Taka really hoped that he would have been able to go with them, but everything just happened so fast, and he was needed up north with his own group. They had already planned on making the trip, but knowing the place was overrun made things a little more complicated. Living off the land only got someone so far, but without the base, they were definitely on their own for the long haul. However, the more pople that could contribute, the better. Mathos didnt seem to know that, or maybe he did and he was just too stubborn to admit it, but the reality was each person they could take it meant a lot. Billie was no different, especially knowing that her mind hadnt become corrupt by the end of the world. When she got back, Take would have already made arrangements that she be welcomed by the people, especially now that Mathos wasnt here to object.
As they walked, the younger woman questioned why Adams had even been the subject of a manhunt from the BSAA to begin with. She wasnt stupid, so Paramore couldnt whitewash anything for her. She wouldnt have a need to anyways, with the BSAA no longer officially active, none of it made a difference in the end. "Ive been with the BSAA for a long time, and a lot of that time had been spent preventing domestic bioterrorism, the things our media does get hands on. Two months ago, an outbreak occured in Las Vegas, seemingly originating from the Detention Center. We had reason to believe that Adams had been conspiring with a group of individuals that were former members of Umbrella. Im sure youve heard about Umbrella. We couldnt get them all, and it came back to bite us in the ass..."
Still wallowing in her thoughts from before, Agent Paramore finished her answer swiftly. "...But I guess none of that actually matters. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in case you didnt already know, this outbreak is on a global scale. Its out of our control, had been for over a month now." It didnt get any easier saying it, but most of the time people already knew, or at the very least figured it out once a few months passed and nobody came to rescue them. At least people were already coming together and making it work. Still, it would raise the question of why she was even tracking Adams down, and that had to be answered.
"Theres no handbook for any of this now. I worked for an agency that always did what they needed to do, but there are no police, or military. None that actually hold title, anyays. The reason im still out here risking myself for make sure I find Adams is because she wasnt just accused of conspiring with bioterrorists; she was in that prison for killing twenty seven people. She was only a few months into her sentence when the outbreak hit. The rest is a little hard to follow, im just following the steps I would have to make sure shes dealt with accordingly. The entire time, they had been walking, and Agent Paramore was telling the story. They had already gotten to the tracks, and now it was just a matter of following them to the boxcars.
