Aya had planned to ask why Tyson hadn't returned to his family; it seemed like a trivial thing; after he explained it the prospect made more sense. At least he was at peace with everything that happened in his life; he would have been a man with a lot of grudges and stress otherwise. Seeing tragedy be forgiven so lightly, no envy of others who had it better growing up, growing old; Aya had to hand it to him. Sticking it to the maker.
One final staple onto the canals leading to the auditory nerve and the last implant was in place, "Should be able to hear a tree fall in a forest now," quickly musing on the quality of her work while releasing clamps and beginning to stitch the ear back in place, "I'm just going to finish here and patch the incisions back together before exchanging Matt's optics. You can go ahead and clean up now Ty. Thanks for all the help, and the conversation," giving the big guy a traditional nod in appraisal.
The knee caps had set in well, silver plates surrounded by pounds of flesh. Aya didn't know how long Matthew would need to be off his legs; if regeneration capabilities were anything to go by estimations over a day would be a false bet, she guessed hours. In the end it was all relative. She also wouldn't know whether they worked properly until Matthew woke and gave them a test run. Better to stay optimistic about it.
Wrapping his knees and palms in gauze to catch any fluids and stave off bacteria; it mostly helped to hide the gnarly stitched up skin. Matt started to look a little like Frankenstein's monster with his mouth scars and all. Aya cycled gloves again opening the case of optics Matthew had fabricated, "They're made to the specifications in the data," taking his word for it, "This is the part that usually creeps me out."
Pinning one eye open, Aya leaned back slightly. The pupils had dilated into slits again. How long they had been that way was uncertain; maybe they were always like that while he was unconscious. Aya pulled out a tool which looked somewhat like a screwdriver; anyone who didn't know better would have overreacted at how she applied it. The main difference was this tool had a disc at the end curved outwards; closing it over the contact gave suction to remove the implant. An electromagnetic discharge decommissioned the implant so that no malfunction during removal screwed with the persons vision. There would be a slightly numb feeling around the users nose had they been awake at the time; it paid better than being completely blind.
The new implants looked like typical contacts, easy to go under the radar. At a microscopic level on the inside of the cap stood thousands of tiny rods prepared to pin into the cornea of the eye cooperating with the rest of the natural rods and cones that existed on the eye ball itself. Operating with the other rods and sending information between them created a more clear picture for the user, as if filling in the gaps to help all the other slowpokes pick up the pace. Once locked in position Aya squeezed drops of water over the iris to help the implant settle and moisten the socket. A precarious operation; one the girl was happy she didn't have to be deadly accurate with.
Once the cornea implants were complete a red and white image flickered on the displays; the Umbrella logo faded in and out. Lines of code popped up over the cone resembling something akin to Dos, flickering the logo one last time once it was finished. The best theory Aya had was that it signaled a perfect installation, removing the pins under Matthew's eyelids and closing them. She stepped back to the bench behind her, resting against it and removing her mask.
The mad scientist rubbed her eyes, powder from after taking off her gloves felt coarse against her skin. Washing her hands before packing up the equipment on the surgery table and placing all tools used into a sterilization box.
"That's it," Aya announced, switching off the light hanging over Matt, "Probably don't need that level of brightness shining in your eyes when you wake up," Crossing the trailer over to Tyson, "Just keep an eye on him. He'll probably be feeling a little logy when he wakes, can't have him falling on those fresh augmentations," she yawned while stretching her arms forwards, "Might take a little cat nap myself, didn't really sleep last night," scratching the back of her head, realizing she hadn't really slept the last couple of nights, 'Way to go on the OH&S front before a surgery, girl,' scolding herself, "Sun's setting out there so we might as well stick here for the night. Wouldn't count on him rousing before light's out."
Packed down the back of the trailer were a couple of gray folded chairs, probably looking like they got the short end of the budget; they were far more comfortable than the work stools under the benches though. Aya removed the tie from her hair, shaking it loose and slipping the band in her pocket. Felt like a fairly honest days work.

"FFFUUUUUU-!!!"
Matthew screeched back into consciousness, every nerve synapse in his body firing like pistons. He immediately sat up, dropping his arms to his sides and attempting to open his eyes. Tears welled up as the dry air wafted it's way into his iris and he quickly shut them, squeezing out a bit of saline. With closed eyes, he could read diagnostic text as it scrolled past his vision, giving him a vague sense of relief for an odd reason he couldn't explain. After a few seconds, he opened his eyes again as the text disappeared. Everything was a mass of gray blobs and colorful splotches- he couldn't see. At least, not yet.
