"Not a lot. But I don't think she knew the other woman. And I don't know her, so I don't...really know anything. I'm sorry. I don't think she's going to hurt anyone here. And, well...I mean look at me, how harmful can I be? I'm not even five and a half feet tall!"
Billie made a dramatic pose, showing that of the three people in the room, she was far smaller than the other two adults in the room. Taka seemed to tower over here, and the woman, now standing, was easily two or three inches taller. She wasn't sure she should have told him that the other woman wasn't dangerous, and she hoped that wouldn't come back and bite her later.
"So, what happens when we go back out there? Warm hugs, hot chocolate, or more of these cages?"

The honesty had been more refreshing than anything else, especially as of late. Taka was thankful to have the news for everyone else about Billie, who seemed like she was going to make a good addition to their team. She might not have seemed like much, but how it worked these days was if your managed to stay alive this long, you must have been doing something right. As for the other woman, it was still too early to tell. She looked to be eyeing her surroundings, which seemed more normal, almost as if she was calculating what happened next. Taka got good at reading people, and even if he didnt read trouble, she could definitely be it. Though it wouldnt have been a good example not to treat both of the women as equals, especially since either of them had actually done anything.
Thats when Adams spoke up for herself, and it almost caught Taka offguard when she did. "I dont expect you to give me my gun back, but the rest of my sh*t? It better be at my feet in the next five minutes, man, or your not getting anything from me." The look on Billies face said it all, but Taka was a little concerned with what she meant. Not wanting to mess this up and need to get Mathos involved, he looked at the both of them, and nodded, heading back across the block to the tent her bag was dropped off. Soon as he stepped away, Adams looked at Billie, stepping within breathing range so she didnt have to talk loud or look out of place trying to whisper. "He seems to be playing ball. I dont know about you, but- Actually, I dont care, nevermind. You want out of here? Follow my lead. If you plan on sticking around, well, good luck with that. Alls im saying. Youre either with me or against me, so you better make up your mind before he gets back with my gear.

"I don't know if it is any safer out there than here right now, but I don't think they're going to just let us leave. Between the traps, their hunting parties and the dead outside, I don't think we'd get far. I'd rather be here. At least I don't have to worry about being eaten alive in my sleep."
Billie looked over her shoulder, not seeing Taka coming back yet. Thy had some more time to be candid before the man came back and the decision, or whatever plan the other woman had, would be implemented.
"Besides, if he wanted to hurt you, or me, he wouldn't have sent me in the cage to talk to you. I really think he means us no harm. Sounds like he's trying to change things around here."

Oddly enough, the community was quiet, and judging soley how far it was lit up, Adams figured the surrounding fencing hadnt been too much. But she knew where they were, or at least sort of. In the mountains, more than likely between them, with the ravine running all the way up to Colorado Springs. That was where Paramore was taking her, the base couldnt have been more then a days walk northeast, so thats where she was going. The plan didnt change. "Well then thats that; should make walking out of here all the easier." Adams wasnt really thinking about hanging around either way, certainly not with fancy pants, Billie whogivesash*t.
As if to chain things together, Taka came back with the small sports bag, and holding the revolver. As he got closer, he dropped the bag onto the ground between the two of them, and then handed over the firearm. I unloaded it. You can find the bullets in a plastic bag tucked in with your things. Next order of busi-" But Taka had been cut off immediately after that. "Sorry not sorry, but im head north, ill take my chances. Adams lifted up the bag, and then began to walk off, but Taka stopped in front of her. "North? To Springs National Guard? That would be a bad idea. he looked at Billie, wanting her to tell explain, this time with a lot more detail. It was in both of their interests to hear what happened up that way. Adams wanted to push past, and like she said before, take her chances. But at the same time, she wanted to hear her out, because there might not be anything left to loot.

"I came from there. It belongs to the dead now. The military abandoned it a week ago, and then the fences gave out a few days after. I barely escaped, I don't know if anyone else did. If you're going that way, you're just going to die. You're gonna wanna stay here."
Billie looked down at her boots and tried not to remember the panic, people running in all directions with whatever supplies they could carry as the fences were ready to topple, and the screams of those that couldn't get away from the advancing dead. She had managed to slip out, but wasn't sure where everyone else in the group had ended up. She had given up looking for them after the first day, and started making her way to Boulder, but she had evidently taken one hell of a wrong turn out in the woods. She felt one tear slip down her cheek and let out a quiet sob before she wiped it away and tried to steady herself.

