A decent sized college campus area located around the central of Florence. More then 400 student attended this college before the outbreak, but it quickly became a death trap for any survivors. The campus holds two medium sized buildings for living quarters, a librairy, and the school building itself. Lots of the older student tried to build a shelter inside the library, but it didnt last longer then a few days, as large windows on the eastern side are wide open for attack. The cafeteria hasnt been touched since the outbreak, and theres a large quantity of non perishable foods left in the storage would be of use if you needed it.

[Sarah Chase enters Wesley College]
“Damn this place sucks all to hell”, muttered Sarah as she peeked out of the window. Outside, in the courtyard roamed more than a handful of undead. Most of the undead were in an advanced level of decay… probably due to the humidity and weather in the South, but there were a few newbies in there as well. While they would all be rotten away with in the next 5 to 10 years, Sarah couldn’t wait that long. Across the courtyard, at the far end was the cafeteria. Sarah hadn’t eaten much in the last couple of days and the thought of food being just a sprint away made her want to try to run.
But her weakness from hunger had set in a day or so ago and she was also pushing her motorcycle… it had run out of gas earlier that morning. Luckily… or unluckily, she had found this college and made her way to the lobby. So far most of the undead were on the outside, but the three she did encounter, she quickly took down with her crowbar. Of course she still has ammo, but one shot from either gun and she would be overwhelmed. So instead of just running there in 2 minutes, she has spent the last hour, circling around to get past the undead as quietly as she could.
Well, she thought. My parents always wanted me to go to college and here I am. Through her window, she was able to see that the library, which formed one wall of the courtyard was of no use. The all glass walls on that ran along the side courtyard were all smashed and the undead wandered in and out. Most had on either a hoodie or t-shirt supporting Wesley College. On the 10 year plan I see. Being alone all this time had forced some pretty weird habits onto Sarah. Now, she talked to herself.
Looking down at the map she had taken, she had it all planned out… hit the cafeteria for food and then hit the dorms for clothes and toiletries, GOD, she’d give anything for a shower, and then hit the nurses office for medical supplies and then the cars in the parking lot or the campus vehicles for gas or a better ride.
Yep, she had it all planned… except for the few hundred undead that seemed to always be in her way. She didn’t even bother to look down anymore, she knew she only have 100 rounds of ammo. So unless they all lined up for her and she could take out 4 with each shot… she’d put them away. Backing away from the window, she peered into the hallway, looking to make sure it was clear. Then she closely crept out of the room and shut the door behind her. She left a small x on the bottom of the door near the floor with some chalk she found. Inside the room, she was leaving her bike and this way she would know where she left it. Creeping down the hallway, she heard something move in one of the adjacent rooms. Fear, running down her spine, she stopped to listen, but said nothing. Better to be still, than eaten by the undead or raped by raiders. That was her mantra now.

Amanda (22) wasnt sure exactly why her friend was always in such a good mood, but knew that it was better then being scared all of the time. Whatever the woman had seen, couldnt have been any better then what she herself seen, could it? The upbeat music wasnt fitting at all, especially not for a late stroll though town around this part of Mississippi. Sure, it had a real southern charm to it, but it didnt suit the abandoned college dorms with the blood stained walls, not in the slightest.
Florence was a small town, and the two had just been passing through not two hours back. Okay, maybe 'passing through' wasnt the best phrase to use, but they needed to stop of supplies, and the sign entering this place said Population 257, so for now it seemed to work in their favor. Current, they were searching around the top level of the building, checking out each and ever room for whatever they could find. Dani (31) was listening to music on her MP3 player, while Amanda had been watching their backs. Somehow, she knew that the woman would be fine, but sticking together was always the better solution, especially since the only light was from the moon coming in through the window and the beams of their flashlights.
"Danica, over here..." But the woman wasnt even paying attention, and probably never even heard the young adults call. Amanda spotted a lone infected in the hallway, turning the corner. She wasnt going to rely on her backup for a single zombie, this one was all her. Pulling out a modified boxcutter from her belt, she extended it out to form a long, serrated knife, and began walking toward the walking corpse. If Dani had taught her anything, it was that she was much stronger then she thought. But unlike her, Amanda didnt like getting blood on her hands, especially not the thick red paste that was once intestines and probable other people at one point.
As the creature was pushed to the ground, Amanda drove the knife through its eye, accurately hitting the brain and leaving the body motionless in a matter of seconds of fishing around. Shortly after pulling it back out, she wiped it off on a clean part of the undead guys pants, and then destended the blade, putting it back onto her belt. By this time, Dani had the earphones off, and was watching Amanda, happy for her. "Thats the first time ive seen you kill one since we left Iowa, Amanda. Guess you still have it in you, after all..." She knew that playing fun would only motivate her to be more offensive, which was needed, especially if they had to split up for whatever reason. "Still havent gotten used to the smell yet, though."