He muttered a vulgar curse under his breath as he tried to move his arms to his lap and failed miserably- he just didn't have the strength. Oddly enough, he wasn't swollen in the slightest- the muscles had already fused back over the night but the pain and dark bruises still remained. With a sigh, he dropped back onto the bed to lie down. Memories of when he was captive fluttered back into his thoughts, echoing like maniacal laughter- this felt all so familiar. He knew Aya was nearby, but he wasn't sure whether she was still needed to do an operation or not.
"A...Ay...Aya. Am.. Is..This it?"
His voice was barely a whisper, but the loud half-curse from when he awoke would have been loud enough to rouse a sleeping elephant. Although there was much pain, he felt as if he was nearly born again. Everything felt new- his knees, his knuckles.. Everything. Things that weren't needing to be ran through a diagnostic filter worked perfectly- including the inner ear implants, which worked like a charm. Even Tyson's incessant grinding of his teeth in his sleep sounded like they were amplified at a rock concert. He was glad to be up to par once more.

"Just keep an eye on him. He'll probably be feeling a little logy when he wakes, can't have him falling on those fresh augmentations.” Aya said. Tyson flashed a mock salute at her as she grabbed a few chairs and used them to stretch out and get comfortable. He removed the gloves and mask, threw them in a bin for medical waste, and took a seat on one of the stools at the workbench. He spent the next while trying to find something to do when he got tired of sitting there staring at the wall.
He’d never fallen asleep, as per Aya’s suggestion. He’d done this or that while he waited for Matt to wake up. Or maybe Aya. He didn’t know who would wake up first. First he’d played solitaire with a deck of cards he found in a desk under some papers. After a few games he got tired of it so he started throwing them across the room into an empty waste paper basket.
Just as he was thinking of going outside to get something from the truck, he heard a stirring on the table. And then a loud as f**k exclamation. He watched Matt in silence for a moment, not sure if he was going to get up and freak out. He could imagine someone who’d been as experimented on as him reliving the memories. For that first few moments, Tyson let his hand drift down to the Glock at his side. And then Matt spoke.
Letting go of the weapon and standing up with some help from the stool, he walked to the edge of the table slowly.
“She’s sleeping.” Tyson said softly. “Just uh… Calm down, take some breaths. Don’t move too much, she said you’d probably be woozy.” He said.

Pink petals carried along the wind from the peach tree orchid, floating over a bright green field of buffalo grass. Surrounding the landscape in the distance stood a wall of mountains, their peaks shrouded in mist; a humid yet cool breeze evened out the heat of the sun's single burning harbinger illuminating the field the bronze haired girl stood in. Looking down at her hands; Aya knew it was a dream yet no concern automatically registered to it. At the nearest end of the field was a house, its old Japanese architecture letting it settle well with its natural surroundings. One of the thin wood sliding doors were open, a person standing inside its maw. Even from the distance Aya could clearly see that it was Matthew. He stood in a room full of documents and paper, overlapping pages pinned to the walls and piles of books stacked on top of each other. The man himself looked different; clean cut. The scars that adorned the corners of his mouth were missing in action and he wore a pair of horn rimmed glassed, deeply involved with the book in his hand as he rubbed his chin in thought.
The dream dictated that Aya look up at the mist surrounding the mountain tops again. Tranquil silence was broken as the wail of plane engines could be heard, an old sea plane parting the mist on its descent from the sky. The entire forward section was engulfed in an inferno, the orange stream of fire cascading back over the body of the plane. Aya stood in the field unable to interject the happening, forced to watch the aircraft plummeting towards the farm house.
Snorting awake and wiping one thumb under her nose, Aya checked her surroundings feeling turned around and confused. It took a moment to remember where she was again, rubbing her head. The girl made an out of tone sound of melancholy as she lifted her feet from the chair in front of her to sit up, her eyes still burned with fatigue. The punishment of waking up miserable no doubt weighed from holding back winks the past couple of days. Aya looked up once all her senses returned to her.
Matthew was conscious again, Tyson stood with him. Smiling at that while rubbing her eyes, 'Can count on the big guy even when I put him in the most boring circumstances,' yawning, stretching and standing up all at the same time returned vigor to the ivory girl; swiping her finger across the touch pad of the notebook to her right. 7:12am. She gave Tyson a gentle pat on the shoulder after approaching the operating bench, "Looks like we all made it through the night unscathed," she jested, although predicting Tyson probably felt like the only victim through the whole predicament, "Check up from the doctor," was the only warning Aya gave before holding open Matthew's eye lids and shining a pen light over his eye.
