Polydimensional Atomic Vortex Occilating Device - Origin 2033 - Discovery 1998 - Infinity 0000
In 2033, technology became so advance that it got out of control, and almost anything was possible. We speak in the past tense, while in the past, as if the future had already happened. At least for some of us, it has.
I am Dragnoxz. I got stuck in the past, in early 2007, in a dimension where North America had become an ultra authoritarian one. I was testing the PAVOD, in a jet, and as soon as I entered the 2007 dimension, I was met with air power of the US. But, it was a different US from what I remembered. After a slight communications issue, I managed to get in contact with them, and was instructed to land.
They transported me to some area for questioning. I explained that I was not from the area, and told them to check my aircraft serial numbers and locate their jet with the same numbers. They didn't believe me at first, until they found their jet. And that's when they realized my statements were true. An F-18E, with the same number, but different unit insignia, was stationed in a US base in Japan, and was much newer than mine.
They began to ask me questions about our realms technology, what will happen in the future, and explained that it was a bad idea to tell them. They ended up becoming aggressive to the point of making threats. It didn't matter if they killed me. To let the tech of my time fall into their hands would result in allot of harm and abuse of power.
In stead, I ended up making some of the guards think I can help guide their future to great wealth and power, and managed to turn a few of the guards over to help me get out. My escape lead to a US rebellion against the ultra authoritarian governments of the US and Canada, which lead to even further chaos and a shattered world. We began developing the PAVOD program again and well, a similar thing happened to me, again. But this time I got some friends.
Now, I am stuck in some time, in a town called Raccoon City, with some other folks, and a small Special Parajump Operations Ninja Division team, which originated in the place we will just call the VR-World, where the modern US civil war took place. The only problem is, we are out of ammo and supplies, and the team, my team, is tired. Their suits were fried and they are out of sustenance vials, which means they are back to being normal.
Basically, the town is in chaos. The cops are barricading streets along with SWAT teams, and we saw some local state guard persons doing things. We arrived at random times, when out vortex devices malfunctioned, vanishing, only to leave us here.
The first thing we noticed that was not good were some folks walking around in packs like they were drunk. The cops were shooting at them, they didn't die. Immediately, we recognized the situation, but the panicked cops got swallowed up in the sea of mindless shambles before they could take head shots. The city is dying, or is dead. There is a rise of day or more corpses increasing as time progresses.
In a warehouse somewhere in the town, with large shelves that have manufactured insulation bundles stocked, we have barricaded ourselves in with some of the towns locals. We suspect that some of them may not be native to this place. We have the large front and back garage like doors down, closed, and using the two small forklifts we found have poked the forks into the metal doors to prevent them from being raised up, unless we decide to back the forklifts from them. We found a small restroom, and two offices in the back, and an access area that leads to the ceiling, probably for utility purposes. There is also a front door, which is like a typical shop door. We locked it though, from the inside. I have a feeling allot of folks here are gonna have a more difficult time trying to make it out of this town.
I have brown hair, light golden skin, and stand about 5'11" with my black shoes on, a grey flight suit, with a patch that has an F-15E, and GPEO engraved on it, and a insignia with "Freedom for All, Freedom for Life" written on the patch. My suit is dirty, and I have a combat belt, with two water canteens and some empty pouches, with a headlamp.
Three others accompany me, two men and one women. Both men have black military helmets on, and are in full combat uniforms, yet the suits look empty and bare. The woman takes off her bulky best and helmet, and sets the he met on the ground. "So much for that. It's fried." The men follow her lead and do the same. She pulls out a dangerous looking knife and adjusts two sheaths of throwing knives, six per sheath. One of the men opens a large sheath, exposing a very expensive and versatile sword like weapon. "It's dead, it won't shock." He says. I look at the other man, "Well ?" As if to question what he has. "Nothing." He remarks, and smiles. The woman hands him one of her sheaths of throwing knives. "Don't lose them all." Her blond hair drapes down slightly, before she puts it in a crude bun, and fast. She shakes a flashlight and finds its power is out. I do the same, and find out mine is out too.
