The Stryker was theirs…unofficially, as was the cube truck that Pat and Aya had hijacked earlier. Soldier’s had been cramming equipment and supplies for rebuilding the hotel’s first couple floors into the truck since the pair had gone off to save the marines and survivors, so now it just sat there dormant, guarded by two lone sentries. No one had gone to the trouble of turning the engine off however, and now she was out of gas.
“Alright people, first thing we need to do is grab the important gear from the cube truck and strap it to the Stryker. You three, follow me,” Pat grabbed three of the soldiers in the group and led them to the truck were the two sentries just eyed the four new arrivals carefully but didn’t move to intervene. Pat popped open the back of the truck, and relished in the metaphorical glow of its contents as his eyes roamed over them freely.
“There should be a couple infection scanners, and some heavy duty comms equipment. You three know what I’m looking for, and I want you to take all of that and move it to the survivors. Everything that isn’t electrical stays on the truck,” The three men got to work in an orderly fashion, with one of them sifting through the truck’s loot while the other two brought his findings to the survivors at the stryker. Back at the stryker Pat got the rest of the survivors to start attaching the electronics to the Stryker anyway possible using a about a half dozen bungee cords that had been stashed inside the vehicle’s crew compartment.
Standing away from the new crew, he marvelled at the group’s efficiency.
“Looks like we’ve got ourselves a hotel staff,” He prompted, just before a small scuffle broke out at the Stryker between a women in a green beret and one of the carpenters, regarding how one of the scanners should be attached to the APC with the last bungee cord they had. Most of the comms boxes were on the roof of the vehicle already, so Pat stepped in and told them to stick everything else in the back, since the ‘convoy’ would be moving so slow anyways everyone might as well walk to the hotel.
“Though if you feel yourselves getting a little tired, I’m not a cop so I’ll look the other way on car theft,” The captain broke a grin and a couple of the survivors laughed, albeit it just a little since the joke wasn’t that great, but it eased the tension in the group and allowed cooler heads to prevail.
“Oh wait! I’ve got just the solution!” Shouted the carpenter who’d only minutes before been on the verge of a fist fight with an amputee, and suddenly the man ran off away from the walls of the apartment complex, heading straight towards a brand new looking F-350. And just when Patrick thought it wouldn’t get better, he watched the carpenter start the engine with a set of keys he produced from his pocket.
“Well, looks like he’s saved Christmas,” And by the time he had brought the truck around behind the cube truck, the door for the bulky vehicle was being slammed shut, and the last pieces of equipment were being lodged into the Stryker. “Alright everybody, load up! And if there aren’t enough seats, cycle out between sitting and walking every couple miles,” Grabbing hold of a long line of cable extending from the cube truck’s convenient front winch, Patrick lashed it to the back of the Stryker and satisfied it would hold, made his way into the driver’s seat, shifting around equipment as he made his way through.
“You wanna gun, or stick with the survivors, Aya?”

"Actually I'd like to scout, Pat," Aya volunteered, "We'll be moving so slowly, we'll be a fairly vulnerable target. Plus the mountain drive has a couple of harsh bottlenecks while moving through the forest," she explained, "I'd rather nobody got hurt on the first trek. I can keep an eye out for infected movement as well," she snatched a pen flashlight from a satchel on the side of the rear end of the Stryker, "We can keep in radio contact, but I'll use this to signal my position for you if need be."
A certain fact they faced was she were the perfect candidate for something of this caliber; Aya was the smallest and most quick person among the convoy, amply carrying the appropriate equipment for it as well. It would make things a little more exciting at that, the primary reason she deigned to accept.
Smacking her hand against the ramp button before giving a brief thumbs up to Pat at the front of the Stryker, Aya hastily ran around to the front of the armored vehicle and started down the road away from the base of operations.
<Just follow my instructions and turn at whatever roads I tell you to,> the girl spoke to Pat through her radio, <If I don't give any instructions then assume you're to continue forwards.>
[The convoy has started off for the Arklay Mountains]

[Lauro, Jamie, and Grey have entered the Apartment Complex!]
After a tough, long day of working out and even doing what seemed to be quick sketches of random sceneries from about the city; the vast roads, the quiet nighttime sky, and the infernal reaches of fire--wait, fire? Did she really see what she thought she did? Quickly, Lauro de-Sica would move from the soft, comforting material of her bed and sheets from her sitting position, only to quickly, leaving a set of soft thuds of her own muscular bared feet against the wooden floor below, towards the closed glass window with a pair of navy-blue certains framing the very sides.
"What happened there..? Why is there an over-turned school bus, on fire?!", she let out in an alarmed manner, shocked at what she had just seen. Was there a riot, chaos, or even an accident outside her window just now? Little did she know that the "accident" was only the tip of the iceberg for what the night would bring...