Night had fallen and Sarah was getting quite irritated. She knew that most of it was from being hungry, but if she didn’t eat soon, then she would be a raging hormonal homocidal maniac. She gues she should count her blessings. On the first floor of the lobby, she had found a vending machine. The front was already smashed, but she did find a few candy bars and a bag of chips. Hastily she scarfed them down, providing a bit of energy and something for her stomach to do other than growl and feed on itself. But that had been hours ago and her good luck stopped there.
At the end of the building, where she had hoped to cross to get to the cafeteria, all she found was another horde of undead milling about. So she had cursed them and shot them the finger and then retreated back the other way. It had taken her most of the day to get to where she was now… the lower level of the dormitory. Letting the door slowly shut behind her, she realized that with all the lights off, she couldn’t see her hand in front of her. That left her a little jittery, so she pulled out her flashlight and turned it on.
A cool breeze floated down the hallway to her and she felt the sudden need to get off the first floor. From her scouring of the outside, she had seen that most of the windows on the first floor has been shattered. That would have meant that any clothing found in those rooms were probably a mess of mold, mildew and insects and animals. Better to check the 2nd or 3rd floors. Running her flashlight along the ceiling, she finally found the sign that pointed to the stairs. Carefully, she made her way down the hallway, wigging out with every sound. Almost every room had a muffled moan or a slow thumping inside of it.
She quickened her step.
At the door she took a deep breath as she reached for the door handle. Standing on her tip toes, she was able to shine the light into the stairwell and looking inside. There was a small landing and the stairs led up to another landing, which in turn, had stairs that led up to another landing that was the 2nd floor. As Sarah looked up between the stairs, she could see all the way to the top floor… the 4th. As she stepped closer, the door banged closed behind her, sending an echo all the way up the shaft.
“God, mother – of – raping – toad – DAMN!!!” She was so ****ed with herself that she couldn’t even form the correct string of curse words. “Well better to be eaten in a dorm room than in the stairwell”, she said hotly. Then she started up the stairs as quiet as she could. She was acutely aware of the blood rushing in her ears and the thump of her shoes off the metal steps. At the first landing, she turned and looked up at the second landing. Nothing was visible, so she hurried up those steps. She reached for the door for the 2nd floor and was about to yank it open when she came face to face with several undead who were pushing against the door.
It was all she could do to not scream and pull her weapon out and fire it. “FRACK ME!” Then she turned and hurried up to the third floor. Looking through the door, she found that there wasn’t anything waiting to greet her there and pulled on the door.
The door opened and she was hit with a smell that she hadn’t smelled in a while… stale, but clean air. She couldn’t smell the rotting stench of decaying flesh. With her hopes lifted a bit, she stepped into the third floor and shown her light down the hallway. Right now, she was at the end of the dorm and the hallway lead away from her. At the end of the building, it turned right at 90 degrees and went down the other wing of rooms.
Cautiously, she crept along.

