"I'm sure dear, if your people can scrounge up some form of long range radio equipment, I'm sure we could do something, unless they would be willing to put up armed trade caravans to come here."

"With the route we took here, that may not be a bad idea. Lots of roamers, that was for sure. Although we need to make on a map where that minefield was. Looks like there are plenty of them still active out there."
Polly knew the settlement had some form of communication with the outside world, but she wasn't sure it was powerful enough to reach the settlement they were at now. She had never attempted to operate it, she only knew the channels they monitored and broadcast on. It was something everyone that went out on runs was required to memorize.
"We can go and see if we can reach them. If not, I think the armed convoy wouldn't be a bad idea. Get people out of the settlement more if nothing else."

"or perhaps a radio relay at that town we passed through? that is if they let us back in."
they soon said their goodbye's to the old woman, and left for the local bar, where they had agreed to meet up with the others.

"Now, before we go in, tell me no one is going to try and kill you? I mean, come on, they know you right? Your reputation can't be that bad here."
Polly held the door open for Katya as they went into the bar, ready to duck in case something or someone came flying at them. She was hoping for at least one uneventful night out. She knew the odds of that were low though. The price of being the property of a warrior woman she supposed.

"very unlikely. I kinda fought everyone to a standstill last time. anyone with a grudge after that should know to just let it out with a few drinks." as she said the last bit, she opened the door, and promptly ducked under a stool chair. it appeared there was a large brawl going on, tables, chairs and drinks were being thrown around, the waitresses and the bartender staying out of it. spotting a couple unbroken chairs next to the bar, she pulled polly over avoiding the brawl. "hey travis, been a while. 2 beers please, and whats the night's special?" "its beef steak with sweet potato mash, fresh green beans and peppercorn sauce." "I'll take it rare. Polly?" she asked, turning to her lover. polly saw her eyes flash with anger before her hand whipped next to her head. turning, she saw that Katya had caught the blade of a knife that had been about to hit her. "Travis, could you please let Polly come behind the bar?" she said politely, though both polly and travis felt shivers up their spine. "sure. Miss could you please hurry back here before you get hurt in the coming storm."

Polly didn't need to be told twice. She quickly jumped behind the counter and crouched down, not wanting to be any larger a target than she had to be.
"Oh, god please don't let her kill someone today."
Polly grabbed a bottle of some brown liquid, she was guessing whiskey. It was the easiest to make, and she had seen it was plentiful here. She nodded to the bartender, popping open the bottle and reaching up for a glass again before pouring herself a glass.
"Um put this on her tab. I have a feeling she has at least one here."
A body was flung over the bar, and landed with a bone crunching thud. She checked the man, while bloody, was still breathing, and let out a sigh of relief.
Sticking her head over the bar, Polly watched wide-eyed and drank while Katya cleared the bar of the rowdy partiers. The first she saw go down with a kick to the knee that looked and sounded painful even from her vantage point. The next was hit over the head with a table leg and dropped like a sack of onions. Her warrior mistress was far from over, grabbing one man by the scruff and throwing him bodily into the man behind her, sending both tumbling out the door. One last fighter looked at her, at the knife that matched the one Katya had caught, down to the one in his own hand and simply dropped it, raising his hands in the air.
"Don't kill him! He didn't mean nothing by it!"
She gave the woman a lopsided grin and finished her glass, wondering if she should get another one. The man was already forgotten, and she was licking her lips at the prospect of another drink while her owner decided what to do with the man.

she lifted him up by the throat up against a strong support beam, and slammed the dagger blade first through his collar into the wood, his legs dangling. "If any of your knifes, and foul words or insults come near my girl over there," she picked up his dropped blade and placed the point on his belly. "I will gut you like a stuck pig, with a blunted, rusty blade." she stabbed the knife into his sleeve again onto the pillar, and went back to polly. "thanks pet." she said smiling as she took the glass of whiskey.

"Wow. I really wasn't expecting that. Not the whole bar clearing scene, just...you know, you leaving survivors. I just be rubbing off on you. This is definitely new behavior."
Polly poured herself another glass, watching as two men limped off and out of the bar. She gave them a wave as they went, knowing they must have already thought she was insane for being with Katya. May as well play the part she thought to herself as they went a little faster.

"I simply didn't want to spoil your dinner." she said draining the glass. "put the damage, drinks and meals on the others tabs, I'm sure they wont mind."

"Thankfully they're still able to pay right?"
Polly smiled and finished her own glass, feeling a little tipsy, but not as bad as before. She was going to get used to drinking like Katya, well, at least close. There was no way she could drink the adopted father under the table. She'd die of liver poisoning first.
"So, what are we having for dinner? Just curious."

"Rib-eye steak, rare, with sweet potato mash, fresh green beans and pepper-corn sauce." she raised her freshly topped up glass, "Plus whiskey."

"Ugh. I drink too much of this and I'll have to be carried back to bed. Not that you'd mind. You'd just test my clothes off and tie me to the bed."
Polly came around the bar on unsteady legs. She had been drinking pretty heavily all day, and food sounded both delicious and dangerous at the same time.
"I'll eat but not a lot. Don't want to get sick."

"I think you should start drinking water," katya said, taking the glass from polly. "and you should eat everything on the plate so you sober up quicker." soon enough the food came. the steaks were larger than normal, must have been butchered within the last day.

"Oh, that looks good. Alright, I can drink plenty of water. But you are going to have to make sure I make it home alright. My mistress would ahte if I didn't make it home tonight."
Polly gave her a wink and tucked into the steak first. It was juicy, the first one had eaten like this in years. Most of the meat she ate was dried, good for traveling with. But to be able to sit down to this...it was like a feast! And she didn't have to cook it!

Katya tucked in. she really liked the food in this bar. the rare steak with peppercorn sauce was delicious, as was the sweet potato mash with fresh green beans. they were about half way through when the other came in.
"Wow katya, first time back and you half destroy the place." Jake said coming in with Cassandra and aleksander.