"Dilation's fine, no anomalies in the contacts fusion. Looks like the display is still going through its initial calibration judging by the mismatched colours but asides from that the cornea implants have synced up well," which was good, because it was the only thing Aya was most worried about in the whole operation, "If either of the ear implants weren't working you'd hear a ringing sound, which it seems you aren't so that's fine," the girl picked up Matt's right hand, "Tell me if you feel any pain," she said while rotating each finger at its knuckle joint. If all was fine he wouldn't feel a thing other than the freedom of movement.
Aya moved onto his other hand, and then tested both of Matthew's knees. Once her test checks were complete it was conclusive that the operation had been flawless, "You're in perfect condition, Matt," she reassured him. It seemed only fair to give the guy silky news after the stress he held going into, and waking up with, the operation.
Turning to Tyson beside her, "Hey. Thanks for watching over him," grateful that she could grab some rest without any offside burden, nodding in approval.

He smiled a bit and moved his right arm up to rub the back of his head whenever she mentioned he was in perfect condition. Didn't feel like it. Felt like hell. In any event, he wasn't going to show it. He scooted a bit towards the edge of the bed and swung his legs back and forth for a few moments, feeling the freedom of movement that the old implants didn't give him. He felt.. New. He glanced over at Aya, locking his eyes with hers as the yellow slit flattened back into a circular black orb and reverted to his jade green iris.
"You know.. You've probably shown me more kindness than anyone else in the past few years. "
He slid off the bed, landing hard on the balls of his feet with a small grunt. He gritted his teeth as he walked a few steps forward and meeting a small metal table that was slid in front of his path. He leaned on it a bit, looking over his shoulder at Tyson. He stuck his right thumb over his shoulder at Aya, speaking.
"So, did she leave a bolt in there or something?"
He chuckled to himself, full well expecting a smack on the back of the head or a scolding. He moved a few more inches towards the door, leaning on the metal desk. His clothing was in a small pile near the exit and the splotches of color seemed to fade away and sharpen into cohesive images that played on his mind. Not having perfect vision made him cherish having it in the past, and now that he did, it was nearly unbelievable that he missed so much of his previous, new self. His right hand wandered to the clothes pile and grabbed the gray t-shirt that he was wearing. He unfolded it and pulled it on over his head, covering his scarred and beaten torso. The second item he grabbed was the pair of jeans he was wearing. No bandages meant he could slip right into them without much of a problem. Surprisingly, he wasn't putting up much of a resistance when it came to the waves of pain that shot through his nerves when a piece of fabric brushes up against a new stitch or a wrong move makes a new joint torque.
"We're.. In the middle of nowhere. Do we have a contingency plan for what we do after I'm all fixed up?"
He now turned to Aya, sighing a bit as he sifted through his sand-and-sun beaten clothing for a specific item.

"Hey. Thanks for watching over him.” Aya said. Tyson held up a thumb for a moment, dragging the waste basket over to grab the cards he had been flipping into it to pass the time. He piled them back into a deck and found the box they came in, slipping them back inside before he stood up to go over and put them back into the desk he’d found them in.
"So, did she leave a bolt in there or something?" Matt asked. Tyson smirked a bit and looked back to Matt.
“No, but we did lose a scalpel somewhere. If you find yourself itching, don’t scratch.” He said with a grin. He wandered over to the things they had brought into the trailer from outside, and Tyson pulled out an MRE package. He was hungry. Seemed like he was always hungry.
"We're.. In the middle of nowhere. Do we have a contingency plan for what we do after I'm all fixed up?" Matt asked. Tyson didn’t turn around.
“I’m thinking the next step includes boneless chicken breast and potatoes.” He said, holding the package up for them to see before he tore into it and started to prepare the package that served as a heater.

