Appearance Cindy is slender, her almost almond-shaped eyes appearing larger than normal due to her thick glasses. Her shoulder length hair is pulled back in a ponytail, and her pale complexion from being inside makes her appear less Asian, and more Caucasian like her mother. even though she is usually a neat freak, her clothing are covered in blood due to a close encounter with one of the undead.
History Cindy's parents came from Taiwan in the early 90's, her mother an American engineer, her father a Chinese computer programmer. While she didn't inherit her father's computer skills, she did become quite the mechanical prodigy. Combining her intelligence, hard work and natural skills, Cindy managed to skip two grades, graduating top of her class at 16 from high school. This, with a nearly perfect SAT test score, ensured she would be able to go to whatever college she wanted.
Her parents let her decide what school she wanted to attend, sending her on several trips by herself to view potential colleges all over the country. Their view was that since she had made the grades and done all of the hard work, she would be more than capable of choosing where to continue her academic career.
Touring a small college in Louisiana with a rather impressive engineering department, her visit was interrupted by the viral plague spreading through the state. Students and parents were either running, or being eaten alive by the dead people, as she has now begun to call them. Hiding inside the computer lab alongside a dozen other people, she waited out the worst of the outbreak. With access to the Internet before it went down, she was able to find out some information concerning the virus and what it did to people. She also found out how to kill the dead people, although she would try to avoid coming in contact with them at all if it was possible.
Once food started to become an issue, it was decided that they would attempt a breakout. using a fire ax she had found in the hallways, she used it to break her way through the few infected that were still on campus. She didn't know what had happened to the others, everyone scattering once the doors were opened. She found an open SUV, thankfully with keys and a full tank of gas, and started driving back to Georgia. If she could get to her parents and make sure they were alright, she knew they could all find a way to survive the outbreak.
Introduction The clunking and knocking sounds coming from the engine was a bad sign. Cindy swore as she maneuvered the car onto the shoulder, resting her head on the steering wheel. A faulty gauge had failed to alert her to the overheating engine, and now that she could see the white smoke pouring from under the hood she knew there was nothing she could do to repair it. Not with the items she had on hand. Looked like it was time to start walking.
She debated turning on the hazard lights, and chuckled to herself as she exited the vehicle. There weren't any other drivers on the road, and the only thing the bright lights would do is attract any of the dead ones in the area.
Opening the back of the SUV, she grabbed the camping backpack, along with the fire ax that had been her savior. She didn't know who the owners were, but they must have been planning on one serious backpacking trip. She tried to ignore the empty baby seat in front of her, and closed the doors with the keys still inside. It's not like the dead were going to fix the car and drive it off.
Shouldering the pack, she started walking down the road, hoping to find a way to get out of the rain. She needed to find shelter, and either a working phone to try and call her parents again, or a vehicle. Preferably both. After a few miles of empty road, she found a dirt path that hopefully led to something. She was so excited to find the empty plantation home that she ran nearly all the way to the front door. Her luck was finally looking up!