"So, we have blades, at least. Shall we introduce ourselves ?" I address the group that I'm not familiar with. I'm Dragnoxz. This is Lieutenant Kaylana, the red hair guy is Lieutenant O'Brocca, and short guy next to him is Captain Dudsey. Anyone care to introduce themselves ?"

While in development of the PAVOD, a it had gone wrong, being under pressure did that. With the NACA, North American Control Alliance, breathing down our necks, it meant that a lot of sacrifices had to be made. We had to adapt to what was thrown at us. Though the entire story is too long to be explained in detail here, it would definitely come to light once they had gotten though day one of their own personal apocalypse, because it was the first twenty four hours that proved to be the most important, or so he had gathered.
But most importantly, we ended up back where things started to go bad for the world. On more than one occasion, to boot. The Raccoon City incident had been contained in one time, biding the world some time until 2012 when the viral outbreak seeded it's what into everything that once grown the planet. In another, it was too late, and it sparked the global epidemic, crippling civilization as we knew it for fourteen years, until we were given the chance to start over.
"Collaborative excercise then, I get it. There are more you and less than me. We needed at least two people on the team with an above adequate understanding of how all of this works, but I'm not even sure when it comes to, uh, time travel, so to speak..." Doctor Halbred exclaimed, pretty much ignoring the question if introduction of himself when the tactical operatives spoke. The second had to make up for it. You'll have to excuse my colleague, apparently he's so smart that he forgot chain if command. That would be our field scientist, Doctor Halbred. I'm Col. Joseph Winters, but please don't treat that rank as if it matters, I've been away from the military for too long. the taller, not well kept man spoke. He couldn't exactly explain things, but Halbred seemed to be figuring it all out while the five of them checked their equipment together.
It seemed that they didn't have much to go with in terms of combat, and to make things worse, the third body on their team had been missing. So aside from whatever the combat unit they were partnered up with had in hand, Joseph just had his revolver. "His weapons were destroyed when we made the jump, fried like some of yours. Mine too, it seems. Revolver never let me down yet. Guess there was still an upside to ballistics ammunition. I can't complain. But we lost contact with our tech specialist, so it looks as if we're gonna have to rough this out for now and use whatever we have left to make it through..." Joseph trailed, hearing the head faintly in the background.
When they made the jump this time, it seemed to have killed a portion of the technology they had on them, but also in them. Both Halbred and Joseph were implanted with devices, and they definitely weren't functioning. It was what made up for is barebones defenses, so they were most definitely at a disadvantage from the other part of the team. Never mind the doctors lack of combat experience, no matter how much time he spent in war like situations.
To put things into perspective, the jump affected their memory, but even they weren't aware of what they lost. Considering they never really had the time to be up front with the other part of the team until now, it all made a least a little more sense why they were assembled to begin with. Joseph had been here before, while Halbred had dealt with the same thing in another timeline. That much was clear to them, but it was hard to tell where the others came from. Not that it mattered. Which was why he kept to himself, even the doctor knew not to ask. He was more worried about the missing tech specialist to collaborate is findings with.

Dragnoxz: "Ah, so, I'm guessing you are not from this realm either ?"
I look to the ceiling, "O'Brocca. Kaylana, we need to secure an upward exit, or at least observation. Captain, nosel free to stealth on to next door, see what you can find that we can use. Cardboard boxes should fool the smelly crowd of hungry for anything drunk moving folks. We don't need anyone to get bit like last time. The side effects would suck."
The dead softly bump and slide along the large wear house doors as I speak. Random gunshots can be heard in the distant, as are emergency vehicle sirens, distant loudspeakers are also heard, but the words are not clear.
The SPOND personnel move quietly, compared to others. They have a covert energy about them, yet when they look at you, they have a thoughtful examining gaze like paramedics do for their patients.
Dragnoxz: "Since we seem to be stuck here for a few days, with infected folks surrounding this place, we might as well have some conversation. Want me to explain our origin first or you first ?" I drift my focus toward Winters. "You folks don't seem to have originated here, as I thought. Perhaps if we know how one another got here, we can work together on getting a way out."

