He can be sarcastic and sometimes heartless but he doesn't mean to be. Unfortunately he can't control his emotions that well and making jokes is a way to pull himself together.
History: Amy Hail had died giving birth to Ash in July, 1994. Ash was never told the exact location where he was born. After his birth his father, Benjamin Fletcher blamed Ash for what had happened to the love of his life. Ash's mum. Ben had raised Ash till he was at least three years old without showing love or compassion for him, when it came to his fourth birthday Ben had stopped looking after him. Depriving him of love most his childhood, Ben had substituted that for drinking and having friends over while Ash had learned to look after himself and his father while Ben had his head down the toilet most nights. Ash had grew to hate him gradually over the years. It even effected his school work when he was old enough to go to school, lashing out at classmates, not showing any emotion but anger for the world till one night he witnessed his dad viciously attacking a homeless man in a drunken rage, unfortunately for Ash being so young and seeing this for the first time he was frozen in fear, watching while his dad attacked a man who was then later to be found dead by a passing old woman. Unfortunately his dad got away with it, being a sheriff of the town and all he knew what to do to cover it up.
Aged 8, Ash had decided to turn his life around and aim for the best results at school, studying hard every night to pass exams and better himself and he eventually passed every exam that came his way with at least a 2 (Grade B) or a 3 (Grade C) and sometimes a 1 (Grade A). He excelled within the Gymnastics class within his year and began doing more advanced moves than the rest of the class. He was a fast learner and always pushed himself over the limit, sometimes to passing out or breaking bones. Four years had passed when the Viral outbreak happened in a small remote town in America call Raccoon City. It scared him that if it could happen to a small rural town like that then it could happen to him at any moment.
When Ash turned 16, the of legal age to work in Scotland, his father almost immediately put him in the force, almost like to follow in his footsteps but it made Ash's very being to retort and lurch at the thought of becoming like him. The monster that he was afraid of that is until he was required in a small town, not far from the main state in America and when he heard that places were available to take he couldn't have volunteered himself any quicker than he would hope. His father became angry and demanded that ash be held back and demoted. His request was denied. After Ash had left, all connections with his dad had been cut off. Ash was finally free but as time went on a greater threat had introduced itself to the world. Another Viral outbreak but for some reason, it posed more threat to him than he would ever had imagined. He wished he stayed in Scotland....
After being at the Police Academy in America for 3 years and passing his series of tests (after a year he took up a job there and ended up training wannabe officers) he focused on becoming a better police officer than his dad, despite his past with his dad he could never shake off the feeling that he was just following in his footsteps when all he wanted to do was show up his dad and basically tell him "You could've been like me!" and be proud of something but something never felt right. In 2011 he left the training academy and pursued his dream. To become the Chief of Police! This was going to take him alot of determination and studying but he was raring to go until when he took the test for it and failed he was in distraught. He had missed one vital thing and screwed up his chances!
When Ash had turned into his twenties and eventually regaining from his embarrassing fail, he imagined life would get better and fun for the most part! Drinking games with friends, parties. You know? The typical party theme that he had wanted before but everything went to hell when the viral outbreak came at large in 2012! All those years before of training, toning his mind, shaping his body for any given situation but not like this. He wasn't prepared for this and it began taking a toll on him. Mustering up his last strength he pushed himself above the problem and started taking a step at a time.
Introduction:
Tapping a pen, that he held in his right hand, repeatedly off of the wooden table that sat infront of him, he stared intently at it and it's rhythmic beat it resonated from the oak. ratatatatatatatatat! His blue eyes narrowing down to a slit, the beat almost coming to a halt. He was tired. He hadn't slept for two days straight, with all the chaos going on, sirens blaring and the faint sounds of screaming, moans and gunshots in the distance had kept him up in fear. He was scared that if he went to sleep he wouldn't wake up from his dark nightmare.
A loud bang went off nearby, shattering the windows and deafening Ash slightly. Recoiling and throwing himself back off of the chair he was sitting on, he crashed to the ground with a loud thud, the sweat from his brow flicking off into the air in an elegant manner and landing next to him, he held his ears tightly and let out a quiet groan, eyes scrunching up in pain as he felt the back of his head release a short spurt of blood, splashing up against the wall a foot away from him. Any closer to that wall and he would be a goner. The walls weren't as safe as he had hoped. Just before he had gotten to this poor excuse of an apartment he had faced a horde of the undead flesh eaters.
With no ammo left in his gun at the time and no time to reload he had ran from the horde that had chased him down a small and narrow alley way to a dead end. Thinking as quickly as he could he saw a ladder and headed for it, almost flying up them and through a broken window and into what appeared to be an old rustic apartment, riddled with dampness and nails sticking out of the floor and walls but it was better than nothing....It was his only hope of survival.
