Nova looked at July for a moment and thought about what she had said. "That's fine," she said lightly as she looked around the street since they were standing still. It seemed clear for the time being, but something seemed of. There was a different scent in the air, and not the one that come from when July changed out of the blood covered clothes. "We can find a quite place to sit down and study those papers. I'll try to help you any way I can as long as you let me." She turned to follow July up the street, but paused when she heard something hit metal. Turning to look up the street she couldn't see anything, but as she allowed her eyes to adjust a bit more she could see further a lot better. An there the source of the noise, and the different scent. He didn't smell like the humans she had been around or the beast that she had dealt with. Everyone had a unique scent to her, but in a way every scent was the same. Except this one was different, confusing. She didn't like it. Nova tugged on her hood abscently before turning away from the man. It took her eyes a second to adjust to just the basic surroundings.
"I think we should get on out of here why we can," she pointed out as she shifted on her feet. She rubbed her nose out of irritation before following July up the street. She could only hope that where ever they went she could take her hood off. It was starting to irritate her ears and they were actually starting to hurt. She couldn't remember the last time she had something covering her ears this long.

July was reluctant as she thought about the offer Nova gave her. Nova didn't know her and Nova, like everyone else five years old and over, actually knew how to read. It was a gamble, but it was better than nothing. As far as she was concerned, the information might have nothing more than the name, age, crimes, and where he was currently or even what happened to him. She sort of wished he was dead. He was the type of guy who was all muscle. A few times, when he got exceedingly drunk, he actually knocked her down a few times and had to be tied down until he sobered up. It wasn't a memory she was happy to have. "Fine. But you better not tell anyone what you read." she said as threateningly as she could.
She then heard the sound of something being echoed from a little bit away from her. The sound was familiar to her: it was the sound of something heavy being thrown inside a dumpster. She wasn't exactly sure what was being thrown inside, but it must have weighed more than a bag full of stolen goods. The latter was something she knew the sound of. She stopped and listened for where the sound was coming from. Whoever did it was not one of the infected monsters. Of the many she came across, they would just walk on when they were finished eating what they had caught.
July then turned her head and saw another person coming towards the duo. At first, she ignored him and continued walking. However, when he got closer to them and seemingly showed no intention of leaving them alone, she again stopped. He kept coming towards them even when she stopped. July then grabbed hold of a piece of Nova's clothes to get her to stop as the bigger of the two continued walking. July turned to the man and asked in defense, but not aiming her gun at him, "Who are you?"

And the meek have inherited the Earth. Jonathan stopped a number of feet away from the two, looking them both over for a moment without the slightest expression on his face. The one who'd asked who he was made him glance over at her directly, his gaze falling on her and narrowing a bit. She was a child who had the misfortune of growing up in the world he and his colleagues created; perhaps she wasn't as weak as he had suspected, though it was obvious she wasn't too intelligent to turn and speak to strange people she didn't know or perhaps this was simply lack of experience bleeding through. As for the other one with her, she bothered him. Something about her rubbed him the wrong way, though he refused to allow such thoughts or feelings show.
"No one important. Will. Will Clay. I'm just passing through," he stated calmly, finally looking back at the younger of the two wanting to inwardly laugh at how untrue either of those statements actually were, but two strangers who he'd never met before didn't really need to know who he was or what he was there for unless they were going the same direction, in which case, he would be happy to change his views. "There aren't many of the living still in these ruins, let alone children walking openly in the dark streets. Your friend here must be rather skilled?"
Jonathan's piercing eyes then rested on the seemingly older and definitely taller of the two.

Nove turned around when July started pulling on her coat. She looked back as the man approched them. Absently she reached up and tugged on her hood to make sure it was covering her ears. The closer he was the better she could understand his scent. As he spoke to July something else was off. A very subtile tone that a voice gave off even to the most expirenced of lyers. A tone so low she found that only her ears could pick them up. The closer she was to this man the more she didn't care for him. She placed her hand on July's shoulder and carefully pulled her back. Nova took a slight step forward so she was standing in front of July. "I would say she's quite capable of taking care of herself in this city. She's been doing quite well when we met." She looked back a July for a moment before looking at the man that approched them. "Well I hate to say it seems that we maybe heading . . . " She paused as she smelt something she didn't want to have to deal with anytime soon. "We're at least heading in the same direction on this street," she finished as she glanced up in the direction they were going. The scent was slowly groing strong, meaning it was heading in their direction. The one thing that she really hated was the stench of a Bow it for some reason smelt even worse than the undead. She looked back at the man again. "I think it's about time we head out." She looked back at July. "I have a feeling that something unwanted is heading our way. You know this place beter than I do. So any other path to take than straight."

