on the ground and yanked his machete out of its cranium. Flipping it in his hand and whipping the excess blood in a line a few feet long, he slipped it back into the sheath on the right of his back and looked toward the pair. The dog was a bit away from them, he didn’t think they would panic when he walked over to it. Testing the theory and moving to the dog, he reached down and slid his Kunai from the dog’s forehead, wiping it off on a patch of clean fur and sliding it into the sheath on his back next to its two copies.
He looked at the man when he asked him a question, asked him if he spoke English. Or human, for that matter. Quicksilver’s tail whipped from side to side as it seemed to do of its own free will, reaching to his pocket when he realized he didn’t have his pad of paper anymore. Or the speak and spell thing they’d had him uses all those years ago. He loved that thing…
He shook his head in a no to the question, holding out his left hand flat and pretending to write on it with his right hand. Asking if they had something to write with.

The mutated mutt had just about pushed back when WHOOSH!! A knife came soaring through the air and hit it directly in the head. The beast had already been profusely bleeding all over her but now its rotting, decayed corpse fell on top of her. It's head landing on her corset chest opening.
Liliths eyes opened wide and pushed the beasts lifeless body off of her and tossed it to the side of her. Her body heaved over and she gagged from the smell that covered her. The feeling of the sticky and gooey coagulated liquid made her want to vomit. She stood up shakily and placed her special bow on her back, then proceeded to pick out pieces of the derranged hell dogs rotting flesh from her cleavage. " f**k! Hell!! EWWWW!!! " Were her only words.
The Older man paid her no mind and spoke with another monsterish creature. She lifted her eyes and placed them on the creature. He did save her and she was grateful for that. Also, he momentarily distracted her from the uncomfortable situation she was just placed in. Her eyes opened wide as she peered down to her side and saw it slightly scraped. Did the mongrels blood seep into it?? Lilith mentally cursed her luck. With her chances it would get her infected.
Her mind went back to the current situation and she walked over to the side of the road. There was an uncountable number of objects just laying around. Tattered cloth, cardboard, and fragments of metal. She searched around the wreckage and picked up a large piece of tattered cloth. Lilith whimpered at the sight in front of her. Her clothing was ruined and she desperately needed a shower. She shrugged this off for the moment and wiped her hands clean, making obscene remarks and curse words under her breath as she scrubbed her hands and corset clean.
Liliths eyes opened wide as she turned around and got a better look at the beast that saved her. Just as hideous as that mongrel zombie dog. She commented in her mind a little estranged from the unsightly beast in front of her. He was holding out his hand and seemed to be pointing his finger in the palm. " Does he need to write?? Hmm; Well, it's the least I can do. " She turned around sluggishly and pulled out a good sized piece of cardboard from the wreckage and then turned around.
" Lilith you are gonna hate yourself but ok. " She sighed an annoyed sigh and limped over to him, her leg was sore but the pain on her side and her line of sight being the beast in front of her, made it a lot easier to bare. She lifted the cardboard in front of her with both hands extended. " Is this what you need?? " Lilith sounded almost shy as a blush overtook her face and she lowered her eyes to the ground. She couldn't bare to look it in the face.

She tried to be quiet, but Quicksilver could hear every single thing she muttered. He could also almost read her mind through her body language and the way she tried to avert her gaze. He couldn’t blame her, he wasn’t exactly kissable. He himself tried to avoid looking at himself whenever he came across his reflection. He thought of himself as human in most ways, but he just… Wasn’t.
He took the cardboard from her and looked around for something to write with. Finding nothing, he ran the skin of his thumb over the claw on his index finger and started to scratch on the cardboard. When he was done, he handed it back. The letters showing up quite clearly as indents in the sheet.
“My name is Qui Johnny.” It said. He didn’t give a s*** that they were probably going to come back with ‘but that’s a people name’ or something similar. He’d have to find another piece of cardboard and remind them that he just pulled them out of some hot water. But that could wait. He could hear the moans of zombies in the distance. He didn’t know if they could, but his ears were ten times as keen as theirs. Simply jerking a thumb down the block, he turned and motioned for them to follow him. There was a break in the power grid. And while this block was powered down, the next one had power and water. He had a feeling it would soften her demeanor.
