This Middle school is a bit cramp. It's three floors tall, has a gym, and a small computer lab. The faculty has abandoned the place and there may still be survivors inside. Soldiers used to be around the area- the damage to the roads and agriculture confirm it. There was a violent occurrence here, that's for sure. The gym is almost falling apart from the outside and there's a large blue tarp over the computer lab's ceiling. It's still possible to go inside, but it seems like a death trap from the view at the street line.

"Hmm, if cleared out, it would be a great base of operations," Kal said, looking at the school from outside. He made a lap around the school, finding bloodstains, broken windows, and barricades. He wondered why the school was called Pika Pika, shrugged, and locked his bike to a bike rack nearby.
Checking the door, he found that the handle was broken. The door was made of metal, so slamming wouldn't work out too well. He found a metal pipe surrounded by glass, and thanked whoever threw it out the window. He took the pipe and smashed the window next to the door. He opened it from the inside and took a door stopper to support it.
Kal started trying to wave down anyone nearby, in case he needed any help.

'Man, nobody around,' thought Kal after an hour of no help. He tried thinking of a way of getting someone to help while he was in, and rememberd his walkie. On every frequency availiable, he sent out a message: "If anyone can hear this, I am entering the Pika Pika Middle School. I am planning on clearing it out, and I may need some help. If anyone is willing to help me, please come and assist me. This is Kalonov Dyne, respond ASAP if possible and I will wait outside for you to come to the school."

Seeing that nobody was coming or calling him, he thought it would be better to find somewhere else to hang out until he found some help. He remembered seeing the pet shop on the way down here, so he unlocked his bike and rode down there.

Kal came back to the school, and took his bike inside. He found a room on the left of the entrance, and barricaded himself in with Fangren. He went through the door connecting it to another room, and completely barricaded any ways out of there. He found many objects in the rooms that may be useful, and created a stockpile in the first room. There was a couch in the first room, and leather chairs. He blocked the windows, and layed down on the couch, Fangren laying with him. He put his shotgun under the couch, and the pistol and slingshot under the cushion. He fell asleep for the night, but just barely, for anything could happen.

Kal woke up to a scratching at the door. Fangren was already barking, and he could smell rotting flesh. "Just 5 more minutes," he said jokingly. He grabbed the pistol from underneath the cushion. He moved the barricade, forming a bunker near the wall, because he didn't want it to break. He hid behind the wall he formed, and took aim. The door broke open, and 3 zombies toppled into the room. He shot at them, and made 3 easy close-range head shots.
"More will come soon. I have to get ready. I don't have enough ammo for a school full of zombies. I need more weapons." He took his slingshot, took off the band, and got about 7 rulers from the stockpile. He grabbed all the pencils he could find, elastics, paper clips, his duct-tape, and his swiss army knife.
He cut 2 of the grooved rulers at the tip, and bent the others, using duct-tape to hold them together. He formed a U-like shape with three of the rulers, and attached them to the other 2. He attached the band between the first 2, and attached paper clips for a hold and pencils for a handle.
He formed a makeshift crossbow, and it could use any thin, long object as ammunition. He loaded a pencil into it, and shot it at the wall, the hole proving that it would work. He took some pens and pencils, and loaded one into the crossbow. He aimed it at the door, just as a zombie crawled in. He shot it's head, but the pen only jabbed one fourth of the way in. It caused enough damage to kill the zombie, and Kal reloaded.
"I won't be able to keep this up if too many zombies come in. I will need to use my pistol soon." He reloaded, and fired a pencil into the neck of another zombie. The zombie was stunned, and Kal reloaded again as it bled to re-death. "I need to get out of here. I've played enough games to know I can't survive forever just sitting back in my barricade. I need to take it to the top and clear this place out. It's the only way to take this place."
He was about to head out, when the side door broke open. 5 zombies started running(as much as a zombie could) at him, and he only got a round into one of them, and picked up his pistol, as they tackled him. He got a shot into the one that was on him, and he screamed as loud as he could.

Okay, Kalonov, it seems that you keep making post after post while here. If you're bored and either need somebody to RP with or a staff member to throw something at you, then say so in the RP Request thread so we can give you a hand, alright?
A faint hissing sound from the air ducts echoes throughout the room. The airducts rattled, then momentarilly stopped. Seconds later, one of the caged doors to the duct fell and a hungry licker came out.

