Huge bookcases- six in total, line these walls and protrude out into the middle. They seem to be sitting on what looks like rails. They can easily be pushed, but it seems two out of the six are actually bolted down. There are four ladders that are attached as well as a few overturned desks and computer stations. It's pretty dusty in here and there isn't much to look at other than a few derelicts of time past. Unless you've come for reading material or research documents, there's not much else here.

John Farquhar had ran into the Police Department, and was running from four zombies, they were on his tail from the streets, they all had bitemarks on their neck and their clothes were ripped with there skin torn, John barged into the library, and closed the door behind him, he put a small table at the door, but he knew it wouldn't hold them back, he drew his golden desert eagle, when the zombies got through, he pulled the trigger, but the gun was not loaded.
"Damn, forgot to reload."
He couldn't reload in time, as a zombie plunged at him, he sidestepped and barged through the other three, he waited 'till all four was together, then tipped a large bookcase on top of them all, crushing them. He breathed heavily.
He loaded his Desert Eagle, he heard footsteps coming from the door area, and aimed his gun at the person walking in.
"FREEZE!"

Sly was walking along the streets of Raccoon city, searching for things of value that might help him endure his daily fight for survival. He now does this routinely, maybe three, four times a week, as life in the mountains can get extremely boring, for him at least. He was contemplating on whether to move out of the sh**hole the called a home when he came across RCPD. Something compelled him to go inside. Was it the will to survive? Or was it his insanity acting up again? Whatever reason it was, he started walking stealthily towards the entrance of the the police department, mindful of the walking dead around him. He held his machete in his right hand just in case...
As he slowly opened the doors, a plethora of beauty and destruction filled his eyes. Sly stood for a moment, absorbing everything. It was kind of nostalgic returning to the place where he used to work as a mechanic. But none of that mattered now, and so Sly started walking towards one particular door, one that lead to the Library of the building. Sly had the intention of getting a book, any book, so long as he can read it. Killing the monsters the filled the city was getting a bit tedious for him.
Very carefully, he slowly opened the doors so as not to alert anything that might be inside. Miraculously, he didn't make any noise as he opened the said door. Sly then walked inside the Library, unfortunately making noise with each footstep he makes. Out of the blue, he heard someone shout:
"FREEZE!"
Sly did what he was told, but did nothing else. He turned his head towards the one who shouted, who looked like someone with a military background, and gave him a wide, almost mischievous grin.
"And what might you be doing here in this god forsaken location? Aren't you supposed to be protecting someone who needs it?"
Sly gave a slight chuckle, as he sheathed his machete in it's sheath. His right hand was close to his revolver, in case something get's out of hand.

John stares on, looking, as he lowers the gun, he knows it's human, he looks angered.
"Don't tell me what i'm supposed to do. Who are you? You should be evacuated, come on I will escort you to the airport."
John walks to the door, then looks back.
"Come on."

"Don't tell me what i'm supposed to do. Who are you? You should be evacuated, come on I will escort you to the airport."
My my, this guy is some kind of hero. Well, I wish you luck mr. goody two shoes, and I hope you don't die a gruesome death...yet. Sly thought in his head. Sly then saw the man walk towards the doors that lead outside the library, but before he could leave, the man looked behind him and said:
"Come on."
Sly stood still, stared at the man with a smile on his face and gave a slight chuckle. This chuckle turned into an almost maniacal laugh, reverberating throughout the room and quite possibly the whole building. After another that laughing episode, his face suddenly turned very serious. He then said:
"You should introduce yourself first, no? That way I can know what to put on your grave if it ever comes to that."
Sly drew his revolver from it's holster, and apparently aimed at the man.
"You may not know this mr. hero, but I basically live...no, thrive here. So unless you find something that will amuse me if I come with you, I will never, EVER, return to a society of @ssholes."
He then pulled the trigger twice on his revolver. The bullet whizzed past the man's head, hitting the door of the library, generating a large, gaping hole in the process. The second bullet hit the head of a zombie, whose head burst into a fountain of blood and guts. The thing was stumbling towards the library doors, attracted by the noise that Sly made. Sly lowered his right arm, and then crossed both of his both arms.
"Call it survivors instinct."
Sly then observed at least 4 zombies lumbering towards the library doors, probably also attracted to the loud laugh of Sly. Sly paid no heed, and faced his current "companion'. Sly said:
"Now let's see you put that training of yours into use."
Sly stood in place, arms crossed. He smiled then gave another laugh, though this time it was in a more "normal" volume. This is gonna be one fun night! Sly thought, as his grin turned wider, more evil.

John raises his Golden Desert Eagle, and hits all four zombies in the head, instantly putting them to rest.
"Name's John Farquhar, Private John Farquhar, I don't play games. So don't try and play games with me, and don't act smart either, talk about introducing ourselves, who are you?"