"Do we have a contingency plan for what we do after I'm all fixed up?" Nodding her head rather enthusiastically, "I'm still doing a search on your old implants for any leads. Now that they've been pulled out a fresh scan might bring up some more details that weren't visible when they were still inside," Aya looked over her shoulder to answer, crossing over to the diamond cutter once everyone seemed set in good moods. She looked in at the object being assembled keeping a close eye that all the right bearings and rivets were in the right locations. “I’m thinking the next step includes boneless chicken breast and potatoes.” Aya turned around at the mouth watering concept, "I can't argue with that," she surrendered to the sound of a good meal, dragging a stool over to sit down, "Y'know surgeons used to have their own meals whipped up for'em after an op," a faint buzzing sound could be heard outside the trailer, "I'm not talking lousy airplane meals either, like full on restaurant meals and-"KA-BLAMThe South wall of the trailer buckled from massive force; Aya felt gravity vanish from beneath her feet as the entire platform started rolling over, a high as hell horse power engine pushing against the entire structure. Objects and tools fell in space crashing to the roof of the trailer before returning to the floor again; losing count of how many times they turned, Aya could feel disorientation setting in, until finally she collided with the floor one last time. Several of the plates which covered the windows had been torn off in the onslaught shining orange morning light through into the now dark trailer, all of the power having been killed once the generator was demolished. The bronze haired girl propped herself up still feeling like she was stuck to the ceiling, "Is everyone alright!" Aya called out to Matthew and Tyson. The sudden switch between absolute mayhem and serene silence left the impression that there should still be noise going off. Once her hearing tuned in the sounds outside the trailer increased with clarity. Aya crawled over to one of the side benches and pulled herself up, looking out the window. First impression was a dust storm had picked up in the desert scape around the trailer and they were stuck in the eye of it. Aya focused in on the silhouettes moving about in the dust, "Damnit," looking out one of the other windows on the other side of the trailer, "What's the one setback of a silver bullet?" she asked candidly as if not knowing the blatant mistake in appearance. Joining her two compadres back down under cover, "It's Raiders. Got a smoke screen setup all around us so it's hard to tell how many there are," Aya reached up to grab her holster containing her FNP-9, "One issue with being in the middle of nowhere, if someone does find you, they won't be anyone civilized," she pulled the sidearm out ejecting the mag to double check its round count, "And they'll probably be more than interested in what you might have. That's most likely why they aren't riddling this entire thing with bullets yet," snapping the box back in releasing the slide catch. Crawling at top speed over to the diamond cutter, now bashed and cracked and in no working state, opening the furnace hatch to pull out her latest little gadget and hoping it was in completed condition, "Gonna have to give your new augments a field stress test a bit earlier than planned, Matthew," she told the man, still red from the stitching around his ears. Originally the plan was to let the stitching heal before any physical work; this was likely the kick in the teeth from Murphey for such a successful operation. Aya handed the refined EBR over to the reborn Mr. Destroy. The receiver still resembling the AR-15 style with the exception of the mag well being modified to hold two fist size capacitors in cylindrical compartments, a solid shock reducing AR buttstock rounds off any remaining similarities the rifle has with modern weaponry; the forwards section itself held more of an XM8 appearance in design, and the barrel itself replaced by a thick Titanium rod holding the Inertium element, "Should handle like a dream. Recoil is redirected so there won't be too much kick back. When you hear a shallow beep it means the rifle is overheating and you'll need to give it a moment to cool off. Ah-" Aya flicked up the mirror sights, "Didn't have a decent reflex sight handy, but that should suffice,"The only way to tackle these Raiders were to hit them where they felt safest. If Aya couldn't see well enough into the sandstorm it was likely they couldn't see much else 5 feet in front of them; the perfect scenario for a ghost to get involved with, "Okay Ty," Aya reached under the operating table for where her mask had fell to, "Looks like breakfast will need to hold off for a bit, man," the soldier girl strapped her second face on top of her head, wondering if the big guy was ready to play a little Army of Two on these scumbags.

Jostling wasn't the correct word to use. Ragdoll physics seemed to seem perfect for the given situation as the bullet trailer rolled end over end. Even with his new augmentations, Matthew didn't have the time to react to the massive force throwing them about. When the dust settled, he immediately hit the ground, sliding a few feet on the ground and rolling to a stop. This wasn't normal behavior. His instincts kicked in and he quickly rolled underneath the operating table and kicked his right foot out and connected with the steel leg, severing it from it's base with a loud twang and riding the table to it's side, dragging it towards Aya and backing up against the cold metal, hunkering down behind cover.
"It's Raiders. Got a smoke screen setup all around us so it's hard to tell how many there are, one issue with being in the middle of nowhere, if someone does find you, they won't be anyone civilized,"He heard Aya throw her voice out over the wind picking up and blowing through the now-devoured trailer.
He looked to her as she tossed him the EBR. With a puzzled look, he received it and shouldered it, watching her move her hand near his the flipping the sights up on the rifle.
"Should handle like a dream. Recoil is redirected so there won't be too much kick back. When you hear a shallow beep it means the rifle is overheating and you'll need to give it a moment to cool off. Ah- didn't have a decent reflex sight handy, but that should suffice."
He slid his finger over the trigger and squeezed it a little, feeling the pressure behind the pull and giving his muscle a bit of memory when it comes to squeezing the damn thing.
"I'm heading out. Give me some cover fire."
He held up his right hand to Aya and Tyson, giving them both a glance as he held up his right fist and raised his index finger, then his middle finger and lastly his ring finger as he dived out of cover and into the center of the destroyed trailer. He heard a few shots ring out- friendly or not, this was now a fight. He struggled to his feet for a moment before rushing out of the trailer and into the smokescreen, lifting the rifle and keeping his momentum, running forward.