He pushed the zombie laying on him at the others and ducked just in time do dodge decapitation. Fangren jumped at the long-tongue and killed it. He took down the other zombies, grabbed his pack and bike, and brought Fangren out of the school. He ran out of the school, not noticing the beast following him. He got on his bike, turned on his light, and readied his shotgun for any surprises.

Kal turned around and saw a long-tongue chasing him, noticing that it looked more humanlike than the others, without a brain showing. He saw that it had eyes and ears, and figured that this might be a bit dangerous. He aimed his shotgun, but the long-tongue jumped at him. He fired, and guts were spewn everywhere. The beast's tongue was still moving towards him, and cut into his cheek.
RAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH, he shouted in pain, before he grabbed the medi-wrap and duct-tape and covered the wound. He stood his ground, Fangren growling in the school's direction.

'Man, I need to find a safe area to hide, until morning, at least.' Kal tried to think of an area that would be safe. 'I know, my home. I can go there, and that area is fully barricaded, no zombie attacks there.'
"Man, that took some time," Kal said, pulling up to his house. "I may need to rest here for a while. I just hope I'll be better soon"
"Kal! You're home! Oh, thank goodness! Honey! Kids! Kal's home!" Kal got a big hug from his mom, and quickly pushed her off. He told her that he was there to rest, and that he and his new pet weren't bit. (Next post, I will introduce his sister, as an npc)

(At Home) After about 3 days of rest, Kal's scars were almost healed. He still winced when turning around too much, but he's fine otherwise. 'Maybe I should leave soon,' Kal thought.
"I know that look. Where are you going?" asked Rolena. She wanted to help, but could see that he wanted to leave unnoticed.
"I'm going to go to the mall, maybe I'll meet a few friends." Kal was walking out the door, but Rolena stopped him.
"It's too dangerous. You'll be killed."
"No I won't. I have Fangren with me. I need to leave, so I can find a cure. You need to stay here and help the others. I need to leave to save you from whatever you're becoming."
Kal is now at the Maple Tree Mall