Doctor Halbred had been too occupied with trying to get a signal from his internal communications, he wouldnt even acknowledge that anyone was talking to him. Winters had had been used to it by now, but the rest of the team haven't had the chance yet, and likely wouldn't, considering this was the most he himself heard the doctor speak to someone else in a long time. But in good faith, Winters decided to open up, and even speak on behalf of his clearly missing team. Even if the doctor had been present.
"Definitely not from this realm, but I've been here before. Once. By the looks of things, it must've been around this time, but I don't know if my former was even aware of anything yet. He, I... Up in the mountains, away from all this, before things got bad. Living under a rock, so to speak. Raising my daughter, who..." he trailed, thinking back some twenty odd years. If this were another passage in time, then it meant that there was a chance she was still up there. There was even a chance that her mother had been alive. But from what basic knowledge he gathered about fractures in time, nothing was certain, and it likely wouldn't even matter. At this point.
But that didn't stop him from thinking about it, and maybe even keeping a mental note of where they could steer their mission if things turned out to be something he might be able to predict. Winters finished his train if thought, realizing that he spaced out, but given his age would have been fairly normal. "Sorry, this is he first time I've done this in awhile, and to be back here is just painful for me. I won't let it affect my preformance. After all, you must've ran into us for a reason, right? Isn't that sort of how this all works?" Winters are making a joke, but then realized maybe it wasn't actually a joke, because his idea of time clearly had a different meaning. ...Give me an idea of exactly all of you are again? The jump made my memory a little foggy. Not that I knew much in the first place. he finishe, waiting a response from whoever.

Dragnoxz: "I guess it really doesn't matter if you know. You are either going to end up coming with us, or we are going to die."
(Carefully read the following). I take a deep breath, because in about to explain allot. "Basically, I'm from the future, of a different dimension. It's 2033 in my time. I ended up in another dimension in 2006 or 2007, and rallied a rebellion in the US, and basically messed up the capitalist society. Now, after the fact, I regret how it turned out. It got worse before it got better. I had the power to make the world in the way I wanted, but I noticed that the world would have felt like ther were forced into freedom. To be honest, the world was simply not ready for a world without capitalism. No one could comprehend freedom, they wanted to be paid for working, and they wanted to pay for things. They do see on folks who didn't work rather than their own freedom. Humanity was simply raised to be selfish and controlling. So, in stead, we focused more into dimension travel, and space exploration. Our mottos is 'Freedom for All, Freedom for Life.' At least that is how it's been since we succeeded in the modern US Civl War. We defeated the federal US military in open warfare, land sea and air power, and then we found a way to coexist, but the US ended up divided hardcore. The Marines even split from the US, and allied with us, haha.
After the war, the international community saw how powerful we became. However, were were a fighting force, and were too powerful, and wanted a war to fight. We tried using our intelligence networks, but the most powerful forces in the world backed off and simply let us roll in, no fight, and welcomed us. That made us look like warmongerers and was used against us later on. We had nothing to fight, and eventually began to have internal problems. With no external threats, we looked to within, and had internal complications, and had an attempted coup, but I was not dumb. I was temporarily exiled and the international community saw we were weakening. They took advantage of this and tried to force us to fold into a coalition they made, so they could control us. The other half of us rejected their offer, so they turns to us, but we didn't fold either. Hey got mad. They applied pressure to the others, of which we threatened we would support our other half, and if they attack us they will have two of our forces to worry about. Eventually, the coalition did something and made the other half of us disband, of course their forces mostly went Ina give.
The coalition then declared war on us and that is when they f**ked up. Most of the forces that went inactive returned to us. We braced heavily for their initial attack and quickly turned their attack into our advance, and conquered them with minimal losses. We had then attains a power that influenced the world. We then proposed our new system, and gained allot of support. However, the old elite, whom we defeated, resorted to terrorism. Then their terrorism stopped, because our intelligence networks were spectacular and accurate. We conducted sting operations and eliminated all hostile powers from the underground. The world was starting to topple over to the new system, a system smilar to the Star Trek system, without money, and total human prosperity. The cells of our old enemies eventually assembled a global alliance, and out of nowhere, they attacked us. Even some of our own defects to this evil power, and our allies became neutral.