Almost immediately he saw the outline of a man, wearing what looked like rags and seemed to be carrying some sort of rifle in his arms. Without hesitation, he sidestepped and squeezed the trigger, still moving horizontally now as a clean hole bored through the man's chest almost instantly, a strange whir emitted from the rifle as he now was within a few feet from the attacking raider. As the body started to fall, Matthew reached out with his left hand, holding the EBR in his right and caught the raider by the collar and held him back up. The sounds of footsteps in the sand echoed within his eardrums as he spun around, ducking and bringing the raider about face just as a barrage of rounds slammed into the lifeless body.
Matthew extended his arm, holding the body out forward a bit more and moved the rifle towards the body, sticking the titanium rod inside the gaping wound and lined up with the attacking raider. He quickly squeezed the trigger, feeling the recoil through the makeshift organic barrier and hearing the whir was it was muffled through the man's internal organs. He didn't check for a kill before he dropped the body and moved into a crouch, shouldering the rifle and taking a look at his surroundings. Sand and debris filled the open and more importantly- his lungs. He let out a quick cough and moved his free left hand to his neck to instinctively raise his Shemagh scarf to his nose- he felt nothing. He cursed momentarily, remembering it sitting perfectly on top of a table near the door of the trailer.
The sandstorm that the raiders kicked up clouded his vision and likewise obscured his own body from being discovered within 10 to 15 feet. Intuit direction was almost impossible and he had to just rely on the sounds of gunfire and shouting to tell where the enemy was. Hopefully his companions were fairing better.

Tyson had been lucky when the impact hit the trailer. At the north end, against the table that was bolted to the wall. He was pushed into the wall by the force of the truck and grabbed hold of the table instinctively. He was saved from the rather painful fall that the others endured, the first roll launching him under the table. Able to stay in position by bracing against the floor and the underside of the table.
They came to a stop, and he reached to the back of his head and rubbed it gingerly. His fingers touched something wet, and he pulled away to look at what was no doubt blood from a scalp laceration. Luckily, it was only water from the bottle he had been holding when they went airborne.
“Ow…” He said in a deadpan as he rolled out from under the table, a dull throb running up his broken leg. Cracking his neck a few different times to try and alleviate the kink that had worked in it from the whiplash, he brought himself to a sitting position behind the operating table that Matt had moved with some ease.
He pulled the Glock from the back of his waistband, yanking on the slide to jack a round in the empty chamber.
"Looks like breakfast will need to hold off for a bit, man.” Aya said as he flipped her mask down. He reached for his own, not too far away. He put the straps over his head and started synching them in place.
“Now I’m p**sed.” He said, grabbing it but not flipping it down yet. He got up to take a look outside. He could see the outline of his truck in the distance, fifty or so feet away. The real firepower was there. He needed to get to it. Not just to equalize the odds, but for the simple fact that if any of them got their hands on an M60 loaded with armor piercing rounds, things would take a slight turn for the worst.
“If I can get my gun, I’ll mop the floor with these pricks. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t go through all that s**t in Vegas to get killed in the f**king desert by a bunch of dick wads who think their badasses.” He said, flipping the mask down and peeking back up. He saw Matt disappear into a cloud of smoke and sand, the retort of the EBR standing out amongst the other weapon fire. Fifty feet of fire and hard times to level the playing field. Easy as pie.
“Ready when you are.” He said, a formality. He knew she was ready. Standing up and moving out into the thick of the fight, he took cover by the trailer for a moment. Sizing up the run one last time, shooting a burst of fill auto fire around the corner, thinking of how he was going to clear that ground on a broken leg.
And like a light switch flipping from on to off, the thoughts ceased instantly. Replaced with the one goal he needed to achieve. He broke out into a run that didn’t seem hampered at all by the broken bones, a run he’d pay for later. Looking for muzzle flashes or anything else that may give him a clue as to where to put his bullets, he fired off single rounds into the smoke just to try and keep them under cover. He didn’t see any sand being kicked up near him, which meant no one was shooting at him. Which probably meant Matt was giving them hell.
“You good?!” He yelled out without looking away from the truck that was growing closer and closer. He assumed Aya was beside or behind him. That or she had gone ahead so quickly he’d missed her. Any were viable possibilities.

