There is no running water there, however, there is an electric pump in the makeshift kitchen and a station for washing dishes, with a sprayer and cleaning supplies. You manage to find what you need to clean your medical supplies and sanitize. And also find the medical table and cabinets for medical supplies to replenish all that you need to replenish. It is still night time there, so it’s quiet. A few personnel walk by doing their own thing. A small group are on break, playing chess and engaging in light chat. The sleeping area has folks sleeping and some resting, or reading on their devices. You smell a bitter sweet coffee like aroma coming from the kitchen area after a while.

I’m going to reset my gear and put it on my cot. I’m going to go outside and get a lay of the area and see who’s out and about.

It is dark, though flame lit lanterns softly illuminate the streets and immediate area with a glow. The locals are mostly sleeping. You notice Dixie returning to the temple for her chance of rest as you roam the streets. Would you like a detailed description of the nightly town ?

Dixie: “I don’t know. This world is at war. I think something big is about to happen. She wouldn’t just go off like that.”

You are at the cot. You hear voices of some folks talking down stares. You also smell good of some sort, with unknown spices that smell an acidic sweet, but you can’t quite identify it. Do you try to sleep or go investigate ?

In the quiet nighttime kitchen, one of the female soldiers attends to a simmering pot with utmost focus. Its aged appearance holds a sense of history, like a relic from bygone days. Sgt. Bo standing nearby, engrossed in the digital display on a tablet, his back turned to the counter beside the lady chef. Catching the soldier's attention, she gestures toward an assortment of unfamiliar vegetable-like plants. Without hesitation, Sgt. Bo promptly hands her the requested produce. The plant in question bares a striking resemblance to a robust fern, boasting a dense orange stalk adorned with a mesmerizing display of fourteen leaflets spread outward, each adorned with intricate red sub-leaflets that are tipped with vibrant orange bead-like structures. With care and precision, she places the verdant specimen into the pot, stem and all, as if adding a secret ingredient to a sacred potion. Her actions hold a certain reverence, and not a single glance spared in your direction.
Sgt. Bo: "Pee, Ef, See, Jovani."
PFC. Jovani: "Sargent, Boo," he replies promptly, a voice just to your left, softly break the silence in that area. His presence, previously unnoticed, now demands attention as he vigilantly safeguards the surroundings, his hand hovering near his holster, fixates on your presence. Had it not been for Bo’s interjection, you might have easily overlooked his vigilant stance.
Sgt. Bo: "Easy, Jo," he utters in an accent that carries a nostalgic 80's charm, his words resonating with a sense of familiarity and camaraderie.
The enticing aroma of the culinary creation wafted through the kitchen, casting a spell upon the senses. It possesses a distinct allure, reminiscent of sweet peppers. The scent permeates the air, intertwining with the essence of the room. Its warm and inviting notes stir a longing within, promising a tantalizing feast for the palate.

“I thought I smelled something tasty. What are you cooking?” I say as I step in and take in the smells.

Disclaimer: (I’ve modified how the NPC’s speak in this reply, let me know if you prefer this way or if you like the character title and name before they speak in stead).
The woman's gaze sweeps around the kitchen, her expression carrying a hint of offense, as though her culinary expertise has been inadvertently challenged. Her appearance, with features hinting at her Iranian/Persian descent, adds a touch of cultural diversity to the scene. Without missing a beat, she returns to her cooking, her graceful demeanor a testament to her confidence in the craft.
In a moment of playful banter, the Woman Soldier interjects, declaring, "He's not getting any." Sgt. Bo, taken aback by her remark, widens his eyes and forms an 'o' shape with his mouth, the unexpectedness of her comment catching him off guard. As swiftly as he reacts, Bo then looks back at you, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
"Ah, you see," Bo chimes in, amused by the exchange, "she's preparing a soup crafted from local ingredients and herbs. It's our first attempt at this delicacy." His words are laced with a sense of camaraderie and appreciation for the woman's culinary endeavors. The light-hearted exchange echoes through the kitchen, creating an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie among the soldiers.
