Karl parked himself outside the caves that the cultists went to, stopped at, and left, and then got their pilot to follow them instead. He was good. He could handle it. If he was able to stay unnoticed, his pilot would be able to. He hunkered down, activated his P.D.A to update his status, got himself adapted to the surrounding, and got his DPMS LR-308 chambered in .470 rhino ready to snipe anyone coming at them who didn't warn him first through the proper channels. He was in indian country now.

Quicksilver listened to Anthony's words and scratched out another message in the sand. The single word said "INTERPOL". He wasnt going to go into detail about how Karl was the real agent and he was just along because he could do things a squad of Delta Force members couldnt. Nothing like having someone standing in plain sight, invisible, for backup instead of outside where they had to break in to be of any help. And the fact that he could take out squads of armed men with a steak knife didnt hurt either.
He remembered Karl's order about trying to find the Surgeon and then heart Anthony speak like he knew him. He figured it was a good start to ask who he was.
"Who is the Surgeon?" He scratched in the sand, slipping the finally clean WASP knife in its sheath next to the others.

OOC: is this dead?

ooc: I hope it's not dead unless you mailed the insurance forms that I gave you two weeks back gunny
ic: Anthony waited for Silver to finish writing, then after reading the question opened his case and pulled out a folder he had on the Surgeon.
"To be honest, we kinda don't know. He's ex umbrella, designed control devices for some of their BOW projects, as well as several BOW designs of his own. At some point during the governments dismantling of the company he not only erased his own records, but the paper trails to several labs, agents and bank accounts. Seems he's gone into work for himself."
The first set of photos in the folder showed several half man half animal mutants.
"Project manimal, one of his sick pet projects. You might of heard of that bunker complex in Val Verde, all the things that were let out of there recently."
the next pictures were the few photos of the Surgeon himself with his known mercenaries making deals with various criminals.
"Sadly, he wears a mask most of the time, love the theatrics, so he could be pretty much anyone. We know he always travels with this man." A close up picture of a large tanned mercenary holding a sadistic looking knife. "Kabal Khan? One of the middle east and asia's shoot on sight list. This is him buying cadavers in Saradia, you might imagine for what purpose."
"and here's an interesting one." The last image was a small spherical device with wires hanging from it, caked in blood. "My reason for finding the guy and bringing him in alive."

Quicksilver looked at the pictures with intrest. This guy was more and more going on his stab on sight list by the minute. And he didnt even have one of those. But this guy was sure going to be the first one. The Umbrella conections were bad enough. The fact that he had erased himself and his buddies was annoying. But the fact that he was in the business of making his own BOWs and god only knew what else was making more and more easy to imagine choking him with his own entrails.
When he saw the picture of the globe looking object, he pointed at the picture and held his hand up in a motion that conveyed confusion. He wanted to know exactly what that thing was.

"This thing?" Anthony looked back at the implant picture. "One of his designs for control implants for BOWs, to stop them attacking their handlers you know?"
"Well this design is linked to a second unit. Both hooked up to the nervous system of two subjects, when subject A feels pain, B gets a taste as well through his unit."
A few papers were flicked through.
"Made of a special material that doesn't show up on X rays or anything like that. It isn't easy to remove unless you know where it is to begin with, can't just cut around randomly. The Surgeon wanted to test it out so he put one in a mutant running around somewhere, and the other...."
Anthony packed away his folders and pictures.
"Well, you can guess why it's my vendetta right?"

Not sure if it was alright with Baldivino and his agents Carlita searched through the radio channels until she picked up Mina.
"Major." She spoke loudly so she could be heard over the helicopter she thought her commander would be on. Instead a calm voice spoke back.
"I'm on the ground." Carlita immediately wondered how far she should lower her tone, if these people thought she was trying to report secrets it could bode badly for her. "Report."
"I wanted to ask you something." Carlita watched Baldivino carefully, having changed her speaking to be quieter, but still easily heard. "You know someone named Karl?"
"Karl?" Mina immediately fired back. "Yes, you know him. He's a good friend of mine, knows Nanci well too. You remember him. He's in special forces."
"Oh." Carlita tried to remember who he was, and for some reason kept coming up with someone German. A vague memory perhaps? She didn't know. "Met those...freedom fighters. About the information we needed from them."
"Anything to report?" Mina demanded. Turning away, Carlita pondered the right way to answer.
"They're Christians in action," she finally answered, looking for a way to elaborate while hoping the Marine understood what she was saying. "They think they on crusade against great evil."
"Well we knew that might be the case." Mina thought about what she was told. "If they allow you contact that must mean they trust you."
"Told them I understand why they fight." Carlita wondered what Mina would think of that.
"How come you were asking about Karl?" she replied after a moment. The Spaniard placed a hand over the reciever and looked at Baldivino.
"Should I press on?" she enquiried.

OOC: short and sweet
Baldivino's smile faded a little, as he looked back at Carlito, and says quietly, unsure of whether or not he should say she should, because he was very keen on secrecy on all of this
As long as you remember I'm faceless and watch what you say.