Popping around to the opening of the trailer as Matthew ducked out, firing off shots until he made it into the dust cloud. She popped back into cover as several rounds spacked the silver bullet while reloading, ignoring the empty mag as it clattered across the messy floor. Tyson motioned for larger firepower, something Aya seemingly missed as well and held no protest in seeking. “Ready when you are.” The brute started out the trailer door. Aya was about to follow before she remembered to grab the note pad with Matt's inner ear scans, strapping it to her back. Aya leaped out behind him hitting the dirt at a sprint; she couldn't see anything to shoot at, at least not yet, the dust ring was way to thick. They must have been kicking it up a while before the initial ram against the trailer with one of their trucks. “You good?!” Aya heard Tyson's muffled voice call back to her, "Yeah!" still trying to find something to shoot at in her surroundings, "Hey, I have to go and grab some extra ammo from my bike! I'll meet you at the Ford! Thing's bullet proof so it'll make perfect cover!" she broke off their two man formation, curving at a tangent to head for her Luna. A deep and hollow pop was heard from the dust, Aya watched a small dark object fly in the direction of her bike; her reaction was to 180 it out of there but the speed she was moving at refused the action throwing her into an awkward skid as the 40mm impacted at the very stand of the Luna launching the super bike 20 feet into the air in a ball of fire, "Motherf*ck!" Aya cussed at the prick who had released the round looking feverishly into the dust cloud. The derelict motorbike crashed back down to earth with a subtle bounce; with no time to mourn her partner in transport Aya scratched against the dirt to return to her feet, another hollow thud emitting behind her. She felt the heat from the second grenade, exploding far to close for comfort. The raider didn't even wait for her to get up again, a second pop throwing another 40mm coursed through the air. Standing, Aya went quarterback moving to catch the grenade as it completed its arc and pitched it back in the direction it came. The sound of metal creaking and tearing blasted through the dust cloud, dirt and debris picking up from the explosion. Aya reveled in the counter attack; cold heart revenge. The bronze haired girl scrabbled beneath Tyson's ford meeting him at the other side next to the bed, "Backup ammo's out. Got anything I can use?" she requested, feeling a little naked with only 16 rounds to her name. Trucking her view back to the dust; muzzle flashes were becoming more prominent but lacked direction towards the duo. Matthew must have been racking up a stir by now. A cursory glance at the cabin of the Ford turned into an intense stare, an idea dawning, "Just a second opinion. D'you reckon yer truck kinda looks like a Raider vehicle?" she pointed her thumb at the old utility truck. A moment to mull, "Give me the keys and hop in the back," the perfect reverse sting at the dust cloud concept; if they hit neutral with another Raider vehicle Tyson could blow the sh*t out of it from the bed of the Ford.

Resorting swinging the EBR like a club wasn't something he wanted to do, but the way the raiders are positioned he may have to forgo ADS and just rush them. Standing up from his crouching position, he heard voices in the distance followed by three explosives, rocking the ground and sending plumes of smoke into the air. He saw what looked like a large scrap of metal soar into the air and smack back down on the ground about 30 meters from him. The sand had cleared now, so he could see where the explosions had cleared the debris- just barely leaving an open chink in their armor.
He lifted the sights and leveled them at one raider who was limping away holding a mangled right arm. He squeezed the trigger, the whirr exploded from the rifle and a hole instantly carved it's way through the rear of the man's skull, sending a streak of crimson into the air as his body snapped to the ground. He started jogging towards where he saw the scrap of metal hit the ground, seeing more reinforcements from where the previous raider was. Within 10 meters of the bike, he crouched down, seeing two more raiders opening fire about 20 or so meters from his current position, aiming for something in the distance- probably Aya and Tyson. Once again, he lifted the rifle and leveled the sights, squinting his right eye and pulling the trigger, hitting one squarely in the chest and sending him to the ground as the other turned his attention to Matthew just long enough for another trigger pull, creating a clean hole through the man's right cheek, spinning him clockwise to the ground in a violent spiral of crimson.
"We have to get out of here!"
He yelled, starting in a jog to the scrap of metal. He approached it and crouched down. It was the Luna. He cursed and kicked it once before stepping over it with his rifle drawn. No enemies. He made a full sprint towards where the first explosion hit and then kept moving, stepping over the glassed sand approaching the edge of the sand cloud. He burst through it and lifted the EBR, scanning the immediate area. Directly in front of him was the Impala, sitting neatly where it was parked. One raider was playing with the lock on the trunk while one more was rushing off to another direction. Matthew quickly spun the rifle towards that man and pulled the trigger, sending a bolt of energy towards the radier's pelvic area, boring a hole clean through his hip and sending him to the ground with a scream.
Right as the man at the trunk looked up, he caught a burst of energy in the nasal cavity, collapsing his facial features and snapping his head back with a spray of gore and blood, his body collapsing to the sand. Matthew quickly rushed towards the driver's side door of the Impala and threw it open. He tossed the EBR into the passenger seat and fished around in his pocket for the keys. He quickly grasped them and stuck the key into the ignition, revving it. The car roared to life and he quickly moved his right hand to the shifter and threw it into reverse, kicking up sand and debris as the car tore backwards, far enough away from the sand to get a good look at the whole area.
