Dr. Wolf takes short, careful strides down the sidewalk, her Beretta Px4 at the ready. She is doing a daily search for survivors. Isobel walks from house to house, car to car, and looks into each window checking for any living being.
A 4-path alleyway between 4 houses in the middle of the neighborhood is filled with trash and has a very narrow pathway. "Hello?" Izzie called out down the alleyway. No response. She raises her pistol and points it out infront of her before proceding slowly into the alleyway. 6 small steps in, she hears a loud crash like an empty trash can hitting there floor. "Who's there?" Izzie shouts in a brave, strong voice. Izzie crouches low and takes cover behind a dumpster. Out from a blade holster on her left combat boot, she pulls out a small survival knife and angles it around the dumpster just enough to see the reflection of anything that may be lurking in the alley. She can see a dark figure behind a broken wooden fence, hiding. Isobel slides the knife back into her boot holster and raises her weapon once more. She swung out from behind the dumpster and pointed her weapon directly at the shadow figure and shouts "You, there!".

Its okay, ill stay with you until you want me to leave, alright?" Jesse shouldered the girl over his shoulder, making sure she was able to stand up on her own. Nothing was stopping him from just leaving her back at the apartment, but it wasnt fair to do that to someone who was so scared to die. He had to comfort her for the time being, even if it was consequences in the long time. Jesse could barely hold up his flashlight with one hand, both of his arms had be carrying the girl straight up. The street was unbelievably quiet and shallow, but the darkness plagued it into a fearful walk. Sometimes not being in danger only meant it could show up at anytime, from any direction, and not be seen.
The girl on his shoulder was caughing heavily, Jesse put her down against a stone wall on the side of the street, letting her rest for a bit. But she was at the point were there was no response, her time was almost up. Jesse made a promise to her sister, he would stay with her until the end, no matter what. Suddonly, he heard a voice coming from a nearby ally, and raised his revolver toward the opening. Peeking around the corner, he saw an infected walking through the shadows, and then the voice called out again. Grabbing a brick from the corner, Jesse moved up behind the infected, and then hit it over the head into the moonlight shining down in between buildings. Driving it into its head again, he finally dropped it, and then called out himself while move back to he girls side. "Dont shoot, im not infected!"

A survivor hm?, Isobel thought to herself. Isobel raised her other hand up to her pistol and steadied her hands, increasing her accuracy if she need fire a bullet. Isobel called out "Who are you? Are you a citizen? Are you with anybody?" in a concerned, yet stern voice.

When the female voice called out to him indirectly, Jesse put his revolver in his jacket pocket, and bent down to pick up the girl once again. "Names Jesse, and yeah, im with her..." Finally getting to her feet, Jesse had the girl back up on his shoulder, and walked back into the light, not showing the other survivor that he was holding a wounded girl. "I found her back at my apartment, the place was overrun, I didnt know where else to take her..." As he spoke out, Jesses arm gave out, and he dropped her down, now just holding her up with the strength of his one arm alone. Leaning into the brick wall, he tried to position himself upright again, but was finding it hard to do.
Just when everything was happening so fast, there was more sounds of dragging and moaning coming from around the corner, and shadows of the undead could be seen stumbling into the open. There was at least three of them, and they were getting awefully close. Adreanalin kicked in, and Jesse picked the girl up with both arms now, carrying her in his arms. He had to get her out of here, and fast. "We have to get her somewhere safe, do you have a vehicle?" Jesse yelled out in a strained voice, moving as quickly away from the infected as he could.

Isobel heard the moaning of zombies from several different directions. She ran toward the voice she heard previously and rounded a corner. There, roughly 20 feet infront of her, she saw the man she had spoken to making his way down the alleyway as fast as he could, the infected stumbling after him. "Get out of the way!" Isobel shouted as she took aim with her pistol. The man obeyed and swirved over to the side of the alleyway.
Isobel pointed her handgun at a zombies legs, the head being too hard to hit at such a range. Hitting anything else would've been a waste of bullets. Isobel fired off three bullets. The zombie directly behind the leading one fell to the ground after the second bullet, causing 2 more infected behind to tumble over it. The third and final bullet instantly found it's home in the kneecap of the leading zombie. It's leg gave out and it fell to it's knees, moaning. Isobel darted to past the the two survivors and quickly aproached the kneeling zombie. Isobel swung her knee at the waist level and slammed it into the zombie's jaw, breaking his neck and creating a satisfying crack noise that slammed against her eardrums violently. With 4 other zombies now in close range, Isobel took aim with her trusty handgun once more and fired one bullet at each of the zombie's heads, not missing a single shot.
Isobel holstered her pistol and rushed towards the two survivors. "No, I don't have a vehicle. Even worse, I came alone. The best I can do is call for helicopter pickup. It may take some time for them to arrive, let alone find a radio signal. Come on, hustle. There'll be more of them coming soon. Do you have a weapon?" Isobel spat out, still high with adrenaline.