With the headphones finally off her ears, Dani could hear sounds on the top floor. Most of them was probably just infected in some of the rooms, scrounging around slowly, its all it really sounded like to her. She was used to the sounds, and could identify them above everything else. It was all in the movement, it was never rthymic, always something off about the footsteps, the scraping of heels against the ground was a dead giveaway though. If somebody had been sneaking, they wouldnt be stupid enough to drag their heels, even if it was accidental, and just every now and again, quietly as possible.
"Havent seen too much activity in the building so far, most of those walkers are on the bottom floor, or outside. If we can clear out this section, should make scavenging that much easier. Wouldnt have to watch our backs..." At that time, the two girls instinctively split up, each going in s different direction through the hallways, checking in all of the rooms one by one. Amanda wasnt worried at all, because they havent seen any infected up on this floor, other than the lone, wandering one. And it didnt put up any sort of a fight, just a bad awful smell. Dani, on the other hand, didnt get so lucky. It wasnt an infected she stumbled upon. Turning a corner, she came face to face with new survivor down the hallway. Drawing her gun faster than her baseball bat, Dani took cover behind the wall, and shouted out.
"If your alone, let me hear your weapon hit the ground. If theres more of you; Well, just back off now and I wont kill you all myself." Dani seen that the girl was a lot younger than anybody else shes seen in her travels, younger than Amanda herself even. But if it was a firefight that broke out, it would be bad in everybodies favor, but most definitely her partners, because she had no gun on her. Amanda seen and heard Dani, then quickly and quietly ducked into a room and closed the door softly, keeping out her knife. If there had been any gunfire, things were going to get bad.

Sarah cursed under her breath when she came face to face with the woman. At a later time, she might find it funny that she was even more scared and shocked to find a live human being on this floor than coming face to face with a zombie. The Glock and the flashlight came up to head level as the other woman ducked behind the wall. Sarah, getting her wits about her decided to vacate the hallway for one of the dorm rooms that she had just come out of. Hallways had a tendency to help people’s aim improve.
“I’m not dropping my gun, just like you aren’t dropping your only protection either. I don’t want to shoot you, but I will defend myself.” Sarah’s voice echoed down the hallway. She knew… hopefully like the other person knew, that if either of them fired, the mass of undead would be alerted to their presence and that would just plain suck. Still… there was the option that the people or person’s on the other side of the wall was crazy and didn’t care. Sarah had run into a lot of those on her journeys. Taking 3 deep breaths, she calmed herself and looked out the door at the wall that the woman had jumped behind. She knew that with her rifle she could put a 45 round through the wall and probably hit her… but she really didn’t want to.
“So, what’s it going to be?”

[Connor and Abigail enter from Abandoned Mardi Gras Carnival 2020]
Connor lead the way to the college. He knew enough about the area that he knew the quickest way while still being able to check the local gun store. He had found a double barrel shotgun and a few boxes of mixed shells. He was going to have to modify it at the college. He simply stuck it down into his bag. As they walked down the street, they soon were cut off by an infected dog. Another stepped out from another alley. And a few more stepped out behind them. Between their pack mentality and their lust for flesh, the two were in for trouble. That is if both hadn't been Superhumans. Though Connor didn't know Abigail was and she didn't know he was either.
Connor saw their escape, and planned accordingly. "Don't shoot." He told her as he pointed toward the fire escape. The ladder had been pulled up but Connor knew he could pull it back down. He took off for it just before the dogs got a chance to attack. Their attack was more of a reaction. He ran at the wall, took a few steps up it before launching himself away from the wall. The ladder rolled down under his weight and readied to cover Abigail as she climbed.
He pulled out his hatchet and a knife and as one leapt at him he parried the attack. Knocking the dog to the ground it was helpless against his downward swing of his hatchet. He was ambushed by two and was only able to react to one. It bit his arm and held tight. If he was regular, he would have been infected. His nano machines reacted and had started fighting off the virus before it had a chance to spread. Connor quickly turned to the dog on his arm and sunk his blade into it's skull. The other three were now moving toward him but he quickly scaled the ladder as they jumped at him. One clung onto his pants forcing Connor to shake him loose before being able to finish climbing.
He turned to Abigail as he was finally on the same level as her. "We should go the rest of the way by rooftop if you can follow. It'll be safer and possibly quicker." He said to her but she was focused on the bite on his arm. He hadn't been paying attention to it but now he realized how bad it looked that he was bitten. Most would turn but Connor was very different and could fight off the virus without even knowing it. He was worried bow that she would freak out and that he had gathered his stuff and left his hideout for no reason.

