The chopper pitches up just as you exit the chopper. You feel like you’re about to break the hook as you begin to feel much heavier. The harness begins to hurt as the chopper above you slows, and the trees below scream up at you. There are some hot spots on the ground from the rockets and several figures scurrying about. The cable unravels fast and like a one way yo-yo you slow. You feel even more heavier and then flip to where your back is facing the ground. You feel the wind get knocked out of you and can’t seem to breathe. The wind all around you is oppressive though, from the chopper blades.
Dixie: “Unhook NOW ! He’s coming around !”

Perception 20, I unhook myself as I hear her.

As soon as you do, immediately you see every enemy in the area as well as a very injured Farenvól. Two of the Evokers are next to her about 67 meters away, pulling her into a dense pocket of vines and dense shrubs. They appear to be having a difficult time as they are about 2/3rds her height, and are fairly frail. The hook lifts up and away as the chopper rotated to the right and fires two more sets of rockets. Some explosions erupt near you, to your left and behind you. It’s from one of the grenade launchers. They’ve cleared a dense locked of enemies. Though you have several of them near you, most are Evokers. Though, the enemy appear to be panicking and running around, unaware of your presence.
Wisdom check.

You know it’s a good opportunity to use silence rather than firearms to avoid detection. There are no lights, and the enemy can’t see as good as you can since they don’t have FLIR. The two Evokers continue to aggressively yank Farenvól away. They’ve rewatched about 74 meters.

I take off toward them and use the confusion to my advantage. As I slink closer I begin to draw my blade slowly as I’m sweeping through the chaos.

As you begin to draw the blade, one runs into you, followed by another. It reminds you of how when a small kid would blindly run into someone out of nowhere, but these are not kids, they are ruthless Evokers. A second one stops to a stumble. Roll dexterity.

You don’t fall from them running into you, rather the first one that runs into you bounces off and cartwheels sideways before it slams into the ground while the other runs head first onto your hip area and is stunned, falling to the ground. They can barely see, and you had enough momentum that if you stop you’d stop about 8 meters from them. Think of bowling pins. The two Evokers pulling Farenvól are moving down toward what looks like a stream, but without visible coolness so there most likely isn’t water, meaning it’s a dry stream bed. You hear more explosions and the thumping of the choppers blades as it maneuvers like crazy.

I’m going to continue my pursuit not stopping and take advantage of their distraction of carrying her and without missing a beat I make a strike at one of their throats. I have no preference to which one. 17 to hit if you allow the roll.

You hit. The one closest to your swing range releases Farenvól and stumbles back to check it’s throat, and then just holds it with a blind and confused expression before turning away and stumbling off, blood pouring down the belly as it goes. The other starts making aggressive remarks at how the other isn’t helping and still fails to perceive you. Farenvól gasps, obviously having breathing problems.

I put my sword away, I walk to intercept the path they are going. I grab Farenvoi with one arm and take my pistol and shoot the other Evoker point blank in the head.

After firing that shot, you’ve alerted the enemy to your presence. The one stumbling off drops to the ground and ceases movement. Farenvól is severely injured and is not responsive, you can do an intel check or assess on your own. She has an open wound exposing her internals from her right lower rib to her right leg all the way to her knee. She’s breathing very shallow and light, and is near the point of labored breathing. Her side looks like it could spill intestines if moved around roughly. The Evokers are shouting among themselves. You hear their random shouts and cries, and a distinct sound of one of those wormhole segments hitting a nearby tree. Farenvól has no armor against such attack. You see the flutter of the now many wormhole segments flying through the air. You see the ones in your immediate area trying to navigate the terrain poorly with low vision. Two bump into one another and they fearfully shriek at one another.
Dixie: “Caston. Watch out he’s turning back to you !” She says, talking about the dragon. You hear more rocket explosions nearby, and then another set that is getting closer. “Setting a waypoint for you, I’ll defend !” You see a waypoint pop up, and the distance. 347 meters to your right. The only problem is, there are about 17 enemies between you and that waypoint.

“She may need immediate attention. You buy me some time, I need to try to stabilize! If I try to run through we both die! She’s more important than me!”
