“Talking in your head?” He said after he was sure the mercenaries were gone. He was pretty sure this wasn’t the kind of thing they would want everyone in on. He thought for a moment, and then something popped into his head. His eyes betrayed the light that had gone off in his mind, and he looked at Elijha as he leaned against the wall beside her.
“Can you hear me?” He asked her, but not with his voice. He tried to think it to her. He had been implanted with devices in his time with NADAS that allowed for thoughts to be transferred to others with the same implants. Maybe Wolfe had gotten them, and put them into her and himself. Maybe… It would certainly explain a lot, and if it worked, that would mean he could do the same thing with her.

Malcom snapped awake slightly gasping into the mask and tube, he looked around as best he could without moving his head assuming that he should keep as still as possible.
"Wasn't I sitting down a minute ago?"
A medic passing looked over his notes.
"That was some time ago and before Rio called us in, seems you broke a few ribs recently and didn't get treated."
"That can't be right." Malcom considered.
"Did you recieve any blunt force trauma to the torso in the last week?"
"............kinda." Dr Wolfe hit like a nazi frieght train apparently, as did the cave monster. "How bad is it?"
"Better than it could be, everything was just putting pressure on your breathing, no internal damage. You should be up in no time."
"Thanks, and thanks for calling them in Rio." He gave her hair a ruffle. "I was supposed to be watching you."

A sharp pain coursed through Elijha's head as Daniel's voice echoed through it just like her father's. Without thinking she hit Daniel in the arm as she stood up grabbing her head. "Don't. . ." she said breathlessly as she feel against the wall. "Please . . . don't do . . ." It then dawned on her that Daniel didn't have the virus in him anymore, and he was still able to talk in her head. She looked up at him through her teary eyes. "How?" she asked as she slid down the wall still gripping her head tightly.
----------------------------------
Rio smiled weakly as she looked at Malcom. "You should have told someone," she said lightly as she looked at him. She reached up and took his hand that he patted her on the head with and patted it herself. "You try and get some rest. I need you all better," she said with a smile as she slid her chair closer. "I'm not going anywhere for a while."

Daniel groaned slightly when Elijha punched him in the arm.
“That’s still a bit sore.” He said with a pained voice. Really sore, but he wasn’t going to tell her that. She felt bad enough.
“It’s not any kind of magic or bullcrap of his making. It’s a technology he acquired or stole. Implants in the brain that link to each other. They allow people to share thoughts.” He explained.
“That means that he doesn’t have any kind of hold over you. He doesn’t have a connection to you. He has a glorified phone number for you. And what do you do when a stalker has your phone number? You change it.” He asked and answered. Things usually weren’t this simple, but would it be so much to ask that they be this simple this time?

"Maybe I should have told, but I didn't really notice myself, plus I'm the badass. I'm not supposed to get wounded or take recovery time."
Malcom breathed deep for a few minutes watching the ceiling as the shadows of everyone coming in and out of the room were cast.
"So what did I miss? You were supposed to be in bed warming up for one thing. Hope you're feeling better, you're like the little sister of the group y'know?" He got a little drowsy. "Me and Danny, we gotta take care of you, cos Art, she's such a dummy firing us like she did. and that Wolfe guy....he's got a really fat head don't he? Think we could get some booze in here?"

Rio laughed a bit as she listened to Malcom. "I would say no for right now. Your starting to sound a bit drunk as is." She patted his arm before she stood up. Walking over to the cabnites she grabbed a needle and some morphine. "As for being the little sister I feel a bit spoiled here," she said as she looked back at him. "Both you and Daniel have spoiled me for a long time even when we were on the train." She walked over and sat down beside him. "Your morphine shot will wear off in a little bit so I'm prepared," she said as she drew up the liquid into the needle. She smiled lightly as she watched him struggling to stay awake. "As for being tough. You can still be tough and get hurt. That's why your little sister is here to take care of you." She reached over and gave him the shot, and sat back in the chair. "Now get some well deserved sleep, and I'll be right here when you wake up."
------------------------------------------
"Changing the phone number?" she asked with a grin. "That's a bit harder to do in this situation." She sat down on the ground beside him again. "Sorry about hitting you. I know that must have hurt more than you let on." She looked around the hall and then back to him. "What are you doing up anywise? Not that I'm not grateful for your company, but you should be relaxing and letting your body heal." She pulled her knees to her chest, and wrapped her arms around them. "Well one thing I know he can't sneak in and listen in on our conversations. My head will let me know," she sighed a bit. "Rather painfully anywise." She looked at him. "We should get you on to bed."