We were attacked, and this time, many civilians of the new system were unjustly killed in masse. So many were lost. It was global. Chemical weapons were used. We defeated them completely, forcing all of their cells into hiding or disbanding. Their powers used sophisticated methods to escape, and we literally secured the planet. There was nothing to fight, and our allies threatened to disband. The world was a peace, but the world didn't like the new system. They weren't ready for it. So, rather than simply let the world get use to it, we accepted that this last war was a politiclal defeat, and we submitted to the money oriented system, but we made changes to it. Scams, and things like predatory capitalism were made illegal.
In the end, the world was a different kind of free. But this was how things turned out fin that realm. During that time, we experimented with the PAVOD. We found this realm we are in now, and noticed the results of how things panned out. In this realm, by our time in 2018, this realm is desolate. All aspects of humanity are gone. The world is a decaying shell of what humanity use to be, including evidence of nuke detonations in cities. The virus of this world evolved and is not compatible with us, humans, anymore. The DNA has changed so much. It's like how you can't cross plants with humans. Yo wouldn't recognize things. The virus caused everything to evolve ultra fast. What naturally would evolve in billions of years, has evolved in a few years, with an advance version of he G virus. Some wings became so intelligent they learned all they could and simply declared the world obsolete and self terminated. They grew so mentally powerful and controlled the world, they got bored and fought each other. These brain creatures fought by controlling other creatures, and one another. Some of the organisms were so big their internal structures sometimes heated up to the point of combustion, but they evolved so fast they contains the heat and just became some crazy powdful things. The telepathically detected our space vehicles, and took control of them. But, with the PAVOD being set to auto return, they lost the ability to take control of them. We learned about them and destroyed them from space. The UIA don't f**k around. We were concerned that they might figure out how to somehow appear in other realms, so we had to stop them. Unfortunately, that was the case. In some realms, they took over.
We are now trying to stop them before they begin. And THAT is why we are here. To locate the central agents key to the f**k up of this place. But, we are having a difficult time. We are using robot technology from 2033 tech, nano technology, and teleblock tech, to block the telepathic waves from these f**kers. As I've said, they evolved fast, and we are having to try to stay a step or ten ahead of them. The ONLY thing we have is time travel, and dimension travel. We can peer into their realms for a moment, gather Intel, and ditch before they know of our existence. But, now they have figured out how to distrupt our PAVOD's moments after they enter the realm, and send them back without us. As what happened here with us, and if you are using a similar device that mimics a vortex like ours for dimension and time travel, they could have detected it and f**ked up all of yours. And when they do get sent back, they cry all our s***. Good thing we didn't have too many implants. If we did, we'd die, haha. If yo had androids with you, sorry to say, they gone.
What we must do now, is go to our reserve PAVOD units. The only problem is, they aren't here yet. We will have a few moments grace period to get to them. They are somewhere in the city, but we will need to leave some behind for the other teams. Once activated there is only a five minute period that is calibrated to the point it can reduce the time based on numbers of realms that exist. Because if the telepathic folks end up here, we f**ked. Their mental power only have 6 minutes capability to find the devices, so we keep it a minute faster than their reaction time. They are isn't mental power, we are using high speed computer power, haha. Because f**k the organics.
Any questions ?"
"Of course the brainiac wasent paying attention. He seems so lost in unimportant calculations."
I look as if I just realized something important, but blow it off, as nothing.
There is a loud series of explosions in the distant, but I stand there idle, waiting for questions.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, is that all? Winters exclaimed, having heard everything now. He dabbled in time before, but nothing like this. This had been something from science fiction, but then again, so we're the dead and it never stopped him from adapting. While he didn't really understand completely, Winters had enough of an idea now why they wanted his team's help. He put his hand on Halbreds shoulder, but before he could do anything, the man spoke, almost seeming excited. That's why we used... And not... Meaning... Winters wasn't too impressed that he hadn't been listening.
Not now, Doctor. We need to- but he had been cut off. Halbred returned his eye contact with the other team, more specifically the one who just explained everything. A lapse of memory, sorry. We're not like you, not used to this. So, were to establish a stable timeline set apart from our previous misdirection? Doing this all over again means we would have more control, so I can see why were here, now, in this time. According to my studies, this would have been our second best chance, first being the one that had already went belly up. Sorry for your loss, by the way. So if this is the path were traveling on, we should be getting out of this city, and headed southeast.
