It was a very good choice, and it was obvious that Sam had seen a handful of movies before, because he thought process made sense for their situation. Or maybe it was just being level headed, it didnt matter, Joseph wrote some details down onto a notepad, and then put it in his pocket. He had an idea for the two of them, but just had to run it through his contacts first, to make sure it would all work out. With this, it would be easy, and they could potentially have their paperwork in a day or two, but it would always take more time if the both of them wanted to choose their names. Truthfully, it didnt matter, because it was for mostly paperwork reasons if they were going to be staying off the grid.
"Abigail and Joel Clark, from Nebraska. Let me make some calls, and ill let two relax. Im sure its been a rough last few days. You can both stay here until the paperwork is processed. Take whatever food you had and cook it up if you want, should have everything you need in the kitchen. Just give me a couple of hours." With that, Joseph stood up from the chair, and went into the room besides the stairs. He was confident that Edward would be fine with the name he selected, as he would probably use an alias anyways. Where as Sam needed her own name because if she wanted to enroll in local school, shed be able without worry.
It took a little bit of time, but Edward managed to wash his leather jacket by hand completely. His undershirt had been sweaty, that was about it. The longsleeve was thrown out, and his jeans had same treatment as his jacket. The problem he thought about now, which was much less a problem then anything he couldve possibly went through in the city, is if they were going to be getting new identities, his old creditcard information wouldnt be valid anymore, rendering all of his money useless. His family had been fairly wealthy, and there was no way he was even going to see them again as it was. The Baranaby family would be no more, and he was starting things from scracth now.
Stepping downstairs, he saw Sam sitting down on the couch, and mumbling coming from the door next door to the living room, figuring Joseph was in there talking. "So, what did he have to say?"

Sam had been contemplating what she would be doing with her new life and identity when Edward came back down the stairs. He had caught her by surprise, and she nearly jumped when he spoke. She nodded to the room where Joseph had gone, and spoke.
"We are just getting our new identities. I hope you like farm country Mr. Joel Clark, because you and I are going there. I guess I'll have to get used to being called Abigail now. But I might just let you keep calling me Sam. Maybe that can be my middle name now."
She looked towards the kitchen, wondering about Reylene. What was she going to do now? Was she going to stay here, or was she going to get a new life somewhere else as well?
"Edward, I'm going to check on Reylene. I don't want to leave here not knowing what is going to happen to her. We have a few days before we can get our new identities, we might as well get comfortable. I'm getting a real meal, you want anything from the kitchen? And don't say 'cheerleader surprise' or I'll find some pom-pom's to hit you with."

I was almost bizzar, needing new identities. But what was even more bizzar was the humor, they actually had the peace to bring out some entertainment without worry. Edward was never really much for humor, but this was something good. In all honesty, he was looking forward to getting to know Sam, aside from her skills that could be applied to a dangerous situation. Maybe it was the fact he never had kids, or any desire to have kids, and thought of her to be the daughter he never had. Even though she was going to be a niece, because the two didnt look anything like eachother. It made more sense for their story.
Edward almost forgot about Rey, who was already in the kitchen at the time. He followed Sam, not wanting to just sit on the couch and stay quiet, and hoped there would be at least a chair to sit down in. Around the table, one of them, but as he went around the table to sit down, thats when he noticed the blood. Reylene had been laying on the floor, blood pooling for her arm now, obvious cut marks from a knife that lay in her other hand. "Sam grab her!" Edward ordered, pulling the table out from the wall.

"Damn! Lift her legs, we have to keep her conscious!"
Sam grabbed for a dish towel on the counter, holding it to the girl's wrist and putting pressure on it, trying to keep her from losing any more blood. She used her other hand to check for a pulse at her neck, wanting to make sure she still had a heartbeat. The girl must have cracked, and just couldn't stand surviving another day. Not everyone was made to survive a zombie outbreak apparently, something she thought she'd never say aloud.
"We need to get her to a hospital, or somewhere that can help her. All we can do is control the bleeding here."

