So it's been confirmed via twitter that the voice actors for Claire and Wesker haven't done any voice acting for the game, so they're not going to be showing up in it. That is, unless they got brand new voice actors so I'd say it's now a 50-50 thing. sin, it's been confirmed a prequel (to RE5) unless Capcom releases a story change or admits to a fault in what happened there. The information posted is so far the official storyline unless something changes down the line

What makes me not really discounting the prequel idea but doubting if it is the huge differences between the two scenes themselves. Namely if the scenes where in game I would bet that they would be the same color definition yet one of the scenes clearly has a more faded look to it, which in most cases are used for Flashback purposes in visual media. Now I won't argue the time line information its why I only have a doubt that its a prequel instead of an outright denial that it is, but I could picture Capcom placing a very useful one year passing when Leon listens to that conversation to the point where he is now facing the president with a gun. I doubt the President would decide to reveal the truth about Raccoon City then wait a year or two before finally getting his act together. After taking a closer look at that segment of the trailer again I noticed the woman with Leon appears to shoot the President. >> And hot damn has the movement premium been lifted. Leon and Chris' acrobatic stunts certainly change up the pace of the game. Hopefully Capcom actually stick with what they show this time. I got the same impression with the RE5 trailers when Chris leaped over rails and all sorts of stuff. From the looks of things Co-op will still be as Co-op as Co-op could ever Co-op. The lady with Leon would be his supporting character, Ashley would be Steve's supporting character, and Chris' squadmate would be his supporting character. >>>> Looking over the beginning once more. There's the briefest moment when letters etched into stone show, it looks as if it says 'President Adam [insert surname here]', so that's sort of intruiging. Not to mention ironic. A burial for a zombie?

It's apparently been "confirmed" by IGN's sources that the blond girl is in fact Sherry Birkin. IGN's ArticleI don't believe this, personally. Only confirmed by sources isn't much of a confirmation to me. EDIT: Whereas on the Operation Raccoon City facebook page, it's been confirmed to be Ashley Operation Raccoon City Facebook post. So, who's more believable here? Someone working with Capcom or a game report?

Well Sherry was 12 at the time of the RC incident and this is ten years after so she would be 22. It could quite possibly be her. Now we only need to look at how old the woman looks.
The woman herself looks quite young so I can see it being Sherry, but the voice could also match up more to Ashley more.

The facebook post might be jumping to conclusions, while the IGN source might be wonky. Let's decide ourselves. As CK said, Sherry was 12yo during the first biohazard. Ashley was 20yo during Leon's rescue in Spain. Going by the statement of it being set in 2008, That would put them 22yo and 24yo respectively, so the appearance of the young woman in the trailer could fit either of them in terms of age. Her voice acting certainly made me think of Ashley when I first heard it, although it does seem to miss the whiney nag she had during most of RE4. Unless she grew a pair of brass ovaries between now and then the voice could suit an older Sherry just as much as a slightly older Ashley. Also, I realise this might be contradictive of me after stating it is not a good method of comparing characters to come to a conclusion way back when RE5 speculation went abroad, but... quoting Luis Sera: "Well, I see that the President has equipped his daughter with ballistics too!" Unless Ash decided to get breast reduction surgery the blonde girl's figure would be more suited to Sherry. Seriously, she has some huge bajoongas in RE4. Another shot I kept tuning into near the end of the trailer was this one. It's a vague shot of a hand covered in blood, the glove matching that of Steves (Blondie's is closed fingers) while the fur collar in shot matches Blondie's from previous shots. Might foreshadow a near death, or mortal situation. Something else which popped into my head was the premise of those two characters being together. If the bald guy is in fact Steve, it might vindicate the young woman being Sherry. Both were taken captive by Wesker; both may have gotten to know each other and plotted their own escape.

Also on a side note Sherry has grey eyes, and this person seems to have grey eyes also.
Ashley on the other hand has brown eyes.
Also note Ashley also hase very distinctive round ears. I don't see the this girl with those ears.
Also on the note of hair color Ahley has a bit of a more yellow yellow hair. This girl has a lighter yellow hair.
Now onto other appearences. The nose between Sherry and the girl look very similar.
The eyebrows on the other hand fit Ashley more.

It's called fluorescent blonde, and Sherry could very much have that after 10 years. Although at the same time it looks like it could be dyed with brown regrowth at the roots. >> Check out this interesting little tidbit: au.ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1216844p1.html- "Any of the three main story branches will be selectable early on in the game, allowing players to see each storyline through to completion before starting another one." - "We're also told Ada Wong will have a playable role in the game, though not immediately."

Calling it. Superhuman guy is Steve. I was right about tube-girl being Jill, I'll be right about this too. If THAT'S Steve then he just got himself a new fan girl.

And if it is Sherry then the circle is complete. Sherry annoys claire as an annoying follower. Claire loves Steve. Sherry finds her way to Steve to be an annoying follower for him. It makes sence now .

Y'know Capcom should think about flipping that number upside down (and horizontally). That's the true number of titles in the main storyline.
