destructoid.com/elephant/photo-m.phtml?photo_key=146859&post_key=176601So the RE PSP is now RE on 3DS. Hopefully RE PSP will still be made, but anyways. Link above has all of the images released at this years E3. It seems the game is going to be RE5 centric, or 'prequel' might be more accurate. There's an interesting shot of Chris and Jill in a conflict between each other over some man sporting a similar hair cut to our lovable, 'roidz-for-breakfast protagonist. The cruise ship in one of the other pics is the supposed setting of the game. Plus one other shot shows HUNK, probably breaking necks or something. Revelations may prove more interesting story wise. Not to mention if it is a prequel, then the whole Plagas OB Kijuju thing hasn't happened and the only logical enemy Capcom can fit in would be zombies ^‿‿^ If anyone finds out anything, be a champ and post it in here. We can only hope so. When me and my brother-in-law were destroying RE5, the only part that actually, genuinely terrified us was walking into the Licker pen. The second I saw that first claw mark, I was like "OOOOOOOH DUDE THAT'S A LICKER SCRATCH OH s*** OH s*** OH s***" We ran through the ENTIRE game. Every single step. Aside from the Pen. We walked. Slowly.

Well everyone thought that blonde girl was going to be of some significance, and she was just some random girl who gets peaced.
I think there pretty good at showing minor bits and letting our minds go wild. I remember seeing a Japanese RE4 commercial and Leon getting chased by what appeared to be the grudge. And that had nothing to do with the game.

In all fairness, they had scrapped the orriginal version of RE4...

Good point, but I think the blond girl still serves as a good example of sneak peek that people grossly over-estimated in importance.

Yeah...Well, I suppose it would have been more striking if we knew Jill was supposed to be dead before RE5 came out...

Another Resident evil Game seeming to take place on a giant ship?? Has Capcom not already done this like two times already and failed. Well i guess 3rd time is the charm..

Gaiden and Dead Aim, both failed not because they were on the ship, but because they tried new grounds. Gaiden was good enough for the GBC but no one really wanted a GameBoy Resident Evil, at least not a title that the GBC could handle. And Dead Aim tried to capatilize on the GunCon success with titles like Time Crisis 2 and House of the Dead 3. But when it attempted to mix Rail Shooting with tank controls, it was doomed to crash and burn. Capcom realized this and now we have two very successful Wii Rail Shooters. Boat's are pretty good for stories, since they already offer a natural progression (It's gotta dock somewhere, or sink) Plus the tight quarters, dim lighting and unfamiliar noises make them perfect for a horror title...

You can't really call Dead Aim 'bad'. There's a lot of influence from that game that can be seen in Resident Evil 4 (not entirely gameplay wise of course). That aside, the ship settings went quite well with both DA and Gaiden; granted the latter half of DA was no longer on the boat. So long as they maintain unique areas, we could be looking at an interesting title which feels a lot like the original Resident Evil.
The cargo ship was one fun location to explore in RE5, if it was like that only a little more dynamic then it would be golden.

I can't wait to see how the 3DS will handle this game. (late to the thread but...)
Also, I'm thinking the guy strapped to the chair is HUNK and he'll probably be the final boss. Oh boy, I can't wait.

Personally, I think HUNK should've stayed in the shadows. Also, I bet Chris and Jill are just pulling everyone's legs with the whole seemingly ****ed of at eachother. Just a face, obviously. Haha.