The one who spung into action the most had been Sam, she always seemed to know exactly what to do. Edward wasnt much for medical practice, aside from the basics, but this was out of his knowledge besides stopping the bleeding. But he wasnt stupid, if her viens were cut, then there wasnt going to be anything they could do, even if they seen her do it. But he stayed quiet, and kept her feet elevated, waiting for Sam to give an order, but if their hispital was the only choice, they wouldnt make it in time. If Edward didnt at least try to do something, then what?
Grabbing her, Edward lifted her up, barely managing to do so with his own unjury. "Get Joseph, I cant do this." He was surprised he hadnt heard them in all the shouting, but thats when he did show up in the doorway, looking at the scene. He wasnt shocked though, just disappointed. "Put her down, theres nothing we can do." Without even having much of a choice, Edward placed the teen to the floor. he wasnt able to lift her out of the kitchen. "Come on, we can just give up! We have a truck not far from the house, through the woods, we can get her to Stoneville. We have to try."
But Joseph waant having any of he. He just knelt down on the floor, looking at Rey. Her wrist had stopped bleeding, and Edward didnt know if that was a good thing or a bad thing, but Joseph wasnt doing anything. He just gave up. Before either Sam nor Edward could say anything else, Joseph had wiped away the blood from her arm to show them the cut had been healed. Not healed, almost like it wasnt even there. "What the hell is going on?"

Sam looked at the other girl's wrist, and wiped more blood from the area where the wound had been. It was gone. She wasn't cut, wasn't hurt at all. What the hell was going on? Was she hallucinating?
"What the hell is going on here Joseph? Is this some kind of sick joke? She was bleeding, we all saw it. I was trying to stop her from bleeding out."
She checked the girl's wrist again, then placed two fingers on Reylene's throat, trying to find her pulse the way her father had taught her. She pressed lightly on her neck, trying to find the slight thumping she knew should be there. Unless the girl was dead, there should be one.

After a few minutes, Joseph had all of the blood cleaned up, and he placed his daughter onto the bed in her room upstairs. When he came back down, he knew that he would have to explain this to them, there was no way around it. And he would have to tell them everything. Maybe this was a good idea, considering Edwards former occupation. Maybe he would continue it, amybe he wouldnt, but something told him after everything thats happened and now what hes about to hear, theres no way he wouldnt stop.
He began cleaning the kitchen up, and explained things as best he could. "Surprised you havent experienced this yet, coming from Raccoon City. The virus did some strange things to people, theres no doubt about that, and it was obvious that Relenes father had been working with Umbrella, right? She was a product of experimentation. Her real father protected her from it, but when the outbreak happened, he couldnt do that any longer." Mopping up blood had been common at this point. In the last two days alone, he cleaned this kitchen three times.
"People like Rey, honestly we have no word for them other than being special, arent human anymore. Its impossible to tell whether or not the virus is going to eventually merge with her body as she heals, only time can tell. She was experimenting, when she shouldnt have been. I told her it wasnt a game, it was something she only should use when she needed it, because people shouldnt know this. People shouldnt know a lot of things, but this is something behind a viral incident." Maybe he was being clear enough, maybe he wasnt, but it didnt matter because he only knew what he knew, which wasnt all that much
"She was given the ability to rapidly heal. Obviously, its gonna take some time, cause she lost a lot of blood, but when she comes to she should be fine." Joseph knew that Edward and Sam wouldnt find this too crazy, considering all they seen so far. "Dont think I need to say this, but im going to anyways. You need to just forget everything, and move on. Just because im stuck in this world, doesnt mean you have to be. And after you leave here this evening, you shouldnt come back here again. Youll need to make a trip to Stoneville, but then id advise going to Nebraska as soon as possible, if not tonight."