Carlita wandered over to Baldivino so he could hear Mina's replies and spoke.
"Heard there was a Karl here," she explained. Watching the CIA agent or whoever he was Carlita shrugged, waiting to hear a reply.
"The guirellas know about him?" she finally asked. Carlita knew she had to be careful here, about not lying to her commander or saying something that would upset Baldivino.
"Probably even less than me. Have the name though, thought it worth asking."
"Hmm." Carlita waited and allowed Mina to think for a moment. "I would have thought this would be something that would not involve him."
"Maybe it's not the same guy," Carlita thought. "Heard the name, so, maybe."
"Can you hold a moment while I check?" The Marine was well aware of how much, or rather how little, the people Carlita was with might give her.
"I might have to call you back on that."
"I'll have something for you then," Mina promised, thinking she had better let her go before anyone got upset.
"One other thing," Carlita said, trying to pose her words carefully. "If the guirellas will not help us, what is our next move?"
"You know there is not much open to us, otherwise I would not have placed you in the position you're in now," Mina said, before thinking of something to assure her. "They won't make a move on an FBI agent, not if they want a chance of doing something about the boarder patrols."
"And any rational person would want the killings near the boarder to stop," Carlita added, as much for Baldivino's benefit as for Mina's.
"That's right. At worst, they refuse to help. In which case we need to try and find other avenues."
The CIA might know something, Carlita desperately wanted to suggest. Given the circumstances though she didn't dare, but maybe there was a way to get Mina digging without alerting Baldivino, and knew she would need to think long and hard about how to do that.
"This seems as bad as..." Carlita began, before pulling herself up. "I think I need to leave it at that." Not sure what else to do, she handed the radio over to Baldivino, wondering if she had said too much, or maybe...just maybe, he was willing to have something to add.

Baldivino held the radio away from him far enough that he felt comfortable speaking, his eyes narrowing as he looks at her, betraying a mild feeling of annoyance
Satisfied?
Baldivino wasn't sure exactly what Carlita was fishing for, or why she even needed to confirm Karl Reinhardt's existence, but he knew that he needed to get her going, and get her going along the path soon. The last intel report he'd read meant there was a lot that was on the United States' plate, and his partners thus had a lot on their plates... a busy schedule for sure. He knew that if they ever needed pawns to get the job done without bringing down the black-ops-wet-as-the-pacific hammer on someone, it was now.

"Far from it," Carlita had to admit, "we have many unanswered questions about... everything damn it." Getting the hint from Baldivino she added, "but we go with what we got." If he was really CIA then he probably picked up on some of what Carlita was trying to achieve, hence his annoyance. "You want me to find this...Reindart is it?" If their goals were mutual then it made sense to do as he said.
Too many ifs for my liking. And as she said too many questions. But the guirella lead seemed to have dried up for the moment, Mina hadn't said anything. Probably tell them to drop dead and get me out of here. She didn't like this at all, but there seemed little other alternative at this point.
"You say when and I go." She walked right up to Baldivino, she was only a couple of inches over him, but that might have been enough. "About these murders." That was part of the reason she agreed to the meeting in the first place. "I need to know, does Agency have anything? At all? No matter how minor? This is important."

Baldivino nodded stiffly, still looking at her with an increasingly stern look.
Karl Reinhardt. All I can say is hush-hush assets are being redeployed to this area from a classified operation to handle the bio-weapons situation. We think the cultists may have something to do with the murders. That is another reason your going out there to help him.
He quietly reached into a pouch on his belt and pulled out a small, cheapish looking but quite durable PDA it held it out for her, saying quietly
Mr.Reinhardt has been making reports on his status lately. This PDA should allow you to contact him when you get close enough. I highly suggest warning him before making an approach. Get going. Just don't forget what I said, and get out of there when you can. We'll be watching.
Baldivino was already watching her, and so far it didn't seem like he blinked. He hadn't blinked at least the entire he said that last part. He really didn't know whether the joint Task force Pantheon and CIA team running black ops in Russia was being withdrawn and deployed here, but he was just trying to console her and make up for the fact that hes more out of the circle then he appears. He was not really a CIA agent, and he didn't say he was, but he was apparently passing himself off as being affiliated with them. Technically he was, but... Eh. CIA agents acted mysterious enough that even if Baldivino didn't say enough to make it seem like he knew all the CIA knew about down here, he would still blend into their circle.

Quicksilver looked at the object, and then over at Anthony. Interesting... He was glad Ramsey had never stuck anything like that in him. Be a pain in the ass even after killing the old bastard.
He bent back toward the ground, scratching another message into the sand. This one took a bit longer than the others. When he was done, it read "You continue what you were doing. I'll watch your back." Before Anthony had a chance to read it, he took a breath and concentrated for a moment, slowly dissapearing and fading from veiw. He walked around the other side of the building and his footprints dissapeared from sight entirely. It looked as though Anthony was on his own again, but Quicksilver didnt stray far.

"Reinhardt," Carlita mused. "Hmm, German monk named Reinhardt I recall." Picturing a bald, bearded Kraut in robes she figured that wouldn't be the same guy, and also figured she had said enough. "I'll be careful." The FBI agent began to take off, trying to figure between this Karl person, the agency and anti American guirellas what her chances of not getting shot were. That was when she felt a sharp pain in her foot and pulled to a sudden stop, thinking maybe a scorpion had stung her like what happened to one of her boyfriends and crouched down. She recognised what it was though.
Damn it. The blasted artheritis was acting up in her big toe again, no way was she going to be able to make it on foot.
"Uh, hey," she called out, pulling herself to her feet. "Have no transportation to where this Karl might be." After glancing down at the ground Carlita nodded her head towards the vehicles that had brought Baldivino and his agents here. "Por favor?"

Baldivino looked over at the Cartel enforcers truck hesitantly, and thought on his response. Still, Baldivino knew what he was here for, and what had to be done, and didn't mind "taking a hit for the team" to get it done. Baldivino finally said
Fine, take it. We'll leave the .50 cal.
Baldivino went over to the truck and got the soldiers off it, and they started their long trek to walk off and leave, the cartel soldiers grumbling but still compliant. Baldivino took out his cell phone, and was probably getting them a ride out of there