Winters knew that they were a team, but as far as chain of command went, the team opposite then had been higher up. He wasnt much for authority, hence not being part of the military anymore, but he knew how important it was that they both aided where it was needed, meaning asking questions and not jumping ahead of anyone else. Just give the orders, and don't listen to Halbred. He doesn't know when to talk. Usually. I have questions unrelated to the mission, but they can wait. Where do we start? I have experience with the monsters around here, just to make sure you're aware. They'd be drawn to that explosion, so if we're gonna go, now's a good chance.

Similar to a briefing, Dragnoxz explains the situation.
Dragnoxz: "Ok. Right now, the SPOND operatives are carying out the objectives I gave them. If our electronics were working, we could simply read from our hard drives what is about to happen here. Unfortunately, we are back to the old ways of recon and taking steps. First thing is first. We need to get a better idea of what our immediate surroundings are."
Kaylana and O'Brocca return. Kaylana drops a rope on the ground and speaks up. Kaylana: "The dead step crowd got interested in the boom. They are moving toward that direction."
O'Brocca: "Problem. It drew a pack from opposite of us. It's crossing through us right now, to get to the sound of the explosion."
Kaylana: "Hope the captain isn't having too much trouble."
Dragnoxz: "Kaylana. You're fast. Find the captain and join him. He will need your assistance and expertise. O'Brocca, and I, with these fine folks, will hold the fort. Rcon focus: Crowd movements and possible openings for us, and any other info we may need." I nod to her to indicate her task has been given. She responds with a nod of confirming compliance.
"What we do know is that this town is screwed on the early morning of the 3rd of October. The RE-3's and other bio creatures get released. Well, at least a week before the town goes crater mode. I can't remember off the top of my head. The RE-3's are long tongued, brain waiving, eyeless, ceiling climbing, screech creatures. From what we know, they were bio designed for hunting. The problem is, their sense of hearing is overwhelming. A good sound of a gun shot usually stuns them for a moment. The spots where their eyes use to be receive sound, which we think is like sonar that gives them a picture of surroundings using sound. The ones we caught indicate that they make a hiss sound that bounces off of their surroundings and somehow projects back to those membranes. Never move if you hear them hissing. It's f**king creepy how they do that. If they hiss, they are able to see solid objects, or so it looks like they can. In our lab, I got chewed out when I tapped my finger on the glass. They may also be able to tap and sense objects.
Also, very important. As soon as we find tape, we all NEED to tape our sleeves and clothes up. Infected fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and other insects can transmit the infection. Our nano electronics are fried, so we can't generate antivirus pills. s***. I forgot to tell them."
Kaylana softly bumps the ceiling from up in the rafters, just before exiting, and signals a thumbs up, indicating she knows what to do.
O'Brocca: "We have a way to get on the roof for everyone, just in case we get compromised here. The rope will help as support. But if the RE-3's have been let out, being up would render us too vulnerable. We would be safer to crawl through the zombie packs like normal, and be ready for the canines and felines. Can't do much about a cat though."
Dragnoxz: "If I'm gonna be giving instructions to you and your party, as in, taking you in, I will need to know your positives and negatives. I can see already the doctor here might be a tad slow to react to harsh situations. We can't train you in combat against the things we may face, we we can keep a look out for firearms; just not for the doc. O'Brocca. I think I saw rubber bands in the office. Will you bring them out for us ?"
O'Brocca nods and moves to the office. Some of the others, "civilians" walk up and question if they are going to die. O'Brocca casually, simply and carelessly sarcastic says "Yes. Eventually. We all will." One of them asks if we are real. O'Brocca smiles and shakes his head, before saying "Definately not. Not in this realm. But today, we are."
I step to the side so Winters may brief me on his friends and himself, and signal O'Brocca to waste the time of the unaware civilians who are bombarding us with questions and demands. It is too difficult to interract with them, knowing their most likely fate.
"Winters. O'Brocca will keep them occupied for us while we talk."