[Amanda, Jake, and Clarissa enter]
Giving the bookshelf a shove from the front, it slid across the floor, along two sets of rails. It was really interesting, surely it wasnt just for decoration, but it didnt seem to have any other purpose. From her previous knowledge, this whole building used to be an art museum, but they did a good job rebuilding it after the outbreak. There more then likely wasnt much damage at all, seemed way to solid of a structure to be shaken up by a few zombies. As for the book, most of them had been torn from the shelves, and strew all over the floor. A violent struggle obviously took place in here.
"Amanda, how did you manage to survive? Werent you with another group at one point? No offense, or anything..." When Amanda heard Jake speak out in a curious tone, she didnt know exactly what to say. It was really a long story, and he wouldnt want to hear it all, honestly. But this was something she asked herself, how did she manage to stay alive all these years? She hadnt been with Joey and the others yet, she was on her own for the most part
"Well, while I was in the Arklay Mountains trying to find a friend of mine, I ran into an older man. He took me in his house, really seemed a little creepy at first. But he fed me everyday, had a place to sleep, everything. Thats where ive been for most of this outbreak, waiting for the others to find me. But, everything went haywire... And yeah, once again, I was left alone..." It was really the short version of the story, Amanda wasnt up for going into more detail, it was too late to change what already happened. Somethings are better left alone, she wanted to keep to herself, and just manage by. Who knows how long itll be before this outbreak is all contained, if it even gets contained this time at all.
Out of a little emotion, Amanda had gave the bookshelf a nudge with her shoulder, trying not to cry, to blow off a little steam. She slipped dont onto her backside, as the bookshelf seemed to move along the rails. Hitting her head, she looked up to see there was a small passage way leading under the stairs, but there werent any lights to see what was actually inside. Getting up to her feet, Amanda looked back at Jake and Clarissa, then flicked on the light clipped to her vest. "Hey, guys, look...!" Amanda said, pointing to the hidden room.

Clarissa gasped and slapped a hand on her knee. "I knew the fuzz couldn't be trusted!" she stated, jumping at the chance to peek inside. Jake grunted and grabbed her hood. "Hey, hey, hold on there, you don't know what could be in there," he said.
Clarissa groaned. "Yeah and we won't know unless we go check it out!" she whined. Jake helped Amanda off the ground and peered inside the passage way with his light flickering in. Unfortunately the crawlspace was too small for him. Probably enough room for one of the girls, but his shoulders were too wide and broad.
"Okay Amanda, Paper, Rock, Scissors on 1-2-" she stopped when the sudden noise of screeching came from within. The redhead scrambled upto the hidden area and stuck her head in, looking around.
"Hello!?"
'Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello..hello..lo..' ((lulz echoes))
"It's safe, just some echoing and possibly rats but it should be alright, let me go in guys! Please?" she asked.

Amanda shifted her head to the other side of the Library, toward the other section through another set of doors. Seemingly, the same screech could be heard from the doors. She wouldve only heard it because she was on that side of the others. It sounded like a person, but at the same time, and with all that crazy stuff she has seen in the last 14 years, she was prepared for the worst. Pulling out her 9mm handgun from his vest, Amanda looked back at the Clarissa and Jake, then spoke out in a smart manner. "I think I heard it from the other room, too. You stay with Clarissa while she goes in, im gonna go investigate..." It was obvious Jake didnt want her to go alone, but he could stop her...
Within a few moment, Amanda was already closing the door to the second portion of the library behind her. This room was a little darker, as there was no windows, meaning no light coming in from outside. But the power had been on in this place, so each of the reading lamps were, as well as a few of the ceiling lights. But the majority of them were burnt out, or surged since the outbreak started. Still holding the gun tightly, Amanda looked around the place, listening curiously for anymore sounds that would catch her attention.

[[ Ashton Richards Enters ]]
Walking up to the main doors of the library Ashton rubbed his left eye with his hand. It was as if some sort wood chip or something got in there and was irritating him. No matter he was more preoccupied with finding some sort of food, or life. Something that would make him feel less alone.
"You said there would be people here.." Ashton said to himself looking around with blurred vision. Someone kept telling him that there had to be someone here, and so far from what he could see there was no one in sight. Either way though he had to keep looking. Eventually he would have to run into something good or yummy. Preferably both.
Then out of nowhere Ashton heard a noise. This time he was certain it was real. Which was actually a little new for him. On guard he slowly opened the door infront of him peering in. Hearing footsteps he quickly shot in and hid underneath one of the tables in the room. Having no idea what it was he drew his Glock waiting to see if the one making the sounds of footsteps was dangerous or not.

