With a stretch of his arms, Jesse opened up his eyes, and sat up from the floor. Izzie was still fast asleep. Looking outside of the window, and seemed to be getting very dark outside, which made for an ominous feel to the city. Light rain could be heard patting against the window, but out in the hallway as well. Getting to his feet, Jesse noticed the door was wide open, which made him nervous about wether or not he should go any further without waking up Izzie. Grabbed enough courage, he moved outside into the hallway, and looked back and forth down the dimly lit hall. The window at the end was wide open, and a lot of rain was pouring in, soaking the ground. Jesse walked forward, and pulled at the bottom, sliding it closed as tightly as possible.
Suddenly, there was a flash of lightning, and a loud crack of thunder booming in the air. It almost seemed as if it hit the apartment itself. A scream came from inside the room, which set Jesse right off, grabbing the revolver from his jacket and running back down the hallway to his room. Upon getting inside, Izzie was nowhere to be found on the couch. In her place was same girl whom asked to take care of her sister. It was almost as if everything that happened today was a dream, a nightmare. Looking to the right, Jesse peeked inside his workroom to see if Izzie might be in there. But when he turned back, it was Izzie who was still asleep on the couch, and reassured him that he was just imagining thing, and it was getting the best of him.
The window outside in the hallway burst open again, and heavy rain could be heard patting inside on the floor again. Jesse went back out in the hallway, and instantly closed it shut, searching for a lock or something to keep it from opening again. Thats when Jesse felt two arms grab around his neck, rubbing his chest. "Jesse, come back to bed, all those stories you write are getting to you..." Jesse turned around to see who it was, but there was nobody there, it was all just in his imagination. Walking back down the hallway, he was about to turn into the room, but the same sound cracked behind him, the window was open again. Turning around with an annoyed look on his face, he was shocked when there was the same girl grabbing onto his throat. Pushing him to the ground, she was choking him with all her weight and her hands. He felt a knife drive into his stomach, and the womans tears dropping onto is face.
But then Jesse work up, gasping for air, and holding his stomach where the knife was stabbed inside of him. After catching his breath, he used the sleeve of his jacket to wipe away the tears from his face, which were actually beads of sweat from the violent episode. Everything was just a dream. Looking up, he could see an arm just hanging off the couch. Getting up to his feet, Jesse saw that it was in fact Izzie, sleeping peacefully. He lay back down, breathing normally, and wiping away the last but of sweat from his face. The apartment was dark, the lightning lit up the room every now and then, but more importantly, the door was closed and locked. Not getting up to his feet, Jesse walked around the couch to the kitchen area, but turned back to the couch and gave the woman a little nudge on the shoulder. "Hey, Izzie, wake up." Flicking on his flashlight, Jesse pointed at her face quickly, but then moved it around the the room to light it up fully.

Izzie jolted awake and immediately ripped the pistol out of her holster and pointed at the dark figure that had awoken her. The figure held up it's hands just before coming into view and saying "Woah, woah! Izzie it's me!". Izzie let out a long sigh, holstered her pistol, and layed back down, turning on her side. She reached over her head, stretched, yawned, and said "What's the matter...?". She saw the look on Jesse's face and immediately sat up. "You look ill", she said, obviously concerned. "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost... or a zombie", Isobel joked. Jesse looked frusterated. "Here," Isobel reached into her medicine pouch and pulled out a large bottle of water. Izzie tossed the water bottle to Jesse.

[Krall has entered 12th Armstrong St.]
The power of all the buildings briefly went out, soldiers in Humvees flew by on the street. Something about a 'Code V' being shouted into radios. Several squads of soldiers made their way hurriedly to the check-points, running in formation with assault-rifles drawn. "We got confirmed explosive detonation at the power-grid's source, one confirmed dead B.O.W. type 3, code-name: 'Gigante', Checkpoint 13." their radios blared.
Amidst this sudden rush of chaos a sudden quake shook the ground, this stopped and continued irregularly. Sometimes stronger, sometimes weaker, until finally the ground began to crack. The crack went down the street, causing water to blast fire-hydrants skyward, knock down light-posts, and cause general chaos. As soon as the sudden geological disturbance had started, it stopped. The mild quakes continuing with it's usual irregularity after that, almost like something was moving down there.

