"No-yeah. There's gotta be someone still here who caught wind of them," Kit replied, half slouching in his seat as he looked out at the restaurant, hooking his shades onto his jacket pocket, "This place still has a company occupying it. Maybe the same of that night," the corner of his mouth pulled back sour, "There were a whole Boulevard full of combatants 'tween here 'n' the convention centre. I don't see why they'd be hanging round the front lines unless striking some sorta business with the on site CO," the sniper figured if it were the case, it linked the suspects right into the conflict.
"How can I help you?"
The waitress had snuck up on them, pen and pad in hand, "Could I get a be-"
"Some of the refrigeration is out after the Vegas power grid was damaged. We've had to use reserves on chiller storage. As a result alcohol and beverages haven't been kept cold."
Christ, lukewarm beer. Kit was hoping to soak up something a little less potent than whiskey after his morning grog, "Ah, I'll just have a water then. And..." he flicked open the menu and browsed for a half second before making a decision, "A couple porterhouses well done. Thanks."

“I’ll take a beer, please.” Mike said. He wasn’t picky. Warm beer was just as good, when you got used to it. Or, in his case, when half of the time all he could taste was ash. She let out a small smile and went to go get their drinks, Mike taking out his notepad once again. He studied it for a moment and looked back to Kit.
“Witnesses say they saw the girl do a lot of talking to one Colonel Clausland. Seeing as he’s dead right about now, according to every news report and witness statement… We’re gonna need to find new leads.” He said. He looked at the waitress as she came back with two glasses, setting them next to each man and Mike looked at her. Had to start somewhere…
“Excuse me miss.” He said, motioning for her to stop a moment. “We’re looking for a few people. Wanted to know if you happened to see them around the time of the attack. Three of them. Blonde woman, big bald guy, smaller guy with a bad scar.” He said. She shrugged and shook her head.
“Sorry, never saw them. You’ll wanna talk to the PMC guys.” She said, walking away. Mike looked to Kit with a shrug as he took a sip of his beer.
“Well, we know they didn’t stop for a bite.” He said lightly.

"Hope that ain't a foreshadowing of bad food!" Kit said toward Mike's humorous comment.
It was around the same time a posse of men entered the restaurant, the gentleman in lead clearly superior while his guards trailed behind, "Christ, who's this bozo," Kit whispered under his breath to Mike, "Looks like he stepped right outta 1885 London," taking in his choice of apparel, the top hat causing the fat cat to appear far taller than he already was.
Moustachio chose a table close by, hailing the waitress, "Damn," Kit chuckled before leaning in, "Hope the aristocracy doesn't smitten the girl enough to postpone our meal," in the Sniper's periferal vision he caught the newcomer looking over at their table, chancing a glance to confirm the top had man was indeed acknowledging them through sight.
A bulldozer .500 hung at his side made to antagonize, Kit couldn't help spotting it, "If you're looking for the war, pal, you just missed it," he called across to the top hat's table. The guy was too much of a stand out oddball stranger to pass up chatter; He didn't particularly look to fit in with the Vegas style so all likelihood fit him in the 'tourist' realm, thus making him a potential for information of the Interpol and CIA agent's investigation.

“Guess we’ll find out.” Mikey retorted to Kit’s comment about bad food. He wasn’t gonna turn down a steak, no matter what. Then again, he had a high tolerance for bad taste. All he could taste most days was ash.
He took a look at the man when Kit pointed him out, cocking an eyebrow at the top hat on his head. Turning back and pulling out his phone, he pushed a few buttons and slid it to Kit.
“His name is Fredrick Kaiser. Former chairman of the board for Smith & Wesson. Took over a factory and built his own complex, continues to put out weapons.” Mike said. He knew about him, he’d done a bit of investigating on the man a few years back. The government had been a bit nervous, understandably, and wanted him checked out before they tried to deal with him. Mike hadn’t found anything. What he had found was the guy could be pretty arrogant sometimes, but that was nothing new. Then again, he had never met the man in person.
He didn’t say anything when Kit called out to him. He did look back, saw the guards with their hands in their jackets. That was never good. They were either plenty paranoid or they had it in their heads to start something. Mike, not to be outdone, slipped the Glock 19 from the back of his belt into his lap, all of the actions hidden by the table and his chair. Be a lot quicker than drawing his 34.