As Abigail walked down the street with Connor, she felt uneasy; as if eyes were upon her. "Calm down, Abigail." she reassured herself and continued on. Her fear had been well-placed; an infected dog cut them off. It was followed by a couple more. Abigail turned around, prepared to walk in the opposite direction, when another pair of dogs flanked them. "Well s***." she said under her breath to try and keep her head focused. Alone, her reflexes and agility might allow her to come out on top, but she wasn't alone. While Connor definitely wasn't a pushover, she doubted he would be capable of avoiding their attacks like she could. They would have to do something else.
Connor pointed at a nearby fire escape, and she immediately understood his plan. He made the first move, performing an admirable acrobatic feat that lowered the ladder for her. Abigail ran towards it, leaping over a dog that had attempted to pounce her. Another one of the dogs lunged at her from the side. She dodged the incoming creature with a roll forward and jumped as high she could, reaching about halfway up the ladder before climbing the rest of the way up.
Looking down, she witnessed Connor struggling to climb up with all the dogs attacking him. She whipped out her handgun and began firing providing him cover. The shots were greatly muffled due to the suppressor Abigail had found months ago. Two of her bullets hit a dog in the torso, successfully taking it out, while another one of her shots pierced a dog's brain, killing it. Her efforts proved to be helpful, but it wasn't enough. Connor was bitten as he was climbing. Nevertheless, Abigail fired two more shots, one of them missing, and the other hitting a dog's throat as it was in midair. By the time Connor had climbed all the way up, Abigail's weapon was empty.
Upon reaching her level, Connor had said something, but Abigail wasn't focused on his words. Instead, she found herself staring at the wound; he was going to be infected. She looked into his eyes, and bluntly said: "You're infected." An apparent sound of concern escaped with her words. "I'm sorry, I can't risk bringing you to my friends like this." Guilt overwhelmed Abigail as she spoke; had she simply forgotten him, Connor wouldn't have gotten into this mess.

Connor ran his fingers through his hair in frustration at her words of protest. The wound was minimal and once the machines had killed the virus, they had stopped the bleeding and started healing. He was now forced to explain himself instead of hoping to never have to. "No, I am not. I guess I will just have to explain everything. This, this will be healed and you would never know it was there by the time we get to the college."
He pointed to his arm, showing her that the wound was already healing. He saw the look on her face and decided he would tell her everything, otherwise he was wasting his time. "Ten years ago I had joined the Army to be just like my dad. It had been ten years since Raccoon City, so no one was being shipped there. We were all shipped overseas. During a firefight, a Molotov cocktail his me and burned 60% of my body. I fell into a coma."
"That was in 2010. They could only do so much for me in the regular hospital. But somehow I was transferred on over to a Tricell facility and experimented on. They said they placed nano machines into my body, a plate under my chest to regulate everything, and titanium threads throughout my body. For five years they tortured me and forced me to kill before I was able to escape. What I found outside the facility was almost as bad as what was inside it." He finished and started climbing to the roof. If she didn't follow him, he was headed off on his own once again.

