Goddamn, he could use a cigarette. Not only had they been sent in here without the proper gear and were catching flak from some a**hole they'd never even met and who damn sure wasnt a superior officer. Now, it was sounding more and more like there was some f**king conspiracy theor going on that involved not only a general or something from England, but their very own Ron Friday, the a**hole.
All in all, it was a s***ty day.
But, Sasquatch carried on without a complaint and without giving any lip. It was what a good soldier did. They dealt with the political bullcrap. They perserveered through. They followed orders. And at this moment, those orders were to move along, now under the command of Jackson. Wasnt sure why he was here. He was a SAW operator, and he didnt have any way to put up a surrpressor. He was probably here for a s*** hit the fan kind of moment. God knew they hadnt had one of those in a while. They were due, and this had the makings of one.
Thankfully, Watson had been pulled from Middletons command and was here as well. He didnt see a familier face in this group. About the only one was Jackson, and that had only been in passing around the base, having to stop and salute and all that crap. It was good to be with a buddy. At least he KNEW one person around would be watching his back.
What exactly were they doing anyway? He was feeling like a mushroom right about now. Kept in the dark and fed s***. Something about helping the SAS dude do his thing with the launch codes and assessing the area. Eh. It was for officers to know and soldiers to find out when it was probably too late.