Sam wasn't really taking in what Joseph was telling them. She was expected to believe that Reylene slit her wrists just to see if she would heal from it? That was absolutely insane. But, it fit in with all of the insanity around them. She had just picked a new name and location to live. So someone that could heal from nearly anything fit right in.
"So, how long is it going to take for her to heal? I mean this is...this is a lot to take in you know? It's like something out of a bad movie. Are there going to be a hundred of her running around next?"

Edward certainly thought it was crazy, but he was more interested then freaked out though. His question was the same as Sams, only he knew it didnt really matter all too much, because they might not be around too long. "Depends on her bloodloss, from what I figured out so far. Shes already healed, just sleeping. Overexerted herself. I seen two others like her. Not like her in just the healing sense, the other two were stronger and faster as well, the virus merged with their body even more." Interesting as it was, Edward heard enough, and was looking to just move things along as this point. He didnt want to get involved, and Joseph could see that. "Sam, were leaving. This is too dangerous, your not even sure about all of this are you?"
Much as he wanted to be in control of the situation, Joseph really hadnt been the one in control since he step foot into the city. He just had seen more, but also experienced more in his past. This was all new to him too, and he didnt have the questions. If Edward was eager to leave, then he was eager to send them on their way. "Stoneville Library. You can login using this, and access the email attached to it to print out your new information. Take that paperwork to the Department of Justice, tell them your old credentials were lost in your home in Raccoon City, im sure youll think of something."
Looking at Sam, he took the peice of paper, and placed it in his pocket. "Were not riding into town in the rangers suv, do you have another vehicle we can borrow?" Joseph nodded, but came up with a solution. "Leave it, you can hike to Stoneville, shouldnt take you longer than an hour. Itll be safer that way, with the public traffic. Might even be able to hichhike, now that you have clean clothes. Though id leave the guns if I were you..." That made sense. The only thing they were taking was Sams bag. "Right. Sam, lets go. Its still early." But before Edward got to the door, Joseph stopped him, handing over a wallet, which was pretty bulky. "Seven thousand. Should be more than enough to get the both of you started." He respected the need to rush things along, and knew that a thank you had been implied by the nod. "Take care of yourselves."

Sam left the shotgun, revolver and one of the pistols behind. She clutched onto the other Beretta, refusing to hand it over or leave it behind. She had placed it back in her backpack, all the way at the bottom so it wasn't easily seen.
"This was my father's pistol. I'm not leaving it anywhere."
The massive amount of money they had been given, as well as the falsified documents, meant that they were ready to move on. But what about Reylene? Would she be safe with Joseph? Certainly someone was going to be looking for her if Umbrella had been experimenting on her. Or maybe they thought she had died in the destruction of the city. She voiced her concern to Edward as they were leaving, hoping she was just being nervous, and that the girl would be fine. She didn't know how many people had made it out of the city, and she wasn't going to let Umbrella kill anyone else if she could help it.

It was a good idea. Edward didnt take his, but instead, Sam would have one in her backpack, should they need it for anything. Plus, it was a good memory. Or a bad one, depending on how she looked at it. Hopefully Sam didnt look at it too much. The pair left, walking through the woods, and back to the truck. Edward knew that when they got to Stoneville, they could take a train closer to Nebraska. They didnt even need to worry about making0 it through security with the paperwork, but if any problems came up, they could get them out of the way. Explain the lie. But he hoped everything would work out, and Sam would be on her way to living the rest of her life.
The train depot was quiet, not very big. It was good they werent going too far away, both States being in the Midwest, but far enough away to where they wouldnt have to worry about being part of the city anymore. Inside the terminal, it seemed all that was on TV had been the Raccoon City Incident, and now nearly a whole sis hours after its destruction, nobody came to any conlusions. Any real ones. A military accident, and the unit involved has been suspecnded from duty. It was a lie, obviously, it wasnt an accident, but it was covered up well enough. Edward was going to uncover more of this truth, and he was going to do it on his own time. Knowing more then most people should, he had the advantage of looking at this whole thing from another angel.