Abigail listened to Connor's story with the utmost curiosity. His story was exceedingly similar to her own. A thought came to Abigail: just how many people went through the exact same process she went through? A better question surfaced: how many survived? A chill traveled up her spine at the thought of the countless amount of people who were tormented or killed by these savage murderers. Clearly only those without conscious joined their ranks.
At the conclusion to Connor's story, Abigail understood why Connor was so . While being forced to kill had strengthened Abigail's passion to protect others, it had apparently distilled an opposite effect on Connor. A second thought led Abigail to conclude that the effect it had on Connor was likely the same effect it had on any others that may have gone through the same tribulation; perhaps Abigail was an outlier. Regardless, it mattered little in the current situation. "Alright, I believe you." she said as she climbed atop the roof with Connor and began walking towards where she parted from her friends.
"To be completely honest, I only believe you because your story sounds similar to my own." she said as the two walked. "When I was around fifteen, my father had killed most of my family in a drunken rage." Memories of that fateful night coursed through her thoughts. "He was just about to kill another one of my siblings when I fired upon him, but I was too late. My father had stabbed him through the heart. Miraculously, he survived, but I was taken to the police station for questioning. Sometime after I was released, I blacked out." Her words were honest, and you could almost feel the sorrow emitting from her. "When I woke up, I was inside a Tricell laboratory with heightened reflexes and an immense boost to my speed. From there, my story, more-or-less, is the same as yours."
Only minutes after she finished did the two arrive at the college dormitory. There was only one entrance. They would have to travel through the reception room first. "So we'll have to cut through towards the back of the building, that's where my group is." she said. "I don't believe there are any zombies within, but it doesn't hurt to act as if there may be." Something felt off to Abigail; she remembered the power working when she was first there. All the lights looked to be off from the inside. Whatever was bothering her, she shook off. There had to be a reasonable explanation for it, didn't there?

Connor nodded as he took his bow from his back and nocked an arrow. He was ready and unwilling to attract more walkers or BOWs to the area. He looked through the reception area and saw that the building was one big circle with a courtyard in the middle. He was used to power being out since the power plants were most likely abandoned many years ago. He didn't see any movement in any of the windows.
He followed Abigail as they walked through the building. There was no noise or any movement from what he could see. He was unsure if the upstairs was cleared but it seemed that was not where they were heading. If they were going to make a home of the place, they would have to clear out the second floor. He also half dreaded what it would be like if it had been occupied by walkers since the beginning. Connor made sure to check every room as they went by. He didn't want anything to surprise them.
It took them a few extra minutes to get to where they were heading but it was just to make sure the way was safe. They would have to do a sweep of the entire building before truly settling dow. That was something Connor always did before make somewhere his new home. That way it was always safe and he always knew his surroundings.

Abigail turned on the flashlight she had attached to her UMP and followed Connor through the building. The two cleared every area en route to their destination, checking corners and every room they passed. Nothing seemed to be lurking in the area; at least at first glance. When the two deemed the first floor safe, they arrived at one of the two entrances to the college's cafeteria. The doors were made of glass. Looking through, all Abigail could see was a pitch blackness. "If they're here, they're in here." Abigail said to Connor, though she doubted her own words.
Raising her weapon, she gently pushed the door open with her foot and stepped within the darkness. She shone her light around the room to check for any signs of life; like the rest of the building had been, it seemed to be completely lifeless. Abigail hadn't realized it earlier, but her heart was pounding. It felt as if her heart was going to burst out of her chest. Eight years of fighting off some of the most horrific creatures didn't help when it came to dark rooms. They left a feeling of uncertainty, a feeling that she hated.
Abigail was in the middle of the room when a loud coughing echoed from somewhere in the room. Once more, Abigail shone her light around, this time finding what she was looking for. In the corner right of the doorway she had entered from sat a person with their back against the wall. She slowly approached the figure. "Alex!" she said in hushed shout. Upon getting a closer look at him, he had an enormous slash spanning across his torso. "Oh my God, what happened!"
"Abigail," the wounded young man began, his voice was straining. "Get out of here, mons-" Before Alex could finish what he was saying, he died from his wounds. His head dropped and hung.
"No, Alex! Wake up!" Abigail shouted in desperation, tears beginning to fill her eyes. "Damn it, stay with me!" By now, her entire face had reddened. She was overwhelmed.
From behind Abigail and Connor came the sound of shattering Turning around, she saw three green-reptilian beasts had broken through the doorway and began to approach them. Their claws looked sharp enough to decapitate someone in one sweep; no doubt they were the killers of Alex. "I recognize these things." Abigail said to Connor. "They were in tubes back at the Tricell lab I was held in, I think they were called Hunters." she said and raised her weapon once more.
The creatures approached the duo, and when they got close enough, they leapt at them with their claws ready to swing. Abigail fired a short burst into one of them, knocking it out of the air, but not quite killing it. "We've gotta move, Connor!" she shouted, and sprinted away.

