Hey Everyone,
I was reading over some unfinished posts (mostly ending in 2015 and 2016) and came across an idea for a long term sim, but I wanted advice about it first.
Has anyone ever try to sim setting up a small village with the 2012 or 2020 timelines? Would anyone be interested in that. It still doesn't have to be a town of 50,000 it could be 30 to 100, with most just being NPC.
My idea was to set the timeframe in 2017, 5 years after the virus destroyed everything. The town, Paradise (or whatever) could be in the upper Northwest, like Montana or in Canada. Most weapons we use have been reverted back to bow and arrows, but we still have guns and bullets... just very careful about using it.
I got the idea from the Rot and Ruin series of books.
Please give me your thoughts.

I have also thought of going to a now time arena, but to do that, since the resident evil realm was totally destroyed, the only way to really do that is to jump dimensions.
Realistically unrealistic, for this to work, we may need to do some research into the virus itself, how it works, how long it lasts, if it replicates or mutates to survive to changing situations. As far as we know, according to the books, it decays after a few months, without new hosts, which is one reason why the G-Virus was formed, so new hosts could reproduce and instantly form the perfect predator. The end result of a successful outcome would be a species that can effectively reproduce. Of course, without a human like mindset, the species sets tech evolution back. It's really messed up.
If you read into why the scientists did what thy did, like Weskers Report (the detailed one), and some of the notes the scientists leave behind, their comments during game play, etc, you find they mostly wanted to force evolution, or create the perfect predator for warfare, or make money. Either way, they failed in the end, ending humanity.
The main reason no one role plus after a period of time is because no one has made it that far. Not even the movies, or latest games. The world is literally destroyed. The only pockets of civilization that would logically exist and be able to maintain themselves without viral problems would be the Arctic areas, Iceland (with proper greenhouses for food production), Hawaiian islands that got blocked off or secluded, (intrnally those islands would have food and population problems, which would lead to bad situations), New Zealand would fair well, if they blocked the borders/airports and ports, but even the seas would eventually grow infected, but not for too long.
Sharks and predatory fish could spread the virus far out to sea, and infect the world. Plankton, seaweed, or anything alive could contract and transmit the virus, but very small bacteria that rival the size of the virus itself could possibly neutralize it, or a new bacteria or microbe could evolve to consume the virus itself, causing a balance through natural selection. Imagine having a bacterial serum administered to a viral infection, like how maggots are administered to some infections.
Zombies and new species (monsters) are easy to kill off with weapons and fire, but on the micro scale, they are not, especially if things like plankton spread it to whales, shrimp, fish, etc. If it is G based, things mutate fast, and that's why the resident evil world is literally destroyed. No one can keep up with its constant mutations and fast paced evolution.
Eventually, the world will be of a new evolutionary selection. It is the end of humanity. The only thing for this new life to do is to evolve, grow a new sense of self awareness, and have creatures eventually evolve into intelligent beings, to form new societies, and new civilizations. But that is millions of years into the future. By then, what was of human society will be gone, consumed by weather, plants, the virus, and time. Life will have to rediscover civilization again. Who knows, maybe aliens will visit and get infected, lol. Perhaps we are of a long lost alien viral bio tech experiment that went wrong and evplved form bacteria into what we are now, or not.
Another way to make things unrealistically legit is to implement multidimensional traveling, as I did with the role plays that I game master. JDrew has a character on the verge of discovering its home resident evil realm of 2017. Her character will definately be saddened. Talk about post apocalyptic cities, lonely, creepy, quiet. Though, perhaps you can play a character that travels from the VR-World realm (being one of our VMO's elite) to the resident evil realm of 2017, and discover what happened. Or, maybe just be you, in this realm, perhaps with some folk from the virtual realm world, to visit the resident evil realm using the dimension traveling stuff.
Maybe you can have a mission, to piece together what happened in the resident evil realm, then gradually travel back, to stop that world from falling apart. You are you, you could have the forum of everything posted before the date you go back on a computer chip USB flash drive thing, with adapters that can be used on old computers (lol), and this be like some time traveling role play in the creative thing. I've got agents who can be like guards, all you would do is whatever you do. Wherever you want to go, they'll get you there. It will be a special team, with many qualifications. And I mean, the best of the best.
You game ?

Actually Rhinn, Winters and I had a whole thing going which went from raccoon city in 2012, to the south east, to the north east, then we crossed the border into Canada and found a town already established. We left there after a couple days and eventually founded out own town. By the time we had established the town, I believe it actually was 2016 by our thought process and time tracking. So we kind of did this whole thing without thinking lol