As another police car roared by with sirens blazing, Claire felt the irritation rise up in her again. Without turning away from the board, she answered their unspoken question.
“It’s okay class, please turn to page 87 in your text books. Today we will be discussing the incident that led up to the Revolutionary War and how the world matters helped plunging the colonies to a war with England.” Turning around to face the class, she saw that they were mostly looking out the window. “Jonathan, can you tell me how was King of England during this time?”
Jonathan, a boy in the back row was about to answer when another police car screamed by. “Class, attention up here, please. While there are probably more exciting things going on somewhere else, none of them will help you pass your test tomorrow.”
A chorus of groans went up from the class and they all went back to looking at their books. Again, Jonathan was about to answer, when the school siren went off. Like a prophet of doom, it sounded again and again, drawing the attention of the class and of Claire first to the siren and then to the speaker.
== Attention School, this is Principal Devers. There seems to be some unrest in the nearby sections of town, so until further notice, we are on lockdown. Teachers, please lock your doors and windows. This will pass soon and we will be back on our normal schedule. That is all. ==
The voice sounded bland, but Claire caught the stress in the Principal’s voice. Something else was going on. Claire went to the door and shut and locked it. Then she went to the windows and made sure they were locked… not that they would be doing good. Claire’s class was on the third floor of the school and most people would not be able to get up there.
But from the window, she had a pretty good view of the area around the school. The classes at recess were already pulled back inside and she saw that there were police officers closing off the gates heading toward the school and were taking up position at the doors leading into the school.
Something was definitely wrong.
“Callie, can you take over for a second. Have them continue on with the discussion and Jonathan still needs to answer his question.” Claire gave him a grin. Callie, the teacher intern who was studying to be a teacher nodded and took up where Claire left off. Quickly Claire slipped out the door, and hearing it lock behind her, she headed down the stairs towards the principle’s office.
She was going to find out what was happening.
:: EDIT 02/03/2012 ::
“What the hell are you doing here?!?!”
And that was when Claire knew something was wrong. Her Principal, a Ms. Devers, never raised her voice to anyone. She was a soft spoken woman with an iron will. Now, her face was fearful and the stress was evident in her voice.
“Callie is watching my class and they are locked up tight. I wanted to see if I could help.”
Ms. Devers considered her for a second and then nodded. “The riots are getting close, so we are locking the doors. I would like for you to go with Officer Daniels to the rear of the school and see to locking up the maintenance doors.” Devers tossed Claire the keys. Something outside caught both of their attentions. At the fence, people were already starting to gather, pressing in on it. They could see that police officers were already heading off in their direction. Claire turned to Devers.
“Did you already call the parents?”
Ms. Devers shook her head. “No, they must have seen the riots and come here anyway. Let the police deal with them and get those maintenance doors shut and locked.”
Claire nodded and followed Daniels at a job through the school. It only took a few minutes since the hallways were empty. At the rear of the building, they turned right and went into the maintenance section, where all the electrical and power generators were at. Winding through the machines, they came out on a small loading dock. Claire motioned to the doors.
“We need to slide those together and then we can drop the safety bar and lock them down.” She grabbed her door and pulled it shut, despite its grinding on the metal railing. Officer Daniels did the same with his door and then pulled the safety bar down, which Claire locked in place. As they turned to leave, they heard the sound of gun shots, followed by a voice in Daniels radio. He grabbed Claire’s hand and they ran back towards the front of the school. As they approached the office, they found one of the officers who had been outside was being taken to the nurse’s office. Blood streamed from his hand as it was being wrapped up. They just caught the end of the conversation.
“She just bit me. I was telling her to get back from the fence and pointed to go back toward town and she reached through and bit me. It was reaction. I pulled my weapon and shot her, once in the chest. Claire looked out and saw a woman in a tore dress still trying to push her way through the fence. Blood was running from her mouth and the fence was ripping grooves in her arms.
“Are you sure you hit her? She seems still alive to me.”
The officer looked at Claire with wide eyes. “I know, but I put four rounds into her chest. It’s like it was nothing. She must be on drugs or something.”
By now, there were more than 40 people at the fence, pushing on it. Claire noticed that they didn’t seem to notice each other, but they just shambled at one speed.
Officer Daniels looked like he was reading Claire’s thoughts. “That fence won’t hold very long.” He turned to Ms. Devers. Do we have enough buses to get the children out?”
Devers’ voice was grim. “No, they usually drop them off and then go back to the motor pool, which is by the high school.”
“Well, then we will just hold out here until things get under control. We have more than enough officers to guard you.”
Just then, a car careened through the gate and rammed one of the police cars. Claire couldn’t see who was at the wheel due, but they didn’t move. The people at the gate took notice though. As one, they moved on the car and pulled the figure, now a young lady from the car. They began to tear through her clothes and at first Claire thought they were going to rape the lady. Her shock turned to horror as they bit her flesh, ripping chunks out of her skin. The lady screamed until her neck was ripped open. Blood was everywhere.
Officer Daniels was the first to open the door. His sidearm was already drawn and he charged the crowd, firing one shot into the air, and then took aim at the group. He put 5 rounds into the crowd, but they were not stopped. More of the people flooded through the hole in the gate. They overwhelmed Daniel, biting him on the legs and arms. Three more officers ran out, shooting, but only 2 of the people went down. The rest came on, being drawn toward the officers. The one with the shotgun put a blast into the chest of one of the beings at 10 feet. He flew back with a hole the size of a fist in his chest. Then he got back up and staggered toward the officer.
“Oh God.” Claire didn’t know if it was what the officer said or what came out of her mouth as she watched the other three officers go down under the way of people. By now, they were at the steps to the front door. Claire ran forward and slammed the door shut, it automatically locking. She looked up to see the first lady… the one who had bitten the officer staring at her through the door. Her skin was beginning to mottle around a bite on her throat and she just moan, more blackish blood dripping from her mouth. Then she began to slowly flail at the door.
Claire just backed away. She looked back at the only remaining uninjured police officer… and he looked as frightened as she did. The injured one was cussing up a store about the pain in the nurses office.
What would they do now?