Putting his arms down, Izzie finally lowered the gun, and then began to talk. But, she just woke up from a nasty fall, she shouldnt be moving so fast. Catching the bottle of water, Jesse look a look at it, and then walked forward, laying it on the side of the couch. "You keep it, I have my own. Never know when youll need it... But thank you." This was true, Jesse had a fridge full of water, he knew he would be returning back here. So in that event, they would be able to take it with them, and all the food that was still left over, that hasnt gone bad. Put it all in a backpack, and they would be good for a few more weeks.
Jesse walked around to the side of the couch, and picked up handfuls of papers that were laying around, trying to gather them all up into one ordered pile. They were actually all over the place, he was never very tidy with his work. Not this untidy, they were scattered around because of the struggle a few days ago when he left. It would take him days to put them all back in order.

Izzie put the bottle of water up to her lips and took a swig before putting it back into her pouch. She began to stand up off of the sofa, but was stopped immediately by Jesse who told her to lay back down and that she had hit her head. "I'm fine", Izzie grumbled. Jesse insisted that she at least relax a bit and have a bite to eat. Izzie obeyed and half-layed down up against the arm of the couch. "I guess I am a bit hungry", she said. "I've got dehydrated noodles and dehydrated beef but that's about it. You got anything better?", she asked.
Just as she finished speaking, a loud crashing noise came from the floor below. A woman screamed in terror. The screaming was quickly muffled. Moaning could be heard from down the hall. Isobel lept off of the couch and readied her weapon. Jesse made a gesture for Izzie to come over to the other side of the apartment, near the kitchen. She backed up slowly, pointing her gun at the front door. Suddenly, with a loud crash, the door flew open and several zombies tumbled in.
"Sh*t! I can't hold my gun steady! I can't get a clear shot!", Izzie shouted nervously. Izzie fired off several bullets into the fallen zombies. None of the shots were fatal. "Damnit!", she yelled. "My head is killing me!". Izzie holstered her pistol and reached behind her to grab her ASP baton. She then realized that her tactial belt was underneath the coffee table infront of the couch which was now behind one of the zombies. Multiple zombies rose to their feet.
With a battle cry, Izzie ran at one of the zombies and grabbed it by it's neck, disabling it's ability to bite. She slammed the toe of her boot into the leg of the zombie and it lost footing. Izzie now holding the zombie up by it's neck, she slammed it's head through the glass coffee table infront of the couch. With the glass broken and most of the weight of it gone, she lifted the small & flimsy coffee table off of the ground and threw it into the group of zombies, knocking them down again. Izzie grabbed her belt off of the floor and reattached it around her waist.
"Jesse, come on!" Izzie yelled, now heading for the door. "Grab what you need - your gun - and come on!"

Yeah yeah yeah, just go... Ill catch up!" Jesse rushed the woman out of the apartment. Backing into the kitchen, he ripped open the door, and grabbed the whole shelf of water in both arms, then ran into the workroom. As he closed the door behind him, Jesse could already feel them starting to bang on the outside, trying to get in. Pulling out a small duffel bag from under the table, he put the water inside, along with a can of coffee, and a few packs of potato chips. He also grabbed a stack of papers, and threw them in the side pouch, he could go through them to see what he still had left later. Slinging it over his shoulder, Jesse whipped around when the door burst open, two of the infected stumbling in.
Knocking over his computer in front of them, it blocked the path, while he ran out onto the balcony. Looking down, he knew it was way too high to jump off down below. But, the infected were coming, he had to do something. Leaping over, he placed his feet on the siding, and shimmied his way across to the window sil next door. The infected were pouring out, arms extended, trying to grab at him, but were out of reach thankfully. Jesse tired not to look down, he knew it would be a fatal fall if he did drop. Moving| around, he saw it was the end of the line, he would have to make a jump for the next balcony. Gripping the bag with one hand, and swung it over, watching as it landed nicely. But he was set off balance, and forced to jump forward, now hanging on the steel piping for his life. "Gahhh, Izzie!"

