The trip to Florida was marked with the usual protocols one might expect from a para military organization which though meant well, perhaps didn't have the means to achieve everything that they would like to. It seemed more big talk and show than tangible results to Bradley. He sat stoically getting briefed on the facility, it's capabilities, the current status of surrounding areas, and the roster of agents currently stationed there.
As he had expected though, the man briefing him seemed to read more from a script rather than speaking from actual knowledge. Jim kept silent throughout the trip and at absorbed as much second hand knowledge of his new home as possible. Of particular interest to him were the current agents stationed there and their profiles. It always helped to understand your men's capabilities before hand.
Upon arrival to the facility, Jim took note of the security measures, and overall layout of the buildings. He nodded to himself slightly as he viewed this, knowing that it probably wasn't an ideal set up but it was apparently good enough for now. The transport door was opened from the outside and a young man in uniform saluted while speaking.
"Colonel Bradley, this way please."
Jim silently followed his escort, while carrying his own sack of belongings and long rifle case for his personal 'toy' assault rifle. He was led short way across the concrete deck to a security door where the very suit who had visited him stood with his silent partner.
"Colonel Bradley, I'm glad to see you made it. I hope the trip wasn't too unbearable. You can leave your weapons and personal effects here as they will be checked in and brought to you're quarters which have already been prepared. I will see you to them, if you would follow me"
Once more Jim nodded as he relinquished his own personal armament and effects and followed the man into the facility. Once inside, the suit began an oration concerning the facilities history and capabilities as the group proceeded to the higher levels. It appeared from the inner area and exterior layout that this was a fully capable facility complete with separate wings dedicated to science, technology and arms. Jim's opinion of the B.S.A.A. was raised at this and he took some solace in the fact that at least someone knew what they were doing.
Upon reaching the 6th level the man in the suit led the colonel a short way down the hall to a door which was already open. He motioned to the portal and smiled at Jim.
"Here we are Colonel, your new quarters. I hope they are to your liking and if there is anything needed, please don't hesitate to ask."
Jim stepped in passed the man looking at the rather plain living area. All of the essentials were there at least, and Jim had to admit to himself that it appeared to be more than he expected or even needed. With a brief glance and nod to the suit he then replied, "It will do just fine."
The man in the suit smiled and handed a kindle to Jim, while continuing, "All the necessary data you requested is loaded and prepped for review. Our current data is as accurate and updated as possible with patches and additions being made on a regular basis. Don't be surprised Colonel, if you see some of your own words in the reports as we draw from all reliable data resources from individuals with experience in the field. Now if you'll excuse me, I will leave you to get acclimated. Feel free to explore the facility as you see fit of course sir."
With a curt nod and brief salute, Jim was left alone and he took a seat by a well illuminated window and began reviewing the B.S.A.A.'s information on Bio weapons, current sit reps and agent profiles.