I see the look in your eyes, and I also know that the sweater your wearing comes from a correctional facility. The patch on your arm reads 'Adams', so if thats your name, then it means you must have one hell of a story to tell. Stay here the night, sleep on it, and if tomorrow youre still insistant on heading up north, we can come with us. Were going to be puttng together a team to check it out for ourselves. You can come along. This isnt me giving you permission, these is me pointing out the fact that there are safety in numbers. Taka stated, making sure to take control of the situation, and they both of them had been included in what he was trying to accomplish. [For tonight, both of you need sleep, especially you, Carver. That trailer over there has two beds, take this time to recover.[/b]
Adams really didnt like how thi ngs were going, but she would have to make it work. Well sh*t, thats just great. Some sort of divine justice I guess, or something more along the lines of me winning, F*ck you, Agent Paramore, and f*ck the United States of America. Adams spoke swiftly, not really caring if she upset Billie anymore, or talked down to people that Taka might have been involved with. She definitely wasnt about to explain herself, or her situation, but it looked like at the very least, she needed another excuse, and this one was going to be quick. Tossing the bag further up on her back, Adams put her arm around Billie in a playful manner, not to console her any, intentionally anyways. "Come on, kid, lead the way. Lets do what the man says and get some sleep. She said, leading Billie toward the trailer, watching Taka from the corner of his eye all the way to the door.

Billie walked, sniffling a little and feeling oddly better to have someone holding her, even if it was someone that was a former prisoner. She wasn't sure how long it took to get to the trailer, but when she got in everything seemed to be robotic to her. She undressed, climbed into the bed, and just curled up. It took a while for her to finally fall asleep, but when she did she went into a deep, deep sleep.

There hadnt been any conversation once they got inside. Bellie seemed to just pass out almost immediately, while Adams had been sitting on the single matress at the end of the hall. There didnt seem to be anyone else in the trailer, and there werent any lights on either, aside from what came through from the spotlight near the fence. It lit up most of the living room, but her eyes had already been so adjusted that navigating around in the dark seemed second nature. She rummaged through the bag, grabbing for the bag of ammunition and the pistol, loading in eight rounds into the small snub nosed revolver. It wasnt something Taka mentioned, but in the bag had been two canteens of water, and a few different types of chocolate bars. It wasnt much, but it was something, and it made Adams believe that he was serious about working together. Which almost seemed like a waste giving her the supplies when she didnt even have any intentions on sticking around. If anything, she needed to get back out there and get her bag, but could she do it before daytime even if she managed to sneak out undetected?
A longer analysis of the entrace gate from the window showed two towers, but only one spotlight. One would have been the lookout, and the other a sniper, if they did things right. Which made sense that they would. The gate was easy enough to slip through, but there must have been a reason they hadnt parked the truck in front of the opening just yet. It either meant somebody was still coming back, somebody was heading out, or they really didnt get much undead around here to worry about it enough. Fortunately for her, it didnt matter, it just made getting out a cake walk.
Adams didnt even take her bag, just the revolver. She would be back in time, no doubt about it, it was a quick over and back run. All that it meant was she wouldnt have time to get any sleep in, but it was well worth getting the agents bag. Slipping her slender body through the open window, Adams made a slow jog to the gate, waiting for the spotlight to move before slipping out and around the fence. Once she knew she was clear, she made a full on sprint, or at least as much as her feet would take her before slowing down to a jog again. The only time consuming part would be locating the tracks again, but so long as she could do that, finding the box car would be fairly straight forward. It was only a matter of getting back before sunrise, so she could slip back in without anyone knowing she was even gone.

Morning came sooner than Billie would have liked. When the run began to shine through the window, she slowly blinked her eyes open and began to stir. She suddenly shot up, grabbing the blankets and covering herself as she tried to take in her surroundings. After she remembered how she had gotten to the trailer, and that for at least that moment she was safe, she climbed out of bed and gathered her clothes, heading to the bathroom.
After she used the facilities and got dressed again, she found a new toothbrush and some deodorant, taking the time to clean up as best she could and make herself look presentable. Finding a razor and some shaving cream, she took the time to do some more cosmetic touchups before putting everything away and leaving the trailer, looking around and trying to figure out where she would find Taka in the unfamiliar compound.
"Well, I guess I'd better go exploring. Looks like that's what Adams did."

It was most definitely a long, rough night, and not a bit of sleep. The weather seemed to stay away, but it only brought on the cold temperatures of the Colorado mountain scape. Must have been late September, but honestly, it wasnt like people were keeping track. Nobody really had time for that anymore, and even if they did, it wasnt like it mattered any. Still, the thought crossed her mind at least twice since the start of the global outbreak, the thought that with no electricity, and batteries dying out sooner or later, time would almost be as if it was standing still.
Pushing those thoughts aside, Agent Paramore jumped down out of the tree that nearly grew over the fence of the community walls, knowing the ones in the tower at the entrance would have seen her by now. And just as predicted, they did. When the signal was relayed to Taka, he knew exactly who it was, or at least had a really good guess. "I dont believe in coincidence, but, Adams didnt mention you were part of the BSAA. Shes in the trailer, still asleep from what I can gather. She was out cold when she came through the gates, maam." Taka spoke with respect for the soldier, but not wanting to go into much detail. He wanted to make sure everyone stayed level headed. Though the Agent was mostly lucky that Mathos and the others already left for the gully, and prepare for the treck north to Springs.
We'll be out of your hands soon, I promise. She didnt give you any trouble?. Paramore seemed almost shocked, and not wanting to waste any time, she found the trailer he spoke of soon as the local shook his head in compliance. Another woman had just stepped out, so likely she was the one who was the most at risk. With her machine pistol in her hands, Paramore approached the female with authority. "Step back, civilian. This might get ugly....