Connor had already been on the lookout for any sign of the creature that did this. His bow was at the ready and he was going to kill whatever it was that was here. Many BOWs thought they were the top of the food chain and were unkillable until the day they came across Connor. If he hadn't killed it, it was going to be crippled or scarred for life. The moment the Hunters came around the corner his brain went into kill mode. He had fought one before and knew how to kill it. He didn't even hear Abigail as he started shooting arrows at the monsters. He was fast and his bow was powerful. After just a second, he had fired enough arrows to cripple one of the Hunters. The other two came barreling in to attack him but their movements were to wide and slow and he was able to avoid them before taking off with Abigail.
They bolted out of the room and headed toward a flight of stairs. He wasn't sure about if they should but ran up them anyway. Before going up he fired a few more arrows slowing down the group as a whole as their legs were punctured. They continued on trying to ignore the pain. This gave the two a few more seconds lead as they made their way to the top. They pushed through the door and saw nothing. It was pitch black and impossible to see. "Hide." Connor said before disappearing into the darkness. His plan was to ambush them before they could hurt either of them. With his bow fully drawn he waited for the giant lizards to reach the top of the stairs. They would never see the arrow coming and he would have moved before they found him. He was the true hunter.

Abigail rushed out the door to the cafeteria as the familiar rush of adrenaline coursed through her body once more; this feeling had become massively common at this point. Spotting a flight of stairs, she ran up the two with Connor. While running up, she heard the occasional firing of a bow from behind her, typically followed by the screech of a Hunter; she couldn't help but feel grateful for Connor's skill. Had she been in the same situation alone, she doubted she would have been able to come out alive.
Upon reaching the top of the staircase, Abigail and Connor entered a nearby room and hid from their pursuers. She turned off her weapon's light when Connor hushed her to be silent. For a moment, the two simply waited for the Hunters to come up. Their waiting went unrewarded. Something had thrown the Hunters off their trail. That something was discovered when a piercing scream came from downstairs. "The other survivors are still alive!" she said in a both hushed and panicked voice. "We can't just leave them to die!" with those words her emotions overcame her. She shoved up the door and began descending the stairs they had just ascended.

Connor sighed as he took off after Abigail to help her fight these monsters. Connor was quick, following the blood from the creatures to where he found them. He roared with a fierceness, challenging their dominance. They turned just before they attacked a helpless woman. They attacked in unison as Connor prepared for impact. He slung his bow over back as he grabbed his hatchet and knife.
A large arm swung down on him as he rolled out of it's way. He stabbed the back of one of their legs. He moved quick and hit hard, worse than any hornet on Earth. When he had aggravated one enough and it was lucky enough, he was forced to block it with his arms. It's claws tore at his arms but he was able to grab hold of the Hunter's arms and twisted it. It's forearm was as big as his full arm but he handled it and pinned the hand to the ground. He used one of his booted feet to stomp on the arm.
With a sickening crunch, the arm was broke under the enhanced strength and weight of Connor's boot. He turned and slashed one across the face as it got close to him. He jumped on it's back and wrapped his arms around it's neck. He squeezed hard to crush it's throat and bread a bone in it's neck. It flailed as it tried to breath and was unable to move. He turned to take on another Hunter.
He launched himself at the one with the broken arm and came down with the hatchet. The Hunter was unable to block itself with its arm. The hatchet suck into it's shoulder. He was unable to pull it free so he pulled out his machete. They were weakened because of the arrows so Connor had the upper hand. As the other Hunter went to attack, the sight that caught everyone off guard, Connor launched his fist up with the knife and punched all the way through the Hunter's sternum. It fell down on him and he was forces to push it off to one side. The other Hunter went to run away but Connor jumped on it's back and slammed his machete into it's skull, killing it.
Connor turned back to Abigail who was shocked by Connor and he spoke. "It's been too long since I killed one of those. I've never killed three at once. What's surprising is those were babies, where's mama Hunter?" He said as he looked around to the last of the group of survivors.
