“ Are you ready for today’s test? “ The long haired cotton candy colored male asked with a calm and seldom tone of voice. The bangs came off from long roots in a M shape with pointed tips. His hair was naturally straight and went down almost appearing girl like. He placed his eyes on his friend that was standing nearby. His eyes filled with anxious feelings and nervousness as he sat, perched on the buildings railing ledge.
“ Yeah; sure why not. “ Came the response from a male with short raven colored hair, ear length cut, with spiked edges and parted bangs. His arms were positioned on the railing as well. His head looking over as he peered off into the scenery. Every so often when his friend spoke, he would move his eyes to the side, meeting with his friends.
The pink haired male shook his head from side to side as he watched his friends calm, lax disposition. “ That's not the kind of attitude I am looking for! This determines the rest of our lives you know. “ His tone of voice instantly shifted from calm to frantic in a split second. He Took one deep breath and sighed it out, almost as if he were disappointed or annoyed. He hopped off the railing seconds later and landed on the soles of his feet.
The raven haired male's expression changed to a more pained and nervous one as he lifted his hands from the railing and lifted them up, facing his friend. “ Hey, calm down Sparrow! No need to be so uptight about this. You know that I am only joking. “ He closed his eyes and smiled trying to ease the tension between them.
Sparrows brows narrowed as he crossed his arms against his breast and gave a stern frown in his friends direction. “ Kenta, you need to take things more seriously. And what is this talk about being uptight? I am not uptight! Got it?! “ He huffed his face and held his breath as he held his arms crossed and stomped his foot one time briefly., turning his head in annoyance.
Kenta opened his eyes and set his glimmering Cerulean gaze on Sparrows own. His facial expression changing to a more serious one as his smile fell indifferent and blank.“ Sparrow, you know I am not a serious person when it comes to tests and exams. I usually fly pass them. Besides, I am a Saruwatari and you know that my family are known to be prodigy’s. I am not worried in the slight bit. “ He turned his back to his friend and gripped the railing in front of him with both hands. His eyes were now starring out into the void as he shifted them to the scenery below.
Sparrow turned his head to Kenta's direction and spoke.“ Even so, it wouldn't kill you to just step off your high horse and care that I may not pass the exam. You know very well if I don't pass then we can't start our journey together. “ His tone of voice was sharp and solid as he tried to explain to Kenta how he felt.
Kenta was still in his own world as Sparrow spoke to him. Within a few moments time he responded. “ I am not nervous about your exam. You have been training all year round. I have faith in your abilities Sparrow.” He spoke calm and clear. Almost, monotone in a way. His face void of emotion.
Sparrow watched Kenta intently. His eyes became saddened as he watched Kenta's expression. He was extremely distraught about something. Sparrow took a small breath and walked over to Kenta. He placed an arm on the railing and used his other hand to rub Kenta's back, comforting him. “ You really hate Oasis don't you?? “ Sparrows tone was sympathetic and low. He was trying to not set Kenta off into a worse depressive state.
“ I don't hate Oasis. It is just that I have no freedom. I am so trapped. It isn't funny. The only thing that has made any of this durable is you Sparrow. We have been friends since childhood. Even now in our teens we haven't parted once. We are together everyday and yet we still aren't sick of each other. We always have each others back and It will always stay that way. I will wait how ever long it takes you to pass. Without you It would not be any world I would want to live in. “ Kenta's expression faded to a happier one as he turned his head to his friend and smiled, closing his eyes.
Sparrow's doubts had been lifted as he could feel the burden and sadness Kenta carried. He wanted to cry but didn't have the nerve to. Not in front of Kenta at least. “ Kenta, That is nice of you to say. I have always been by your side for as long as I can remember. I could never picture us separated. Since that day in the streets when you protected me. I have never been any happier than when I am with you. I have never stopped smiling any time I have been with you. You made my life what it is today. Without you I don't think I would have lived to Fourteen Years. “ He then blushed as a sudden rush of thoughts came into his mind. His pale complexion warming. His cheeks turned pink as a reaction.
Kenta could feel his friends hand on his back. It was warm and soft. Sparrow had comforted him before but this was extremely sensitive. He held his hand as he listened to Sparrows words and felt a warmth growing inside of him. He had never cared for anyone and yet He still cherished Sparrow and always wanted to protect him. These feelings were unknown to him and he had no answer. He stood there without breaking eye contact for even a second as he held his gaze with Sparrows.