Nodding his head in spite as Mike explained who the man was to him, almost half shaking the reponse wanting to call the CIA guy a show off after proving Kit had inferior intel over the situation. It looked as if he had done more than just grab the arms dealer's attention, "Woops, looks like Fredrick Tophat is on his way over," what was a man like this doing in Vegas after such arn armed conflict? The Interpol agent guess the tech the extremists had on them would be one such subject.
Kaiser asked to join their fine company, "We're the finest company you're gonna get. C'nsidering we're the only folk in here," Kit giggled after being called lawmen. Kaiser really was from the 19th century, "I don't think it would be a problem. Would it, Mike?" he asked his partner opposite him with a fake look on perplexion. They both knew this arms dealer was a candidate for questioning, so the answer were more or less obvious making the query pointelessly time wasting.
A rise in tension seemed to fill the air which Kit wasn't entirely fond of. Mike definitely didn't enjoy the look of Kaiser's guards, and Kit didn't blame him. The sniper reached over to another table and plucked a menu, handing it to Fredrick, "Can't imagine a man carrying so much prestige going without a meal. Hope you like warm beer."

Mike took a look back when Kit mentioned that the Tophat was coming, his hand going to his lap for a moment. It eased slightly when he saw the guards stay back, but not by much. It wouldn’t be the first time in the past month that someone had tried to kill him. People with their hands in their pockets made him very, very nervous…
“Nope, no problem at all.” Mike said, obviously distracted. He was still looking around. He made eye contact with the two bodyguards, and it was clear that he wasn’t going to take anything from them.
“You know, people like me, we get nervous when we see that.” Mike said, jerking his head toward Fredrick’s guards. “Anyone wanted you dead and they were walking around like that, it would just mean they would come at you from another direction.” He said. The best way to be armed was so that no one else knew you were armed.
“Tell your boys to go have a Coke and a smile, you don’t need them right now.” Mike said. That part was just as much a rule as paranoia. You never let suspects stay together for interrogation. Nowadays, everyone was a suspect and a dinner conversation was an interrogation in Mike’s book.

Kit remained indifferent about the friction. A carefree attitude stemming from his generation; the sniper let the two old bulls have a row over principals. Meanwhile the waitress returned to the table with his water, Mike's beer, and whatever the gunsmith had ordered, "Thankyou," he beamed, sneaking a peek at her tail feather as she walked away while downing a gulp.
Fredrick brought up the sinkhole which pulled Kit's attention back on topic. He nodded, "As a matter of fact my partner and I just happen to be investigating the happenings here. Kinda hopin' you might know something about it, if anything," he shrugged, "Considering we don't have a lot at that."
Placing his glass down on the table, Kit pulled his left cuff neat before asking, "Might be a long shot. Were you here at all when the firefights started?" the global detective started cold. Rather than spilling any information they already had he figured it was better to see what Fredrick knew first before backing up any ideas.

Mike eyed Kit for a moment, then turned his gaze back to Fredrick. He was pretty… He was being way too peppy right about now. Mike didn’t know it or not, but it seemed like he was going for the good cop bad cop angle. Even as dated as it was, it still worked. Even to people who knew about it. The good cop was a nice guy, it was easier to talk to him. The bad cop was a dick, that was about it.
He sipped his warm beer and lit another cigarette, eyeing Fredrick and waiting for an answer. He already knew the answer. Fredrick wouldn’t be looking for info if he had been here. He would already know more than the two agents in front of him, which admittedly wasn’t much. But the answer to Kit’s question was a far cry from Fredrick’s answer. What he may or may not say to answer said question could tell Mike a lot.
