First off, the game has a major design flaw that completely b*tch slapped my progress on building this thing. First room, no problem, had it pretty right. West wing, yeah, was all good. Then I realized, the west wing, it all loops around, and connects back to the main hall.
For reference, if you havent seen the map in a long time.
Now heres the kicker. Theres a ramp that goes up about a quarter floor in the main hall, to where the secretaries desk is, behind the fountain. Theres a door on the west wall up there, leading to the staff section, where you find that dying police officer, Marvin.
Below the ramp is obviously the door leading to the box, and then to the licker encounter, then to the barricades were arms grab you, and then into a hallway. Down that hallway, it leads to the evidence room, then that loops into the room where you find Marvin, then back into the main hall.
However.... If theres a ramp in the main hall, then how is all that connection perfectly without any elevation changes anywhere else? ITS MINDBLOWING. You dont notice it when you play, cause all the loading screens between rooms. But building it, to scale, all for wall, you notice that you can go from one door to another without an elevation change somewhere.
Now, say I added in an elevation change somewhere, that would balance it out. Where id put it? Maybe have a room somewhere that you dont see in the game that ramps up a some point in it. that would make it connect on the first floor, but the elevation change would apply to the second floor too, so id have to make it even higher up. Which would throw the whole thing out of proportion, even for a Minecraft build.
So, I have parts of it done. Ill post what I have. I went all out on the main hall, thats about it. But im not working on it if its gonna be incomplete regardless... NEXT PROJECT?
PS: Ive a feeling I posted some of these somewhere else on here...