Jesse told Izzie to start running and that he would catch up with her. Izzie hesitated, but obeyed and ran out into the hallway. She pulled out her ASP baton and extended it. She looked around for stairs. A sign pointed around the corner. Izzie ran across the hall and around the corner. Infront of her were 2 sets of stairs. One down, one up. Sh*t!, she thought. What floor are we on?!. As she was deciding, she heard several crashing noises. Alarmed, she ran back around the corner and got a view of at least 8 zombies in the hallway infront of Jesse's apartment 2 of them entering the door. Before she could think, Jesse cried out her name. Izzie's adrenaline began pumping. She looked in all directions to decide where the sound had come from. It sounded distant.
She ran down the hall towards the zombies. Like a basebal bat, Izzie swung her ASP Baton and caved in one zombie's head. Even though her head throbbed and she was in an immense amount of pain, she continued attacking the group. She slammed the baton into the knees of another zombie and it fell to the floor. She followed up with a blow to it's skull. She swung her baton again and hit the next zombie in it's kneecap. It fell to it's knees. Izzie took a step back and swung her leg in an upward motion, slamming the toe of her boot into the neck of the creature. It fell backwards and started convulsing. The remaining zombies were a bit of distance down the hall and posed no threat for the moment. Izzie ran into Jesse's apartment to see the fridge wide open. She ran into the kitche and peered out the window.
Outside, she saw Jesse hanging off the balcony of not his apartment, but the one belonging to the apartment down the hall. Izzie yelled out Jesse's name and he turned his head to see her through the window. He was struggling to hold on. Izzie ran back out the apartment and down the hall. She attempted to open the apartment down the hall. The doorknob didn't budge. Locked. F*ck me, Izzie cursed in her mind. She slammed her baton into the doorknob, took a few steps back, and kicked the door. It broke partially off of it's hinges but refused to open. Izzie turned around took a few steps down the hall. With a loud grunt, she charged the door and flung her entire body against it. Pain filled her entire body, mostly her shoulder.
The door flew off of it's hinges and fell to the floor. Inside, a man hung from a rope attached to the ceiling fan. He had hung himself, commited suicide. Izzie ignored the body and immediately ran to the balcony. Jesse hung from the balcony, holding on tightly. "Hold on, Jesse!", she yelled. Izzie looked off over the edge of the balcony, and to her compltete and utter horror, noticed that they were on the seventh floor. Izzie reached over the edge with both arms and grabbed Jesse's arms tightly. Using all the energy in her body, she pulled Jesse up over the railing and onto the balcony. They tumbled backwards and back inside.
Three zombies had already entered the apartment and were now lunging at both survivors. Without enough time to use her baton and without a steady shot, Izzie was helpless. If Jesse didn't act fast, they were both sure to be an easy meal.

It seemed like hours he had been hanging from the ledge, but Jesse was only there for a minute or two, holding on for his life. One of his fingers slipped, and he fell down a few inched, but cause one of his hands on the lower bar of the balcony. He couldnt pull his other arm up to grab on, he could only hope that Izzie heard him yelling. Looking down, he saw the street far below him, and was getting sweaty. The sweat formed on his palm, and his grip was loosening, he knew that he was going to fall. Closing his eyes tightly, Jesse prepared to get go of the railing, but his arm was grabbed by someone. Looking up, he saw it was Izzie.
She had pulled him up to foot level, and Jesse was now able to keep balance. Being assisted up, they tumbled onto the ground in a pile. But seeing the infected enter the room, he gasped over his breath, and scrambled off to the side. As her pulled out his revolver, Jesse fired a round into the face of the one that came forward, and pushed it into the others, grabbing Izzies hand and pulling her up to her feel. He was ready to give the girl a hug for saving him from his instantly death fall, but knew it wasnt a good time. Holding the revolver with one hand, he fired off two more rounds, flinching his eyes as each one went off. Grabbing a lamp from the nearby table, he swung it at the remaining undead, glass driving into his skull. "Screw off!"

