Name: Gemma Flynn
Sex: Female
Age: 25
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 118 lbs
Appearance: Gemma’s Irish heritage is quite evident with her fair skin, freckles, red hair and blue eyes. She also has the wonderfully cute Irish Accent. She is slender and typically wears long t-shirts and jeans. Besides her clothes, she also wears archer gauntlets on her forearms and will keep her hair pulled back as much as possible. Normally, she tries to stay bundled up, not because she is cold, but to reduce sun damage and to prevent from becoming one big freckle (she is vain like that).
Personality: Gemma is kind and sweet, but wary of large groups and men (for obvious reasons). Also, her skills as a medic have put her abilities in high demand. This acts as a conflict within herself as she wants to help the injured, but also wants to protect herself. She has seen many different medical personnel just disappear, so she watches her back. She has a soft heart for children and the injured.
Occupation: Formerly an archery coach at the University of Washington; EMT Medic/Nurse
Weapons: 2 x Hoyt - Klash Compound Bows, Hoyt – Satori Carbor Traditional Field Bow, 200 carbon arrows, Defender CLS Crossbow (with scope), 100 bolts, Kukri machete, camp knife, M&P Compact – 9mm, 2 tactical axes
Equipment: Clothing; multiple first aid kits, medicines, Flashlight, radio, food rations
Vehicle: Ambulance
Abilities: highly skilled in archery, horseback riding, first aid, trauma support and battlefield surgery.
History: Gemma was born in July of 1985 and grew up in Olympia, Washington. She was the only child, but had many friends. Early on, it was quite evident, with her flaming hair and pale skin that she was pretty unique. Some kids made fun of her and called her carrot top and such, but she was proud of how unique she was.
Her love of archery started at an early age when her uncle gave her a bow and 10 arrows for her 10th birthday. They made a target and let everyone take turns, but Gemma fell in love with it. It was something that would last the rest of her life.
In high school she joined the Archery Club and also developed a love of horses. As a part time gig, she would earn money showing up to little girl birthday parties as any Disney princess that had red hair. She also worked the football games a trainer.
Once she graduated in 2003, Gemma received a partial scholarship for Archery to go to the University of Washington and worked part-time doing parties all while working toward a Nursing Degree.
In 2009 she graduated from UofWash with a nursing degree and was looking at specializing in NeoNatal care to become a NICU nurse. Lacking the money to pay for it, she was approached by the University of Washington to be hired on as a part time Archery coach for their team. It wouldn’t pay for everything, but it made it possible to get the extra training.
Then all heck broke loose in 2012.
Introduction (Sample RP): Gemma sighted down her bow and smoothly drew that the arrow. She closed one eye and acquired her target. Letting out a long breath, she let go of the arrow. There was a hiss of the arrow and then a thump as it hit its target about 30 meters away. The arrow, whether by luck or skill, nailed the zombie in the eye socket, putting it down for good. She notched another arrow and slowly crept her way down from the treeline.
Having a bow and not a machine gun really made you change your stance on engaging the enemy. It made Gemma really cautious. And cautious was good. It kept you alive.
At the corner, she encountered another zombie and quickly put it down. As she approached the two downed zombies, she retrieved her arrows and loaded them back in her quiver.
Now she was standing in front of her goal, Barney Brothers Pharmacy. The door was broken, it was possible that both looters and zombies were inside. Securing her bow, she grabbed her two metal tactical axes and ducked inside as the bow would not be of any use inside.