Dodging off the to side, Jesse heard the gunshots whizzing past him, and knew they were hitting the infected behind him. The woman was obviously a good shot, because she continued to fire rounds, taking them all out judging from the silence after each shot was finished. Jesse carried the girl to the end of the ally, but was a little dissapointed when the survivor had said she didnt have a car. "Yeah, theres a gun in my jacket, reach in and grab it if you need it. My hands are a little full." He spoke in a non joking tone. It wasnt that this girl was that heavy, but it was still a lot of weight to be carrying and running with. He couldnt even run, only walk fast, in fear of tripping and spilling her onto the ground.
As Jesse crossed the street, there was a fence leading to the next ally. He stood in front of it, trying to kick the fence door open with his leg, but proving to be more a challenge. "Hey come on, help me get this open, we can lock it from the other other side!" Jesses arms were getting very tired, but he wouldnt let the girl down until they were safe. The female survivor opened up the gate, and held it open while Jesse moved through, laying the girl down on the concrete while the woman locked the gate up with a chain and padlock. "Are you a cop or something?" He assumed she either that or military, judging by the clothing, but even moreso, it was her shooting that gave it away.

"You're close", Izzie responded. "My name is Dr. Isobel Evelynn Wolf. I'm the captain of the S.T.A.R.S Medical and Assault team from Seattle, Washington Headquarters. I'm searching around town for supplies and survivors", she continued.
"Are you injured?" Izzie asked.
"What about that girl?", Izzie began. "What's wrong with her? I've got some supplies in my pack so I may be able to help."

STARS? Didnt think they were still around. Not since the outbreak of 1998, anyway. Well whatever, whoever this woman was with, she wont be able to help. These is no cure for the infection, is there? "Dont worry about me, im fine, its the girl. She was bitten a few hours ago, but hasnt responded to my voice for about a half an hour now. I think its gonna... Well, you know..." Jesse was a little sad to know that she was going to move onto the afterlife soon, but he didnt have it in him to shoot her, not until he was sure she was one of those monsters.
However, there was a sharp sting in his leg where Jesse ripped it on the corner of the window getting out of the apartment. Blood was soaking his jeans, and through the tear, but he was concerned about the girls sister now. She was in rough shape, but Jesse was happy he could keep a promise, and stay with her until the end. Its what her sister would have wanted. Leaning against the wall, Jesse ran his hand across the cut on his leg, and saw the blood in his palm, but tried to hide it from the doctor. "You dont have anything to treat it, do you? Must be hard being a doctor, and not being able to save everyone..."
A loud rattle had put him in check, and Jesse nearly jumped for his gun. But it was just two of the infected banging on the fence, they wouldnt be able to get inside, and he knew it. In a sense, they could probably smell his fresh blood a mile away, they seemed to be drawn to him more, but he shook it off and went back to the girls side.

"A few HOURS ago?!" Isobel exclaimed. "...how the hell is she still breathing?".
Isobel turned to see multiple zombies throwing their bodies against the metalic fence. She arose to her feet and reached behind her back. She pulled out a small carbon grip Tactical ASP Baton and slid it open, extending to 31 inches long. She walked over towards the zombies while they thrashed against the fence. The fence had very small spacing between the bars and not much more than a hand could get through.
"You want this?" Isobel said, obviously disgusted, waving her hand infront of the zombies. Isobel began playfully twirling her baton around. After the fifth or sixth twirl, Isobel shoved it between the bars and swung it vertically, smashing into one of the zombie's skull and caving it in. She retreated her weapon and shoved it through once more, cracking it against the side of the other zombie's head. Both fell to the ground, twitching. Isobel swung her baton out to the side and blood from it splattered against the concrete. She collapsed the baton and attached it to her belt once more.
Isobel turned around and faced Jesse. "We'll keep her alive as long as we can". She let out a long sigh and walked over to Jesse and joined him against the wall. "Fine, my ass. That leg, we've gotta do something. That, right there, is a one way ticket to infection. Any saliva or blood of the infected gets in there, you're a goner." Isobel laughed.
Isobel opened up her medical pouch and pulled out a suture kit, antiseptic, and bandages. "This is going to hurt" Isobel told Jesse. "Like hell". She opened up the bottle of antiseptic fluid and poured it along Jesse's wound. Jesse let out a yelp of pain but quickly bit down on his lip and held in the pain. "Breathe", Izzie said softly, calming Jesse. Izzie began suturing up the wound and was done in no time. Wrapping of bandages followed.
Izzie began speaking, "So what's the story with the girl, exactly? I can understand wanting to save a life, even if you don't know the person. But... I wouldn't expect that from... well... not from a Civie. What's special about her?".

