Smalltime store owner, Andy Lockburn, set up his own hardware supply building open for the public. Only the cheapest priced lumber and equipment in the whole Rankin County, but pretty much free to take what you need since the outbreak. Need wood for building barricades? Youve come to the right place. Hammer and nails? Plenty to go around. Zombies? Theres a chainsaw for that. Everything you need all line the shelves. Most of the hardware that has been kept in the back rooms are all untouched, seems the key was missing since Andy went missing. Find him, and you got yourself more supplise to go around.

It seemed awfully quiet in these parts of the states. At least, that's how it was for only a little while. As Marc stepped along the broken glass from the broken out of shop windows. Exhaling a soft sigh of relief, Marc had felt like he was being chased for days and nights on end. Holding Bittersweet Sundown upon his shoulder, Marc would walk as carefree as he used to. His head turned every now and again to scan the area, but it was when the distant moans of the undead began calling that Marc could feel panic flowing over his muscles. Sweat slightly formed as he looked back and forth, unsure of where exactly they were coming from. He was almost out of ammo and there wasn't a gun store nearby, but that was when Marc eyed the Hardware Store. Jogging over towards it as quietly as he could, Marc opened the door and closed it behind him. It didn't sound like many, but he still had to be safe.
Silently locking it, Marc stepped away from the door with the Remington M870 shotgun aimed upon the entrance. The moans were faint, but still there, however they soon faded as he apparently hadn't been heard or his scent wasn't caught. Marc exhaled a sigh, lowering his weapon as he turned around to look at the hardware supplies upon the shelves. A lot would be helpful, but in the current situation he didn't feel like going up close and personal with those damned things. Exhaling a sigh, the tall male looked around some more before coming to the back of the register where he managed to find a pack of handgun rounds. Not many, but still enough to have Massacre by Dawn fully loaded. He crouched down as he opened the box to begin loading his handgun to its full capacity.

The safety zone needed some more lumber for the barricade, and it was Marcus' job to gather up the supplise and put it in his truck. Parking next to the Hardware store, he turned off the engine, and then jumped out, slamming the door behind him. His old bones could carry him pretty fast for a guy his age, but the double barrel twelve gauge gave a whole new meaning to term 'Riding Shotgun'. After a reaching from the front door, he noticed there had been a number of infected roaming around and on their way toward his location. Marcus pushed open the door, and then ran for the far right. Grabbing a thick bit of wood, he jammed it in the doorhandles, blocking it off from anything getting inside.
Looking around the place, Marcus spun around with the shotgun aimed at the front desk, and saw another man aiming a new model shotgun toward him. Looked like it was a stand off, but either of them would fire, it just depended on who spoke first to break the stance. Marcus called this one out, he didnt have time for dealing with survivors who were hostile. But this guy didnt look it, he seemed to have an eye for something else. Lowering his shotgun, Marcus spoke out in a stern tone. "Son, point that sh*t somewhere else, dayum!" Marcus waited for a reaction before moving away, just in case he was actually looking for a firefight.

The sound of a door slamming distracted him from his position behind the counter. Grabbing hold of his Bittersweet Sundown, Marc was up when the guy was lodging the wood into the door to keep it secure. And shotgun on the guy by the time he turned around. Marc didn't pull the trigger as the other guy eased up, and Marc relaxed his weapon. Lowering it somewhat for a moment and looking to the male. Scanning over him to get a grasp of how the guy was, and the shotgun was lowered without a word as Marc held the weapon with one hand. Exhaling softly as he looked outside, there was more of them coming. A curse exhaled out of his lips as he placed a hand on the window as Marc scanned the streets.
"More of them...Sh*t..."
Marc looked over to the other guy, they could easily go head to head and it would be quite clear who could be the winner. However, Marc needed to be sure he got out alive, but could the guy be trusted? Backing away from the window he looked over to the other male. Exhaling a sigh of annoyance, followed by a grunt, Marc had no choice in this predicament.
"With how many of them are coming, I don't think we'll be able to particularly Rambo it. Hell, there was a lot less before your engine started making things noisy as f*ck. And I'm not entirely sure that if we stay here that those glass walls will hold on for forever."
With Bittersweet Sundown in hand, Marc jogged for the back of the store to try and find a back door if they could use. Upon seeing one, he moved to try it before noticing it locked. However, Marc didn't notice the deadbolt lock which required a key before he began slamming his shoulder into the sturdy door. Exhaling a loud grunt per slam, the door still didn't seem to want to budge. Moving back a few steps, Marc slammed into it with full force but it barely even budged. The door was solid, and when Marc slammed into it as fast as he could go, Marc bounced off and hit the dirt. A groan escaping his lips as he looked up before noticing the deadbolt.
"Sonuva..."