Jake groaned and reached a hand out at Amanda to say something, anything, to keep the upset girl in his sights. As he did, Clarissa scurried up the small passageway, only the heels of her feet seen when he turned to look at her. Then they disappeared into complete darkness.
"Hey!" he shouted then abruptly groaned, running a hand through his hair. "Women," he grunted, looking through the secret passage with his flashlight. When he heard a faster set of footsteps padding passed him, he swirved around, but hadn't seen anyone.
"Amanda...?" he asked, moving forward but not too far away incase Clarissa needed help also.
Up in the passageway, Clarissa crawled through, cob webs matting her face and hair as the shaft had become almost slanted upward. It made it harder to crawl, but inevitably, she'd reached a small room.
"Jake! There's a tiny room in here!" she shouted down, pulling herself up. She took her flashlight out and shined it around. There was scribbles on the walls, some of it was illegible and the bits that weren't, were nothing more than Madness Mantra.
She lightly touched them and looked down at the knife on the ground that had to have been used to carve it. Slightly creeped out, she left it alone since she had her own knife anyways. Crawling around the area, she spotted a couple of burnt out candles and a blanket.
"The hell...? Someone camp out here? Musta been a panic room," she said lowly, tugging and pushing at the blankets with her flashlight. Upon movement, she'd seen a set of keys and a magazine. No gun, however.
"Sweet!" she called, pocketing both items. There were some squeaking and she looked into a corner to see a rat scurrying towards her and over her legs. Cringing, Clarissa screamed.
Down below, Jake had been standing above the table where the young man hid, tempted to look under it, he heard Clarissa's scream. "Clarissa!" he yelled, running back to the passageway.
There were loud thumping noises and then a 'whooshing' noise, followed by Clarissa sliding down the passageway and smacking backside into the ground. Jake ran up to her, pulling her off the ground. "Are you okay?" he asked, stifling a chuckle.
"Urgh, yeah, but wow did that hurt! Where's Mandy? We gotta show her the stuff I found! ...Eh? Who's that?" she asked, pointing at the boy under the table. He seemd almost frightened. Jake looked back and then down before crouching.
"Oh so you're the one making all that noise," he said.
Clarissa smiled. "Come on and out, we don't bite. Also, Mandy! Oh Mandy! Where are you?" she asked, looking around for their friend.

Ashton's eyes widened as he was spotted, he was terrified. The uncertanty of what would happen scared him but either way he had to face the ones who found him.
Taking a deep breathe he crawled out from underneath the table and stood up on the opposite side from the other people.
"Are they friend? Maybe.. Should we give them a chance? Yes. Talk to them? Not yet." Ashton began to question and answer himself, already showing these people his insanity.
All this sudden action was a little uneasing for Ashton though. His paranoia began to set in, and his throat became dry. Looking at his gun he pulled out the clip, and checked to make sure there were bullets still in it. Next after putting the gun back into his Jacket's pocket he pulled out his knife, and unseathed it to make sure the blade was still there.
After the checking of his weapons he then shuffled over wide eyed to look at the man. This man was much bigger then Ashton was and thats when memories of his brother kicked in, and his mental perception of what was going became distorted.
"Are you... My brother..?" He forced out choking slightly on the words. Everything was happening to fast, and Ashton could barely handle it. If something sudden and overwhelming was to happen in the next couple minutes Ashton may pass out. His breathing was heavy, and even after asking the question he constantly looked over his shoulder think something was behind him.

Jake, taken aback, had been slightly weirded out by this kid. Of course, the way he was acting, he figured it not very bright to bombard him with questions. "Um, no, I'm not your brother...uh, my name's Jake. Jake Farlund."
Clarissa squinted an eye and then shrugged, putting her hand to him. "And I'm Clarissa. Who might you be?" she asked.
Jake looked back at the door where Amanda had gone, wondering why the other young girl hadn't returned. "Think we can save the intros for later? We should go see if Amanda's alright," he said.
Clarissa nodded. "Yeah, we should. Anyway, your name?"

Ashton rubbed the back of his neck as he realized he was wrong in thinking the man was his brother. Slightly embarrassed he continued to look around paranoid and pay close attention to these people.
"Um.. Its.. Ashton. Yeah Ashton Richards." He forced out in reply to the question asked towards his name. Though he was still freaking out slighty. Just to say his name was a slight struggle just forcing those words out to strangers.
"Oh umm Clarisa.. Yeah Clarisa." He said quietly moving up close to her."I umm hear and see things that arnt there... Shhhhh." He whispered to her trying to keep it a secrete. Out of that entire group Ashton had chosen her to be the one he trusted. Barely knowing her to, but she also seemed the friendliest so far and he liked that.