Jesse watched as the STARS member did her work on the infected just outside the fence, but it was no use kill them all, they wouldnt get inside anyway. As she sat next to him, she mentioned about his leg, and that she was going to fix it up. He would rather her not waste time with his own wounds, he knew how to handle himself. But it wasnt a matter of yes or no, she was going to do it wether he liked it or not. Jesse wasnt hasnt had a leg wound sutured in an ally before, only at the hospital, and it wasnt his leg. The pain was fairly brief, but it hit his nerved none the less, and he couldnt help but make a small but audible sound.
Afterward, it seemed to be much better now, at least the bleeding was stopped, but it would effect his walking. As the doctor asked about the girl, Jesse really had no idea who she was exactly, but there was nothing special about her or anything. At least, thats no why he was keeping her alive. "Her sister lived next door to me. When she came over to my apartment not long after the outbreak started, we went looking for younger sister. But, things happened, and I was told to watch over her. I couldnt just leave her, I had to do what I could. She was bitten, but seemed fine to me. It wasnt until not long ago that she couldnt walk though, which made things harder. I could feel her changing, but all I could do was keep moving until theres no use."
After telling his story, Jesse looked at the younger girl, she was going to change in the next twenty minutes, maybe sooner, but not any later. He was grateful to have found a doctor, and even more grateful that Doctor Wolf was in STARS as well. It meant there actually was people out there willing to help those in need. The next question on his mind was why she was alone. "...Hey, dont you have a team or something with you?" Jesse didnt want to sound a little rude or anything, he could manage with a large group. He seemed to do fine on his own. But if there was backup, that meant they would have a better chance of getting out of Raccoon City alive.

Isobel listened as the man explained the story with the girl while more and more zombies gathered at the gate and threw themselves against it. "I hesitate to take her with us... but that girl deserves to see her sister again...", Isobel said with sorrow.
"As for my team", Isobel began. "They refused to come with me. Well, I didn't force them. I wouldn't force them to come on a suicide mission. Hell, even if they offered, I'd probably turn them down. And me coming out here is usually pretty useless. But I know that the day I decide to stop, someone is going to die out here because of it. I have myself dropped off by helicopter early every morning at around 5:00AM and stay until about 7:00AM. I had just got here when I found you. By the way, call me Izzie. I usually demand to be referred to as 'Doctor Wolf' by anyone other than my friends. Though, anyone as heroic as you is a friend of mine. You saved that girls life and you didn't even know her."
Isobel stood up and reached around her back for her handheld radio. She extended the reciever and attempted to contact HQ. "HQ, come in." Isobel said into the device. "I repeat, HQ respond!" Isobel repeated. She waited for what felt like minutes for a response. Damn, nothing, just as she had feared. "Just as I thought, the radio is out. I can never get a signal around this part of town. How convenient!", Isobel exlcaimed sarcasticly. "Looks like we'll be traveling on foot", Isobel said to Jesse.
"Problem is, my helicopter doesn't come for another 2 hours and it's not like we can stay here now that we've got the whole damn horde gathering up around us. We need to get out... fast. There's an apartment building a couple blocks away. Last time I checked, a week or so ago, it was deserted. I might be able to get a signal from on top. If I can't, we're screwed. I told the heli pilot to assume I was dead if I didn't meet up with him within 20 minutes after landing. And since he won't know we're heading to the mall, he'll assume I'm dead. Aaaand we're pretty much screwed. And the only military encampment or place of safety I know of is roughly 25 miles away. That's not really walking distance. Unless you've got a better plan, I suggest we get going."