Now that Izzie was up on her feet again and the zombies posing the most immediate threat were dead, they were free to run for the stairs. Running past the hanging man and out into the hall, they made their way to the stairs. Up or down. Izzie took a moment to think and made the connection that the streets would be infested with zombies and that they must be coming from the ground floor. Obviously up is their only option. Izzie began running up the stairs and Jesse followed. Several flights later, they reached the door to the roof. The door was locked. Suddenly, Izzie and Jesse noticed the zombies that had been following them up the stairs. They were closing in. Izzie frantically looked around.
Over in the corner below a ventilation duct hatch, a sharp, crowbar-like tool used for opening the ducts was leaning up against the wall. Izzie ran over and grabbed it, then returned to the door. The zombies behind them were only one flight away now. Izzie jammed the duct opener into the non-hinged side of the door and began pushing against the tool, trying to pry the door open. Right as te zombies started climbing the last flight of steps, Izzie managed to get the flimsy metalic door open. Jesse and Izzie ran out onto the roof and looked around.
Over on the far side of the roof, a fire escape beckoned. Jesse immediately knew what Izzie was thinking. They both jogged over to it and released a lever, letting a ladder slide down to a metal platform. As fast as they could, they both climbed down the ladder and onto the platform. Izzie stepped off the ladder first and the metal screetched. As soon as Jesse stepped onto the fire escape with her, the metal screamed and began to collapse. They quickly moved on to the next ladder and climbed down to the next platform. Several ladders and platforms later, they reached third floor level platform. With a terrible, ear shattering sound, the platform collapsed and Jesse and Izzie slid down it like a ladder and rolled off down onto the ground, mostly uninjured. Zombies were throwing themselves off of the roof of the apartment building and hitting the ground with a gut-wrenching mixture of cracks and splats.
Suddenly, a staff used back door crashed open behind them. 10... 20 zombies flooded out of the building faster than Izzie or Jesse could've expected. They both began slowly backing up. The zombies began to pick up pace. Izzie and Jesse both turned around and broke into a run. They ran out into the streets and started running south. In the distance, 5 or 6 blocks away, Maple Tree Mall stood partially in ruins. It was obviously where they would be forced to take shelter at next. There should be plenty of space and supplies... hopefully. Though, it would be the most obvious place to be looted. And no doubt people originally took shelter in there. It could potentially be littered with infected. Izzie didn't care at this point. Zombies seemed to be coming from all directions.

After grabbing the duffelbag, Jesse followed Izzies lead the whole way. Shes done so much already, but it was easy to see how she got into the STARS unit with her quick thinking and action taking. The slide down the ladder was a little difficult, he found himself slipping every now and then, and forcefully grabbing tightly. Hes never done anything like that before, not even back during the 1998 outbreak. Plus, carrying the bag was challenging, it had to be at least 80 pounds on his shoulder. Jesse wasnt very strong, either, but he managed his way down onto the street level.
Pulling the duffelbag tightly onto his shoulder to get a better grip, Jesse took a breather, paying close attention to what Izzie was doing. He would hate to be left before unintentionally. When they ran off down the street, he had no idea where they were going exactly, bit figured that Izzie had somewhat of a clue. When things slowed down a bit, Jesse trailed behind the athletic woman, and spoke out in a cheerful voice. "Hey, um, Izzie... Thanks for helping me out back there..."
[Izzie & Jesse are now at the Maple Street Mall]

[B5 Floor, Eden Corp.]
Krall exploded from the tile as the BSAA Agent moved into the floor above. He let out a loud roar, his prey would not escape that easy. Tearing an infected in half as he brought one claw down, he began to burrow again, creating a massive hole as he dug his way out of the ground surrounding the Eden Corp. buisness and warehouses.
[12th Armstrong St.]
The ground began to crack as he moved toward the surface of the 12th Armstrong St. outside the Eden Corp. buisness & warehouse facility. A Humvee that was speeding down the roar suddenly found itself pinned to the ground as a massive stalagmite like claw erupted from the earth and pinned down the vehicle. The men scrambled for their weapons as the rest of the beast emerged, the claw pinning it down lifting as the creature stabbed four claws into the vehicle. Krall lifted the Humvee with four of his eight claws and hurled it at another incoming Humvee. Both cars spun through the air and caught fire, exploding moments later.
Soldiers standing nearby began opening fire, Krall moving over to them with surprising speed. He knocked one soldier firing a machine-gun at him with one of his claws, the soldier flying into a wall with a loud splat. Another one opening fire on him with an assault rifle quickly was nothing but a pile of bloodied, unrecognizable organs and bodily fluid when a claw smashed down upon him. Finally a soldier down the street bent down and fired an anti-tank missile at the creature. Krall, using all eight of his claws, leaped over the missile and landed several inches from the Soldier, taking the boozoka wielding service-man in his mouth and consuming him armor and all in just two bites.
Krall than lifted all eight of his claws, smashing down on the tar & concrete street several times until it cracked. He promptly burrowed beneath the ground as two more Humvees turned the corner, arriving only in time to see a centipede like appendage disappearing beneath the street. As the Humvee's avoided this pot-hole and continued down the street, Krall followed the vibrations beneath the ground, moving closer to the surface. The street bulged with a tremor in front of the Humvee, the truck hitting the improvised speed-bump at top speeds and spiraling into the car in front of it. Then, for a moment, everything was silent.