“If you want it removed, it would be a simple surgery. When I had mine put it, it took them an hour. It’s in the back of your neck, it plugs into a nerve in your spine.” Daniel told her. “No so much changing your number as ripping your phone off the wall and throwing it out the window, but it’s the same effect.” He said with a smirk. He ignored her insistence that he go find a bed to lie down in. Her problem was a bit more pertinent than his.
“Or, if you want, I can help you.” He said, remembering the ‘room’ in the brain of the owner of the implant. “I can get into your head, we can try to block him.” He suggested. He was sure there was some kind of control panel inside that would effect the implant.

"Help me?" she asked lightly as she looked at him. She shook her head when she recalled the pain from him even talking to her. "How? It hurts when you even attempt to talk to me in my head." She relaxed a bit and let her head rest against the wall. "Just tell me. What I know can he find out?"
-----------------------------------
Rio smiled a bit as Malcom continued to sleep. She wanted to return to work, but found that she was still tired. She draped a blanket over him, and then grabbed her own. She pulled up a cot, and climbed in it. Resting her head in her arms. She closed her eyes and it wasn't to long before she drifted to sleep.

Deep down in the labs where no one had yet to explore. A room well below the surface had a whole in the wall. Except the whole lead into a dark cavern to be exact one of the tunnels to which the Beast had retreated to. Though now the creature was no longer a monster, but a mere child who laid on a make shift bed that she had pulled out of her tunnel. Once the heat had come on in the building she had made her way into the room to make up for the dampness she had to live since winter had come to the mountains.

“Well…” Daniel said, thinking about it for a moment. “Ya, he can.” He said. He was thinking if he could sugar coat it for her, but he couldn’t. She needed the truth.
“Tell me. Do you have a ‘special place’ that you go to? Somewhere you go when you dream, maybe when you black out?” He asked her. He remembered the rooms that were the inside of people’s subconscious. You could go back and relive any memory, search your deepest thoughts for something.
“I have an idea. Lay back, and concentrate on me.” He said. He didn’t know how to tell her how they could link the implants, but he figured it would be easier on her to try and get inside his head than the other way around.

Elijha nodded as she did. Laying back against the wall she closed her eyes and thought about Daniel. Surprisingly she realized that she didn't see darkness, but white. When she focused she could see Daniel standing next to a door. He opened the door and showed her his room along with all the files left of his memories. He explained to her how the room worked, and how to protect it from others invading in it. She was quite surprised that something like this could exist in one's mind. Daniel lead her out of his room, and they walked in the whiteness.
The closer they got to her door the more her head started to hurt. She shook it off as just not use to something like this. As they reached another door Daniel told her to open it. As she reached for the door a sharp pain coursed through her arm, but she quickly pushed it off. Opening the door she stepped into a bare looking room. Walking further into the room a sharper pain coursed through her head causing her to scream out in pain. She gripped the sides of her head as she hit her knees.
As Daniel moved to Elijha Dr Wolfe stepped out of no where. "Did you really think that you could show her away to get away from me?" He laughed as he looked at Daniel. "I've had quite some time to perfect this technology. She will never be able to keep me out of her head, and you will never be able to protect what should be dead."

Daniel wasn’t surprised to see Wolfe there. Odds were, he would know when someone else was poking around the implant with Elijha. He’d done his best to talk her through everything, he’d shown her the inside of his own mind. But the pain followed her. That told him something, in and of itself.
He looked at Dr. Wolfe and pulled out the gun that was still holstered at his side. He aimed and fired a shot, and was shown what he already knew. Nothing happened to Wolfe. He lowered the gun, aiming it at his own leg, and fired. Same result. Nothing. Dropping it onto the ground, he ignored Wolfe and bent down next to Elijha. He had an idea.
“Elijha. Stand up. He cant hurt you here. What your feeling now is all in your mind.” He said, putting a hand on her shoulder to try and reassure her. He looked around and started to look around the memories that were stored here.
“Think you’re the only one with these implants Wolfe?” Daniel said absently over his shoulder. He wasn’t afraid of a figment of someone’s imagination, which was all Wolfe amounted to to him. He flipped through books of memories, not reading anything to keep Elijha’s privacy. What he was looking for was something that didn’t belong. Something that Elijha didn’t put here.
“In here, your just white noise. A bad dream. You don’t scare me, and soon, you wont scare her either.” He said, finding something that fit the bill. It wasn’t in Elijha’s print. It wasn’t even a memory, wasn’t intelligible words. It looked more like computer codes. The backdoor into her implant.
“Now… What would happen if we shredded this?” He said with a satisfied smirk, holding the file up.