At a safe distance, he reached into the glove compartment and retrieved his radio, turning it to channel 6 - their station- and depressing the talk button.
"I've made it to the Impala, where are you two?"

“I reckon.” Tyson answered, liking the idea. He reached into his pocket and handed her the key, the only key on the ring. The only thing on the ring. Made one wonder why there was even a ring at all.
Giving Aya free reign over the vehicle, he stood up and toppled over the side of the bed. Coming to rest in the back, he soon realized he wasn’t alone. s***…
Spinning on his back in time to see a figure looming over him with a small knife in hand, formerly trying to jimmy open the lock box inside the tool chest of the truck, currently winding up to take a stab at Tyson. Tyson shot his fist from its current position, catching the attacker in the groin. He heard the grunt, imagined the air leaving the raider’s lungs as he tried to ignore the pain shooting into his stomach. Using his right knee, Tyson took the man’s legs out from under him, toppling him back with a thud. The thud being the back of his head on the tailgate.
Sitting up and grabbing the attacker by the front of the shirt and by a leg, Tyson tossed the unconscious man out of the bed with ease and turned his attention to the lockbox. Opening it with the ease that would be burglar couldn’t manage, Tyson pulled out the assault sized machine gun and racked the charging handle.
Banging the roof of the truck to let Aya know everything was good on the back end, he crouched back down and used the side of the bed to steady the weapon. He could already make out one of the raider’s vehicles in the distance. Another pickup truck. One that wasn’t as well armored as his, he knew that right now. Only a few more seconds until they met the s*** storm that they never expected from a small group of victims in the middle of nowhere.

Hopping over to the drivers seat once inside, Aya snatched up Tyson's shotgun she found in the passenger seat while jabbing the keys into the ignition and giving it a turn. Pushing her mask on top of her head, she checked the rear view mirror to see Tyson tossing an unconscious body over the back of the truck. The Ford went nova, hood almost shaking from the power beneath it. Aya changed to second before even moving, picking up an intense amount of revs. As she gunned it for the dust cloud the ivory girl pushed it straight from second to fifth meeting the speed quota with the rest of the Raiders. By this time they were likely wondering where the hell their their victims had gotten to. "I've made it to the Impala, where are you two?" Aya jumped, startled, expecting to see Matthew's smiling face looking back at her from the glove compartment, "Jesus, bleeding-" snatching up the radio and hitting TTP, "I'm in Tyson's truck, he's in the back. We're in the dust cloud right now so try and identify any targets before shooting," Aya asked politely before dropping the radio onto the passenger seat. The bronze haired girl was well and truly sick of the low visibility. She had one ace these Raider's were unaware of, and would inevitably be the death of them. The yellow hues of her iris rotated slightly, the dark pupil reflecting red. Her vision went a pale crimson zoning out any solid dimension, the hot engines of the Raiders vehicles were a white bloom. The first was Aya's; not willing to let Tyson hog all of the kills. She PIT maneuvered the unsuspecting truck giving the driver some speed wobble before winding down the window and unloading a buckshot on the front right wheel. The tire popped, and as the truck dropped a third of a metre its axle snapped, and dropping further from there moving at such a speed made it go head over heals like a chocolate block tumbleweed. Rolling up the window, Aya sped up to approach the next truck bringing it to a neutral speed so that Tyson had easy pickings.

Vision was impaired to the point of resorting to stepping on the gas and swerving violently to the right, attempting to reverse through the thick wall of sand and debris that was inevitably kicked up by all the vehicles spinning out and driving away. He threw the car into drive immediately and headed back towards the trailer, his mind set on getting some sort of bearings and then finding which was was up. As soon as the silver bullet was in view, he saw that the door- or what was left of it- was facing towards him, which meant after all the rolling it was still facing towards the road they came from. He quickly hit the brake, grinding the car to a halt sideways, cutting into the sand as he repositioned the Impala back the correct direction. He picked up his radio as Aya's voice cut in.
"I'm in Tyson's truck, he's in the back. We're in the dust cloud right now so try and identify any targets before shooting."
He squeezed the radio and depressed the talk button and opened his mouth to speak just as the radio exploded in his hand. He felt a searing hot pain in the palm of his right hand and, before he knew what hit him, a barrage of rounds tore through the driver's side door. He made a split decision and dived into the back seat, rolling onto the floor board and covering his head as the rounds ricocheted about the cabin and shattered the windows like sugar candy. Feeling something metal prodding into his lower back, he reached back with his right hand and felt the familiar grip of an old friend. He pulled the large Autorevolver from the floorboard and propped it up on the seat. He quickly popped his head up and stole a glance over the shattered window at whoever was riddling his car with holes.