Gray lay back on his bed, hands behind his head, relaxing. Some time had passed since his brief encounter with the odd armed lady at the library ruins, and the military had given him an apartment to stay in, happy to help with his investigation. His eyes were closed, blissfully drifting between sleep and being half-asleep after an awkward day avoiding zombies. Suddenly he heard a soft thud from the apartment next to his. One eye opened and stared at the wall seperating them. He hoped no more noises would bug him... Gray was a very light sleeper. Then he heard a faint murmur of speech from that same apartment. Great, someone that liked talking too. Swinging his legs round from relaxing, he wandered over to his window and looked out at the street. Things seemed a little more chaotic than usual, for a military protected area. Gray and his unnaturally high perception noticed that no more murmurs came from the apartment near him. Had this person talked to... Themselves? ...Odd.

Jamie had been booking it down the street with two others behind her while moving toward the apartment her brother was supposed to be. The burning bus had emitted strong bursts of heat that the teen could feel her flesh reddening and burning. Looking behind her shoulder, she'd watch the other two survivors struggling to keep up. "C'mon! Hurry!" she called, frustratedly. They huffed and panted, trying desperately to reach the apartments with the pink haired young woman but they just couldn't keep up. Reaching the door way, Jamie grasped onto the handles and pulled them open, rushing inside and sticking her arms out to grasp onto the others. One of them fell behind and tripped over themselves, two...of those damn corpses grasping onto him and ripping into his neck. The other person reached for her hand but as soon as her finger tips brushed against Jamie's an unseen undead had lunged on her from aside the building and took her down. "F*uckin' eh!" Jamie swore, slamming the doors shut behind her. She'd ran a shaking hand through her hair and tried to take a moment to register her current situation.

Hearing a door slam, as well as taking in the current sight of what had just gone down in the city. When she had arrived in this city to try and live a normal life--a fact that she regret--she had believed, at the time, that all of the undead were eradicated and the infection nullified. Quickly, after tugging on a pair of what seemed to be denim blue jeans, secured by a black leather belt that would hold the holster of her FN Five-seveN USG securely, she also would be heard, if loud enough, tugging on a pair of tan short-top boots as well as adjusting her form-fitting yellow short-sleeve with what seemed to be the high collar of a spandex sleeveless undertop beneath, and quickly dashed out of her apartment room.
While making her way quickly down the steps, knowing the elevator would attract attention from any that might have come through, her right hand was seen resting atop the handle grip of her gun, prepared to unclasp it from its confines for use...

Gray watched the commotion below in the street. Zombies... Here? That couldn't be good. The military didn't seem to have quite taken in the situation yet so Gray took it upon himself to deal with this. Having always been a fast runner, he bolted out of his room (leaving the door wide open) and down the stairs, taking them several at a time. On his way he barged past a teenager with bright blue hair, in a rush to avoid anyone becoming infected. As he practically hurled himself down the last set of stairs, he took his gun from his belt in one hand and his trusty crowbar in his other. A pink haired girl stood near the door, seemingly doing nothing. ''Out of the way!'' Gray barked before running past her and kicking the door heavily, causing it to burst open. About five zombies seemed to be right at the doorway. ''f**k!'' He shouted, expecting only a couple to deal with. Grayson let off three quick shots, easily scoring headshots at such close range. The other two zombies lunged for him simultaneously. A quick swing of his crowbar decapitated one, but the other hurled itself into him hard. His gun and crowbar clattered to the floor out of shock as he fell to the ground, the zombie on top of him. Gray desperately tried to keep away its snapping jaws, scrabbling for his pistol, but his hand meeting nothing but carpet.