Child sat on her makeshift bed staring out at the whole that lead to the cave. Her mind still wrapping around the strangers that had invaded onto her home. The sealed door that hadn't opened since she entered the building swung open as one of the mercenaries entered into the room. He stood there a bit baffled on what he was seeing. Child took the chance and let out a scream that caused him to grab his ears, but her scream turned into a loud roar that echoed through the building. As beast it charged the man slamming him against the wall. It roared again as it grabbed a hold of the man's shoulder and arm and ripped them apart. He cried out, but it was short lived as his neck was snapped.
-------------------------------------
"No!" Wolfe called out, but disappeared as soon as Daniel ripped the papers in half he disappeared. Not even a second later the papers seemed to disintegrate in his hands.
Behind him Elijha let out a heavy sigh as she laid down on the floor. She still clutched the sides of her head, but her body relaxed a bit more. It took a bit before she opened her eyes again. With Daniel's help she sat up on the floor, but didn't go anywhere else. She looked around the room, and then to Daniel. "Is that . . ." she trailed off as she heard something, but it wasn't in her head. She looked around as the roar seemed to echo louder. This time it was followed by a blood curdling scream. Elijha looked around trying to figure out where it was coming from.

“Afraid so…” He muttered, looking toward the sound. He grabbed onto Elijha and concentrated for a moment, finding himself back to the real world. Regrettably, his legs were still broken…
“Dammit.” He muttered, feeling the pain come back to him. He made his way to his feet with the help of the crutches and reached for his radio. He called to the mercenaries that the thing they had fought outside was in the complex, somewhere past the labs. The last thing they needed was for it to get inside. They had to find a way to kill this thing. He reminded them to use water to hurt it and looked back toward Elijha.
“You up for round two?” He asked her.

Malcom woke hearing the roar, pulling off his blanket and rushing out tearing out the wires from the vital signs monitor attached to him as he left, ignoring the flatlining as he met with one of the mercenaries outside. He tried to keep up breathing deep.
"It's the thing from the caves right?"
"Sounds like it, any advice?"
"Radio this in," Malcom ordered as the man relayed it to others. "Use the fire doors to seal off every side corridor, get someone in the security room ready to use the fire suppression to herd it if necessary. Fire extinguishers, the water kind for everyone near them. and get that feeding tank room ready, we may need it for more than homemade booze."
He stopped at a supply room and pulled the door open, finding a large bottle of water used for refilling an office cooler, he tucked it under his arm as he continued walking.
"and....what's the plan for that? Didn't your lung collapse sir?"
"Probably, I've missed a few hours so we'll ask later. For now...well, you've seen jaws right? Get ready to start blasting."
They heard the monster around the corner from them. Malcom rolled the bottle to the end of the corridor and the mercenary steadied his rifle, opening fire as the creature got close enough and spraying the contents everywhere.

Rio sat up at the sound of Malcom running out of the room. She looked around tiredly as she rubbed her eyes. The roar of the creature filled her in on what was happening. She looked around the room before heading out into the hallway. She looked up to see Elijha helping Daniel up the hall toward the sound. She knew she wasn't must of a fighter so she stayed back.
-------------------------------------
Elijha and Daniel finally reached Malcom and the others as the water exploded. "Nice," she said as she looked at Malcom. "An aren't you suppose to be on bed rest?" She looked up just as the creature retreated down the hall. "That's not good," she said as she ran off down the hall, but as she turned the corner the creature was gone. "That's not good at all." She looked at the others. "We need to split up and find this creature."
--------------------------------------
Rio had made her way back into the lab waiting for the others to return. She knew well enough they would know where she was. Since they had arrived she barley stepped foot out of the lab. She turned just as the door to the lab opened, and to her surprise a young girl was standing in the doorway. She looked at Rio with a slight grin. She looked like a normal child with her hair covering half her face. Though when Rio looked closer she could see beneath the hair it hidden a portion of her face that had been burnt off.
Stepping back she realized that this child may have something to do with the creature that ran around. She looked for a way to run, but there wasn't any except for the hidden passage. She took off toward the shelf to open the door and a high pitched scream echoed through the room. It instantly brought her hands to her ears as she cried out. The pain coursed through her head, and even over the scream she could hear the shattering glass of the beakers, vials, and cabinets. The pain just continued to grow even worse she could feel the blood dripping from her ears even as her hands held them shut as tightly as she could.
Looking up she struggled to stay on her feet, and she watched as the child moved closer to her. She could feel her world spinning and surprising the scream stopped, but darkness also took her as she collapsed to the ground. She hit hard as she fell unconscious leaving child to loom over her body.