Jesse listened to Izzies story, and was honored to be able to stick around. It was noble of her to put her own life out here, just to find people like him. But now, this apartment she spoke of. It just so happens that it was probably the same one that he owned. It wasnt as abandoned as they wouldve liked to think, but it was the safest place as of now. They couldnt just stay here, the infected would find a way to come around, and then they would be cornered in the ally. But moving the girl would be a little risky, she was out cold, and anymore activity would be dragging her on senselessly.
As to almost go along with his words, Jesse turned grabbed onto the girls arm when he saw her start to move. "Hey, kiddo, how are you feeling...?" However, there was no response. She seemed to be in a lot of pain, though, judging by the mumbling and light moaning. "Come on, lets get her to that apartment..." But as she stood up with Jesse, the girl fell into his arms once again, unable to stand up or move. Jesse was about to crouch down to pick her up, but she stumbled into him, and knocking him against the wall. "Easy, easy!... Let me carry you, okay? Dont hurt yourself..."
The girl finally opened her eyes, looking at Jesse with a hurt expression, tears welling up inside her blackened eyes. She was exausted from the events prior to tonight, she looked like death itself. But thats when it hit him. Before he could do anything, Jesse was pushed to the ground, the young girl holding his arms down while her face fell forward, biting at his jacket. "Sh*t, Izzie! Do something!"

Isobel, seeing the girl attack Jesse, jumped to her feet. Isobel grabbed the girl with both hands by her neck. The girl squirmed and twitched and fell out of Jesse's arms. As the girl fell, her elbow slammed into Izzie's face. Izzie fell to the ground as well, hitting her head against the concrete. Before she had time to react, the girl was already grabbing at her boot, trying to bite. Luckily, her combat boots were thick enough to not be punctured by human teeth. Izzie slammed her heel into the top of the girl's head and returned to her feet once more.
She quickly reached for her baton and extended it. The girl, laying on the ground, was trying to get a grip on her boots. Izzie raised the baton into the air and slammed it down onto the girl's skull, blood spraying across the concrete. Surprisingly, the girl was still alive and hissing. She slowly started returning to her feet. Before Izzie could raise the baton again, zombies from the other end of the metal gate had reached in and grabbed Izzie's legs. When Izzie tried to walk forward, she fell face flat on the concrete, unconcious.
The baton flew out of her hand and skid across the concrete, resting near Jesse's feet. Isobel was out of reach from the zombies on the other side of the fence now, but was only but a foot away from the girl who was now reaching to take a bite out of her shoulder. If Jesse did not react quickly, Isobel was sure to be bitten and become infected.

Jesse grabbed the baton from the ground at his feet, and held it with both hands. Gripping both sides, he put it around the girls neck, and pulled her off with it. Her arms clawed the air around him, but wasnt able to reach him. He threw the girl into the fence, dropping the baton and pulling out his .38 revolver. He held it with one hand, and shined the light on the girls face, seeing it all messed up form the attack before. Two things entered Jesses mind. He wanted to save ammunition, he only had two more speedloaders, along with the bullets in the gun. But this was an excuse, he didnt have what it takes to kill her, at least not shoot a young girl. She couldnt have been older than 18 years of age, which made things even harder.
Before making a move, the girl had sprung forward batting the gun to the ground with her own body, and then topped forward, gripping Jesses pants. The jeans were tough, and could withstand the sharp nails grinding his left leg, breaking on contact from the infection weakening them. Using his other foot, he boot the girl across the legs, knocking her to the ground as her knee snapped upon impact. Jesse grabbed the baton, and slipped it inside his jacket, then lifted Izzie by the shoulder and began to drag her along with him. The teenage girl was crawling toward them, but wasnt moving nearly as fast as they were, so Jesse could get the doctor to the apartment. Or so he hoped...
~~
Upon entering his room, Jesse lay Izzie down on his couch, and then locked the door solid. There were a few infected banging to get in, but the doors were made of hardhood, and wouldnt be able to break no matter how hard they tried to get in. Jesse went back over to the couch, and lay Izzies legs up as well, not caring about her boots getting on the many papers that piled around the armrest. At this point, Jesse lay down on the floor, the couch was the only other thing in his apartment to lay or sit on. Looking up at the ceiling, he thought back of that girls sister, her young face still looking at him with sorrow in her eyes. Then he looked at Izzie, she took a nasty fall, who know how long she would be out for. After lowing his breathing, Jesse found himself dozing off, still laying on the floor beside the couch under the doctor.

Izzie awoke several hours later to complete silence. She knew right away that she had fallen unconcious and was now in Jesse's apartment building. The infected that Jesse claimed were here previously must have found their way out of the building. Jesse was still asleep. Izzie's baton was laying on the arm rest across from her. She grabbed it and attached it back to her belt. She then unlatched her belt and took it off then layed it on the ground next to the couch. She pulled her medical pouch off her shoulder and threw it on the ground next to her belt. Almost comfortable, she kicked off her boots and curled up on the couch before dozing back off and sleeping more peacefully. Jesse and Izzie uninterupted for the rest of the day.