"Okay, easy! She's not in there. I think she got an early start or something!"
Billie kept her hands in plain sight and moved away from the door of the trailer so the woman could see that it was empty. She had seen that look on others before, and knew getting in the woman's way would be bad for her health.
"Taka, what's going on? Is this the other woman you were looking for?"

As much as she would have liked to trust her, Paramore had to be sure, entering the trailer with ehr gun drawn. It was small, and a quick thirty second sweep made it clear that she definitely hadnt been here. But what she did find was the bag of hers. It didnt make entire sense to leave it if she left for good, but either way, Paramore strapped it over her shoulder and continued to think to herself about where she could have gone, along with searching for more clues.
"Seems like it, but she seems to know her well. The patches show that shes with the BSAA. Even through the end of the world, I would assume them to be keeping the piece. Whatever business she has with Adams is none of ours, but obvious she hadnt been telling the truth..." Taka responded, assuring that things were okay. Hed been the only one in the community to deal with the BSAA both before and everything everything ended. He even had a cousin who enlisted for the cause when things were getting really bad. The BSAA were a very tactical military organization, so they were both right to stay out of her way.
But something wasnt right, because it wasnt like the BSAA to operate like this after the downfall. The agent had been going through an aweful lot of work to locate the other woman, and no matter her reasoning, regardless of her previous authority, she wasnt on any legal grounds to do what she was doing. If Mathos had been here, things would have went a different way. So Taka had a thought cross his mind, and he knew that Billie would benefit from it too. "Last night, we had a team sweep the area for the origin of that flare. It came from a cluster of abandoned traincars less than three miles from here. All of our scouts already left up north, so, can I ask you something? Do you think you could check out the traincars? I have a feeling thats where Adams is, and I really dont like the way this agent is conducting herself. You can take a rifle, if you have to. I would go with you, or go myself, but I need to stay here to watch over the place."

"You want me to go back out there, with her? And those things?"
Billie paced a little, looking over at the fence, and then back at Taka, chewing on her thumbnail as she weighed her options. If she wanted to stay in the community, she needed to show that she'd be willing to help with whatever they needed to her to do. On the other hand, going back outside of the gates meant that she was going to have to run into whatever was dead and hungry, and then there was Adams...
"Alright. Give me the rifle, and we can go out and find her. I don't want to be out after dark though. So I guess we have better get something to eat for the road and get moving."
She tried to put on a brave face but she couldn't hie the tremble in her voice.

Ask the men by the gate for a scouting bag. Itll have some emergency supplies, but most importantly a radio and some MREs. You can eat one on the way there, or at least enough for breakfast. Heres that rifle, too. Taka handed over the semi-automatic, knowing she would be able to handle it no problem. There had also been seven in the clip ready to go, and two more full clips attached to the stock. He hoped that Billie knew how to load from the top, but probably wouldnt need to even use past the seven inside it. They were larger caliber seven point six two rounds, so be it undead or living, one shot would do the trick. You should definitely go now, before that agent comes back outside. Just try to find Adams, but if you cant, grab whatevers in the traincars and haul it back. Radio me when you get there, or if anything comes up.
Taka felt confident in the newcomer, enough to send her out there prepared. Adams wasnt the priority, but it would be best if they were aware of the situation in full. But if Billie could make this supply run, she would have proven to Mathos that shes more than just another mouth to feed. Once he had walked away back toward the trailer, he went onto the radio to let the entrance guards know that Billie was coming for a bug out bag. Once he hunt up the radio and stood in front of the door, however, he was beginning to feel like maybe going inside the trailer was a poor idea.

"Alright. I'm armed, supplied, and ready not to die. Wish me luck."
Billie felt better with the rifle in her hands, and began heading towards the gate with the BSAA agent. She was glad she wasn't going out alone, and if she was lucky they'd be back home before nightfall with either the supplies, Adams, or both. Which reminded her, she needed to know exactly what to expect. While she wasn't a hardened survivor like the others, she at least had the sense to find out what was waiting outside for her.
"So...what did Adams do? I mean, she seems like a big deal so she has to be wanted for something huge."