Sparrow had never looked at Kenta as anything other than an older friend or big brother but suddenly his mind was rushing to all sort of obscene and sexual thoughts. He twiddled with his finger tips as he pushed them together in hesitation. “ Kenta, we have been friends for so long. So so So long. It seems to me that we are “ He inhaled abruptly and then exhaled slowly. His voice now in a stutter as he walked a step closer to Kenta. “ Maybe more than friends. “ His tone of voice was heavy and enticing.
Kenta's senses shot wild as he heard the tones and tensions being thrown at him. He instantly let go of Sparrows hand as a reaction and stepped away slightly. “ Best friends? “ He spoke low and almost scared as his heart pounded in his chest. That warm feeling now turned to butterflies as he felt Sparrows sexual energy being flowed into him.
Sparrow sighed as he he felt a scared and vulnerable Kenta back away. He had never seen any side of Kenta as weak or impenetrable but at this moment he could have been stabbed by a butter knife and it would of killed him. He was so frail. Sparrow turned his back to Kenta and spoke under his breath in a low whisper “ You are so clueless sometimes Kenta. “
Kenta could feel distance between the two as Sparrow turned away from him. It seemed like they were now miles apart. His chest felt so cold as the burning subsided. He took a step towards Sparrow and felt a wall being built between them. “ Are you ok? “ The need of Sparrows warmth became stronger as he inched closer to the younger male.
In an instant, Sparrow became depressed and turned around. His face was flushed and beet red.-- Like he had been in a tub of boiling water for too long-- His eyes had apparent tears and it was obvious he had been crying. “ I am fine Kenta.” He didn't hesitate, not wanting to alarm Kenta. He tried to smile as he lifted his peach complexion hand to his face and wiped away the tears with the side of his small wrist.
The visual of Sparrow in tears, sent Kenta over the edge. He gripped his hands fiercely into a fist. “ Why is he crying? “ This question drove him insane. He had no clue what set Sparrow off. “ Was it the awkwardness that just happened between us?? “ His mind clouded as his emotions went into a state of flux. His brows narrowed as he bit his lip in reaction – It was almost like they hated each other. – A few moments soon after he decided he needed to break the silence. “ Sparrow we have time to kill. What would you like to do? “ His tone of voice was cracking but still solid. He even managed to force a smile as he struggled to lift his quivering lips.
The tears that Sparrow shed had finally ceased to flow. He was finally calming down from the previous situation. Without wanting to stay in that current state of mind he shook his head from side to side. A sad attempt to shake his obscene thoughts lose from his mind. The sound of Kenta's voice could be heard ringing through his head Like a church bell chiming. He broke his dazed gaze and set his amethyst eyes on Kenta. He had never noticed it until now but Kenta was a true beauty. Light Cerulean eyes, porcelain skin that looked flawless, and dark midnight hair that was already styled and cut. Not to mention Kenta was thin and Sparrow loved that about him. “ He is so amazing. He is everything I have ever wanted in my life and he is my “ He sounded childlike and special. He lowered his head and his cheeks burned crimson. “ My protector. “
The conversation became silent and neither person spoke. Kenta watched his friend intently. “ Why is he acting so weird? “ This question annoyed him so much that is caused confusion within himself. Why did he even care so much?? Sparrow was his best friend but these emotions and thoughts that poured into his mind were too explicit to be friendly. Finally, after a moments time of Sparrow just looking at him, Kenta spoke to break the silence. “ You will catch a cold if you stay here any longer “ Without so much as a warning, he gripped his hand around sparrows wrist and pulled him to the side of the building, enough so they were out of the brisk winds. They were on top of the Saruwatari Towers. A larger complex then most of the town s smaller buildings and what they had to offer. It was a common thing to catch an afternoon bug if you stood up on the roof too long.
The tension between the two died down and Sparrow could feel his emotions calm and his mind settle. This was until Kenta pulled him by his wrist and to the side of the building. He made the corniest excuse Sparrow had ever heard – Like he would actually get sick – “ No, No , No. I am plenty fine! “ His tone of voice was reassuring but upset. With eye narrowed at Kenta he pulled away as a reaction. He broke free from Kenta's grip and turned his back to his best friend. Sparrow didn't feel like his security was being compromised but he pulled away regardless.
Shock covered Kenta´s face as he felt his friend pull away. Almost like a dog that lost its favorite bone, went searching after it and gripped it in his teeth. Kenta gripped Sparrow´s hand. “You do look Ill. We need to get you off this rooftop and somewhere warmer.” Without even allowing Sparrow to react, Kenta pulled him away and ushered him towards the rooftop door. “Why am I doing this? “ His mind kept falling back to that question as he forced the younger male to follow him.