Allison and her companion have entered 12th Armstrong St.
Allison casually trotted down the alleyway stairs leading to a firm, metal door. The door was slightly ajar.
"Good, won't have to worry about breaking it down." Allison said out loud.
She slowly pushed the door open with one hand, holding her revolver with the other. She slowly walked into the dark room, light now flooding in from the open doorway. The smell of burning plastic filled the room. Allison flicked on the light switch on the wall next to her. The building was in ruins, computer equipment destroyed, chairs tipped over, bodies littering the floor. A lone infected stumbled slowly towards Allison. She holstered her revolved and slid the knife out of it's sheath from her thigh. Allison walked towards the the infected, retracted her arm, and thrusted her knife into the skull of the infected, killing it. Allison held a tight grip on the knife and the body slid off onto the floor. She sheathed it and called out to her companion.
"We're all good. Not much of a 'S.T.A.R.S. Safehouse', if you ask me."

Holding his .45 pistol tightly with both hands, Louis came into the wrecked building with his newly accustomed partner, Allison. The place had been fairly dark, especially with no power, and the deeper they went inside the less and less sunlight could guide their way. Flicking on the small LED flashlight on his gun, Louis could hear the infected, but before he got visual, Allison had already took it out silently with his knife. Hearing her comment, he responded it, with a serious tone. "Nothing much left now. Not sure what happened to this place, youd think whatever it was STARS couldve handled it. Just remember why were here..."
It was kind of interesting, Louis never really could trust Allison as far with as far as her plans were. What she told him and what shes actually up to are completely different things, so he would just pretend to be going along with her for whatever reason she gave. To make things more complicated, Louis was here for his own reasons. Regardless, the pair worked well together, knew how to survive, and not let anything stand in their way, be it human or BOW. Each of them had a mission of their own, but where both took them to the same place, things could work out either way. Louis might not trust her right now, but theres no reason not to trust her. Its a neural relationship, sometimes that brings the best out in partners, not letting personal feelings get in the way of a common goal.

Allison squinted intensely, trying to see in the dimly lit room. She crouched down by one of the bodies.
"Hey, point your flashlight down here."
Louis prompty did so, and Allison didn't see what she had expected.
"These aren't dead zombies. These were the residents of this safehouse-- they're S.T.A.R.S."
Allison looked around at several other bodies in the room, all of them were fully equiped S.T.A.R.S. members. Their corpses were charred, as if burned alived.
"These bodies can't be more than an hour old."
A chill ran up Allison's spine as a soft buzzing noise began somewhere in the back of the building. She whipped out her revolver and pointed it toward the noise. Suddenly, the lights flicked on. They weren't very bright, and they flickered every couple of seconds, but the room was now fully lit. She returned her revolver to her lower-back holster and arose to her feet.
"Guess they had a backup generator."
A thin cloud of smoke lingered in the room. The walls were blackened, the carpet non-existant, and the plastic shelfing and refridgerator melted. Smoke was slowly rising from everything, including the bodies.
"What the f**k," Allison blurted. "It looks as if someone came in here with a flamethrower and burnt everything to hell. So much for stocking up on supplies."

The flashlight shining around the room in all the right places, Louis paid attention to what he saw, and kept an ear out for any other moaning or footsteps. It wasnt until the power came back on, or at least a good 35% of it, due to the low humming sound coming from the backup generators. "Yeah, two of them, at least. One of them isnt working, just the place is only running on one third of its original power." Due to his previous job, electrical work and engineering had been his specialty, and he knew exactly how much power the place was getting and where it came from. As for everything else, though, the fire that quickly spread not long before they arrived, as a complete mystery. "My only guess is somebody didnt want any evidence... Of what, thats my only question..."
Louis kicked open a door into another room, only to have it pretty much fall into ashes on the ground. Shining the light inside, he looked around the very dimply lit office, seeing if anything had been left unharmed by the fire. Some old sports magazines, maybe salvageable computer Hard Disks, if he was willing to take them apart. But Louis was here for anything like that, he was were for a certain someone. The corpses out in the hallway had been unidentifiable, but that didnt mean there hadnt been survivors here, at least proof of the kill. Most of the contracts didnt state the kill had to be made by him, just that it was set in stone, this situation being no different. "Whoever was responsible for burning this place could be still around, seems to have a lot of passages that couldnt have caught fire from the concrete walls. in place."
Tracing his fingers across, it was only slight black char, but some of the offices in the next wing hadnt been touched, strangely enough. "Hey, come check this out." Several doors had been locked, which could be good or bad. As Allison turned her attention to the wing Louis was on, he spoke out once again. "Doors werent even opened, stay frosty, I dont like the looks of this one bit..."