Two raiders. Each armed with assault rifles. He cursed his luck and ducked his head back down as a round whizzed over his left eyebrow, leaving behind a red streak on his flesh in it's wake. He looked down and flicked the cylinder out of the Mateba, spinning it once to count the remaining rounds- six. He smiled, knowing that it was always nice to have a loaded hand-cannon when he needed it. Waiting for a moment, Matthew peeked out again as the bullets stopped momentarily- they were reloading. He took this opportunity and tugged his left hand out from under his body and pulled the door handle out and swung the door open. He rolled forward head over heels onto the sand and landed in a crouch, taking a quick shot at the two- not necessarily aiming. He quickly rushed into a charge, lifting the gun up and taking another shot- the round tore through one of the raider's right shoulder, causing him to recoil momentarily. Once Matthew was within ten yards, he burst into a full sprint, ducking down and approaching one of the raiders. Using the momentum from the run, Matthew dropped into a slide and quickly brought his free left elbow out and dug it into the raider's stomach, sending him reeling forward in pain. Seeing as his back was turned to the other raider, he did a few quick calculations in his head and stuck the barrel of the gun underneath his left armpit and fired. The air was still momentarily before he heard the thud of a body hitting the sand.
His eyes widened and he quickly pulled the gun away from his armpit, feeling the sting of the hot barrel long after it was removed. He sighed, walking casually over to the one he felled recently- who was still writhing- and lifted him up by his collar with his free left hand. Matthew straightened up, pulling the weight of the man off the ground and lifting him quite easily up to eye level. He looked into the man's beaten and weathered eyes- they were filled with fear. He's seen that look before.. He was acquainted with it all too well. He let go of the man and stumbled back a step. The raider looked at him for a moment and froze. Matthew looked at him quizzically, as if studying him. This feeling- he hesitated killing this man, even though he so wanted to kill him.
"Go!"
Matthew barked, stepping towards the raider. The man stumbled backwards a few inches and quickly turned tail and ran, dropping his assault rifle into the sand. With a sigh, Matthew lifted the autorevolver in his hand and looked at it once before sticking it into it's holster on his belt. He walked a few feet forward and knelt down, picking up the sand-beaten Kalashnikov. He looked it over for a moment before yanking back the hammer, looking inside the breach- it was loaded- full. The man hadn't fired a shot, even though he was reloaded. He raised his right eyebrow and then shrugged, taking a look around for a moment as he broke out of his stupor. Matthew shook his head as the reality of the situation took hold once more.
"Sh!t..."
He ran back towards the Impala, moving to the driver's door and pulling it open, sliding into the seat and hitting the gas- it revved to life. A breath of relief slid out of his lips as he hit the gas, finally taking off in the intended direction. He had no way to get a hold of his compatriots, he only hoped that they knew the way out once they were finished.

Everything seemed to be going so well. The PIT maneuver that ended up sending the first group of raiders head over heels worked out nicely. Tyson made a note to flip Aya some s*** about scratching his paint job when they were out of this mess. She moved in toward the next vehicle, and Tyson was ready.
Knee planted to the bed of the truck, the bent leg against the left side of the truck. The broken leg stayed straight, pushing against the right side. Tyson leaned in, slipping the grip of the M60E4 into one of the squares meant for hooks in the event of tying something down in the back of the truck, steadying it by pushing against it. His finger was on the trigger, he bent down to get a level sight at the red dot optic, he was ready to turn an old Ford half ton into a combat vehicle with full offensive capability.
Their truck pulled up along side a raider’s, Aya kept the speed the same as theirs. Easy as hell, given the racing grade parts under the hood and the driver behind the wheel. The men in the bed of the enemy truck didn’t even notice a beat up truck that looked like one of their own. They didn’t do anything until the first shots were fired. And even then, there wasn’t much of anything they could do.
The full auto storm of lead left Tyson’s barrel, cutting into the men and their truck like paper. The steel cored 7.62x51mm armor piercing rounds almost tore men in half. The sand behind the truck and the bed filled with blood and chunks of flesh. Without letting up on the trigger, he swung it to the left, punching a line through the metal of the body and sending rounds into the car. The passenger was killed with the line, the rounds that tore through the driver kept going and entered the engine, and the vehicle quickly lost speed as the innards were torn to shreds as easily as the bodies of the raiders. Letting up on the trigger when he was damn sure they were all dead, he banged on the roof of the cab to let Aya know the deed was done.
“Next!” He yelled through the now opened back window of the cab, the twisted smile carved into the mask mirrored on his own face, an deep laugh going unheard over the roar of the truck and the muffling from the mask.
