I just started playing this recently, and I'm of mixed opinions about it. All in all, the game looks very interesting...but I really don't like the item system. I'm the sort of person who tries to collect everything, and it's bad enough that characters are limited to six slots and certain weapons take up two slots without having to deal with dropping stuff, especially since I'm not sure that I'll be able to return to the train to pick it back up. Honestly, I like the attache case in RE4 much more, since it makes the game quite a bit more fun for pack rats like me.
So, I guess I'm asking for advice on how to properly use the space I have, since it's going to be highly annoying otherwise to keep from putting important items down.

Use one of the character's as a pack mule. Also, drop items by save points. This way after saving you can just pick up whatever you deem important for the next objective.

That's a good idea, and I'll definitely take it into account when I get back to playing.

But that's beside the point...Most Items appear near your characters when the train crashes...which is good because you'll find items that you didn't find the first time through the train...*Thinks about how he could've possibly missed the Hunting Rifle*...Also dont pick up puzzle Items until you know where they go, and only carry 1 thats right ONE health item...

Carry the Hookshot and put it next to the door in the astronomy lab.

RE4 was not crap it is one of the best games of all time, and also it had the best graphics. The only resident evil game that is better is RE2 because it has the 2 best characters in it Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy

I like Resident Evil Zero because the gameplay was really fun and the new partner system was really great. But i think that they should have switches Billy and Rebecca and put Claire and Leon

OK, either I'm dumb, or I just can't think straight... But I thought that Bravo's copter crashed on the same day (or night) when Alpha team was sent in to search for them. Not to mention the fact that in RE1: Rebirth, it seems as if Rebecca was starting to face zombies for the first time! Please, somebody, tell me what went first and what went last!

It was a small error on the part of the designers. RE1 was made back in the day as the original RE game. When RE0 came out, it was supposed to be the prologue to the RE1 Mansion Incident. Unfortunately, because of the timing of 1 and 0, 0, even though it was the prologue, didn't effect 1, as 1 had been made a long time prior to 0 and the changes were so small that they deemed 1 not worth altering again a third time. It had already been rereleased as Rebirth, but only to update the graphix. They didn't change the actual storyline for 1.
As such, Rebecca never had the experience of the 0 incident and 1 was her first encounter with the zombies and such, because she wasn't written in to have that experience in 1. So as far as I can tell, 0 is more like an Alterverse situation.
Wow, this is more complicated then I thought.

Perhaps you could say Becca was having trouble dealing with these things on her own now that Billy was gone. Or, maybe the events of Zero piled up and she finally broke under the pressure.