It was Principal Devers that broke Claire out of her shocked state. Her voice was quiet, but tight. “We need to pull everyone up to the upper floors and barricade the stairs.” She looked over at the last officer. “Can you get us some sort of help? We need to get the kids out of here.”
The officer nodded and picked up his radio, trying to get any help that he could. Nurse Winters walked in from her office, her eyes rimmed with tears, shaking her head. “He’s gone. He just died.”
There was silence in the office as they all looked at each other. The officer looked puzzled. “No he’s not, he’s behind you.”
Like a slow motion horror film, they all turned to look at the officer as he staggered from the nurse’s office. Black fluid poured down his mouth and his eyes were grayed over. He didn’t seem to recognize them, but just opened his mouth and moan. He shambled toward the nurse who screamed and backed away.
A blast from behind Claire made her ears ring and she ducked away. A round went through the dead officer’s chest, but didn’t stop him. He just advanced on Ms. Winters. Another blast punched out the back of his skull and he dropped like a dead weight. Claire looked over at the officer. His face was white as a sheet and he barely realized that his sidearm was in his hand. Claire put her hand on his, lowering his weapon until he holstered it again. He looked at her. “He was dead, but alive. I couldn’t let him…” His voice trailed off.
“Thank you”, said Claire quietly, trying to break his gaze on his dead partner. “Thank you. You probably saved all our lives.” He nodded, but Claire doubted that he believed it.
It was Ms. Devers who spurned them into action. “The children.” They all looked over at the dead officer. “Can anyone else use a gun?”
Winters shook her head, but Claire nodded. “I’ve been trained.” She carefully went over to the body and pulled the service weapon out of the holster. It was a Beretta 92Fs, a 9mm. She also tugged out two extra magazines and stuffed them into her pocket. She pressed the release on the weapon, dropping the magazine into her hand, checking it. Then she pushed it back in, and chambered a round, and then put the safety on. “We will guard the doors, you clear the first floor and then the second. Then we can arrange the desks on the 2nd floor to barricade the two stairs.”
Ms. Devers nodded and then pulled Ms. Winters along with her. Luckily for them, there weren’t many rooms on the first floor… mostly admin, the cafeteria, auditorium, etc. As they made their way to the 2nd floor, Claire looked over at the officer. She noticed that color had returned to his face, but it was a sickening green color. She looked at his name tag, noting that his last name was Cooper.
“Officer Cooper…”
“Matt.”
“Matt, then. Have you seen anything like this?”
Matt shook his head. “Nope, but I can tell you one thing. It is spreading.” Claire was about to ask how he knew, but she followed his shaking hand to where it pointed at the door. It was crowded like before, but Claire noticed that someone in blue was at the front. It was Officer Daniels. He was back up on his feet and pounding on the door. Black blood stained his unform.
Claire was shaken down to her core. It wasn’t that they were dying, they were getting back up. She tried to remember what Jonathan had told her about one of his games he had played. “You got to shoot the zombies in the head or else they get back up.”
She looked over at Matt. “Shoot them in the head?”
He nodded with a grim smile. “I never thought that my nephew’s love of Area 51 would come in handy.” Claire patted him on the arm. She was lost for words at the moment. Upstairs, she could hear the sound of children in the hallway, heading toward the stairs.

Upstairs, the sound of shuffling feet and nervous voices could be heard. Students were asking questions and teachers were just shushing them. Claire knew that they were moving up to the 4th floor. She also heard the sound of desks being moved out of the rooms. She saw all the janitors and maintenance people running for the stairs. They would help clog the stairs with desks and chairs incase whatever they were outside were able to get in.
The banging on the door was incessant. By now, they could barely see out the door windows... blood and grime covered the glass. Claire was grateful for the reinforced doors and windows. Being in the downtown area, this school had been reinforced to guard against vandals.
"I wish we had those guns out there. They'd probably come in handy."
Matt nodded but didn't say anything. He was busy looking at the door, waiting for something to happen.
:: EDIT 03/02/2012 ::
A shattering of glass brought her attention back to the front door. The front safety glass had cracked and pieces had fallen out. She brought the gun up, but Matt put his hand on hers and lowered it.
"Shooting now will just draw more attention and panic everyone upstairs. I say we move upstairs. Maybe if they can't see us, then they will go away."
Claire nodded and they both made their way to the stairs. They made it to the first landing when the encountered almost every students desk being stacked on the landing. With Matt's help they were able to skirt the edge of the barricade and helped fill in blank areas with more desks. Up above, Claire could hear the students being moved up to the 4th floor. There was alot of hushed conversations.
After the student's desks had been dumped onto the stairs, filling it, they pushed 5 of the teacher's desks as far down the stairs as they could, trapping smaller desks.
Then they started up the stairs to the third floor, Claire had a thought that the others must have thought... What happens if those things make it up to the 4th floor?