Jamie stumbled back when this man bolted passed her and right before he kicked open the entrance doors, Jamie tried to scream at him not to, course he did anyway. He'd seemed to have handled the handful of undead but being too cocky would get you nowhere real fast. In this case, it happened as soon as Jamie thought it. The man dropped his weapons and had a zombie atop of him as he struggled to reach his things and keep the corpse at bay.
Jamie moved forward, unholstering her Colt and stuck the nose of the gun up against the side of it's head, blasting a bullet through and watching it fall limp on the man.
She'd glanced down at him and before further question, the sounds of churning metal could be heard, the elevator no doubt and as it came to a complete stop, the doors began to reel open. Prepared, Jamie had shut the doors and spun on her heel, fixing her aim on the set of elevator doors for whatever the hell or whoever the hell it was on the other side.
Her eyes narrowed.

Prior to the beautiful, elegant pink-haired woman shoved the door close, a faint, high-velocity sound was heard zipping past her form. The death-feeling groan of what would be a female zombie, whom was just prepared to shove open the door on her, toppled over onto its back at this point, its forehead with a small, gaping hole inside that soon ejected dark, crimson fluid that could only mean one thing coming from a body like this...
After the door was shut, a different, lighter metallic thud was heard upon the steps at this point, and the lone teenage woman the cocky male had zipped past before, with her shimmery aqua-green hair was seen holding a FN Five-seveN with both of her hands for a steady aim. After all, she did not want to be the one responsible for putting another life to death. "Are you two okay..ma'am?", she asked the other girl with a soft voice of concern, her optics being a magnificent cerulean and was seen casting themselves upon the two before her.
Surely enough, the elevator did ring open, and she, too, leapt beside the woman named Jamie, her own gun primed for shooting towards the elevator.

Gray pushed the limp zombie corpse away, blood from the gun wound splattering across his face. He stood up, disgusted, and wiped the blood from his face with his sleeve. The girl he pushed past appeared at the bottom of the stairway, killing another zombie before asking a question. "Never better." Grayson said grimly as the elevator began making a noise. He produced a cigarette and lit it, letting it hang in his mouth lazily as he picked up his own weapons and joined them in aiming his pistol at the elevator doors. Still, the day was looking up. Meeting two good-looking girls kind of made up for a zombie attack.

(OOC - Would that really work? It'd mean there'd be five people in one rp and it wouldn't make much sense for my character to just magically appear there)

When the doors had began to reel open, there was a child and wounded woman inside. It was easy to tell that they were still amongst the living, but woman didn't seem in such good shape. She was bleeding from her leg from what looked like a bite. Her daughter was a little thing, small, red hair and clear blue eyes, crying for her mother until she noticed the two.
"Please! Help my mama! Daddy bit her and tried to hurt us!" she pleaded. Jamie frowned and lowered her weapon, moving toward the two and crouching down to the girl's level to see the infected leg. It was swelling and bruising already. The bite was like a dip filled with clotting blood. A grim scene indeed.
Wasn't much to do but blow her friggin' brains out, but because a child was involved, it didn't seem appropriate to dispose of the infected woman right now.

Gray winced when the lift doors opened. Poor girl... He moved forward to the woman and lowered his voice very quietly, to stop the daughter hearing. ''...Surely you know what a bite means? Your going to turn into one of them. I'm sorry this happened to you. Is there... Someone else that your daughter could stay with?'' He didn't hesitate about being honest, but at least he was taking other people into consideration, for once. ''If there is, I could take her to them for you... Y'know, if it makes you feel any better.'' His cigarette dropped out of his mouth and he holstered his pistol, his expression one of sorrow for once. Realising that he might have promised more than he could deliver, he stood up and took a few steps backward, hoping that the girl he had just met might take over.

"I'd like to help..", came the soft voice of the beautiful teenage woman with a ponytail of aqua-coloured hair, her seafoam eyes up on the scene as she had reloaded the magazine of her Five-seveN with a new one, as confirmed by an definite click of a sound. She said this while slowly making her way towards the male she had just met as well as the other woman, a solemn expression on her face. How many instances of encountering the undead and killing the living would she have to go through. Well, best to get it over with..
She kneeled down softly in front of the infected woman, her voice soft and in a comforting manner. "Tell me..what is your favorite song..?"