"If you get that damn door open, I gots me an idea..." Marcus had spoke in a clever voice. Laying the shotgun down against a shelf, he an for the back of the place, and grabbed an armful of boards. He could carry about six in each arm, that was it. He had began to pile them toward the back door, waiting for the other man to figure out a way through. Marcus knew that there should be a key around, but he hadnt seen it at the front desk, which was a mystery to him where it could be. It wasnt like Andy to just leave the place unlocked, either, meaning he could very well still here.
But that wasnt on his mind, gathering lumber was, and he needed a few loads. Marcus had spend the next five minutes piling up, all great pieces that hadnt been taken because nobody had the need for them until now. The other man was scrambling around the store, searching for a way to get the door open, searching for Andy. Marcus spoke out, lifting another armful of wood. "Wherever that sombit*ch is, hes got the keys. Check that there storage room, and watch yourself! Dont go jerkin around, ya hear?" Marcus leaned against the front counter, seeing about fifteen of the undead piling up against the glass now. He was out of breath, and needed a breather. The other guy looked to be a strong man, and could help him to the lumber to the truck once the door was open. But would the glass hold until then?

Jumping to his feet, even as built as he was, Marc still couldn't believe he wasn't able to bust down the door. Looking to the other man whom he didn't know about, he nodded before looking around as he noticed the storage closet. Running to it as Marc reached for the doorknob and paused. But what if Andy there was a zombie? He'd be walking right into a...form of a trap. Exhaling a sigh as he placed Bittersweet Sundown upon the counter nearby, Marc grabbed hold of Massacre by Dawn, the handgun aimed at the door as he turned the knob. Unlocked. Exhaling a sigh for a moment, he pushed the door open and backed up a step. Silence. Stepping towards it slowly, the decaying flesh that was familiar to his nostrils overtook the small storage closet which was kinda like a long hall to the right filled with junk mostly. The door opened to his left as Marc stepped inside. Moving down the right sorta quickly as he scanned the room. Nothing. It was quiet save for the noise out of the room. Marc lowered his handgun as he looked down at the ground. There was a key, and as Marc reached down to grab it a drop of crimson landed on his hand.
Blinking somewhat, Marc grabbed the key and noticed as more drops landed on his hand and Marc looked up. There was a large pool of red on the ceiling tile... Marc uttered only the words "What the fu--" before the body came crashing down and Marc fell backwards, his gun sliding back as it discharged a shot into the ceiling behind him. Cursing somewhat, the undead Andy landed on the ground with a decrepit moan. What he'd been doing in the ceiling, Marc will never know nor will he ask. Scrambling backwards, Marc didn't enjoy getting up close and personal if he didn't have to. Marc turned back to run, picking up his gun along the way as he pulled the door shut in a slam. In all the ruckus, Marc had dropped the key under one of the shelves as Marc looked around, a curse muttering from his lips.
"Sh*t! Where'd that key go?!"
Marc looked down to the ground as he dropped to his hands and knees, looking underneath the shelves as he could already hear the glass starting to crack at all the slamming against the window. Marc cursed as he reached underneath blindly, hand frantically searching for the key. He wasn't going to die, not here, not yet. His arm was completely underneath the shelf as he searched, managing to grab the key a minute later as he pulled it out and began running for the back room. A curse muttering as he began to frantically put the key in and turn to unlock it. Twisting the knob he called back to the other as he returned to grab Bittersweet Sundown.
"The door's open! Move!"
He said as he opened the unlocked door only to be greeted by a tackle hug from a zombie who'd been locked in there. Shouting as he dropped his weapon and began to fumble to keep the damned thing from biting him by holding it by the forehead and beneath the neck. The zombie was big, so it was kinda heavy and was suffocating him at the same time. He tried twisting the undead creature's neck to break it but its neck was so full of fat that was almost deemed impossible. And the teeth were getting closer, he was going to die in seconds if the other guy didn't save him.