"Children?" July questioned. It was true, she was technically a child and looked younger than she truly was, but the name was weird and...strangely offensive. She hadn't been called that ever. Most of the names anyone called her started with "Little" and ended with a rather nasty word. "I can take care of myself. I'm not as little as I look." she said in a bratty little voice she sometimes used to make herself sound either more annoying or more grown up. Nova somewhat confirmed what she was saying.
"I think it's about time we head out. I have a feeling that something unwanted is heading our way. You know this place better than I do. So any other path to take than straight." July thought about it. Sure she came here multiple times, but she didn't know this place too well. She'd never come alone. She always had to have somebody help her understand what was around and what she needed to do.
"Damn things are always coming towards us. If it ain't people or dogs, it's one of them licker monsters or something else that wants to kill us." July replied. There wasn't too much around that she had actually taken note of or wandered into to do some work and since she couldn't go straight, the areas were even more limited. "Ummm..." she thought for a second, trying to remember where to go next, "There's a doctor-place and a new part of town that way, and a place for animals that way." July pointed left towards the hospital, or doctor-place, and the East Side. She pointed right towards the zoo. Secretly, she was hoping to avoid the zoo completely. She saw enough animals to make her realize that even if she ended up breaking away from the gang, she never wanted to even consider having a guard dog like the boss had. The hospital was something she wanted to head towards. There were parts that could be safe enough. Unfortunately, there were probably more monsters there. Jana always told her that when people got hurt, they went to the doctor. Around here, if someone got hurt, they would surround the hospital. She didn't know the East Side well. The more experienced members went there. For all she knew, it could be safer.
"You pick." she ordered Nova to pick the direction. She didn't much care for where the new guy was going.

"I'm sure she can." His words were full of sarcasm and disdain feeling that words were hollow and actions were all that mattered. Until he saw how well the girl took care of herself, he'd not believe she could and that was that. Rather than focus on his lack of faith in the two before him, he turned his ears to her words when she spoke and turned around looking down the street. She was right, something was coming, but he couldn't completely make it out. Still, it was in the distance and moving at a steady pace, likely for them; normally, Jonathan would see this as a personal challenge, but felt no need in giving himself away just yet. Not when he had new puppets to use in order to get what he required for his encampment. "Yes. Probably best to not stay in the open." He turned to the older of the two and nodded, "Of course. This city is laid out on a simple grid. Each street intersects and alleyways all lead to other streets. Granted some of these are blocked off with rubble, the dead, or cars as well as barricades set up by the RCPD when the outbreak occurred - we may still be able to squeeze through."
The man's gaze then turned to July as she questioned his term of her and nodded. "Yes... a child, indeed," Jonathan mused at hearing her overconfidence in herself and feeling compelled to defend not being as little as she appeared which had been common in kids to do. She wasn't a kid, per say, but was young enough to be considered less than a mature, logically-minded adult; in fact, there were few of them left in the world anymore as well, so Jonathan felt she was screwed either way. If the dead didn't get her, her own ignorance in wanting to be more than she was ready for would do it for her. If he had taken upon himself to shoot her in the face right then and there, he could sleep soundly at night knowing that it came from mercy. The thought alone made him stifle a chuckle and shake his head.
"That's their purpose, isn't it," he questioned though knew the answer, "they hunt you. Bio-Organic Weapons, after all, is a title they've earned for their ruthless nature. Be happy you haven't had to deal with the real nasty weapons." He nodded with a soft smile then shrugged, "Whatever the two of you decide is where we will go. I'll keep my suggestions to myself since it's obvious you have your own plans. I will say that the zoo would be more open and easier to defend yourself as opposed to the hospital that has been cluttered for decades, weak from the weather and lack of maintenance and has many tight spaces with no light." He tilted his head to the side then glanced at Nova, "But she wishes for you to decide - so by all means. The longer we stand and think over it, the more likely we won't live to see the next hour. And whether you like it or not, I am going to accompany you. Three is better than two, after all and wherever you choose to go, you will need the extra help."

Nova glared at the man before turning to look up the street. He wasn’t one to speak about the other creatures that lurked within the shadows of this city. He wasn’t human either, but she really couldn’t tell what he was and that was bothering her. Then the idea was herself. Could he be like her? She had remembered fighting her former mentor’s creation, but at the time her sense of smell hadn’t developed so she didn’t know what he smelled like. She sighed a bit as she looked down at July. Granted this guy was right about the zoo being easier to deal with these creatures, but the small hint in July’s voice when she mentioned the zoo meant that she wasn’t fond of it. She wasn’t going to put July in a place she wasn’t comfortable with unless she really had to, and at the moment she didn’t. Even though the hospital was falling apart like everything else and had to many tight spaces it also provided a lot of hiding places if the time came.
“To the hospital,” she finally said as she waved July down the path that she had picked out. She turned back to the man as he followed them down the path. She would have to keep a close eye on him, and when July wasn’t around she would find out the truth from him.
(JULY, NOVA, AND JONATHAN MOVED TO THE HOSPITAL LOBBY)