Marcus could see the glass starting to crack at the front, and knew that didnt have much time for the infected broke inside. As the other man unlocked the door, Marcus began to pick up an armful of lumber, but saw that one of the infected gabbed onto the guy, pinning him to the ground. Grabbing a piece of the lumber in one hard firmly, he drove it toward the infecteds head, imploding its skull, enevitably rendering it motionless. By this time, the glass out from had all smashed, and the zombies here barging inside slowely, tripping and falling over eachother as the mass amount glared in victory. Reaching down to give the man a hand up, Marcus spoke out while pulling him to his feet. "Grab some of this here lumber, we can duck out the back, and throw it all in my truck!"
After filling up both of his arms, and rushing though the back door, Marcus jogged around to the front of the store. Seeing as the zombies had been inside the store now, his truck was completely bare from any of them. Throwing the armfuls inside, Marcus was greeted by the other man who had done the same not fifteen seconds later. Only difference was, the man had Marcus' shotgun that he had forgotten inside, handing it to him. Laughing to himself, Marcus spoke up in a friendly tone. "Well dayum, look at this heroic motherf*cker here, being all Jesus and sh*t. Get in the truck, your welcome to my ammunition supply when we get back..."

Exhaling a sigh of relief, Marc pulled himself to his feet thanks to the other man's help. Of course, after rolling the undead freak off him. The glass shattered as he looked over and watched as zombies began to fall over themselves but some were advancing. Great. He was about to grab the armloads before noticing the man forgot his shotgun. Shaking his head he ran over and grabbed hold of it and held it by the barrel as he got the armfuls of lumber under both his built arms. Marc ran over and pulled as much of the lumber as he could under both his arms. Swinging around and jogging after Marcus, he looked at all the stuff they could use for the zombies like a chainsaw or two. However, Marc thought he'd rather help the other guy out to make them even.
When the zombies were infested in the hardware store and things were clear, Marc followed Marcus to the man's truck. Helping him throw the lumber in the back a few seconds later, Marc exhaled a sigh before looking to the other guy. A chuckle escaping his lips as he held the man's shotgun out. Watching the other take it, Marc exhaled a sigh of relief as he had luckily grabbed his own shotgun and had it in the holster attached to his backpack. Marc watched as the man took it before being offered to join him. Hesitating for a moment. They were even weren't they? But Marc really could use ammunition, and all the gun shops he came across were raided so maybe going with him wouldn't be a bad idea. Marc nodded as he jogged around to the passenger side, waiting for the other man to unlock the door and jumping in with him on the passenger side. Finally catching a breather, Marc's weary eyes stayed open as he was used to only catching few hours of sleep. Looking over to the other, he thought he might as well introduce himself.
"I'm Marc, by the way. Marc Firewing. Thanks for saving my ass back there."
Marc chuckled softly as he looked on ahead and looked down at his backpack which was at his feet. His lips breathing softly as he reached down and pulled out his mini laptop and turning it on. Beginning to type on it, writing down a journal in case anything were to happen to him of course. That and also a checklist within the journal that saved him the trouble of having to check places twice and waste time. Although this was his first visit since the beginning of the 2012 outbreak. Marc's fingers flew across the keyboard as he typed pretty fast. His battery was still pretty fresh from the motel he stayed at for a while. He just wanted a decent night's sleep, that's all he wanted. But for now he'd have to be alert until he got that sleep.

Looking at the man, Marc, and him typing away at the little computer gave Marcus the feeling that this kid had been doing a lot of thinking. He didnt comment on the piece of technology, but he did introduce himself, so Marcus felt it was appropriate to do the same. "Marcus Wrey, but you refer to be as Wrey, ya got that? Crazy white boy..." He meant no offense to it, Wrey was very grateful to have the kid come along. It was always better to work in teams, rather then trying to go solo all the time. Sure, it meant you didnt have to do any sharing, but there was plenty of shotgun shells to go around where they were going. However, the lumber was just the first thing on his list. Next, they would have to hit the hospital, and scavenge some medical supplise. As the truck sped away from the hardware store, Wrey hung the shotgun above the mirror on a rack, and then reached to a box in between and behind the seats. Open it up, there was two crates full of shotgun shells. Nudging the guy Marc, Wrey nodded to the right, moving the kids attention to the ammunition stash, implying that he could help himself. The truck hit church street, and sped along as fast as the vehicle could drive. Seeing the hospital off to the right side, Wrey drifted the tired to the side, making a bold slide onto the road leading up to the Rankin County Hospital. [Marc and Wrey now entering the Rankin County Hospital]
